Problem of Convergence HB in co-simulation EM-circuit

Hello

It would be really helpful if someone could take a look at the problem of simulation in the attached draft. I get errors from simulation - "step for source stepping size has declined under a permissible minimum value."and"poor convergence in the analysis of AC/DC (rel/abs err = 2,000 / 0.000) the biggest change (41) node in the node (46) maximum voltage = 53.076 minimum voltage in the node (MET_BASE!" _S12_LD1. R1.et) =-4.337 the biggest change in the branch (_S12_S1. I16) Maximum current in the industry (_S12_S1. I17) = 951,567 m current Minimum in the branch (MET_BASE! _S12_LD1.) R1. Bessel_L1. "(I) =-1735"

Despite trying most of the suggested solutions enumerated using the particular error message, the problem persists. What I do wrong here in the configuration of the simulation?

Thank you much in advance.

You check the use frequency of the project on block of EXTRACT properties > frequencies tab.  So the structure of the MA is only simulated at frequencies of input: DC and not harmonics 5 simulation HB is taken into account.  So microwave Office must extrapolate at these frequencies. Your block EXTRACT frequencies should be defined to include 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 times each frequency simulation... .to you chanage the number of harmonics in the harmonic balance options.  You can also simply define the block EXTRACT sweep from 0 to 10 GHz.  Whatever it is, the simulation of EM will take more time, of course.  If AXIEM does not converge on a response, change the properties of block of EXTRACT > AXIEM tab, click the secondary Show button and under Advanced frequency sweeping (AFS), increase Max # sim points.

For circuits that include models not linear, you must include the frequency = 0 even for linear measurements, for the accurate calculation of the DC polarization.

I have also tried to set up the driver door step by step - I started VS, CO, EN, PGND simulation aside mistakes and haven't got pine then; but when I started to connect pins STB and DRN, convergence error has occurred. If the error of convergence is resulting from errors in STB and DRN pins?

For convenience, the datasheet of NCP5355D is also attached here, where the application example connections are included.

Waiting for your ideas and thanks in advance!

I don't have a Multisim, so I can't see your circuits but have a few general comments.

1 MOSFET driver models often use switches and these can lead to problems of convergence. This is because the action of switching introduced a strong nonlinearity in the model.  I wrote my own template using transmission lines for delay and nonlinear dependent sources with functions tanh rather than hard switches.

    2. If you do not need to model the detailed driver behavior, using pulse sources with up/down times as long as possible without changing the behavior of the MOSFET can be a better choice.

  • "Détarer" problem with the Torch 9800/Device Simulator

    Hello everyone,

Im a very strange problem with the Torch 9800 (OS 6).

I have an application developed with 5.0 SDK. Throughout the process of synchronization of this app, there is a point he gets a. tar.gz file that is unziped. For this purporse (in fact, the tar part / "détarer"), we use a tar / "détarer" 'library' we found here in the forum (http://code.google.com/p/j2metar/). This library works fine in all phones with OS 5.0 that we try and even on the simulators of somo 6.0.

But there seems to be a problem with the torch. During the uncompress, there are an exception, because what is the reading of the structure of the tar (from the industry), load the bytes that are invalid, corrupt, dirty, memory, and it fails.

The strange thing of all is that if I have only the routine détarer to the file (in the torch), it works! But when I run all my sinchronization, which open and close httpconnections and process the file on some points (sometimes the same point, others of different) fails.

My question is... are at - it a known bug, issue, etc. with the BONE of the torch (touch device)? Of course, the first thing that jump to mind is "my code is incorrect, memory leaks (in Java, but perhaps odd that a stream was not getting close properly)" and so on, but I can't seam to find the problem. And like I said before, this application works fine with the same file tar.gz in other devices like the 8520 OS 5, 9780 OS 6, 8900 (OS 5).

IM completely stuck with this problem and any help/test will be greatly appreciated.

Here some code, the method that makes him détarer and calls the détarer/tar library:

    Hello

It is a problem with the OS 6.  I've posted about this before here:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/reading-and-writing-file-on-torch-9800/TD-p/...

Basically, corruption may occur if you write to the stream simultaneously in different threads.  The solution is to ensure that a single file operation is occurring at a given time.  Some people have had the chance to control the size of the buffer to something as a multiple of (64 * 1024)-1. e.g. 65535.  In addition, you can rinse after each write to the buffer.  I have had no luck with this, but others.  If you look at the bug in JIRA, there is also no activity on this:

On the contarary when I used a bread-Board & checked the result... I was getting sinusoidal output...

Please help me about the same...

I guess that stimulate the op-amp circuits is really hard in Multisim. !!

    Please find the attachment.

    NUPSSHAH,

I took a quick look at these circuits.

In "wave sine generation.ms12" U1A, you pin 4 (V +) cable to Gnd and PIN 11 cable to + 6V (while all the other operational amplifiers are opposed).  Is - this intentional or your circuit isn't correct?

Also, these seem to be the variety of resonance (where the change of phase of 180 is important) and can be difficult for any Simulator SPICE simulate, especially if the conditions of marketing and the stage (transfer function) is not perfectly modeled.    I think this might be similar to a situation where in SPICES you need to 'launch' resonant Crystal, that is to say - you'll need to give it an initial energy and eventually it will start to vibrate.   (See here: http://forums.ni.com/t5/Circuit-Design-Suite-Multisim/Crystal-Oscillator/td-p/1109026)

Usually with a Crystal, the model is relatively simple.   The difficulty with an op amp, is that if you give him too much energy (in order to get to the ramp until the resonance quickly), simulation can go non-linear because of the cutting/saturation and the global simulation at this time is perhaps not reliable.

Please check your circuit again, but maybe you can try to use as a source of thermal noise + interactive SPDT switch to give it enough starting (and put it out if enough energy is applied)?  Just an idea...  If you see no brake once the source is turned off, the phase is probably off.

    Hello

I took a glance at your circuit, and it seems that the question of convergence is in the template that you use.  The model is a 3-terminal op amp; in other words, only the input and output pins are modeled and not the power supply.  This leads to problems of in your circuit in question because you have some operational amplifiers in open-loop configurations expected that output will be cut to supply voltages.  But because the power supplies are not modeled, the output is not be truncated, and so very great tension values produce outputs.

I have replaced the template you are currently using in the circuit (ITI/LM324A) by another who does not model power supply (ITI/LM324A_2).  It seems that solved the issue of convergence.  The modified file is attached.  There are also specific models to the LM324 provider in the database in case you use a specific component of the seller (depending on your version of Multisim).

Let us know if that fixes the problem.

  • Simulation freezes Multisim

    Hi all

I played a bit with multisim for a few years now, but later began to really use the features of simulation of the program.  I noticed that transient analysis of the very basic circuits seem to work fine, but nothing more than (especially those using pwm controls) after bogged down as some ridiculously short period of time.  Also, before it freezes, things as the output of the oscilloscope function very slowly.  I have attached my circuit for reference and using all that you wonderful people out there.  What I am doing wrong?

  • Problem when running of several blocks of entire function

    Hello

I'm building a great system/function using LabVIEW. Therefore, to practice and make look it tidy, I create a VI of blocks to separate and combine certain functions. But, my problem is when I did, the simulation seems to work really slow and the results are different compared to when I had the whole function/system in a single block.

For your information, every VI blocks that I created has a loop control and simulation. When I have all interconnected, I put them all in another loop control and simulation, because some functions that I use to connect them together could not be used without the loop.

Wondering if having a loop control and simulation in every block contributes effectively to this problems as each loop will run depends on the number of time that I put in the loop.

If it doesn't matter which method to avoid this problem happen? My system/function looks terribly messy and it will be difficult for me to present no later than at the end of my project.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think what you are trying to achieve is to use simulation subsystem functionality. This allows the functions to execute outside a loop of simulation so that you can create a Subvi. After selecting the functions in your simulation loop you would like to be in a Subvi, select Edit» create Simulation subsystem. Let me know if that helps!
