Problem of migration of data of characters using a whole export and import

Hi there;

I have a database in my local computer that does not support Turkish characters. My NLS_CHARACTERSET is WE8ISO8859P1, it should be changed to WE8ISO8859P9, because it supports the full Turkish characters. I would like to migrate character data using a full export and import and my strategy is the following:

1. create a full export to a network location,

2 create a new database in the local computer than NLS_CHARACTERSET is WE8ISO8859P9 (I wish NLS_TERRITORY NLS_LANGUAGE change by the way)

3 and to implement a full import of database created.

I've implemented the first step, but I could not implement the second step. I created the second step using Toad editor by clicking Create-> new database, but I can't connect to the new database. I need to connect the new database in order to perform the full import. How can I do this?

Thanks in advance.

First of all, if your applications run on Windows, do not use WE8ISO8859P9. Use TR8MSWIN1254.

Second, if you create a new database, the database is not necessarily immediately accessible to the outside world. I don't know of a toad, and I have no idea if it performs all necessary steps required for the new base data is visible.  For example, in the toad itself, I guess you need to create a new connection that refers to the new SID of the newly created database and use this new link to connect. However, connections without a connection string using the parameter ORACLE_SID in the registry to indicate applications access which instance (database) to use.  To change the database accessed with a connection string empty, you must modify the registry (unless the toad has an option to do it for you). If you want to connect without changing the registry, you need a connection string. This requires the implementation of Oracle Listener to serve the new database (unless the default configuration is used and the database registers itself with the default listener). You must also edit the tnsnames.ora file to create an alias for the new database. Net or Net Configuration Manager Wizard can help you with this.

I wonder if the database Configuration Wizard would not be a better tool to create a new Oracle databases.

Thank you

Sergiusz

  • Impossible to add date in dumpfile using a file & export

    Hi all

    OS = SOLARIS SPARC 64-bit 11

    DB = Oracle 12 c

    I am planning a daily backup of the database using cron tasks, do I have to create a simple script. In this script, I will inaugurate the export dump using parameter files. The dump file must contain the date of the backup.

    Since this is my first time this is done, I was looking around and found a method on the date of the addition in the dump file. But I still couldn't it works when I get home all in a parfile.

    At first, I tried to run the backup without using the nominal file, and it works as below.

    export ORACLE_SID = ELMTEST

    Export mydate = "date"+ %Y %m %d"'"

    echo $mydate

    20141117

    To expand a bit on Richard to answer...

    The reason why it works on the command line, not in the file because the command line itself is processed by the processor of the shell.  The shell bed processor line, performs substitutions (like your $mydate) environment variables and THEN load the requested executable (expdp) it passing the fully expanded command line.

    On the other hand, him parfile is read and processed ONLY by expdp, which knows no substitution of environment variables.

    There are several common ways to deal with this.

    We have to leave everything right on the command line.

    Another would be to have the shell script to write the nominal file as well:

    export ORACLE_SID = ELMTEST

    Export mydate = "date"+ %Y %m %d"'"

    echo $mydate

    20141117

    export parfile = myparfile.txt

    Directory = dpump_dir1 echo > $parfile

    dumpfile = hrtestexp_ echo $ {mydate} .dmp > $parfile

    echo nologfile = y > $parfile

    oraelm@hrmdbd01:/backup/Elm$ system/manager@ELMTEST expdp parfile = $parfile

    Another technique is to use the redirection of input:

    oraelm@hrmdbd01:/backup/Elm$ expdp system/manager@ELMTEST<>

    Directory = dpump_dir1

    dumpfile = hrtestexp_$ {mydate} .dmp

    nologfile = y

    A few other comments

    First of all, as already pointed out, the export is not a backup, at least not a physical backup.  To use export for recovery, you must first have a working database.  It will be no help if you have a failure of a support on a data file.

    Second, you really need to capture a log file, rather than nologfile = y.  This log file can be valuable in any number of situations.  Why in the world would you delete?

    The size of the file I am trying to import is not more than 0.5 GB.

    Kind regards

    You should check how much memory consumes your request, if it's 32-bit windows, which will be less than 2 GB.
    It seems he requires more than 2 GB and cannot attack more, the combination of the caches for all databases in the application could take to the maximum, and when the application requires more memory, you do not find on the operating system.

    See you soon

  • Export and import in Data warehouse

    Hello
    I built a warehouse project data with a few dimensions and a cube on a server machine, say server1. Now I have another server computer on which I want to develop this project for bulk production.
    I want to import all the developments of server1 to new server machine, say server2, to save my time. I exported the data to the server server1 using the export feature and import the same file to server2 by using the import function. My question is...

    Is it possible to use all the imported objects like cube, dimension, maps, tables and sequences in the same way to server2 that I used to server1. If yes then what are the necessary settings, I did. ??? because imported ratings are not able to deploy in the new machine to server2 of various errors specific location not valid and not valid errors for mapping and the dimensions of the table.

    Thanks in advance

  • Export and import using named pipes

    Hai,
    I need a clarification to the export, import and compress dumps using named pipes. I use Oracle 9i RAC 9.2.0.4 in AIX 5.3. Every month I have to move the list of tables in a database to a different database after shocks of export. The list of activities made by me at the present time are given below.

    1 account export and gziping file dump at the same time by using named pipes.
    2. to unzip and import into database using named pipes second.

    We do the compress for space constraints. Now my doubt is if using named pipes, we can make two import operations and compress the dump file at the same time. That is to say, at the time of export, using channels named, I need the import into the database in another and compress the zip file. Is this possible?

  • R12.2.4 data lost after using the dialog Page and return to the calling page. (Help please!)

    Hi team,

    I'm new to OAF and works on a requirement to add some custom validation when the user clicks a button in a seeded standard page.

    The approach I took was to extend the seeded controller object managed this press event button and put my custom logic in the extended controller and substitute the standard controller through customization.

    The standard rate which was pressing the Complete button A Page, the user was taken to the next and epepinee page (Page B) some operations based on records that have been chosen Page A.

    Part of the custom validation requirement that was if some postings were not met, the user must be a pop-up asking if they really wanted to move forward and if they have selected Yes then continue with the seeded standard flow (transition to page B) and if they have NOT selected then just remain on the current page.

    I have used OADialogPage and to do this, in part, the question , I am running into is that when the user selects one or more records using a check box in a region of several record (table) and click the full page and if the validation fails then a modal page and the user made a selection i.e.either Yes or no modal page and when they return to the calling page (ex. Page A), all data (records) they chose previously is lost (the Page is refreshed). Based on what I see on this forum, I suspect it's because after having click Yes on the modal page and then return to the original page the processRequest fires again and the VO data is queried again and has all the parts on the page are lost. Since I am changing the flow in seedlings pages based on the intervention of the user I'm confused as to how this problem can be solved. that is, prevent the page refreshes or preserve the selections that were made before you navigate to modal page.     }

    If (oapagecontext.getParameter ("ConYesButton")! = null) {}

    Write Yes button Action code

    oapagecontext.putParameter ("completeOps", "Continue");

    }

    If (oapagecontext.getParameter ("ConNoButton")! = null) {}

    Write the code of the Action for the No button

    Dim errormsg = ' rule Violations have occurred. "

    throw new OAException (errormsg);

    }

    super.processFormRequest (oapagecontext, oawebbean);

    }

    I managed to work around this problem by adding a simple control in my controller processRequest method extended to avoid the call to super.processRequest incase lhen control returns to the page once the user has made a selection on the Page of the dialog box

    If ((oapagecontext. (GetParameter ("ConYesButton") == null) & (oapagecontext.getParameter ("ConNoButton") == null)) {}

    super.processRequest (oapagecontext, oawebbean);

    }

    Thank you!

  • Problem with the archive log when you use RMAN for backup and restore (11g 2)

    Hello world
    Please help me solve this problem.
    I'm just beginner in Oracle Database (11 g 2). Today, I had a problem, I tried to back up and restore my db by RMAN. I delete all the files in /u01/app/oracle/oradata/orcl / * , then I restore them easily, but the point is I have a table, I can restore Hungarian, but cannot restore anything ranks in it (something wrong with step restore database). I'll tell the detail below.
    -First, I create a 'Day' with command table create table hr.day (varchar (20)) day. Then I backup complete by this:
    run{
    allocate channel bkp device type DISK FORMAT '/u01/backup/DB_FULL_%d_%T_s%s_p%p' ;
    backup as compressed backupset incremental level 0 tag 'DB_FULL' database include current controlfile;
    backup as compressed backupset tag 'ARCL_BKP_FULL' archivelog all delete input;
    crosscheck archivelog all;
    crosscheck backup;
    delete noprompt obsolete;
    release channel bkp;
    }

    D ' other hand, I have insert 'Monday' to table. then do an incremental backup by this:

    run{
    allocate channel bkp device type DISK FORMAT '/u01/backup/DB_INC_%d_%T_s%s_p%p' ;
    backup as compressed backupset incremental level 1 tag 'DB_INC' database include current controlfile;
    backup as compressed backupset tag 'ARCL_BKP_INC' archivelog all delete input;
    crosscheck archivelog all;
    crosscheck backup;
    delete noprompt obsolete;
    release channel bkp;
    }

    Repeat 7 times (Monday-> Saturday). And I got these files:

    [oracle@rac ~]$ ls -l /u01/backup/
    total 400280

    If i ignore it and open the database, just my table in full backup come back but rows was not restored. I'm sure the problem is my archive log backup but i don't know how to solve it. Plz help me.

    Sorry for a long post.

    > 1 and from the 1205841 SNA sequence

    The SCN that indicates Oracle is above the range of SNA that you have in the ArchiveLog backups for sequence 1 to 15 (15 sequence ends at 1205840).

    The message

    channel ORA_DISK_1: restoring archives Journal

    Archives journal thread = 1 sequence = 15

    channel ORA_DISK_1: backup/u01/backup/DB_INC_ORCL_20160120_s117_p1 piece reading

    channel ORA_DISK_1: piece handle = / u01/backup/DB_INC_ORCL_20160120_s117_p1 tag = ARCL_BKP_INC

    indicates that he has restored the sequence up to 15

    You can check the log file alert database instance for messages on the fact of recovery.

    He is now asking sequence #1 it seems you did a RESETLOGS after sequence #15.

    Note: If you have NOT issued a COMMIT after the line is INSERTED in the table 'Day', the recovery of the database will have no * transactions * to retrieve.  An uncomitted transaction is cancelled.

  • all export and import and the data files location

    Hi guys,.

    can someone please confirm...

    If I export the entire base and my X tablespace uses the loc * 1 data file * / test1.dbf, in the database where I matters now in the data file is in loc * 2 * / test1.dbf, it does make a difference and the data gets imported correctly, Yes?

    If I export the entire base and my X tablespace uses the loc * 1 data file * / test1.dbf, in the database where I matters now in the data file is in loc * 2 * / test1.dbf, it does make a difference and the data gets imported correctly, Yes?

    No, it makes no difference and the import of the data correctly.

  • shape paths after using the opacity mask and import to photoshop

    Okie dokie people help me here. In which case it is important

    MacBook

    OSX lion

    HAVE CS5

    I created this logo in Illustrator. I did my Masters with a pen tool, put a grunge texture of vector on the top of the forms and then used "make opacity mask" for my grunge effect. As you can see in the screenshot of my illy is all very clean and looking like it should. When you open my other photo you can see that as soon as I transferred (cmd + cmd copy + paste) the logo in PS you can now see pale lines where the forms used to be * highlighted in red *. I also tried place the .ai file in ps, but got the same effect. I use all colors pantone on the logo, the two documents are placed at 300 dpi... uh I don't see anything else. PS is in RGB, Illustrator is CMYK (but using Pantone)

    What gives, how do I get my logo to look in PS as well as in Illustrator?

    Simple. Your opacity mask black is dark gray.

  • migration of data from 10.2 to 9.2 problem

    Hello

    When the oracle data is migrated from 9.2 to 10.2, there are new 10.2 as new tablespace SYSAUX available and many new features. How to export data from 10.2 to 9.2 with import/export manual orders? I tried to use 9.2 export utility to export data from 10.2 and imported in 9.2. But tereminated with error not available sysaux tablespace in 9.2 to import.

    Help, please.

    After the complete export and import settings used.

    Diagrams how you are interested to import into a 9.2 10.2 database export?
    Why not use parameter TOUSER, FROMUSER?

  • Data accidentally deleted using the command replace the datapump

    All,

    I exported 2 partitions of a table using the pump data to the following address:

    expdp User1/password1 directory = DPUMP_DIR tables = tab1:P27, tab1:P28 logfile = tab1.log dumpfile = tab1_27_28.dmp

    I moved the dump to the staging file and tried to import with the following command:

    Impdp User1/password1 directory = DPUMP_DIR tables = tab1:P27, tab1:P28 = tab1.log = tab1_27_28.dmp = table_exists_action dumpfile logfile APPEND

    When I run the above command, I got the following error:

    ORA-31696: unable to import/export TABLE_DATA: "VOP. "' R_REQUEST ': 'P28. "' P28_RN ' using client specified AUT

    I checked this on the Oracle Support Web site and got the following advie:
    =====================================================
    + * < moderator edit - content removed from MOS Doc - please do not post content of MOS Docs - this is a violation of your Support contract > * +.
    =================================================================================

    I then proceeded to use table_exists_action = replace (thinking he would only replace the 2 were specified).

    With the help of table_exists_action = replace deleted lines of all others were leaving and loaded the 2 partitions that I exported.

    I tried to recover data using the command below lodt, but it did not work:

    SQL > flashback table user1.tab1 timestamp (systimestamp - interval minute '120');

    I have enable row movement and we always had enabled flashback:
    db_flashback_retention_target around 1440

    Does anyone know how I could have consulted lost data without having to export and import the entire table (which is almost 1 terabyte)

    If your database in archivelog mode? If so you can try to make CAMILLE
