Problem of multiple windows. Windows update 0% complete, "ready to set up Windows. "Please do not turn off your computer", etc.

Hi all, I have recently experienced some of the problems reported here: - Windows update doesn't work (stuck at 0% for the hours) - Windows cannot stop ("preparing to set up Windows. Please don't turn off your computer") - MSE is out of date - I can't unzip files - some programs no longer work - I just can't stop some services (like Windows update). It times out. etc... I have Win7 X 64, and the last update that has worked with success has been about 3 weeks ago. Thanks for your help!

Very well.

  • Stuck on the screen "Please wait" or "Configuring windows. Do not turn off your computer.

    I'm under 64-bit Windows 8

Apparently, I scanned my system with a complete analysis of the system (AVAST) and my computer left thinking that it would take several hours. When I came back, my computer automatically shut down because it was left idle for about 4 hours. I don't know if the scan is finished. When I try to start, the screen becomes screen stuck on "Please wait" or "windows setup. Do not turn off your computer.

I already tried to go on the System Recovery Options screen, then will solve the problems, then Advanced Options, but I tried everything what it and the problem persists even when I tried to start in safe mode. I tried to go to the command prompt, and then type sfc / scannow, but he says he cannot parse now. I also tried chkdsk / R, but it said the same thing. I don't know how to run cmd as administrator from the System Recovery Options.

So now I tried to use system restore, but I'm stuck on the logo of windows for about 1 and a half hour. I don't know if I have to wait for it or it is already blocked. In other forums I've read, they were using only the Group of drive 'C:' connected with system restore. Should I do this?

I think to delete AVAST or turn it off somehow.

    Please help me.

    Problem solved

I would like to share how I solved the problem. I was able to start using the windows 8 cd and in the window that asks you the language of the windows 8 needs to be installed, you can see below "computer repair".

After clicking on it, it automatically prompts me for advanced boot parameters. First I tried the auto repair, but it says the same thing, '.. '. can't fix right now... »
So I tried the option "pc refresh. I waited a few minutes to cool to do and after the process, it is more hung please wait screen when starting.

Once connected, I installed programs have been removed. In the local disk files, there is a new "windows.old folder ' showing all programs that I have the old system. Re-install program is easy and the best thing is that I have my computer back.

My deep gratitude to those who helped me. Thank you!

  • Updates configuration: phase 2 of 3-100% full. Do not turn off your computer. Don't know what to do next!

I have a 503WM Compaq Presario with Windows Vista Home Premium, which has problems after a Windows updated today.  First of all, I have installed .NET Framework (3.5?).  Windows Update started and downloaded a few other updates, and then asked to restart my computer - on restart received the updates configuration message, but when you have to configure the updates: phase 2 of 3-100% full.  Do not turn off your computer, nothing happens--or my hard drive internal or external are doing something and Ctrl-Alt-Del does nothing.  What should I do next?

Before that, I installed Hallmark Card Studio 2010 Deluxe and received an error message 2738.  Followed the instructions on Microsoft to add two files that had to do with the VB script.  Hallmark installation instructions downloaded then installed .NET Framework 3.5.  The update of Windows has started and installed (I think) 4 critical updates.

  • At startup, updates to Vista is stuck on "Full download 100% - do not turn off your computer". Cannot stop at least stop with button / stop.

At startup, Vista update will start and get blocked msg on "Full download 100% - do not turn off your computer".  Last night on the left that it runs and it took 12.5 hours before finally coming out of the error status and asking for the password.  Could not stop downloading progress with Task Manager/ctrl-alt-del, etc., unless you use the power button / stop.   This severely limits the duration of use and if/when we are able to use it in an hour or two, it black screens and reboots restart fiasco together again.

    Hello 3Ran
Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

Michael Murphy has provided these steps already; I'll just say it in a different way.

Because you can't go to your office, I suggest that you start your computer in safe MODE. Next to normal mode, it is a different way to connect to your computer and makes a few changes when the problem.

HOW TO START YOUR COMPUTER IN SAFE MODE

    1. Restart your computer if it is running.
    2. Press the F8 key after your computer powers initially.
    3. Once you see the menu Advanced Startup Options , you can stop tapping.
    4. Up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.
    5. Select Safe Mode with network and press enter.
    6. You should see loading drivers and then Please wait.
    7. You should then be on the Welcome screen.

Connect to your computer using an account with administrator privileges.
