Problem of product recovery

Hello

My system: W500 with windows vista x 64 and history: in addition to windows, I tried to install linux ubuntu, before doing anything I did product recovery discs and a hot spare - as advised on the linux forum. Windows Disk Manager only allows me to shrink C: drive by more than 1 GB (from 221 GB), so I used GParted from ubuntu live cd. I was warned that he could make vista ubootable and he did, based on ThinkVantage button initially made in the windows error message "Windows couldn't boot...". ', so I started from product recovery to restore the State of vista running. Now the problem: after insert second dvd and, a moment comes when he unzips the contents of (I think) save files, to the primary partition, and then a message appears:

Windows cannot verify the signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or may be malicious software from an unknown source.

When processing file: sdrivebackup.swm. I booted the cd of relief but it only alow me to restore a predefined backup of the system - which I did not.

It turned out to be a hardware problem - processor or motherboard are faulty (memtest86 showed no error, whereas prime95 can run for 10 seconds without error).

What are the lost areas warning or error partitions defined and all that blah, blah, blah, which doesn't help me a lot without YOUR professional opinion.

Following all the instructions on the screen during the recovery procedure did not help. What should do? The hard drive is formatted now, but it does not start. Always a mistake.

Help, please! Thank you very much!

    Hello

    > What are the lost areas warning or error partitions defined and all that blah, blah, blah,.
According to the statement, a HARD disk failure is possible.
You receive a message about lost areas and damaged partitions and in my opinion, this is displayed because the HARD drive is not ok.
If you can try to format the HARD drive, but that won't help I recommend to replace the HARD drive

  • Equium L100 - problems of product recovery

    Hello

Im having serious problems trying to run a recovery of product on my laptop Equium L100.

I restarted the laptop using the recovery disk of the supplied product as described in the user manual and after the re-installation of the drivers of the laptop turns off automatically. I presume it was part of the recovery procedure, and so turned the laptop, to find that, after the Welcome screen, the monitor shows a black screen, hence there is no progress.

I don't know what I can do from this point. I assumed that all the data to the origin of the laptop was dropped, but the laptop does not restart properly and stays on the black screen. Any help that anyone can provide me to complete the process of reformatting would be much appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    James

    Hello James

There's not a trick to get it working again. Either it works or not.
Please try to make the installation of recovery once more. Before that, set the BIOS to default settings and launch the installation of recovery.

When the installation is complete, remove the optical drive installation disc and restart your laptop to see if the same thing will happen again.

    Hello

I could really do with some help here. I have a PC laptop Toshiba Satellite A210 - 1 4. Disk partitioned with Vista home premium service pack 4.0.

Last night, I used the product recovery disc supllied with the laptop in an attempt to restore its initial configuration.

and the end of the procedure, I find myself with a prompt cmd with X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe in the high bit blue box indicating:

Error: imageX could not apply vista F:\05993xsp.swm Index 2 of ODD to C:\!

Press a key to continue. Box disappears then an administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe in the top blue bit indicating:

    waiting for ODD vacancies...

Look for support in the F: drive...
Failed to initialize the raid class.
    No RAID - continue normally...

    X:\Windows\System32 >

Now every time the laptop trying to restart it just comes up with the error message:

Below I have then have the possibility of esc or continue with the same result of the system attempts to restart.

The recovery disc has no option of repair on this subject.

need help please, I have no idea.

    Thank you

    Hello

Looks like something was wrong during the recovery procedure.
Have you tried to recover the laptop once more?
If this isn't the case, you should definitely try this!

You are right; hasn t drive recovery option for the repair because the recovery disk is not the same as a MS Vista drive. The recovery disk contains image files (it s a package) and the files contains Vista, Toshiba drivers, tools and additional software.

So if something was happening well wrung out during the recovery procedure, you will not be able to repair the installation of the OS, but you need to run it again.

  • Product recovery CD's install German WXP

PRODUCT RECOVERY CD INSTALL GERMAN WINDOWS XP.
I can't change Windows XP to British English.
My Tecra 9100 was purchased from the United Kingdom and is the UK version PT910E-5XPZF-EN.
I then installed XP from a different CD and it was evenly divided HD in C & D drives with the German version on C and D on UK version.

    H-E-L-P please!

    Hi Vic

Just no panic please. I hope that we can find a solution to your problem. First of all, I want to know how you want to configure the laptop exactly.

It will also be interesting to know if this different CD was German-speaking and if it is a full installation of Microsoft CD and NOT the restore CD.

  • Tecra S1: Step by step how to reformat HARD drive by using the product recovery CD

OK guys, I'm about to return my lease (Toshiba Tecra S1); because the video card is 'us' and I would like to reformat the drive and return the system to its original state by using the "product recovery cd-rom provided Toshiba."

My problem is that the video card is on the right track and using windows is a challenge quite like its like watching a patchwork blanket. So, when you try to use the recovery of product cd-rom, I can just not read the screen "its comparable to the matrix.

I really need a tutorial step by step with screenshots at each step 'a map of the fool '. Can anyone help.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello Robsta

Believe you did not need the step by step tutorials or shoots screen. The recovery procedure is very simply.

Put the recovery CD in the CD/DVD drive
Turn on the laptop and keep C button for a few seconds
Follow the menu on the screen
Choose option 1 for installation in Standard mode and just follow what is happening on the screen

    It's very strange

The error message says something about RAID but the L30 does not support the RAID and also the RAID drivers are not necessary.

I m a bit confused and I think there could be something wrong with the HARD drive.
Have you tried to reinstall the operating system from the original CD of Microsoft Windows?

Try this format the disk using this CD, and then try again to reinstall the operating system.

If this does not work then a HARD disk problem is possible

    Hello

I think that you´re in serious trouble now. If you have ever tried to get a recovery, unfortunately without success to an ASP, you will need to buy one in the United Kingdom.
It would be best to contact a partner registered in the city of you´ve bought the machine and ask them for a replacement of your lost recovery.

    Any better idea´s? :)

  • Reinstallation of the product recovery disc DLL file

I recently reformatted my hard drive and reloaded Windows XP Home Pro on my M100 Satellite (PSMA0A) from the product recovery disc.

Everything is OK except that I get an error 'Unauthorized repositioning of system DLL' whenever I start the computer?

    The exact error message reads;

    RTHDCPL. EXE, DLL unauthorized system

"The user32.dll system DLL has been moved in memory. The application will not work correctly. The move took place because the dll C:/WINDOWS/system32/HHCTRL. OCX occupied an address box reserved for windows system DLLS. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.

I contacted Toshiba who suggested I need to set up a new user account and then delete the original user account, and this should solve the problem.

.... I did as suggested, although this has not solved the problem...

    Any suggestion please

It will be nice if you can post the link.

  • Tecra M9 does not react to the product recovery CD

I love my Tecra M9. Fast, reliable and effective. I added an extra MB of ram when it is brand new or have added no extra charges.

But its been slow in place, as they do. I had one or two freezes, especially when the plug to the modem is removed, and I deleted somehow Tosh power system in the power options menu.

I thought that it time to re - install the XP.

I tried the fix on f8 when booting, but it just comes back by selecting XP.
(I don't have the menu to fix your computer)

So I backed up the entire hard drive.

I have just a product recovery disc. Put in, turned off, kept pressed f12, active and got the screen re - format.

BUT when the choice of the re - format it does not show the partitions, as it suggests it should. I select default XP and wait for it to go but then get error codes and later, a pc dead.

    ERROR:10CTL_DISK_GET_LENGTH_INFO\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE0

    Then comes

DRIVE HARD #0 IS NOT ACCESSIBLE OR BAD RAID CONFIGURATION

    Then

ERROR: COULD NOT GET DISK PHYSICS IOCTL_DISK_GET_DRIVE_GEOMETRY

I know that one of my sins does not create a bootdisk on a memory stick. I have only just read about it, I thought the CD was a startup disc but apparently not. Yes, I am ignorant.

The thing has an extended warranty, so I thought I'd return it to Tosh. But then again, this is probably not a big problem that needs to return it?

My apologies if I was a fool to the month, but help is appreciated, thanks.

    Hello

It looks like something wrong with a recovery disk. You can try to install Windows using Winows copy disc?
If you did not, try to get one or download.

  • Is the standard Satellite A200 product recovery disc?

It is very regrettable that after reinstalling the product of my Satellite A200 recovery disc, the language is now in Deutsch. Since I got the recovery disc to the center of Toshiba for a replacement, do you not thank they will be replaced by an English version? If so will be affect the entire notebook in its performance, or perhaps a program previously connected may have disappeared or missing.

The product recovery disc is standard for the same unit of model because there is that no product key required?

SP1 = Service Pack 1. This package has been designed by Microsoft and contains all useful and patches hotfixes. All this is designed to repair the operating system and make it better and safer to be used again.

At this time you should not install SP1. It may happen that some problems may occur after the installation of SP1. Toshiba didn't start load SP1.

  • Creating a product recovery disk

    Hello all,.

I currently encounter some technical problems with my Qosmio G20 which are almost certainly related material. Before I have to send my system back to people kind of Toshiba, I want to create a full backup of my current configuration of the system, or more specifically a product custom recovery disk similar to the one provided by Toshiba.

From what I understand of your average product recovery disk, it consists of an operating system that is scratched downwards (usually Windows 95/98) and a disk/partition image (which is to restore). It seems so that it is within the reach of us ordinary people to produce a bespoke, product recovery disc is possible and if so how should we do about it? Also (as my current setup probably carries a little more "inflate" than the original default factory configuration) is it possible to create a multi-disc product recovery solution?

I look forward to any assistance provided.

    Kinder,.
    Lee Hyde.

    Hello Lee

I guess you have preinstalled many useful applications and also optimized OS preinstalled. The same situation is on my laptop Tecra and if something goes wrong (defective HARD drive or a virus) I need hours to install and configure the new OS. Because of that I created my own recovery DVDs and also my own recovery image. To do this, I bought Norton Ghost 10.0.

By using this software, I created my own recovery image and recorded on the second partition. If the BONE is infected with the virus, I am able to recovery OS and it will be as before without any CD or DVD. I browse to the saved image and after 20 minutes, things go back like before.

Of course, you can create bootable DVDs and save the image ghost on DVD. It costs a bit, but trust me it's really good investment. Of course, on the market, you can find many other similar products. Also talk with your friends and colleagues. Maybe one of them has very good experiences in this regard.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you much about the recovery of product multi-disc.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Product recovery discs are missing on my new M50

    Hey,.

Last Wednesday I went down to my shop local curries (Barrow-in-Furness) and bought myself a Toshibe M50 (the box says its a M50-192)

When I went to the store, there are no examples of the laptop in the store (I was only there because the comet to the top of the road had ceased to run another laptop I wanted) - but I was offered the view model that I decided was not in bad nick and I would take.

The young man in the store didn't offer me a discount, but he told me that the startup/recovery discs were not provided with the product and I would make them when you set up the computer later. I took this in good faith and left the store.

When I got home, I have found no function to make the recovery disc for the machine, and none were in the box (which had already been opened because it is the view model). I looked in my manual of toshiba and it includes a section on how to use the recovery discs - but not how to do everything - with a nice picture of what look like pre-made disks. After reviewing my documentation, I noticed that the quick start guide tells me that my box should take various things - computer, ac power cord, documentation and others, AND "product recovery".

Now, after this not-so-brief backround to my situation (Please read elsewhere), I ask my question: should I have received these drives to the store or do they still have them? Or am I supposed to make, but have missed it because the computer is already configured in the Currys store (and if they still have the disks, or I can get them now)?

If someone could shed some light on this problem a little complex for me I would be very grateful ;-)

    ~ Jonathan Story
(The laptop itself is great-even if the graphics card is not quite what was advertised in the store)

    Hi Jonathan

Certainly, the recovery DVDs comes with portable Satellite M50 series. It will be interesting to know if the laptop box was initially closed or you bought the laptop that was perhaps already unpacked.
