• How to change or remove the text automatically added to a provision DITA?

  I am to evaluate FM11 with an eye toward using it to create our manual print (as well as all the stuff of re-use that will allow DITA). I have some experience with DITA authoring in other applications, but FM is new to me.

  It's going to be me and a colleague to show how FM is an improvement on our current manual process (InDesign). In particular, one thing that we need to demonstrate is how we will retain complete control over page layout features (something that we do not easily get in our other XML authoring tool).

  I played with the 'new' model DITA of task/reference/concept because they open, and I am disturbed to see that the text appears automatically in some places and I can't change it or delete it. For example, a < info > tag adds the text 'ADDITIONAL INFORMATION'. We couldn't have this text to appear in our page layouts, or we might want to change it. At the very least, I will need to prove that I have control over the text like this.

  I looked through the Pages of reference, EDDs, DTD, INIs and several other places, and I can't nail down the source of the (unwanted) text. Can someone point me in the right direction?

  Hi ohnehosen...

  These strings are defined in ESD, AutoNumber text in the style of paragraph or on the pages of reference. Looks like you have checked all these places, but they * are * it. One of the problems you can run in FM11 are that you probably use DITA 1.2, and for DITA 1.2 there is a request for separate for each type of topic structure. This means that you will have different EDDs and models to go. If you change a DSP, you will need to import into the corresponding model.

  I strongly suggest that, instead of changing the structure applications by default, you clone first defaults to the names of your choice. Then, you change your custom applications and leave the default apps unmodified for the test. You * will * break the apps at some point (everyone does) and without the default applications unmodified for the test.

  If you do not need the DITA 1.2 model, you can consider using the DITA 1.1 apps, which (I think) are just an app for all types of topics.

  OR... If you want a much more simple and reliable option for PDF of DITA editing, you might see DITA-FMx. This is a product I sell, but it provides enhanced DITA creation and publication tools in FrameMaker.

• MFP HP LaserJet Pro 400 M425dn will not print the text to format 72 points or more

  My workplace has recently bought a M425dn of MFP HP LaserJet Pro 400 all-in-one printer. It works perfectly except for the fact that it will not print text that is 72 points or larger in size. I tried many fonts that are installed with Windows, and all them print correctly to the point size 71.5 or smaller; Another thing simply does not appear in prints. Content which is of size to 72 points or more * fact * affect the flow of the content printed on the page, however. It's like the 72 points or larger text takes up space, but it is completely invisible on the printed page.

  I tested using Microsoft Word 2002 on three separate computers, of which two have installed Windows 7 and Windows Vista installed. The problem is the same on all three computers. The printer is connected via an ethernet cable to our wired network. I have installed the printer software included, and I don't think that there are updates for it that have not been installed up to this point.

• Text - box height problem tool text &amp; confusion

  I struggled to solve a problem of text box in my layout of phone.  I have a box of text at the bottom of the page.  The lower edge of the text box touches the top of the footer area.  If I drag the center of the bottom of the text just below box handle of the text, so that no blue dashed line appears in the text box, it looks good in Muse, but when I download and watch the page on my iPhone, there is an empty space under the text (in addition to the footer area).  If, however, I drag the bottom of the text box so that the dashed blue line is a few lines above the bottom of the text, then the text appears correctly on the iPhone.

  I'm not clear on what this broken blue horizontal line in means of text area, other than the height of the text and the box do not match.  It seems not important since the text is displayed even if the box is theoretically too short.  Perhaps someone can explain what that broke horizontal line way and if it's a problem if it appears in the text box.

  Now, for the confusion, I just today created some paragraph Styles so that I can be sure that my pages are compatible.  It seems that the text box can be sized before applying a paragraph Style, dashed blue line disappeared - no extra space below the text on the iPhone.  Once I applied the paragraph Style, that extra space will appear unless I reduce the text box.  I checked and the paragraph Style has no padding, leading etc., normal.  The footer area is not checked.

  I did a few tests, and the problem is not related to the text box on the top of the footer area.  I inserted another test text box under the "problem" box, and the problem persists - extra space unless I have shorten the height of the text box.  I think it has to do with my paragraph Style, but I don't see what is the cause.  I must emphasize that the other text boxes have the same applied paragraph Style and they don't have any extra space under the text.

  I don't think that your "get extra space." Rather, I suspect the text block is high and narrow, and the text it contains is much shorter in the browser that it appears in Design view in Muse because of differences in the line breaks in the text. It is quite common when using "web safe" fonts and is also true when you view websites in different browsers, browser versions, devices or versions of operating system because of the differences in text layout engines used and available fonts on the device. It is especially common in text frames narrow tall.

  The most effective way to reduce the effect is to use a Web font rather than a 'web safe' police, which will reduce the variation of the layout of the text between the browsers, but ultimately you need to design, with the variations of line in mind, because they are not entirely avoidable. In your case this means that the block of text sizing for minimum height (as indicated by the dotted line) is shorter than the text as it appears in Design view, so when line breaks changes the block of text is reduced in height, rather than leave a space blank at the bottom.

My problem is that some time photoshops brush becomes automatically to normal without any reason and after a while, he returned to the normal state.   You were probably pressing Caps Lock as this allows to switch between the two on the fly.

  It turns out that context menu also applies to links and probably right click in general. The accident report thing happened more than 20 times and the problem of feedback is explicit.

  Now a new problem is all just... whenever I have pass on a link/image/highlighted object, it displays a square where the text should be. Link provided.

• Not getting not automatically created restore points

  I recently changed the size of my drives C and D using a utility partition.

  He stopped the automatic creation of Restore Points. I noticed this because the restore disk cleanup deleting data/shadow copies running did not clearly get out any space on my hard drive. I run Disk Cleanup about every 10 days.
  I tried to re - turn on this; but I'm not able to do. Here's what I did:
  Under Task Scheduler, I have a set trigger in place to create a point of restoring daily at 14:00. My computer is sometimes off in the morning.
  The State of this trigger is activated. This is used to create regular restore points.
  I disabled the trigger to create a restore at startup a point a couple of years. My system has been the creation of restore points every day with the other Tirgger at 14:00 in Task Scheduler.
  Question No. 1: Would it be useful to delete and recreate the trigger for 14:00?
  Question 2: I went into control panel – system and Maintenance – System – the System Protection window and I am able to manually create a restore point.
  I can see my drives C and D on the list. Maybe I think too much about things and read things correctly; but I feel like it's better to ask this question:
  * Should I put a check mark next to my D drive or my C drive?
  I ask this question because the title says in this little window of the System Protection: "create restore automatically on some points:
  So, does that mean that only check box for drive C indicates a place where the restore point will be created physically ("on drive C"), or it means to a restore point to data on the C drive will be created? Is this clear?
  Right now I checked C drive and D drive and not on the list. I'm assuming he's asking me which drive I want backed up.
  (I don't know where the backup restore points are saved/located to go look for them.)
  I see that the last restore point was when I did it manually. The task scheduled for 14:00 does not appear on the list in this little window. However, when I check the history of Task Scheduler, it shows that the task has been completed.

  Restore points are made. Yesterday, after posting the original message/questions, I changed the schedule of the trigger to make a restore point. Maybe something jogging in the system in place. (Not exactly a technical term, I know.)

  Today, I checked the disk cleanup and had much less free space of a few days. I ran clean it point restoration/cliché and cleared space. Then I checked the control panel – system and Maintenance – System – the System Protection window and saw that the restore point the most recent was created today.
  Then...
  Question 1: Maybe change the relaxation time makes a difference.
  Question 2: Place a check mark next to the C drive, which is the drive that you want supported during the restoration.
  Question 3: Everything is fine with this list.

  You can not turn on protection system for a disc is formatted by using the FAT or FAT32 file systems.

  To turn on System Protection

  Open system by clicking Start , right-clicking computer, and then click Properties.

  In the left pane, click system protection.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  Under Parameters of Protection, click the disk, and then click Configure.

  Do one of the following:

  To be able to restore system settings and previous versions of files, click on restore system settings and previous versions of the file.

  To be able to only restore previous versions of files, click only restore previous versions of files.

  Click OK, and then click OK again.

• Problem of text selection in the text field for entry in the emulator

  I'm having a problem of text selection in a text field when I run my application in the emulator Playbook. Let me see if I can expose the problem here:

If I try to click on the same ground once again, another change to the top of 10px or so, etc..

  So why the text not properly selected and why the scene evolves upwards?

  I realize that more information may be required from me to correctly solve this problem, but if someone has all understand why this may be the case, I would be happy to learn from him.

  I can answer the question of displacement.  This is a bug in BB and supposed to be fixed in version «next» SDK

  The question of the selection, I'll guess has to do with the fileld with focus, selection is not possible.  Try to set the focus outside of maybe the text field?
