Problem_publishing VISTA MovieMaker freezes at 31%
Hi, when you try to publish so I can save it in a usable format (avi or wmv) edition starts o.k. to 31%, done with a decrease in time as treatment exercises... to 31%, it gets stuck and then time begins to increase. Let him all night in the hope, it could end-, but he just kept climbing to about 180 minutes at 15,000 and has not moved from 31% published running. I stopped, tried again several times. Opening and closing of the original file of WMM, save a new copy etc but does not.
Would appreciate it really all ideas that the file had hours and hours of editing camcorder source material, would be a pain to lose all the work... Thank you
Hi jennyforrest,

KB915597 cause windows vista to freeze
KB915597 for Windows Defender update causes Windows Vista to freeze. At all times, I have to restart my computer for this reason. And I can't uninstall Windows Defender because it is now integrated into Windows Vista. In addition, I can not uninstall the update. If ever I have to reinstall windows again and uncheck automatic updates, so I can make sure that this update is downloaded or simply live with the question until Microsoft fixes it. Microsoft has released a fix for this error yet? There is nothing wrong with my laptop because I just erased the hard drive and reinstalled vista. I actually discovered this by accident because I reinstalled my operating system before but this freeze happening started and I thought it was a problem of Dell Update.

Inspiron 1525 with vista keeps freezing
I have an inspiron 1525 with Vista installed on it. If I leave my computer be for about 30 minutes then it freezes. Is - it there anyway anyone can help me out here and point me in the right direction?
Hello Mike,.
As a general rule, when you run a computer in Mode safe the suspect will be software or a driver that is used for a specific part of the material. Have you tried a boot clean and troubleshooting session with your machine to determine the program or driver that could be the cause of the problem? Instructions are below that describes this process. Let us know if that helps.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.
This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:
This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:
-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.htmlFor drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have. Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Vista Start, freeze at loading green bar screen then blue and then restart
Sorry if this is a repost, I look for a solution to this for 2 days on various forums and have not experienced this problem yet.I got my PC for about a year, it is a free version, it worked without any problems until a couple of weeks, where it started to slow down like crazy. Unfortunately, I was in College at the time and my brother does me on issues. It would essentially work normally (but a bit slow) and then freeze every few seconds. Once he was able to start - I think that the error message was that the boot files were corrupt or something, but it was an a stop. After about 3 weeks of slow driving, it has started to do the following:
I turn it on and it tries to start. The progress bar green for microsoft vista comes up for a few seconds, then a blue screen of death hot flushes (too fast to read anything on this subject) upward and the PC restarts.
If I try to start in safe mode it freezes while it lists the drivers
its loading. The latest display driver is constantly crcdisk.sys. (I tried all security modes and last good config without result).I put in the recovery disc, choose the language and click Windows repair.
The next dialog box is called System Recovery Options. The problem that I get here, it's that there are no operating system in the list. It says that I should look for the hard disk drivers, but I don't know how to find them. My drive is a 1 to seagate barracuda.Wierdly when I choose the option to install as if I was going to do a complete reinstall did it come with a disk of 1 TB on options and drive didn't spent the short seatools test. When I tried the seatools long test program frozen before the same test started.
The hard drive has a lot of photos and I don't want to lose so I'm hesitant to do a complete reinstall.
I also was not able to run a memory test because I can't find the memory test facility in my BIOS. I found once, but can't seem to figure out where it is more. The motherboard is the gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I think you have a hardware problem with your hard drive. You need to consider (the system) to a competent computer repair shop for service, repair or replacement (or you can send it to the manufacturer for service - check on prices, warranties and other times before deciding). A problem of crcdisk.sys is typical disc hard problem (but it may be other things) - but your problem description convince me that it's the hard drive.
If you can make a drive on another computer, make a recovery disk using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with the burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD (perhaps made on another computer). One of the options on this disc is a Test of memory, so you can at least try it - but the problem is probably not the RAM, but rather the hard drive.
You can use Knoppixhttp://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO as Copier: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm as well as a blank CD (done from another computer). This should give you enough access to the system (if you do not have any other means) to back up your important data, unless the hard drive is so far that even if it won't let you. You can try to slave the drive to another computer and see if you can access the data in this way - if so, at least you will be able to backup your data. If this isn't the case, I'm afraid only a data recovery technician can help and they are very expensive and do not guarantee the results - but the decision is yours.
At this point, if you want you can try a reinstall full (if it works) have nothing to lose. If it works fine. Is that the problem persists, then it's almost certainly the hard drive.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

I have a portable ZGN-Z591U Sony with Vista Ultimate (32 bit). After a period of inactivity, usually about 45 minutes, Vista freezes. To restart, the only way is to do a hard reset (now in the power button). I've recently updated the Bios and Windows with no solution to the problem. Any ideas?
I would try starting from the the Vista CD to get to the recovery console and the command chkdsk from there. If you do not have the normal vista cd so your cell phone provider should have a recovery partition on the disk where you can always get the recovery from there console. You need to go beyond the question of chkdsk first as this is similar to the root of the problem.
There is also a possibility at this stage, the hard disk may be failing. If you have important files on the drive that have not been backed up, I'd this precondition to make a diagnosis more just in case.
