Problem receiving fax on new 6600

My new 6600 fax works very well on my phone line until I have add a telephone with answering machine.  Then it tries to connect but fails. Phone service is through a router broadband from comcast.  He worked for several years until I'm too new broadband services provider, so do not know if the failure is in the telephone or telephone service.

How to do this?

I solved my problem.  I saw a note you need a filter for a phone with an answering machine.  I happened to have a used filter of a dozen years ago and so I tried it.  That solved the problem!   I guess there is something the signals sent our by the responder that interferes with the installation of 6600 fax that should be filtered.  I think we can buy filters at Radio Shack.

FYI, my phone service is embedded in my service to broadband from Comcast.  I guess that qualifies as a DSL service, although I was not sure about it.

On an officejet pro 8600 fax. When faxws are received, I want each sent page just be printed on a sheet, one side. Now, when someone sends a fax to several pages, the printer uses both sides of the paper. I don't want to. I want each sent page just be printed on a sheet on one side. I can't find anywhere in the documentation how to configure to print received faxes only on one face.

    Someone has an idea?

    Hello

From the front panel of the printer, click on the GREEN button at the top of the screen.

Using the arrows, find and tap the Print to Fax duplex option.

Press on print on 1 side.

Any future fax page will be on a separate page. printerd

  • Problems receiving faxes (HP Photosmart 7520)

I recently bought a HP Photosmart 7520 - eAll-in-one printer. I am able to send faxes but cannot receive them. When I receive a fax, this error message appears "unable to receive. I have connected the printer from the port "1 d" to my outlet for telephone service and have used a splitter to connect to my phone at home as well.

When you receive a fax, answering the call of the printer or the home phone?

What can I do to receive faxes properly?

    Hi nishalj,

If the fax arrives at your Fax before it fails, this reduces the possible causes.

Try this link.  Perform the steps 1 and 2 and then move to step 6.  The document is written for a former Photosmart model so the steps may be slightly different but you should be able to track the document.

Special attention to the length of the telephone line cord and dispatchers.

  • How to configure my Mac (OSX Lion) to receive faxes directly from my HP Officejet 6500 +.

I have a Mac OS x Lion and a HP Officejet 6500 +. I would like to save incoming faxes directly to my computer, rather than having the 6500 to print them. I installed the driver of HP6500 on Mac: print and outgoing fax jobs. Using the configuration Print & Scan on Mac System Preferences, I can select the Officejet 6500 fax, click on "receive options" and turn on "receive faxes on this computer": I got him to answer after 1 ring and save faxes to an appropriate folder.

The problem is that the incoming faxes even print directly on the 6500 and are not registered on the computer.

I tried following the instructions on the manual for 6500 located here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02519721.pdf but the indications on page 57 for the implementation using the HP tell me to select the "applications" icon in the toolbar and it isn't here.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well, this got me half way there, thank you.

Once you have installed the software which recommends ShlomiL, then you must enable the option Archive digital as described, which won't be available unless the device is physically connected via a USB cable. Wireless is not an option. The value "Digital Fax archiving" 'Save to Folder' and then choose a folder that is accessible in writing-world. The folder must be specific for incoming and used faxes for anything else! The 'Notification of incoming Fax' value to what you want.

Then go into the front panel of the 6500 and disable printing fax. (There is an option buried under "base set up the fax / Fax HP Digital")

Finally, create an automator workflow that automatically prints any picture of new place in the folder of incoming faxes created there are two steps. Set it to print on a printer laserjet cheap rather than ink-jet 6500 ridiculously expensive. (Or skip this step if you're ok with not having a copy of incoming faxes).

You can ignore the options useful and well-designed integrated on your Apple about "receive faxes on this computer". HP only plays nice with that.

I still hate the HP, but at least now I didn't spend $35 for a new inkjet cartridge every two weeks.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 spits out a blank second page when receiving faxes

I have a brank new Officejet Pro8600 and it's the same as my last HP all-in-one has started doing.  Even if he receives only one fax from page, it seems to read as two pages and also spits out a blank second page.

My frustration is more, because I just replaced my last all-in-one to do the same thing.  It's a waste of paper and very boring.

I'm happy that I got this sent to me, because I was really pulling my hair, and it looks like you are too.  I finally came up with a workaround, that nobody at HP and Verizon could help.

Finally, I changed the configuration of the fax on legal size paper, and it works like a charm.  For some reason, it was as if the received fax was not aligning with the dimensions of the letter, but now that I changed the settings, I have more the problem of paper all this waste.

  • Photosmart 7520 - unable to receive faxes

New photosmart 7520, (Window XP) reception of fax problems. Test Fax - spent, several times report. When first installed and then received fax he stopped receiving.  Uninstalled and reinstalled, I wasn't able to scan either. Scan fine at the moment, but still not able to receive faxes. I have an answering machine on the same line, with the cord from the phone connected to the back of the printer, ext 2, and the fax cord connected to the wall outlet.

    Hi TaTToo214,

    You can send a fax?

How many rings before answer on the printer?

How does that compare on the answering machine?

For a better fit, the printer must be on 6 rings and the answering machine set to 4.

    Please consult this document:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01633010

It's for a different model, but it has good troubleshooting procedures.

  • M1212nf MFP do not automatically receive faxes - I always have to press to receive faxes.

Everything was ok when we bought the thing - he worked for several days without problem.

And then just stoped to receive faxes automatically. It is set up to automatically answer after 5 rings (tried them all, min and max - help do not). Now press the button manually, then it prints it. Line - analog, with phone attached to aio. No dedicated fax line.

Don't have reset to the default values and set to the top a few times, does not work. New firmware - did not help either.

All other work just perfect - scaning, printing, faxing on 12pc (winXP, win7) network.

    Any ideas?

  • How come my received fax fax Fax?

I can fax sent out... How to fix get fax from the direction opposite?

    Hello

Looks like you are able to send faxes and not able to receive it, try the following steps and check:

Also answering these questions that would help us to provide the best solution:

    1. What is the brand and model of the fax you are using?

    2. what exactly happens when you try to receive a fax?

    3. were there any changes made to the computer before the question?

How you can receive faxes depends on the question of if your computer is connected to a fax modem or a fax server.

If your computer is connected to a fax server, you don't need to take action to receive a fax. Instead, whenever your computer is connected to the network, new faxes are automatically sent to your Windows Fax and Scan Inbox. If you use a top or an external fax modem, you must choose how to receive faxes. Take these steps if you are using a top or an external fax modem.

  • Error with the received Fax

We have a new laser jet 400 MFP all-in-one at our reception and have been very happy with it, except for a problem that we have at all times.  When we receive a fax it will recognize it and receiver say page 1, and then he began to compose the 102 and gives us an error.  Later, she will recompose the same number 102.  This happens not on each fax but at least 80% of received fax messages.  When I run the fax test report pass us the test.  When I send faxes are received as we know.  As I mentioned a few faxes come through but most of the time our machine begins numbering 102.  Thanks for your help!

Number 102, is what is used to test the unit after Assembly.  Looks like there in the test configuration.   First thing is to disable the transmission of fax - the screen saver:

    -Press on the Fax icon

    -Press the button menu fax

    -Press on the delivery options

    -advance fax

This parameter must be OFF.  If it is LIT, press OFF.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: Receive faxes with a HP officejet pro 6830 w / answering machine

I had an OLD officejet model that could receive faxes even if the answering machine was not connected directly to the fax machine the 6830 manual says that it must be directly connected.  My current Brother printer does NOT receive faxes because of this problem.  Anyone know if I directly connect my machine to this model (Officejet 6830) to make it work?  I won't buy it if it will not work.

    Hello @JPJ408,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are looking to buy a printer all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 6830 for fax purposes. While the User Guide advise you to plug the answering machine directly on the back of the Officejet unit, it is not necessary.

If you have a fax with an answering machine on her line, the only requirement is that the fax is set to two rings higher than the answering machine. Most of the responders are put back on 4 rings. As a result, you would set your Officejet to automatically pick up on 6 rings. In this way, when a voice is heard, you can manually respond to the call before the answering machine to pick up. If you are not home and then people can still leave messages on your answering machine. If you have a fax to come through, do not respond. The answering machine will pick up after 4 rings. At this point the fax machine "listen" on answering machine message and if fax tones are detected, the fax will take over and receive the fax.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion.

  • Play a voice message before receiving faxes

I have a HP 6500 has connected to my desktop computer that is connected to a telephone VoIP (MagicJack) system.  Through the MJ I can receive faxes, that part works fine.  My question is:

Is it possible to have the HP (or my computer) answer the call, then play a voice message before receiving faxes so that callers 'voice' can be a warning that they called a fax line until they get a blaireing beep sound in their ear?
