Problem SQLDEVELOPER the network adapter could not establish the connection

Hello I have a strange problem with SQL Developer (2.1.63) under Linux (Debian-testing-squeez/sid) version of the version: java java "1.6.0_16.
Java (TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_16 - b01)
Java hotspot Server VM (build 14, 2 - b01, mixed mode)

Java is a debian .deb (sun-java6-jre, sun-java6-jdk).
Whenever I try to connect to a database running on the remote server, I got error the network adapter could not establish the connection.
(connection to base and also tnsnames connection)
Sqlplus on the same machine works very well with the same connection settings, I also try the same SQLDEVELOPER version in the windows box and I had no problem with the connection.

what I tried:
1. in the course of running tcpdump eth0 dst db01x-i on the client and I don't got no network traffic going out of the box
2.i have also tried tcpdump - neither eth0 host 192.168.3.9 and port 1521 on the server database to be sure, but also no traffic
3. put the database server in/etc/hosts nothing change
4. change the level of logging of the SQLDEVELOPER, but no significant errors
5 different versions of the jdbc (ojdbc5.jar, ojdbc6.jar) connector

I'd appreciate any help in this topic.
BR and thx Thomas

This problem is probably with java networks interacting with a new parameter to the default kernel in Debian. Among the bugs identified on this is here - [http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=560056]
Two things to try, from various bug reports, are
(1) "echo 0 >/proc/sys/net/ipv6/bindv6only ' and make this change permanent if it works
(2) edit {sqldeveloper home}/sqldeveloper/bin/sqldeveloper.conf and add the line}
"AddVMOption - Djava .net .preferIPv4Stack = true '.

    (1) what is the user id you are using OEM fior?

The user id should have Sysdba and should not be in the role SYSASM.

    (2) in order to check your port

In server, in the gate of the House, listener, lsnrctl status--> Verify asm instance listed on your listening port.

    Summary of endpoints listening...

(Check that the PORT and IP information is correct)

Instance '+ ASM1' READY State, has 1 operation for this service...

    (3) in addition, connect to asm and check the connection

Show u local_listener and entered into OEM parameter details are correct.

    (4) OEM, I think you add Cluster_ASM.

    Oracle_home_path--> you're grid House

    username--> with sysdbarole

    --> Sysdba role

    Cluster_name--> $GRID_HOME/bin/cemutlo - n

  • I/o error: the network adapter could not establish the connection: connection to oracle database

    Hello

I am not able to connect to the Oracle SQL developer database. I said / 0 error: the network adapter could not establish the connection.

I started the listener, but what I see is, it points to a different IP address instead of the IP address of the host. How to change the name of host or IP address.

I see that it points to the host name in listener.ora.

    Attached the screenshot

Can someone help me solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance

What he says is the listener.ora file is not necessary to start the listener.  If you rename, then start the receiver, then start the db, after a minute or two, the db should automatically register with the listener and then you can make a tnsping or otherwise connect to the database through the listener.

I'm not entirely sure what's going on with your image, but I can't help but wonder if somehow something is not what you expect with the investigation period, whenever it starts.

So use lsnrctl status lsnrctl services to see what the listener is the situation and tnsping and ping from the client to see what he thinks.

  • I had a the network adapter could not establish the connection...

    Hi guys,.
I just downloaded and installed oracle 10g express in my installation of win 7.

I have already created 2 tables and a single user and everything seems to be ok.

but... There is a but! I tried to connect (using the ojdbc14 driver) NetBeans and I got an error "network adapter could not establish the connection.

    the connection string is:

    JDBC:Oracle:thin:@PCs:1251:XE

(pcs is the name of my pc).

    This problem can be?

    Thanks much ;)

Yep, that's what I told you, I tried with "xe" instead of "XE", but I still get the same error...

  • The network adapter could not establish the connection using the external ip address

    Hi team,

Please look in the attached files.

I installed db 11g on my desktop machine (Windows 7, with a local network) and then I created a data source connection in tomcat which was also in the same system and then I deployed my sample web application, everything works fine, I am able to access web applications.

But once that I kept my system with external IP address (excluding local network of my company), oracle gives these following errors when tomcat start

Here is the following URL will display the error during the startup of tomcat.

The network adapter could not establish the connection,

In these two files, listener and tnsnames ora ora, need to change the configurations if I change the Ip address of the system?

even I tried my address keeping external Ip instead if host in these two configuration files, yet this does not work.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you.

Because as I explained - your listener is listening on localhost only. localhost is never accessible to another machine.

Stop your listener, change the listener.ora to listen to on the real machine name and start the receiver.

In addition, your tnsnames.ora points to localhost...

Stop using localhost, unless you only want things to work on the same machine.

  • Test failed: the network adapter could not establish the connection

    Hi friends,
I am trying to connect my database of Jdeveloper 11 g (ADF) it will be by mistake
Test failed: the network adapter could not establish the connection
could u please tell me all the solutions
    Thank you and best regards
    Jocelyne.

    Usual causes are:

    (a) you have a kind of firewall between you and the DB that prevents the connection
    (b) you use the wrong host/port/sid for your database

  • The network adapter could not establish the connection - 17002

    Hello

This issue has been discussed already, but none of the solutions or the circumstances seem to be similar to mine.

    I have W 7 64-bit, SQL Developer 3.2.20.09 and jdk1.7.0_40.

I can connect to "Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production"

but I can't get any connection to "Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64 bit Production" and get the above error message.

It is not a connectivity problem, as I can connect to the database from another application running on my W7 machine or SQLDeveloper on my XP machine.

My customer Oracle seems to be "SQL * more: Production of liberation 11.2.0.3.0.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Thank you, Rob

    Hello

I installed 3.1 SqlDeveloper, JDK 1.6 - but in vain.

Still using the TNS connection type but...

... When I connect via 'login' and not 'network alias' I can connect to the database in question. So, it's ok, even if it's not as convenient as to choose a network from the drop-down list alias.

    Nope...

  • Wireless network adapter could not be activated

My laptop also did EXACTLY the same thing in the morning today.
No effect with the wireless on switch on the computer. The light is always red. Last night an automatic update that happened (update for windows Vista (KB955430) 09/05/2009 09:03), which cannot be deleted. I don't know if this problem is related with the update.

My laptop is HP Pavilion dv6439nr.  Running Windows Vista Home Premium (Service Pack 1).  Wireless adapter is "broadcom wireless 802.11 b/g WLAN PCI" that is gone now.
Windows network diagnostics shows "this computer doesn't have a card installed and configured wireless network."
HP Home Network Center shows "Wireless status: disabled; When I try to enable wireless LAN, it shows "wireless network adapter could not be activated.
I tried to scan and reinstall the driver but the device does not appear.
The wireless router works fine with other laptops.
If anyone has a solution it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Alboury,
It seems at this point that your wireless network adapter has a hardware problem.  Check out this troubleshooting guide step by step on the HP Pavilion support web site.  If you can't get your active wireless card, you will need to contact HP or repair HP authorized repair for hardware Center.
