Yeo,
It seems that if you have problems that are not related to Windows Update.  You can run the following tools and see if they find any problems.

Disk error checking

System File Checker

The system update tool

Those who run and then post back with the results.  Also post the blue screen error if you get another.

    Hello

I run windows vista 64 bit and have a motherboard ASUS striker ultimate with an ATI Radeon 4850 (also ASUS) and a processor intel 2.4 ghz quad core Q6600. Yesterday, I downloaded the optional updates and recommended to my system, at the end of that my system went to restart that failed. I turned off my computer and the screen of the BIOS came to my motherboard. Then I have zero by default, the system and start the computer to the top. My wireless adapter no longer worked and diganose function and repair said he had driver problems. I did a system restore but Hat did not set my start-up problems. I fixed the wireless card drivers, but I still have problems starting. My Hibernate function no longer works, IE will be partially closed but will not again. Also the start of works that after I go into the bios post screen and restore the default values. Does anyone have advice? IM at a loss

    Hi Vanishty2004,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.

Do you remember the optional update that was installed on the machine?

You may need to uninstall the update has been installed on the computer.

It seems that the windows update caused the BIOS of the computer to be updated, which should also address the issue of the hibernation.

Contact your computer manufacturer for an updated BIOS.

    WARNING:

Incorrect version of BIOS update may cause the computer to be unusable. Contact the manufacturer of the computer system administrator for updating the BIOS.

Hope the information will help. Please post back and we do know.

    Thank you & best regards

  • Windows Vista freezing, problems starting mode safe mode, Windows Update does not work, etc.

Hi all. I am operating Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1, 32-bit on an HP Pavilion dv6000.

My problems started about two months ago, when I installed several updates through Windows Update. I started having problems with my USB ports (even if these pilots were not being updated) and the computer was never able to close successfully. I tried to uninstall these updates, but that did not fix the questions I had. I have also installed software (AutoCAD 2007) at the same time and uninstalled, nothing helps.

Then my computer started to freeze after running for a few minutes. Time seems to vary from 5 minutes of good use for 1 hour, but I found that it works only because this so long, I only open a program or file and use it all the time (for example, reading a book in Adobe Acrobat format). If I try to open the program or additional files, go to control panel, etc. (read: if I do everything related to Windows Explorer) the computer crashes. I can still move my cursor but none of the windows meet, and I can't ctrl + alt + delete to enter the Task Manager (I get a black screen).

I was manually shut down my computer every time that happens and boot in SafeMode several times. Sometimes when I try to start safe mode it is hampering the crcdisk file and turns off. It happens not every time, however. Sometimes, when it starts it running the disk check, and there has been some index files that it has been deleted and orphaned files that it has been moved.

I tried to do a system restore to a point before the updates I've installed in October, but my computer has no points system, restore even if he says it was their creation before you install these updates.

The last problem is that when I go to Windows Update, it says that I have never checked for or downloaded the updates in the 15 months that I've had the computer - is not true, I, he lost at the time of all the record of it. So although I would like to provide you with wonderful with a record of what I've updated and people uninstalled, I can't because all this information is gone. In addition, I can't connect to the internet to try to check the news updates, because our internet service runs a USB modem, which is not communicating properly with my computer.

I hope someone has an idea of what's going on. I just can't understand the common point that all these questions arise, my technology skills are somewhat limited, so I hope for a relatively easy solution.

    Sarah

BTW, all my files were backed up on external drives.

I don't know Jack about computers, but I don't know that I went through almost exactly the same thing.  My pc was ok, then in a month or two, it took a nose dive.  something I did was too that much could not think of everything.  A friend told me to reset my bios to default settings and see what happens.  After having spent only 7 hours trying to teach myself on bios, I got stabbed in this area and it worked.  Everything is great runnng.  Now I can even right click on icons without crashing.

  • I use AOL for email and Firefox 9.0.1. Problem started 2 days ago. Before that I put in the two first letters of an email address and he gave me a list of possible. Now I get "undefined" for each possible instead of the email address.

There is no problem after updating to Firefox 9.0.1. My contact list always displays as he did before that this problem occurred. When I type the first letter or two of the email address, it used to give me a list of possible. Now t shows just as "undefined" e-mail address when he gives me suggestions for the address that I type in the invoice line. This means that instead of being able to click on my choice in the possible he gives me, I have to go to my contact list, find the name and then click on it if I send email to a person. If it passes in more ways than one, I either enter the full address or use copy and paste from the list of contacts. It is a huge hassle. Any help is appreciated.

You use like CCleaner cleaning software?

It is possible that there is a problem with the file that stores the data for the "saved form.

Rename or delete the formhistory.sqlite (more formhistory.sqlite - log and formhistory.sqlite.corrupt, if they exist) in the profile folder of Firefox in the case where there is a problem with the file that stores the data for the "saved form.

Which will remove all the data forms, so you can rename formhistory.sqlite to formhistory.sqlite.sav or move the file to another folder in case you need to retrieve recorded data.

If that worked, then you can delete the files renamed.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

    Hi kkle4,

You use the preinstalled version of Windows 7 in Toshiba? I can t find any information in your posting on OS :(

Otherwise I agree with Akuma and you should check the BIOS version and probably an update would be useful. Before you begin to update of the BIOS here are some useful tips:
-Close all running programs (also, antivirus, firewall, etc.)
-Make sure that you are logged on as an administrator
-Unzip all files from zip archive
-Connect the AC adapter before you can update the BIOS and make sure the battery is fully charged

    Hello

Seems that the app is loading at the beginning that creates this message.
You should check the msconfing (in RUN type msconfig and go to the Startup tab)
There, you can check what applications are mentioned.

You can also try to clean the registry with CCleaner. This tool is free and scans the registry and removes garbage from registry

  • Problem starting Equium L40

    Hello

I use F1 to start my Equium L40 every time I tun turn it on. It will then start ok but he forgot the time and date, as soon as I update time / date, the computer works perfectly I can access all my email etc accounts without having to put anything.

The problem started after the replacement of the battery because of that being almost completely dead. I noticed that the computer will not work on AC only without mounted battey but is still charging the battery ok. (if the adapter is ok)

I love the computer and do not really want to buy a new, but it is very frustrating and tedious when I turn it on.

Maybe there is a battery backup I can change to fix the problem?

    Any help would be appreciated?

    Hello

Laptop should also work without battery but connected to the power adapter
So I guess that your motherboard is affected in some way.

If the RTC battery (bios) is empty, the time and date in the BIOS menu would be reset to the default value. But in my opinion, this shouldn't be a problem to use the laptop with AC adapter.

However, the RTC battery can be charged to do that you need to connect the main battery and power adapter and the laptop must be turned on for a longer period of time (18-20 hours).

    Check it out!

Problems of updates Windows XP - how to fix the incorrect Windows XP updates KB2633952 keep asking to install? True, it is that it is already installed on your computer. If hide us, an another previous KB2570791 arises in our updates of Windows and asked to install anything, that it was installed... of the questions repeated and very annoying.  Help, please!

(Microsoft Answers just sent us message have deleted our previous thread, ask for help!) We are simply not that these problems are problems with Windows XP updates related to DST or not?)

Nadia. PA supporter said that your computer is hacked. He may be right. I can't weigh because I don't know what led him to this conclusion. If your computer is hijacked, then you should address that more that you need to fix this minor update. However, under the resolution of your problem to update, you can try this:

    Assume Windows XP

Check the C:\Windows\System32\ directory for the presence of the file tzchange.exe

If the file is not present or if the version of the file is not 5.1.2600.6171 or newer...

Download the update appropriate 2633952 for your platform here:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2633952

Run with - extract switch (e.g., Start > run > "[path to the downloaded file] \WindowsXP-KB2633952-x86-ENU.exe"-x)

Of course, replace [path to the downloaded file] with the path to the downloaded file.

Citations may or may not be required depending on the path. Place the x - out the citations if you use them.

Choose a location for the extracted files (a new folder is recommended)

Locate the extracted files. File tzchange.exe you want and copy it into C:\windows\System32

That rerun Windows Update detection to see if the problem is resolved.

  • Problem with update vista

    Hello

I have a similar problem on an issue which was published in 2009 and who was never apparently resolved.

I have installed the latest updates 'critiques' to my computer that runs vista standard 32-bit and initially things seemed to work, although very slow. First obvious thing that's happened is that the toolbar has changed to a classic type of view (and would not change the type of which I chose) and the system worked extremely slowly (i.e. it took about 20 minutes to open a file on my desktop). I went to reboot the computer and goes really slow. I did a hard stop down, went to safe mode and went to the restoration of the previous system, while everything was fine. My mistake, I didn't prevent download does not happen and the system went through the same as above, except that when I shut down the computer it wen by entirely. When I rebooted the problem was still there, so I made a firm hard to be able to quickly access the safe mode.

It is then the real problem started. SafeMode from got stuck and would not move forward after waiting half an hour. I did another hard to stop to see if the problem would be right and that he intended to run for at least an hour to try and get through the system restore. The computer is now in a loop without end. start windows normally happen to the installation screen step updates 3 of 3 stays at 0% and then restarts. If I try to go to safe mode because soon it passes through all the list of files, it goes to a black screen then restarts.

I have no access to my office and have no idea how to fix this. I'd rather not have the system wiped and reinstalled if it can be avoided. Unfortunately, I don't have the codes to which updates have been installed, unless there is a way to access in a way that me are less familiar with.

    Help!

It cannot start in normal mode OR safe.

  • Vista - video problems after updates

I went to shut my computer down about two weeks ago and he told me there were four updates, so I gave in and went to bed. The next morningarting the computer problems started. There seems to be a problem with the graphics and it could freeze after a while. I had the same problems with another computer just after having updated and he had taken home. They told me it was the graphics card and replaced it under warranty. I found it strange that both computers had the same problem at the same time. Given that the extended warranty on this computer was just exhausted I took to another store and after explaining what happened and work on it for three days, everyone came to the conclusion that it was the updates that caused remember there was nothing they could do! So I searched the Internet for a solution and found that it is a common phenomenon. Now I'm supposed to just buy a new computer? I don't have much that won't happen again with a new computer, given the frequency of this problem seems to be trust.

Never install any Windows updates hardware drivers.
