• Windows Update Agent fails to detect the updates (Windows Server WSUS with SCCM)

  We recently integreated WSUS in SCCM 2012, which means WSUS updates are now provided through the software Center instead of through the Windows Update client. This does not work as expected.

  However, we are using Kaspersky Endpoint Security, which has a function of software vulnerability report that we want to use. This could inform us of all the machines that do not have all their updates installed. It is a simpler than using SCCM reports interface. When searching for vulnerabilities, Kaspersky Network agent uses the Windows Update Agent service to find updates in WSUS. This function does not work on our customers, where it can detect a single Windows Update. I have a transcript example from the WindowsUpdate.log file below:

Initially, this laptop has a HDD with Windows 8. I changed the boot order to boot from the USB drive and the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive several times and have still no chance to start to the top of the installation. Is there a solution to this problem?

Now, I want to save my data on this disk via timemachine. However, I can only address the disk drive HARD internal as target to be saved on timemachine.   If I understand correctly what you did, the external SSD is the drive that you start the computer with. As such it cannot be too much to your Time Machine drive. Since the internal hard drive is not the boot drive, it is the logical location for backups Time Machine, which is what Time Machine. Time Machine is not 'see' the SSD external because it is the boot drive.

  Im getting OSD works on Dell Optiplex 7040 with SCCM 2007 (Winpe30) of evil. No response from the mouse or keyboard in PE. I created a bootimage with the latest Dell WinPE drivers (tried A18 and A19). Driverpack WinPE from Dell contains 30 USB and 3.1 drivers but no luck-USB. Looks like the Optiplex 7040 have only ports of USB30.
  This isn't a problem in our environment SCCM 2012 (WinPE10).

  Solved... BIOS has been the root cause. Fra 1.2.1 to 1.2.8 BIOS update fixed the issues.

  Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  For this problem, you will need to contact the PC manufacturer.  If they do not restore disk there probably a restore hard disk partition.  If that's the case then you should be able to access at startup to restore your system if not factory (this will erase all data on the disc normally).  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  We have a server windows 2012 R2 with MSSQL server 2014.

  The client software uses the jdbc for database connection. If customers make a query which collects a massive amount of data the whole thing slowed down after a while.

  Then, his need to wait 10-20 minutes to speed up again. I have tested and tried everything.

  -installed a virtual machine with the windows client and the real customer use the virtual environment via rdp

  -tried to migrate the virtual machine to another host

  Vmxnet3 much faster and have less overhead, but this question of sql, I have a problem with that. So I go back to the E1000 for now. Its slower eat more cpu but the sql connections works very well without any problems.

  Can someone tell me what I can try harder to identify the vmxnet3 problem? I really need it to improve network performance and lower overhead, but the rapid sql is the top priority.

  We had exactly the same problem on our SQL servers once upgraded to Vsphere6.This is due to Receive Segment coalescence feature in new VMXNET3-nics on Win 2012.

  The best way to solve this problem is to turn it off completely in the server operating system (in the admin command prompt):

  It's fast and easy without downtime or disruptions and involves no change types of nic.

  After doing this on all our SQL and application servers, everything was ok.
