Problem with putting satellite Pro 6000 switch

In recent weeks, I have a problem with my laptop to start. With the battery or not, the situation seems to be the same. Even when I remove the battery and plug in DC. Then the Green led DC lights, but pressing the button does not turn on the laptop.

Sometimes, after a few attempts for laptop turns all of a sudden, but dies after a few minutes or seconds. Then turn on non-diode, or DC-led is orange flashing.
Is the service inevitable?

Thx for the answer.

Hello

Yes, I'm afraid.
If the domain controller is plugged in and the indicator light will Flash orange then I guess there is a problem with the hardware.
Maybe a dysfunction of the motherboard.
The Toshiba service partner should check the laptop. Guys can read the flashing code and I'm sure they will solve this problem.

    Hi Eltgen

Sorry, but it is not easy to tell what the problem is on that path. If I understand you well you have built in a new floppy drive, because the old one was faulty. Am I wrong?

It will be interesting to know is the new part already used. Perhaps is the new one also defective. I hope that a little light is on if you put the disc inside.

Indeed some older hardware options are not compatible with Vista. But if the 3rd party software supports Vista will not be problem using these devices.
You know that Vista is a new OS and Microsoft releases patches and fixes regularly very important.

I noticed this last fix that resolves to many USB issued under Vista:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/941600/en-us

I recommend the update to the Vista from time to time to fix some bugs in the OS

    Hello

I put t know what problem you have, but check the status of the WIFI card in Device Manager. After this check, if the card is correctly enabled or disabled. If the map is successfully activated the laptop should be able to see WLAN network. If this isn't the case, I assume that there is a problem with the wireless network card.

    Hello

We need to change and optimize battery usage settings.
This is possible in power management.
You can decrease the screen brightness and can change another option which is located in the Windows 7 power management.

The point is that the battery depends on its use for laptop and you will still notice different battery due to the use of different software and different settings working time.

  • Satellite Pro 6000 - horizontal line on top

I have a problem with my toshiba Pro 6000 1.2 Ghz, since I installed the new bios or new drivers windows Toshiba video.

In fact only 6000 has a screen of 15-inch (and not the 14-inch), and when I start it up I see everything, but with a horizontal line at the top of the screen (which change color, can be white with text mode, being black or blue under windows, etc.). The text screen is pressed by about 2 cm from the edge in text mode (during booting, for example.) Red logo Toshiba at the beginning).

It seems that the Bios (or pilots, but I do not think because that's also how during startup) does not correctly handle screen 15 inch laptop computer. I installed the version 1.60 of the Bios. I don't remember the version I was using before.

If I install a 14 inch screen, I don't have the line and I don't have the text squeezed by 2 cm from the top screen.

According to me, but I'm not sure that the problem is not hardware, but more by a software problem (I hope).

    Thank you in advance.

I don't know if it will help, but in the BIOS, you will find an option called «stretch LCD Display»
Try to disable or enable this setting

    Gr. R.

    Hello

In my opinion, there should be no problem with the use of Windows XP on this unit.
As far as I know the laptop came with WinXp pro, W2k and Win98SE.
In this case, all required drivers are available and must be installed in the correct order.
I assume that the installation and the installation procedure has been authorized. Did you install it on a second partition? You format the HDD to NTFS?

    Display Toshiba SP6000 (?) Problem

I am not a technician, but I assume that there is probably a problem with the video card. I'm afraid there is not much to do. You should contact the service and make them run tests to verify the functionality of the video card. If the card is faulty, just replacement will help.

  • Updated by Satellite Pro 6000 with a DVD burner - technical question

Hi all, I just bought a DVD burner that is adapted to the Bay of selection to replace the old DVD player...
He came 'naked', so I thought I'd just disassemble the frame of the old drive and put it on the new...

But: not the slightest Phillips screwdriver will integrate these screws; in fact, they look very special and I do not know how to remove...
Should I have any instrument/tool special and if so, where do I get it? Maybe I'm too blonde...

    Someone here who can help?

    Thanks in advance! lionesse62

    Hello

You need a special screwdriver to remove the module bay select (CD/DVD drive).
A 2 mm screwdriver Phillips, a pilot of flat blade screw 4mm and a LHSTIX of 4mm screwdriver.

I think you should visit a laptop computer technician if you n t have the right tool to remove these screws.

    However, if you want to remove the module bay select the Satellite Pro 6000 laptop then follow this instruction;

    (1) turn the computer
    (2) when the lock screw is in the locked position, remove the screws and fix it on the hole to keep her temporarily locking screws.
    (3) slide the lever and pull place the selectable bay module.

After you remove the DVD rom, you need to remove the connector and the connector cover. The connector cover is fixed with screws of black 2M2x8 liaison.
The frame is blocked with five super flat head white M2x3 screw.

As I said, if you can not remove these screws and then ask a technician for help.

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro 6000 RAM upgrade problems

Apologies for multiple - originally, I put this in the Satellite rather than the Satellite Pro series Forum.

I have an old Satellite Pro 6000 that has 256 MB of RAM in it, and accordingly, as he tries harder sound, it is not the fastest machines.

I want to increase the RAM to 1 GB, which I believe is the maximum and 2 sticks of memory of 512 MB PC133 CL3 3.3V, which I think should work fine.

However, I tried to install either as a pair or separately, with the 256 MB of RAM, and when I put the memory in, the PC resolutely refuses to start. The lights of power lights, but it is only it works.

I put the original 256 MB of RAM in the slot, and it works fine.

I'm something wrong or missing something?

    Any help appreciated gratefully.

    Hello

    > Am I something wrong or missing something?
Of course, you use the memory bad or is not compatible!

Initialization not after an upgrade of memory is a common behavior if the modules are not compatible or do not work.

You can upgrade the memory to 1024 MB (2x512MB) max and page Toshiba should run these modules:
    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)

  • The Satellite Pro 6000 motherboard is compatible with the satellite Pro 6100?

    Hello, need information about mainbord...
Is the the same Satellite Pro 6000 and 6100 mainbord?

Satellite Pro 6000 belongs to the PS600E series, and it supports the Celeron and PIII-M (Mobile) processor.

The Satellite Pro 6100 belongs to the series of PS610E and supports the CPU P4 - M (Mobile).

The two laptops are very similar so eventually Sat Pro 6000 motherboard could enter Satellite Pro 6100.
