Hello diannemaloney,

Your computer starts in Windows when you turn it on or are you first the message above?  I suggest trying to boot mode safe mode and see if you duplicate this.  What version of Windows are you using?  Please let us know status.

  • Problem with newest flash drive and restoring the system

    Greetings,

SYSTEM - Windows XP SP3 with browser Firefox 5.0

I run an anti-virus scan every day on my PC (Avast free 6.0.1023 with the updated definitions).

Then I downloaded the latest version of the Flash player on your site at www.adobe.com/downloads/ last night but it was not installed.

Ran a virus on the plug-in installation file and scan scan has reported that he was not able to scan multiple files because they were protected by password in archive - NEVER SAW THIS BEFORE.

So I deleted the file from archive.

This morning when I ran an antivirus scan everyday, he pointed out that several protected files in the last system restore point since the installation of Flash player file.

So I tried to restore from Friday, the previous week, but the restore operation failed.

Tried two days last month and the month before that; no notice of restore.

Finally, I shut down the system, restore and rebooted the PC to erase all data in restore file.

Then restarted system restore and ran the antivirus and all is well again.

I used restoring the system previously on this computer without any problem.

Also, I noticed the name of file to Setup plug-in is not the format of the normal name - install_flashplayer10_mssd_aih.exe

    instead of install_flashplayer.exe.

I'm confused, why change a system that works?

Thank you for your time and your help.

Try to download installers from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

  • System Restore: restore the system on windows v6 is completely unpredictible. I have complained__about this to Microsoft with no response.

Several times, even after doing a system recovery, which restores you computer Setup, I would try sometimes to try restoring the system Windows Vista. How in the name of carnations, "system Restore" fail to restore to a chosen restore point and indicates that the system restore has been
unsucessfull even after making a full recovery of the system?   I asked Microsoft through some corresponce on this problem.  No response from them.
I also believe that when I bought the computer, the windows (OS) v6 was not complete, is why Microsoft had to develop the SP1 and SP2 as a Patch.
Windows 7 may have solved that problem, however. I think that it is totally unprofessional and unethical, especially when you have to pay somewhere between $100-$200 for Windows 7. Also, don't waste your time talking to a microsoft technician, because many of these people are in the Philippines or the India and less you do know. In addition they will charge your card credit $49-59 $ by incident, and the service they provide to solve your problem is not competent. Then you must dispute the charge (s) with your credit card company in order to remove.

As for me, my next computer will be a GICA (Apple) or Macbook Pro which has simplified superior of the operating system and
has no problems that any (OS) has with Microsoft. In the meantime, because of the way microsoft conducts its activities until they come out with a "patch".
as an update to windows or what ever:

[1] do not use Windows system restore if you have a problem with your system and must go back to an earlier time.
[2] I would suggest that you restart your computer, and when rebooting press and hold F8 until see you highllighted with the cursor options. Move the slider down to "restore your compare to last good configuration ' and press ENTER. (You can also enter the BIOS and do the same thing) and then wait for your computer to restart.
If your like me, because of this problem I reinstall my full operating system, but still once attention - system restore may not work.
[3] do not try and reinstall the system restore .exe - because once again because this will not guarantee that system restore will work.

    Hello

If you have problems with the process of recovery of manufacturers, contact the manufacturer

It's their recovery process not microsofts

    ________________________________________________________________________

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista, if the recovery discs, you have done do not work

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    HP is F11

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

  • Is there a way to restore the system to factory setting

    Original title: Reinstalling windows

I would like to restore or reinstall the system on my computer because my computer appears to be infected with the virus and there are a lot of problem with the system as impossible to install net framework. I have never create any point before restoration, and the recovery of the manufacturing company (Acer) tool does not work for reasons unknown. I would like to know if there is a way to restore the system to factory setting. And also, if I have the windows 7 key product that comes with this computer (I think that its probably an OEM product key), what I have to buy a new key of product if I reinstall windows 7 on this computer?

    Thank you for your reply,

However, I tried with the Acer eRecovery Management and there are two problems:

    • I open Acer eRecovery than Management with System Manager. When I click on restore or create Factory default disc, it says please wait and there is an infinite loading.
    • Also, when I use Alt + F10 to open, it says please complete operating system configuration process.

Scores of recovery and/or access to them can get damaged.

As the partition recovery is photographed on the hard drive by Acer in the manufacture of your machine, we have nothing to do with changing/fixing this recovery process once there are problems with it.

As you have a preinstalled OEM license (Acer, Dell, HP, etc.), contact the manufacturer of your computer to order recovery media that they need to provide for a fee.

Or you can also borrow the same exact retail edition DVD of Windows 7 and use your product key to reinstall.

But Acer does not normally keep recovery disks for you to buy for older operating systems, so it comes down to borrow the exact same edition of Windows 7 DVD to a friend, etc. and by using the product key on the COA sticker on your machine.

This is what looks like a sticker of COS:

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC: restore the system and drivers

Hello. A few days ago I faced a bad experience with my laptop HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. System crashed. At any time, I tried to turn it on, an error message appears and the system was blocked. The message was: FILE: \BOOT\BCD status 0xc000000f, asking for the disc of Windows 7 system running. But the system disk did not run at all. I checked the situation and found the hard drive with 6 partitions instead of 2. I found a named partition BOOT (X which was a replica of C:.)  When I tried to restore the system with the recovery disc, something has obtained control of the recovery disc, so that C: might not be formatted; nor was X:. Also, I tried to cancel the file in X: but disc was protected and does not allow changes. If only I could get my uninstalled hard drive and all partitions have been cleaned. I got my hard drive cleaned perfectly, but my recovery disk can be installed correctly. So, the system has not yet restored. My question is: what should I do to get my laptop with the system restore? any ideas?

When you request support, please provide the number full name or product model of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

None of these discs come with your HP computer and must be downloaded or created in Windows.

Start by using your HP recovery disk set (should be DVD 3 or more). Insert the #1 disc and restart your computer to start the process. Insert the remaining disks as requested, until the recovery is complete.

If this does not work, and you can read the product key 25 character Microsoft Windows 7 on th COST Microsoft attached to your computer, see "How to install Windows 7 without the disc" for download Windows 7 SP1, create the Windows installation DVD and install Windows 7.  If you prefer to install Windows 7 from a USB Flash drive, please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash Drive. Help us understand what "I lost the ability to restore the system" actually mean for you...

Are you unable to launch/open the system restore?
Are you unable to create a new Restore Point manually?
Your system restore calendar is empty dates?
You preform a restore and get a message that has failed or nothing has changed?

If the restore in safe mode will not do, keep reading:

It would be useful to know a few things about your system:

What is your system brand and model?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

What do you see (exactly) that you don't think you should see, and when you see it?

What do not you think that you should see?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

  • Virus protection scans and restoring the system

I am running Windows XP SP3 on a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop that was purchased in 2005.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had trouble with a browser hijacking, in the form of two executables: b.exe and msa.exe.  I deleted them, cleaned my registry with CCleaner upwards, and now I can use my browser again.

    HOWEVER...

There seems to be something else that hover on my computer.  I can't run Spybot - S & D, WinPatrol, or the Microsoft Windows malicious software removal tool.

In the case of Spybot, I initially managed to run a scan, but it failed after less than a minute and now any attempt to reopen the program gives me the error message "Windows cannot access the specified device, file, or path. May not permissions to access you the item. »

For WinPatrol, I never received the same error message; I can't open the program.

For the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, I was able to extract after downloading and running the scan, but it lasted less than 30 seconds before crashing as Spybot.  Now I can't seem to reply to all - no error message or anything.

I have Norton Internet Security 2009 on my computer.  It can start and analyze, but is not picking anything up.  He has not yet identify b.exe and malicious msa.exe, so there may be something wrong with her as well.

And Yes, before ask you, I have tried to run the scans in Mode safe mode with networking, nothing helps.  It will just work.

I also tried restoring the system twice, using two different restore points.  My computer tells me that nothing has changed in the system and therefore don't restore; This of course isn't the case since I obviously wasn't having this problem yesterday.

    Please, please, please help me!

An infection on your computer, probably a rootkit , look at what you do.  When he sees an attempt to run a program of security such as Spybot, he kills the program and how to change the permissions on executable to prevent you to run the program again.  The rootkit is probably do other nasty things that you can't see, like sending spam or to join a botnet .

You can run antivirus scanners and removal of rootkit programs available on the Internet and we hope that they can fix it, but the only solution is to reformat the drive and reinstall Windows.  That's what I had to do recently, on a computer owned by one of my clients in consultation, who did exactly what you describe.  Several analyses of virus and rootkit did not help.

I wish I had a better solution for you.   :-(

  • restore the system restore point specified

Direct device X picked up for any reason and other software elements have been corrupted. You want to restore the system to the State at a point before the problem developed. Did online with tech factory rep when the card sound and problem driver when it was still under warranty but forgot the appropriate stgeps in the process.

It's my understanding that is not very technical, not involved, but certain measures must be taken in order. I just need to know how to run it.  Thank you

  • RDPCLIP. EXE missing startup file (system32 dir). Unable to restore the system because of missing file unspecified.

Windows 7 (new machine, not updated). Autoruns shows this file RDPCLIP. EXE be found at startup. This file is usually located in the System32folder. Unable to restore the system of time earlier because of unspecified missing file (rdpclip.exe?). System seems to be runnuing normally except these two questions. Occasional freezes (once just by renaming the downloads folder). How can I get
new file restored to the version of Windows 7?

Note: CLIP.exe is in the System32 directory.

    Hi bigdome6984,

If your machine acts as a Terminal Server, i.e. someone else connects to your computer using remote desktop, then rdpclip.exe will be loaded on your computer as part of the functionality of Server Terminal Server.

RDSCLIP is loaded on the computer, allowing other machines to connect via Remote Desktop.

It should be found at the following registry location:

    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlset\Control\Terminal Server\Wds\rdpwd\StartupPrograms

Important Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Cannot restore the system image backup in Windows 7

    Hello

Im trying to use the recovery process of Win7 system standard Image for the first time and its does not work.  I'm recovering the image on my hard C primary, internal to the system drive.  I backed up correctly a Win7 system on an external hard drive image.  To restore I connect in the Control Panel on my system (still ongoing) and select the advanced option to retrieve my disc image.  The process stops then the pc and it restarts automatically.  Then he finished "Windows loading files...". "Then I select my keyboard for data entry, click ok.   Then the process correctly detects and automatically selects my last image of backup on the external drive system.    The next step begins the problem.

The option 'delete existing partitions to reformat the drive... '. "is grayed out and inaccessible.  The only other option is: "install the drivers for the drives, you are restoing to... could solve the problem."  Also, "insert media for the device and click OK to install the drivers." I have a new HP Pavilion Desktop with Wn7-64 bit and HP has its own recovery on C partition and there is also another unknown partition (to me) it.  I was provided the only brackets installtion / have the HP recovery disk and the recovery of Win7 boot floppies that I burned after buying oringal.  Therefore, I select the button Install Drivers with no media of installtion and I see the Windows/System32/drivers folder. I can only select one driver at a time, I tried what I thought were the pilots of C - IE disk.sys, partmgr.sys, snapman.sys and tdrpm.sys and all of them return the error msg "specific location contains no information about your hardware."  I also tried to use the two recovery discs that I burned, but they resulted in a similarly generic error message.

Drive C is very well so I am at a huge loss as to what the standard restore process of the operationg system image is looking for and why missing drivers for drive C?  Can someone please explain what this process needs so I can restore the system image?

    Thank you, roggsf

FYI... I was able to recover my Win7 System Image by using the external backup and the ERD of Win7.  I am now more confident that backups of the system can be invoked in the event of a disaster.

The process was/is still a bit confusing because it faced the same problems with the possibility of "remove existing divides to reformat the drive" grayed out and inaccessible.  And the other option: "install the drivers for the drives, you are restoing to... could solve the problem" is still a mystery to me.  However, using the repair disk, I was able to bypass the need to use one of these two options, click Next, and start and finish the process of recovering successfully.

I hope that someone will be examine and solve problems with recovery only the Panel since it is the recommended approach (to a working system).  I'm a happy computeree once more.  Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Is there a process or program that I can use to restore the system and configuration of the system to the original

    Hello

I would like to know if there is a microsoft tool or a suggested list of Microsoft that could help me restore the system and the system configuration files in the appropriate State. is not the restoration of the system. I don't know of retoring my computer to an earlier time, nor on the restoration of computer purchase.

I thought that my computer has been compromised in some way, and the intruder was accessing my unit via some sort of connection distance.

I received the support of the malicious software company, and I think that my computer is fine now.

And so the question with which I opened this post: I would like to know if there is a Microsoft tool or a suggested list of Microsoft that would help me to restore the system and the system configuration files in the appropriate State. I'm not taling about system restore. I speak not of retoring my computer to an earlier time.

Whenever I start to notice the strange behaviour of my computer, I would like to launch this program and follow this procedure to reset all the settings and files to a suitable State. The reason why run alone to detect malware problems, and that if there is remote access to my computer inadvertently, the intruder can do a lot of editing of files which is not identified by the malware. and I believe that if I was able to run a program like this, all the changes took place, which expose my device, but the rules of behavior systems can be reversed for a proper state.

I read an article on how to repair my operating system, but it forced me to get a copy of it; However, given that the supplied operating system with preinstalled on this computer, I could not follow the instructions. Article I read to all system and configuration files that meet the standards of the manufacturer, without losing files and installed programs.
