Problem with the HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer: clean the print heads each time it is turned on

Hello everyone,

the printer HP all-in-one Officejet Pro 8500 (A909a - product n. CB022A) clean the print heads whenever I turn it on. This problem affects any HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer, it is not a problem only of this one I bought. It is a boring bug and annoying because each power clean print heads on involves two bad disadvantages:

  1. waste of ink (each heads cleaning process consumes little ink);
  2. too much time (2-3 minutes) to prepare the printer after plugging.

I upgraded my printer with the latest firmware available on the HP site (firmware ver. DLM1FN1006BR), but the bug is still present.

At this point, I ask:

  1. There is a way (or procedure) to disable automatic cleaning this useless to all power on?
  2. Can we communicate with the HP engineers or tell me how to contact directly one of them to indicate the bug and request a new firmware updated?

Please don't tell me to leave the printer on all the time or that the printheads to each cleaning power is normal behavior! Where then are power and ink savings claimed for this printer model?

I hope that a solution to this problem. Thanks in advance to everyone will help me!

Maintenance when the printer is turned on is normal and is required to keep the printheads in good health (not blocked). See here for more information.

With respect to energy savings, the printer automatically goes to low power mode when the don't feel not for awhile.  It is not necessary turn the unit on to save energy.

Hello! I have problems with the Illustrator. I link images, close the file, but when I opened again all the links is not respected and turn to the software! Linked images are PSD files, apparently without any problem. Anyone?

Thank you, but the problem was simple: the box to save the file was with the option 'include linked files' and I do not understand. I never click on this option, but I discovered that my friend had clicked on this (we have both worked with the same campaign files).

And as for the pdf compatibility, I thought this could be the cause of the problem and I have enabled sometimes and try to save it again, but it wasn't the cause. And Yes, the file remains much better with less than half the original size ():

  • OfficeJet pro 8500: print heads and things

OK, maybe it's a bit confusing. I have three printers Officejet 8500. No. 1 went into a never-ending cycle of clean print heads (after more than 30,000 pages) and without me being in the room the right side of the printer depot of ink on the table. Tried the reset but not good. Bought a second hand and after a few weeks, it came in paper jam mode. Could not resolve so finally bought number three. Works a treat and has no problem. Numbers one and two are for recycling. Print heads removed and stored in an airtight box with damp cloth. What is staging. Now after spending all that money, the last thing I want, it's having problems with number three. However, I have three cartridge sets new and unopened from PC World (their own brand) which cost £39. They came with the number two of the machine. They are not dated and has no way to know at what age they are. They are not oem, I can't any advice on their likely performance, but what worries me, is can the ink begins to solidify and block print heads as they age? Like I said they are still sealed. If I change the cartridge and use a spare set of the print heads to check the print output and that something is wrong if I can swap cartridges and print heads back without the printer enter the cycle of constant head cleaning. I know there have been issues with these printers but mine is on 27 000 pages and all tests are reports back in good health. I have also several chips of HP cartridges genuine that I can use.  Sorry as that a little long-winded.

    Hello @notahappybunny,

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand that you have some questions and concerns about your ink cartridges non OEM 8500 and some.

    I would like to help.

The following document explains on the expiry of the ink.

Consumable inkjet HP - ink Expiration

From what I've read, it's I think I understand that the ink may change over time.

Because ink is sealed I don't think they're going to solidify, but the pigment used in the ink may eventually separate from water. This will certainly cause print quality problems.

In addition, your first 8500 printhead might not be good.

A bad print head may cause the impression of entering the cycle without end cleaning.

I hope that I have answered your question.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 prints incorrect color photo

My new Officejet pro 8500 prints once accuate color. But then, when I print another photo that is Lavender in color.

I restarted. I reinstalled it. The problem still persists. What else can I try?

    Gibas

    Hello Gibas,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

It might be possible that the poor quality of the image when printing with the 8500 is due to print heads. Given that you have uninstalled, restarted, etc it may be preferable to focus on them.

You can try to clean the print heads, this guide will show you the correct way to clean: "the following printhead appears to be missing or corrupt" or "the following printhead has a problem" Message displays on the all-in-one.

  • Unanswered: how to turn off the light touch screen with an HP Officejet Pro 8500 has?

    Hello

I have a new HP Officejet Pro 8500 connected via WiFi and all A910g seems to work very well (after solving some Comodo firewall settings on the PC network).

However, the light of the touchscreen is quite annoying when the screen is not necessary. Only a few times, I noticed the light went away, but I can't find an option to control that. Normally, the light just stay on (all night too) all by displaying commercial product tour. I really want this boring commercial to go and have a time-out to a black screen that opens again when they are hit. I can't imagine that the functionality is not yet there, but where?

    Kind regards

    -Charles

    Hello

Post the rather unexpected answer myself.

There is also an option of installation menu (in English). Tools | Screen saver.

It is also an On / Off radio button.

If you think setting the screen saver 'On' would be empty the screen after a timeout, you got it all wrong, as if I were.

The screensaver is actually the commercial product tour rehearsal.

The "Off" screen saver setting had the desired effect. "

    Kind regards

  • OfficeJet 8500 has 910: Macbook Pro won't find my Officejet Pro 8500 printer

Until recently, my Officejet 8500 910 has worked very well with my Macbook Pro, desktop computer wireless Mac and iPad.  Now, it will not be printed with any of these devices. Yesterday, he worked with my iPad, but today it says that it cannot find the printer. On my Macbook and desktop computer, it is impossible to find the printer when I try to add.  You can find the scanner and fax part of my all-in-one, but not the printer. I deleted all my printers and tried to add this back.  I've stopped and restarted. I checked that my printer is connected.

I have same thing happened with a HP wireless printer in the 8600 series to work.  Sometimes he would find and connect.  Other times, it wouldn't. I appreciate all help.  Thank you!

    Hey @Jeanne33,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I see that your Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-One Printer does not appear on your network. I can help you with that.

    1. As you only use Apple products means that the printer is no longer connected to your network or a parameter has been changed on your network. That being said, this is what we will do:
      Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is off, remove the power cord at the back of the router for a minute.
    3. When the lights came on the router, turn on the printer.
    4. Try to print.

At this point if you are not able to print, then we will do the following:

    1. On the printer, click on Configuration, network and wireless view summary.
    2. If you see a line indicating connected the printer is properly connected to the network. If this is not the case, then, from the main screen, click on Configuration, network and wireless configuration wizard to add the printer to your network. Try once done printing.

At this point, you should be able to print. If the printer still doesn't seem to add as a device for the Mac or appear on any other device and then you have a setting on the router that has changed. Your best option would be to communicate with the person who is provided with the router and ask them to do the following:

    • Open all ports.
    • Select multicast.
    • Disable MAC filtering/MAC cloning.
    • Disable the guest network
    • Make sure that the router has a band of 2.4 GHz.

Please let me know if this allows you to print or if you have any other questions. If not, have a great day!

  • Problem screen has tactile Officejet Pro 8500

My Officejet Pro 8500 A touch screen has stopped responding to a click on the right side of the screen, but will respond with a sharp tap to the selections on the left side of the screen.  The screen tells me now the yellow cartridge is low on ink, but will not accept when I press OK, leaving the screen stuck on the notice.  This issue does not allow me to copy or scan or use features that require a touchscreen entry.,.

I tried turning the printer then next turn and it unpugging for about 15 minutes and then by him plugging back, as attempts to reboot.

Is that what someone can suggest a fix for this, or should I scrap this printer? "

    Thank you

  • 'transport jam' paperless in the officejet pro 8500 printer

I received a fax and then "clean printhead" appeared... 15 minutes later... always cleaning... I shut it off with the power button... waited 2 minutes and then turned back on it... "jam carriage error", I check the whole printer inside out and backwards on the side... I turned it off again... unplugged it... and rekindled it... then I saw "replace ink cartridge"... the cyan and black... I took the cartridges off... put them back in and then looked at the ink level... There are still many at a time... then I get the "jam carriage error" once again... and nothing that I may change this in the window... If I click OK in the window... it says "Printing cancelled... then back to 'jam carriage error'... I think» also the transport of ink is pasted on the right side... He tried to pass it... and cannot without ripping it out of the printer... when I opened the box in the back... it was ink on the right side...

It is 3-4 years, because I had it... and put some miles on it... I do PITCH it... just bought the 8600... still in the box... or is there hope... and of course, I just bought and put new cartridges color... lol... Thank you...

I count on the printer immediately.  It may be just a deep reset to clear the problem.  Run through this document.  If it doesn't help you to solve the problem, then go ahead and get rid of the printer.  Let me know what happens.

  • Officejet Pro 8500 printing problem has 909

Not blue print. have you tried the alignment and not cleaning several times, still get no blue including print quality diagnostics Page. Alignment obtained, which do not have messages. Hope it doesn't me printhead is faulty as I have had recurring problems with this machine.

This will sound stupid, but have you checked to make sure you have blue ink? If you're here, then yes it can be a print head problem. Remove the printhead B/M and check the date on the side. If it is under warranty, then I would contact HP to get a new print head. If it is not in warranty, then I'll try to do a physical cleaning of the print head to clear which can clog the blue nozzle. Following the link are details of HP and steps physically clean the print head. Let me know what happens.

  • OfficeJet pro 8500 a909a: try to go to with a HP officejet Pro 8500 wireless

I just moved.  My fax in my old address connection came a "bundle" and has been through a fixed line.  I wonder if my oldest device is able to make a wireless upward set, or I'll have to stay with a land line and a phone number for the fax works correctly?

My unit is about 5 years... HP office jet Pro 8500 a909a...

    Thank you

    Hello

A telephone cable to a fixed line connection is required for faxing.

Generally, a Wi - Fi connection only refer to a connection to a computer for printing and scanning, it does not refer to a configuration of the fax machine.

However, the device does support all wireless, but only a wired network or USB connectivity.

    Kind regards

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-O: all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer - A909a

Is it possible to print from a phone Nokia 635 to the printer above?

It is an android system.  I'm a little new to this.

    Thank you

The HP Photosmart 5520 of the e-all-in-one printer features are more advanced than the 8500 when it print of smartphones - they use Android or Windows operating systems.  I recommend that you try to use ePrint with the 5520.  Here's how to put in place:

    • Front panel of the printer, press the icon of webservices/ePrint:
    • If you haven't already done so, activate your webservices and press OK to enable the automatic updates of printers.
    • When finished your printer will print a sheet of info announced his claimcode (which is the first part of the ePrint address preceding [email protected]).
    • If you were able to activate Web services successfully, you now have two additional printing methods that you can use with your Android and Windows devices:
    1. ePrint by email (note that this method is the best option when you use the Windows phone and one of the two options when you use the Android) - to use this feature, simply send the content you want to print (emails, photos and file attachments) by e-mail to the address of your printer @hpeprint.com.  You can use the email app on your Android device to do and for convenience, you can save the address of your printer to your contacts.  Earlier in this post, remember that the address of your ePrint printer would have appeared at the bottom of the slip of webservices.  Click here to learn more about customizing your ePrint printer's address.
    2. ePrint HP ePrint (second option for Android phone) App- click here to install the HP ePrint app.  I generally recommend this method above others as the ePrint application give you the ability to customize your print jobs, print the photo and files stored on your device and print from the web.  Click here for more information on how to use the HP ePrint app.

Let me know if you need additional assistance.
