  Looking for help, installed windows update this week and after a reboot vista wouldn't start, just a screen empty. Started in safe mode, did a scan, found nothing. Restore system before the update 01/02/2010, problem solved, but now I'm afraid to update. Any ideas? Thank you.

  There are similar problems, but my mobile repeat me it configures windows updates 3 / 3 and wrote 0% complete, then it stops and starts again only to say the same thing. I can't even start button for system configurations. Please notify. Could this be a virus or something with windows

  Restore point:

  Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

  Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  If the above does not work, try to make a Bootable ERD to do a Startup Repair:

  As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

  As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

• Problems with Vista update

  I did not check this far in your search until tonight and found that you had the solution to the problem. However I can't find the file in quarantine in my list of McAfee. I think it might have been deleted when McAfee prompted me to reinstall the program. Any suggestions at this point?

  I have continuous problems with the update (classified as Important) Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET framework.

  This update is always offered to me, but it will simply install noty but I could try

  You can try the following steps and check if we are able to install the update.

  1. click on start, run, type cmd and then click OK.

  2. at the command prompt, type the following commands one by one and press ENTER.

  net stop wuauserv

  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll/s
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wucltux.dll/s

• x 32 Vista - problems with periodic updates

  My computer tells me there are 14 new available updates (all are for Microsoft 2010-1 update of definition, 4 security updates and General updates 9). For almost every day of 12/23/11 - today, 15/01/11, I download and install without error.  I then restart my computer and the notification comes up saying that the same 14 updates must be downloaded and installed.

  I have downloaded and run the Microsoft Fix It tool twice, both times he told them there was a problem with the Installation of window and twice, the tool said them that solved the problem.

• Problems with Windows Update after uninstalling SP2 (Vista Home Premium)

  Two days ago, I tried to install SP2 through my Windows Update. During the installation and then restart, it stopped on step 3 (0%), ignored and open Windows normally. But, I realized that I had totally lost Aero (I didn't even have the option in the window color and appearance), and also Windows Update constantly gave me the message that I always important updates - SP2 has not installed correctly (I rebooted the computer several times to try to resolve this problem, but everything remained the same: stop on step 3) ", running Windows, and once again the message that I've updated important). I searched in various forums, but could not solve the problem, so I decided to uninstall SP2 via Control Panel. But it doesn't let me do that - whenever I clicked on the button uninstall, it says that the installation is not finished yet. So, I tried the system restore, but whenever I clicked it, an error message (that I didn't understand at all) appeared. So, I went into safe mode and tried the system restore and it worked (Control Panel uninstall option does not in Mode safe either), and everything is back to SP1. But now I have problems with Windows Update - I get the error message 0 x 8007002 (and even 0 x 8007005 several times). I tried everything I could find in the forums (the thing with automated updates service does not because I don't have this option in Services), but nothing works. If anyone has any advice whatsoever, I would be really grateful for that, because I don't know what to do.

  For safety, I use NOD32 anti virus, Tall Emu Online Armor and ThreatFire.

  Download and install the latest version of Windows Installer

  Step 2 now try to update again and post back with the results

• Problems with Vista OS SP2 after automatic updates: using OneCare; application of integrated keylogger HP CPU "HP SDP" made by IBM in Durham, North Carolina (?); corrupted Samsung print driver downloaded from the website of the company

  Entered possible hacker:

  1. techie OneCare WINS access - probably not unauthorized and do not believe it causes always provided a quality service, but they have had access in the past.

  2 HP technicians - have had access to my computer once - did a good job with computer crash (not sure cause), but tried to sell me more HP products when I have no money...

  3. after the technicians HP did good job with crash, started to have pop-ups keep HP application that appeared as an add-on that works without permissions on my computer. Google the name of the HP SDP application > recovered information said program is IBM in North Carolina. Called them. Nobody gives any information on the program until I got ahold of a person who gave me the phone to techie Dept. It took all day. Not have not yet contacted technology because they have closed before I could call.

  4. called HP to inquire about the search info from HP SDP. on his goal? HP said he works as a keylogger you sell stuff. But what was weird is after the system crashed and repaired, there was one day that he has opened three times in ten minutes! The behavior of the application has changed after my OS has been repaired. Then after that I indicated HP where I found information on this program, the program disappear from the list of "run without permissions" in internet options explore > manage add-ons > run without the permissions list

  5. one day, I'm working on a word document, and the printer stops abruptly, impression. No amount of turn, or by clicking 'Cancel' will get doc from the printer queue. MS literature said this could be a security issue. The printer says "printing of documents", but no printing at my end.

  This problem is compounded when I delete browsing history and try to refresh the internet Explorer. That activity seems to take pieces of the program Samsung printer with it, even if I had excellent results in the past with Samsung printers and their downloads, and I never had the damaged printer driver to exercise this activity in the past.

I'll follow the instructions you sent me and am running the OneCare security right now, online scanner that I already know an excellent and effective tool because it has repaired my MS operating system and programs after that I accidentally deleted parts of the operating system by removing a .dll file, I need or such a thing! I also wanted to thank you for the information about the object of the HP SDP pop-up window. I saved your instructions on how to remove this case, the pop up appears again. One thing I noticed is that, after removal, some keys on my keyboard don't work, and I've read that other HP users encounter the same problem with the keys on the keyboard. The keys that seem to be affected are the keys that automatically open and close the door of the CD burner. Not a problem, because it is another way to open and close the drawer. It's one that HP must improve. In regards to your advice on the printer driver you have been 'right on' new! I reinstalled the driver using my own CD (not the latest driver, but one that works!) I think that the problem with the update of the Samsung driver that I downloaded from the Web site doesn't have some kind of problem. It is very unusual for a driver to Samsung, because I got excellent results with printers Samsung and free updates downloaded from their Web site. The first Samsung printer I had worked so well, for so long as the small rubber roller that takes the paper and it feeds through the printer wore out until the printer is, literally in a 100,000 pages printed after that I bought for about $80.00 dollars! So, I went out and bought another one, and that's what I use now. The printer works fine now, except for some reason, the icon in my taskbar notification area, allow to check the printer the status of jobs, cancel or repeat printing as before. Once. from time to time, a job stuck in the queue for the printer and will not erase unless I unplug the printer from the central unit. Nor will it print. But since I reinstalled the driver, this has happened only once. With the downloaded update, it happened all the time. • problem with recent update (KB915597)

  After you install the update of recent definition for Windows Defender - KB915597 (definition 1.71.833.0), I noticed, after going online, that my toolbar Google and my ebay Toolbar where gone.  Left click of the toolbar area revealed the existence of the menu bar and the status bar.  I did not at first asscociate the problem with the update so I tried to reinstall the toolbars, but that did not work.  I then performed a system restore and restored to the period immediately prior to the update.  I rebooted, connected to the internet and viola! My toolbars were there.  And then I installed the update, connected to the internet to find that my toolbars are still missing.  System Restore my toolbars and once again were back.  Anyone else having a problem with this update?  I leave myself open does not reinstall the update?

  BTW, I'm under IE7, Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.

  TIP: Uninstall bars tools & reboot, then download/install the latest version of the toolbar a 1 without that you simply can not live. Several third-party toolbars have their own, very opinions on where they should be located in the IE toolbar and they most certainly can "kill" each other.
