Problems after installation of Service Pack 3 for Windows xp?

After you install service pack 3, he started down, then when he tried to start it, nothing, that would make the windows logo then a blue screen. I tried to do a system restore, nothing, I tried to move the date of return in the bio, still nothing, I was payin 120.00 for someone to sit in front of my computer for 3 hours and IT couldn't work, but he ended up doing a full system restore, fortunately, I still have my photos and music but now his works more slowly. He guard tells me to download the package, tried again and poof, done the SAME thing again, this time I did the full restore again and now I'm not even download package. Y at - it something I can do or download for my computer as if it was. I did Defrag, I did the cleaning disc, cookies.etc... I clean up all this. I'm afraid to download updates due to what happened before... Help!

If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

  • After installation of Service Pack 1 for Vista 64 bits, Windows Security says Malware and firewalls are off.

I recently reinstalled my copy of Vista 64 bit I hope to solve this problem that has been with me for a while.  Before I wiped and reloaded, Security Center Windows would alert me every day that my firewall protection and malware have been disabled.

I use Kaspersky Internet Security, which is fully updated and works as it should.  I am able to activate Windows Firewall and bypass the firewall Kaspersky and that error to go away, however, I can't remove the error of malicious software.  I got all these errors directly after a restart after the installation of service pack 1.

Under Windows Security Center it says, "Kaspersky Internet Security reports that it is turned off," under the heading for malware protection.  When I click on the button to activate under Windows Security, it goes through the steps who say do you trust this program, Yes, Yes, ok.  After choosing all the options of trust Kaspersky and activate this protection, he thinks about it a little, but always returned and said it's off.  It also has a green light saying that Windows Defender is actively protecting your computer.

I think that my Internet Security Suite is successfully active in these areas and work I checked the menu, check that they work.  In my opinion, after installation of service pack 1 that something I have messed up in the statement that those programs are active or really uninstalled them.

Even if I can get the only message that the Kaspersky firewall is disabled to disappear by enabling the Windows Firewall, which is not yet as I want.  I want the suite of internet security that I paid to be active and functional on the side of the Windows security features.

I would appreciate any help with this problem by addressing why he continues to warn me that my protection malware and firewalls are disabled.  Thank you.

Also install Windows Vista SP2 this problem could be solved, otherwise try to uninstall and reinstall Kaspersky and also, try to get the latest version of Kaspersky.

If still the same issue please contact Kaspersky support.

  • After you install service pack 2 for windows vista

After installing service pack 2 for windows vista on my HP laptop, I started having a few problems. First off the computer would not go beyond the Welcome screen because he showed that an update was the installation (step 1 of 3:0 % etc.) and the computer reboots before finish. It kept the case whenever I started upward, even on safe mode. I tried to restore, but it would never be completed and nothing else would work. Now I can't go beyond the microsoft loading screen because it shows a black flat screen with no cursor. I can't enter safe mode. Help, please. Safe mode only shows the start screen but won't start so I can't access the control panel and tried to boot to the last known successful startup but it failed.

    Hello

Try a startup repair and / or a system restore using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft

Manufacturers recovery disks normally do not have Service Options; they are normally a relocation to the factory only settings option.

Here is the guide to repair Options using a Vista DVD from Microsoft.

If a friend or a work acquantance of yours has one, you can borrow and use it for repairs.

If you do not or can not borrow a Microsoft DVD there is a download of a file ISO of Vista Startup Repair available that you can put on a Bootable floppy to make the above startup repair and that the method is recommended by a large number of posters in these Forums.

Unfortunately, you have to buy it.

  • PaperPort crashes after Installation of Service Pack 2 for Vista

I have a Dell E531 system with 4 GB of ram and disk space.  I use Vista Home Premium.  I used Paperport 12 Pro on Vista SP1 without any problem.  Today I installed the Vista SP2 update, and now the application will not launch.  I get an error message that extension Paperport MV stopped working - by referring to the ppmv.exe.  I also have a separate error message with the same information on PdfPro5Hook.exe.  The site of Nuance recommedned changing DEP to only MS services and functions.  It did not work.  I uninstalled the application, rebooted, and then re-installed.  It installs fine without error - until trying to launch.  Then I used msconfig to restart without the startup items - so with no A / V and firewall.  I then ran the msi Paperport again and set up a repair.  The same problem.  I would like suggestions.

    Eric,

Thanks for your detailed and informative response.  In fact, I completely uninstall all paperport by using the method you specified, as well as using solvents such as Revo Uninstaller and JV16 Powertools.  It did not help.  I finally got a response from shade that worked.  They sent me a zip file with the new versions of PPMV.exe and PDFPRO5Hook.exe.  After making sure that there were no process running paperport, I renamed the old files from .exe to .old and then copied the new verasions in the appropriate subdirectories.  After that, the application works again!  It took them several weks for answer me (too long), but the answer has solved my problem.  The gist of their response was:

1 make sure that PaperPort is not active (make sure that the error message does not appear and the PaprPort.exe process fails in the Task Manager Windows).
    2. download the PPMV.zip file from the following link:
    http://supportcontent.nuance.com/PaperPort/12/ppmv.zip

    3. double-click on the PPMV.zip file and extract the PPMV.exe and PdfPro5Hook.exe files on your Windows desktop.
    4. go to the PaperPort 12 installation directory (default is C:\Program Files\Nuance\PaperPort).
    5. find the file named PPMV.exe and rename it to PPMV.old.
    6. find the file named PdfPro5Hook.exe and rename it to PdfPro5Hook.old.
7 copy the new, PPMV.exe and PdfPro5Hook.exe, extracted files on the Windows desktop, and then paste them into the PaperPort 12 installation directory (default is C:\Program Files\Nuance\PaperPort).
    8. start PaperPort 12 and confirm that the app now starts correctly.

I hope this helps others who may be affected by the same problem!

  • Another problem of Installation of Service Pack 1 of Windows Vista - will not install

Hey guys, a greeting from Belgium in my first post.

I recently reinstalled my Windows; This is a Home XP and a Vista Edition Home Premium (updated, so I need to install XP first).
When I got it setup XP, which goes perfectly to SP3, I switched to Vista. All the small updates installed outside for a few "failures" caused by Vista stop updates itself, because they were not absolutely necessary.

When SP1 popped up, I decided to download both and see other things, but when you try to install through Windows Update I get the error message "this update cannot continue while some services are still in use" or so, I don't remember the exact message or code.

When I downloaded the SP1 on the Microsoft site, it worked better and smoother then Windows Update but also to is crushed when the progress bar has been a little more than half. Yet once again, I don't know the exact code but I do not know the message: "update cannot continue because of an internal problem.

    That's what I tried:

    -Retry it 40 times
    -Try in safe mode
-Turn off all the other third part of the programs, including Win Defender
    -Tried the system update tool
    -Keep hope

    That's what I did afterwards:

    -Save all my settings
-Rebooted and selected the dualboot XP
-Formatted the separate partition holding the part of the dualboot Vista
-Reinstalled on the same partition with the recommended settings, no change

I would like to have an answer soon, people. I would be incredibly grateful if this could be resolved. Future changes may include error codes given.
