Problems after Windows update.

A rift developed with our computer after an automatic update sometime in the last 3 weeks and installing windows explorer 8. Often the screen turns blue and displays the message "Kernel_stac_ inpage_error". Since the update and installation of windows explorer 8 the computer starts and stops is very slow. After the white screen, the computer automatically runs a disc consistency check.

1 uninstall whatever it is named NORTON as well as LiveUpdate via Add/Remove programs.

2. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

3. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

4. double-click on the file that you saved in #1 above to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart & test.

  • Problems after Windows Update on Vista wireless

It seems that other people have a similar problem, but I'll post this new...
I've been running Windows Vista Ultimate on my Toshiba laptop for years without any problems.  Earlier this year, I started seeing issues after Windows updates.  The main problem is that after updates Windows, my wireless network is is more noticed and the wireless card (which was installed on the computer, and never had problems before) is not recognized.  I manually installed updated drivers with no luck.  The only thing that has worked is to do a system restore to a point before the updates.  The problem seems to be related to an update in general, I can't uninstall.

I find it extremely ironic that I have no problems with Vista until Windows 7 is launched. First of all, it's the wireless card, then a problem with a driver graphics card (apparently... which seems to be fixed now) and return to the wireless card.  Should I expect to continue to have problems unless I upgrade to Windows 7?  I can't continue to spend half of my day trying to fix my computer after an update that is supposed to fix the errors, but I don't like the feeling that I am forced to upgrade.

    Hi dabaum77,

From your post, it seems that the issue was occurring when Windows updates are installed automatically again even after the restoration of the system and that is why I suggest to restore the system again to a point before the updates and download and install Windows updates manually.

    Access the link below
Follow these steps to disable the automatic updates:

    1. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.
    2. in the left pane, click on change settings.
    3. under important updates, choose the option you want.
    4. under recommended updates, select the Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates check box, and then click OK. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Install the updates one by one and check the update is causing the problem to occur. If the problem persists due to a particular update, repeat the process and refrain from settling the problem causing the update to.

You can also check the update problem in Windows Update history.

Follow the steps to check which day caused the issue:

    1. open the control panel (all items view), and click the Windows Update icon.

    2. click on the link to view update history.

    3. to view the details of a single Windows Update-
    (A) select and right-click on a Windows Update list, and then click details.

    (B) click on close when finished.

You can also uninstall the update that is causing the problem to occur, although it is not recommended.

    1. to uninstall a Windows Update, you must go to programs and features. There are several ways to find it. One of the simplest is to use the search box on the start menu.

    2. in the programs and features, click the link updates installed.

    3. after a few seconds, Windows Vista will load the list of installed updates. Scroll down the page until you find the update you want to delete, select it with the mouse and then click on uninstall.

    4. Windows Vista will ask you to confirm that you want to uninstall the update you selected. Click Yes and the uninstall process will begin.

5 depending on the size of the update, the uninstall process may take from several seconds to several minutes.

    6. wait for the window above will disappear and, if necessary, restart your PC. The update is now deleted.

  • Printer problem after Windows XP updates on 06122013

Title updates: Windows XP original on 06122013

Updates of Windows XP on 06122013 seemed to make me lose contact with printer HP LJ1200 and had to perform the restoration of the system to 06112013 do work again. The printer is set up as a parallel device, running on Port DOT4_001 (according to article of Port in the properties of the printer) and was removed in the LPT1 Device Manager and computer rebooted and reloaded LPT1.
Tracking the whole Troubleshooting MS system under properties and nothing seemed to allow printing, so I restored the machine on the eve. Now the printer works.

Computer is a Xeon E1395 of double a ASUS PC - DL Deluxe Intel

Everyone still faces a problem of printing with the new updates?

    Hi Michael,

I see you got a problem with printer HP LJ1200 after installation of updates recently offered from Windows update.

What exactly happened when you were trying to print after the recent updates? Have you received an error message?

Thanks for the sharing of information when you perform a restore as solved the problem.

This issue would have occurred as a result of updates related to the printer or the additional updates to the hardware device connected to the computer. Sometimes, when these problems occur after Windows update, we should always check the specific updates that have been installed right before the problem occurred. In this way, we can identify the update that caused the problem.

As the problem does not persist now, I suggest you to download and manually install the updates individually to determine the exact cause of the problem.

Please let us know if you need help on this question.

Yet, as indicated in The ball , the search results links do not work. I also used several browsers and DuckDuckGo. Maybe it's because the Windows Update Agent was changed some time ago and the article is no longer valid.

  • Problems with services of automatic startup after Windows Update problem

These are probably related to many things I tried trying to solve the problem of Windows Update - until I found the answer to Fix It.  That fixed my Windows Update, but now I have these problems.

I tried to run the bat file that Sohail suggested in this thread: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/thread/41f1d01e-e787-479b-83de-c66f40a23a37/
He ran with errors, so I suspect he undid some things and then they don't get put back.

Those that I know I need is:
    Windows Audio
    DHCP client

These two begin very well once the system is in place, but I have to do it manually.  They still claim to be automatic when I view in the Services management tool.

I also noticed that the following services are set to automatic but have not started either.  Is this a problem?
    Task Scheduler
    TCP/IP Net BIOS Helper
    Windows event log
    TPM Base Services

So, how do you restart automatically?

Problem posted in another thread to improved Performance.  Long story short - a repair settled with Vista DVD.   He fixed the problem of services, but the problem of Windows Update is back.

  • Problems with Windows Update after uninstalling SP2 (Vista Home Premium)

    Hello, everyone!

Two days ago, I tried to install SP2 through my Windows Update. During the installation and then restart, it stopped on step 3 (0%), ignored and open Windows normally. But, I realized that I had totally lost Aero (I didn't even have the option in the window color and appearance), and also Windows Update constantly gave me the message that I always important updates - SP2 has not installed correctly (I rebooted the computer several times to try to resolve this problem, but everything remained the same: stop on step 3) ", running Windows, and once again the message that I've updated important). I searched in various forums, but could not solve the problem, so I decided to uninstall SP2 via Control Panel. But it doesn't let me do that - whenever I clicked on the button uninstall, it says that the installation is not finished yet. So, I tried the system restore, but whenever I clicked it, an error message (that I didn't understand at all) appeared. So, I went into safe mode and tried the system restore and it worked (Control Panel uninstall option does not in Mode safe either), and everything is back to SP1. But now I have problems with Windows Update - I get the error message 0 x 8007002 (and even 0 x 8007005 several times). I tried everything I could find in the forums (the thing with automated updates service does not because I don't have this option in Services), but nothing works. If anyone has any advice whatsoever, I would be really grateful for that, because I don't know what to do.

For safety, I use NOD32 anti virus, Tall Emu Online Armor and ThreatFire.

    Thank you very much!

    Hi EvanaZgb,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.

I would say to first disable the anti virus and other security software. Then proceed as follows:

    STEP 1
    ------------
Download and install the latest version of Windows Installer
To install the latest Windows Installer, visit the Microsoft Web site at the following address:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

Step 2 now try to update again and post back with the results
    ------------
Cleanup, utility to download and install the Microsoft Windows CleanUp utility. To do this, see the Microsoft Web site: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

  • Problem with Windows Update after the new installation of Windows 7 Pro the Lenovo ThinkPad X 200

I'm trying to do a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro on a Lenovo ThinkPad X 200. The product key is easy to find on the sticker of the ThinkPad. However, the version of Windows is hidden (for example, I can't check that my ThinkPad had originally installed Windows 7 Pro). I was able to install by using a Pro Win 7 SP1 CD ROM I bought for another installation. I used the ThinkPad I was trying to make the new facility on the product key. I was able to activate the Windows 7 Pro using the phone call and my cell phone. I checked the activation! However, I have problems with Windows update. The product key may be a different version of Windows 7. If so, why did it install and activate OK? Y at - it a fix for this problem or I have to buy a new version of Windows 7 Pro? Please note that I have not yet installed all drivers Lenovo ThinkPad as I can't seem to install correctly. Thank you!

Since the issue is updated to Windows, it is not a product number key.

You can reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on this page. But if there is malware present, she will continue to reset the connection to the update servers:

How to reset the Windows Update components

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

Suggest you download and save the Fixit. Then configure the system before the clean boot by running:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista/Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously. Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode. Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers. If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode. Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.

  • Good question after Windows update on Satellite P100 PSPA3E

I encountered a problem with my sound card after a Windows Update. It became an old analog tuner with problems of dust on his volume knob. (this is a reference "sounds like" for those old enough to remember) I updated the driver to the most recent DriverGuide.com, no joy.

I even did a complete system restore "with the"product restore disk."" Which fixed the problem until Windows updated the right files for trash again. I don't know what files do the dirty on my card since most of the windows system updates are performed while I "continue to work! Anyone with ideas?

    Thank you

    JD

    Hello

What operating system do you use? XP or Vista?

Satellite P100 PSPA3E must use a sound chip Intel high definition audio Conexant CX20551-22.

I recommend to remove the sound card in Device Manager after installing Windows updates.
Then restart the computer and install the latest audio drivers available that support the sound chip HD Conexant CX20551-22.

First of all, you should try to use the driver for the Toshiba page. If this does not work, check the Intel page!
Please don t forget to restart the laptop after windows update finished.

  • Cannot connect to internet after Windows Update

I was not able to connect to the internet after windows updates 7 of 14 October 2010, unless I have to restore the system to October 13.

    Hi jlm00926,

    ·        Update that you installed before the problem?

    ·        Are you able to connect to the internet properly now?

You can set up your computer in a clean boot state. Subsequently, download & install the update manually from the Microsoft Download Center.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

Clean boot will start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs and helps eliminate software conflicts.

The following link has steps showing how to perform the clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Please make sure that the computer is configured to start as usual according to step 7 of the article: how to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

In the thread above, I was following the post on 30 August.  According to Option A, I completed step 5 for the uninstallation of McAfee Security.  At this time, my network card has stopped working.  On the recommendation of the officer, I posted to the Malwarebytes forum.  The officer determined Malwarebytes that I don't have a malicious software.  I ended up posting on forum McAfee to get my network card works again.  Then I reinstalled McAfee and start to run Windows Update.

I started with Option A, step 8 to reset Internet Explorer using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737.  The difficulty it has worked very well.

Then Option A, step 9 says reset Windows Update using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058.  When I ran the difficulty in default or aggressive mode, I got an error message saying: he cannot start wuauserv.  The message asks me to verify that the user has privileges to take this step.  Well, I checked through user accounts who am the only one user set up on this PC and I have administrator privileges.  Help me please run this difficulty or recommend another way to get Windows Update works again.

[1]... looks like you are saying that my system is so wet that a clean install is the (only?) way to go.

[2] if I do a clean install, not only what I need to reinstall Windows and all my applications, I also have to reinstall the drivers... Etc. ?

[3] I think I have the disks supplied with the PC system. Is it better to use than to use the recovery partitiion?

[4A]... is there a possibility that some of [my data are] infected?

[4] preventing me from simply infect the whole PC again?

A1. Yes, and it was my recommendation in August, too.

    A2. Yes.

A3. Only not really well using the restore Partition hidden to make the "destructive recovery" will include all drivers, etc., that have been installed at the factory.

    A4a. Yes, a real possibility.

A4b. You run at least three 3 tests on the backup data before restoring one (1) with your installed & updated up-to-date anti-virus application (for example, Microsoft Security Essentials) and two 2 with good reputation, free online scans (e.g., ESET;) Bit Defender; Kaspersky; HouseCall; (F - Secure).

If you have saved your data on CD/DVD, the disc scanner. If you have backed up your data to a flash drive, SD card, or another external drive AND KB971029 is installed, analyze the drive.
