  • Internet not working not but the laptop says it's connected to the modem and "Internet access".

My laptop says it's connected to our modem and having 'Internet access'. However, I can't use the Internet on any of my browsers. I tried to turn my Wi - Fi, and who have done nothing. I also tried to restart my laptop and modem, but who didn't do anything either. I checked the Device Manager to see if the NETWORK card worked properly. It said it was working fine. Unless it's lying to me. I plugged in an Ethernet cable to my laptop, but I still couldn't get on the Internet. I ran my computer in safe mode with networking with an ethernet cable but still could not access the Internet. I don't know what the problem is.

I used troubleshooting and that's what he came back to me:
"The connection between your access point, router or cable modem and the Internet is broken."
I did what he told me to and restarted my modem... once again. It did not work.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

I have the same problem.  My internet connection seems fine.  I can connect to the internet on my laptop to the company, xbox 360, roku and my cell phone, but not my laptop from Sony.  When I check the connection it says its fine but when I run a diagnostic it says "the DNS server is not responding."  I checked with my cable company and that they 'refreshed' my signal, but it would not connect.  Even than your wi - fi network or directly with an ethernet cable.

If someone could help us both appreciate it.

    Thank you

Thank you for all your help. I'm back on now. I started having trouble a few weeks ago. My wifi connection would pass, and I have to disable and then re activate my network card back. This has been relatively shortly after my upgrade from Windows 10 but not immediately after. Then the other day which didn't work and I could not connect at all. I read somewhere to try to uninstall the network adapter and then restarting. It did not work. I also read to find updates for the network card and install those which, as mentioned by ichi730 as well. This no longer works. Then, I realized that I had not tried to restart the router after reading the post of WyreNut. It worked, thank you! I feel that it is a combination of the two pieces of advice that have worked so.

Thank you all for your comments, it's much appreciated.

How can I get my computer to recognize the printer on my regular wireless network?

    Hi @lelg,

I understand that you want to configure the printer on the wireless network. I can help you with this.

    Uninstall the printer software.

    Uninstalling the printer software.

Restore the default settings of the printer.

Go to Configuration, restore the default values.

Cycle power to the router and the computer.

Run the installer on the printer wireless.

Go to the configuration, Setup, menu wireless network, Wireless Setup Wizard.

Print a configuration page to get the IP address of the printer.

    Print a Configuration report.

    Select the method.

If you have a valid IP address for the printer, then try and access the Web built-in to the printer server. Type the IP address in the address bar of your web browser. (Internet Explorer)

If it loads the page from the network printer then the printer is on the network.

Download, save, and then run the installation of the software. Color HP LaserJet Pro 200 pilot M276nw MFPS.

Select your operating system, click Next and click on the software to download and install.

  • Irregular problem connecting to the wired network

My Windows 7 PC has an irregular problem, connect to the local network of cable through a provided network of the netgear modem/router.

The connection timeout is the question and sometimes takes a while four two minutes or more.

A reboot of the pc never seems to resolve but (quite often, in fact usually) will be a restart of the modem.

The modem is always on (as the announced network connection is supposed to be).

The network provider has replaced the modem, and the problem persists. This leads me to believe that there is a start up or similar problem with the pc.

I ran the troubleshooter in windows... no chance/results. Is there a "fixit" tool I could try or something similar?

Happy to clarify, to provide more information and appreciate any input.

  • There was a problem connecting to the network

It identifies the network properly even when I put the password - and that is the password - the comment poster 'there was a problem connecting to the network.  The WiFi network, you are trying to reach cannot be found. "Yet he already told me that the network is correct.  Frustrated!

Is the network that you connect to your personal or public?  On my home network, I turned on an access control and when you are trying to connect with an unauthorized device, we get similar behavior.  It does not connect despite all the correct information.

    • I have installed many things over the past year, but know that at some point, I was able to get on free Wi - Fi in hotels

I am able to connect to my network, but when I try to connect to others, I'm unable to do. I have their password and my computer SHOWS I have a connection, but actually I'm not. When I try to connect to the Internet, the server is not found. I called the support/supplier for the last network owner and he told me that even if I "thought" I was online, I really wasn't. He said that it is probably a router configuration for that person that does not correspond to my computer. As I was just visiting, of course I didn't mess with their router. This happened to me twice, with once the provider is the same as mine, but the only way I could get connected with a hard link.

So far, the only thing I did is to see if I could connect to free wireless (municipal library) and was unsuccessful. I think the problem is with my settings, but am not sure. I have to be careful to change anything because I can't afford to lose my connection at home because my job depends on it.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks for any advice you might be able to share.
