Problems installing Java 6 on El Capitan.

OSX CS4 11.0 10.11.2, (11.0x20080919 [20080919.r.488 2008/09 / 19:02:00:00 cutoff; r branch]) (whatever that means).

I read the posts on CS4 and El Capitan. I'm having the problem where CS4 crashes just after the

Displays the splash screen, sometimes it makes regarding the display of a window.

I downloaded CS4 from Adobe and reinstalled. The installer reported success. No change.

Read about the need for Java Download Java for OS X 2015-0016. Who downloaded and run Setup.

It reported a successful installation, but CS4 still crashes. The Java Control Panel and the reporting system does not show

Java 6.

Any ideas?

I can't help with CS4, but the Java Control Panel only displays the versions of Oracle Java.

You can confirm Java 6 in the Terminal with

Java-version

or

JAVA_HOME

  • Problems installing the Java tools

I'm new to Java development, and I have a problem with the basic tools in place. I am running Windows XP, installed Java (TM) SE Development Kit 6 Update 17 and tried several versions of Eclipse. Installed Eclipse version 3.5.1 then downloaded JDE plugin for Eclipse 1.0.0.67 but when I ty to install it I get a message saying that it is not compatible with the version of Eclipse installed (it seems to Eclipse 3.4.1, which isn't available currentlly). If I simply continue with the installation of the plug-in, I seem to get some of the BlackBerry menu items in the Eclipse program but it won't let me install the d. I tried to use the option software upgrades to help Eclipse, but it will not allow a link to the BlackBerry website. It says I'm missing some elements. Any suggestions?

After doing some research I realized that the separate JDE downloads are stand-alone applications. I think that my problems have been solved. Thank you.

  • 28.0 Firefox indicates that my installed Java SE 7 U51 is vulnerable (2014 03 20)

When I use: 'tools-> Add-ons-> Plugins' and select "Check to see if the plugins are up to date", Firefox 28.0 (said currently the last updated version) means that the detected Java version (currently Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U51) 'Vulnérable' is and suggests an update.

The Java Web site indicates that Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U51 is the latest version. Download and re-installing Java and do a reboot system does not change the behavior of Firefox, it continues to mark the
Java version as requiring an update.

Is there a vulnerability recently discovered in Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U51 or Firefox is just having a good time watching me try to argue a problem?

Java 8 comes out; could it be the problem?

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/Java/JavaSE/Overview/index.html

The design of the site check plugin (the last time I checked) don't accommodate several "current" versions So if the site has been updated to recognize Java 8 as current, it could lead to a lot of confusion.

Assuming that the Plugins addons page section has not disabled Platform SE 7 U51 (based on the block file that Firefox downloads regularly), then I think it's probably still good.

(I actually U45 on this computer, oops, so I can't test the response to U51 right now.)

  • Cannot install the update of El Capitan 10.11.3 (Stuck in gray screen)

I have problems to install the update of El Capitan 10.11.3. Whenever I hit reboot the Mac tries to stop and gets stuck in a dark grey screen. The mouse cursor is visible and mobile. Special keys (sound, light) and layering seems to work.

    What I've tried so far:

First time I waited like half an hour, then restart with start button / stop and normal startup.

    I tried to set the command: sudo/usr/libexec/repair_packages - repair - standard-pkgs - volume.

    The same problem.

    I unplugged all USB devices.

    The same problem.

I tried to update in safe mode.

    The same problem.

    So what to do then?

Are there protocols and where to find them? The update file may be corrupted, so how can I redownload it again? Any other ideas?

This is an iMac mid 2011, 27 ", there are backups Time Machine.

The root of the problem was perhaps not the update itself. For me, it was impossible to shut down or restart as normal. There was a problem with a program called SoundFlower maybe. I was not able to uninstall completely.

I solved the problem for me in restoring a backup Time Machine and then applied the update.

  • How to install Java or uninstall Yosemite?

Upgraded my macbook in Yosemite. Some applications do not work, say they need Java SE 6, a "legacy" Java version. Not vital apps, but I would like to make.

MacBook is now painfully slow and buggy. I have to keep applications force - quit smoking. iPhoto has disappeared. I don't know the upgrade was a good idea.

I downloaded Java SE 6 with Oracle. Would not install because I have a newer version of Java.

I looked at several sites who advised on how to uninstall Java, most involving the opening of the Terminal and paste it into the code. It did not work.

I looked at how to uninstall Yosemite. The process seems very involved and delicate. A simple passerby, said one, is to use Time Machine to go back and restore the computer to a front date of upgrade. I tried this but the button 'restore' on Time Machine for archive pre-upgrade was grey and would not work.

Suggestions? Perhaps the time to bring it to the geniuses of Apple?

Kind of annoyed that Apple has pushed so hard to upgrade - using deliberately annoying guests who could not be removed from the screen by clicking on one of the "remind me in an hour', 'remember that night', or 'call back me tomorrow" buttons.

Sorry, I did not clear. My preference is to resolve the problem of Java. If this cannot be done, I would uninstall Yosemite.

    Format your computer.

Install own OS. Update of Windows Vista SP1, SP2 and all post-SP2 hotfixes.

Update all hardware device drivers * hardware device manufacturer * directly.  Do not use if possible built-in Windows drivers.

Upgrade to the latest version of your Internet browser.

Install JRE 7 (current version).  Don't forget that you have 32-bit Windows, you install only the 32-bit version.  If you have 64-bit Windows - install the 32-bit versions and 64-bit.

If you still have a problem of "java" - go to the support for Java - because it is not a Windows problem.
