Problems of duplicate user name

Hi, can anyone help?

I created a user profile for myself. a young parent created one for him and ended up using my user name. As a result, I found myself locked out of my side (and files, photos, mail etc.).

I found a solution I thought that can work (Ctrl + R at the start), who took me to the welcome/choose your language screen.

The choice of restore from Time Machine and choosing the date at which restore to go gave me a window, stating that no backup not found.

I guess that's because the computer is blocked in the new profile and my backups are all related to my original.

I know that I probably went back a step or two too far to try to solve this problem, but we are where we are.

Suggestions very welcome.

OS X should not allow the parent to create a new profile (alias user account) with the same name - it just does not support. You can have similar "long user names" but the "short user name' must be unique, the short name is used for the most important system tasks that allow connections to work etc. Your home folder is named after the short name for example. I have to wonder if he was able to delete your account, but that seems unlikely. Were you the only user on the system?

Try to connect to an account with your own password, see if you are simply confused between accounts.

If you can identify yourself as the user with the password to see if you can check the Setup accounts in ' System Preferences > users and groups. It can give you something to go to decide your next steps.

Time Machine should not care that you were once the user - it must list the backups of the ENTIRE system, so it looks that you do not have all those valid for the restoration. I would say avoid this restoration until find you what is happening. You can disconnect and put the TM drive side for now, just to keep them safe.

I think you have a few options...

1 reset passwords via the recovery mode.

2 reset the operating system in a State that can allow you to make a new admin account, and then use this admin account to search and solve the problem (your data will remain in place, assuming it exists currently).

3. see if others have better ideas.

Please try a normal start and try to connect any of the available users, if all else fails, we can consider some of the other options.

    From your description, it appears you are trying to get your mail using Safari to access your e-mail account. Why you do not use the Mail App?

    Well, you shouldn't have wasted your money on a registry cleaner - they are dangerous to use if you don't know what exactly is the cleaning of your registry - and if it is safe to remove the discovered or not registry keys.

    OK, so just fix it-

    Press Windows key + R > type msconfig in the box run > Enter. In the System Configuration window, select the Startup tab.

    Now, uncheck an entry > OK and restart. If the error message is gone, leave it as it is. If the error message still appears, open System Configuration > start again tab. Now check the entry you previously unchecked and uncheck another. You do this to know what entry causes the error.

    Make work easier, you should not try unchecking and check all entries beginning with the following words in their names.

    I have a setup of CIFS share. I'm a domain administrator on our AD 2003 domain and when I connect to the VPN, I click on the CIFS and invited my user name and password. When I enter the username as DOMAIN\account and password, I am able to browse the CIFS share.

    However, when I have a user that is not a domain administrator to perform the same task, get an "Authentication failure" error and cannot access the same CIFS share.

    I checked the event viewer on the server and I see that when a domain user tries to access the CIFS share is to launch an event ID 529, and the passed username is anonymous and not their domain\account name.

    I checked my account so the other user accounts, and our primary group is the domain users.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    As you have found the error [access denied: 530] This means that the problem is with access. The user name and password that you enter is incorrect or you don't have the appropriate permissions.

    The file is not on your system. There is only a registry entry that is refencing a nonexistent file. That's why you get the message.

    If you disable the entry in Autoruns, Autoruns moves the registry entry to another location so that it is not used during Windows startup.

    If you want to permanently delete the registry entry, right-click in Autoruns and click on delete. Or you can remove the entry from the registry using Regedit.
