Problems of Smartphones blackBerry using Desktop Manager with Outlook 2000

Hi all, first time poster here and I'm pretty much at my wits end so I hope that you register here and asking experts will help me solve my problem!

I took possession of a BB Storm 9500 and fight to synchronize a folder of personal contacts within my work email client - Outlook 2000 SP3.  We use MS Exchange, but it is a very old version (5.5 (I think) and will be updated soon.  However, I want to synchronize my contacts folder using the BB Desktop Manager software and I have problems.

DM BB software does not recognize Outlook as a possible source for the calendar - lists that Outlook Express, Yahoo and ASCII Converter.  So I select the ASCII Converter after you export the PST calendar folder in a CSV (BACK), but when I open the field mapping option in the desktop software manager, the 'Email' field is not visible as a mapped field.  I can transfer just about everything (once I changed the listed fields exported from Outlook to match what awaits the Storm/DM software) but I can't for the life of me find where the Email data field is mapped to-he's just not here!

I tried to do a complete uninstall of the DM Software (cleaned up the registry, etc, etc) and reinstalled but still the same problem - does not recognize the existence of Outlook or the Email field.

According to the BB, it's loaded with v4.7.0.78 (Platform 4.0.0.98).

Is it possible to do what I want it to do?  Support muchly appreciated!

Andy

Outlook 2000 is not supported by Desktop Manager version 4.3, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 or.

It is supported in the Desktop Manager 4.2 Service Pack 2 version.

You'll either have to update your Outlook, or downgrade your DM.

    Outlook 2000

Desktop Manager 4.6 without the media manager,

The DM is not Outlook 2000 as an application to synchronize with.  I had a curve over the last 2 years, with what version of DM that he came with that I was able to sync with Outlook 2000.  Here's what I discovered and someone please tell me where I'm wrong so that I can sync my new "BOLD" with outlook 2000.

New versions of DM don't see Outlook 2000.

Older versions of DM see outlook 2000, but they do not see the "BOLD".

If I can get just the drivers without Desktop software manager, I think I can make it work with an older version.

I hope I explained the problem.

    Thank you

It would help my contacts but not the calendar and tasks.

I have updated to Outlook 2003 and that solved my problem.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones using Desktop Manager with two BB?

    Hello

I have a laptop of Desktop Manager 4.7 v already and a Curve 8900 and I synchronize my Outlook contacts and calendar between the laptop computer and the curve.

I use now a separate BB storm 9500 that I also need to synchronize. Desktop Manager can manage two devices?

Hi and welcome to the forums!

The software uses the PIN as a unique identifier for the BB.

So yes, you can use two. Make sure when you back up the devices you

have a pattern of naming in place to ensure that. IPD file belongs to

the curve and the storm. Or you can store them in different directories.

    Thank you

  • Disassociate from Smartphones blackBerry 8310 Desktop Manager/Redirector previous sync with the laptop I did more.

I recently Sync BB 8310 with BB Desktop Manager and redirector on a computer on which I don't have. Unfortunately, I was unaware of the RIM 'server' of the emails I receive every day (approx. 20-40 emails per day)...

Is there a way to separate my BB from this previous synchronization? Help, please... I am so tired of grab my phone to see another message from the system RIM Argh!

    Thank you.

On your device, go to: Options > Advanced > maintenance book and remove any service books for [office]

I hope that will stop them, since you no longer have access to the old PC.

  • Calendar of Smartphones blackBerry used to synchronize with the new Desktop software

I recently received the latest version of the desktop software. For some reason, my Outlook calendar sync is no longer with my Blackberry. When I go to the title of the Organizer in the Desktop software, MemoPad address book & tasks are checked and work, however, timing is not verified and in parentheses next to it says not installed. No idea why this is or how I set it up to make it work again.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Check first under Options | Advanced options | By default the Services and make sure that the e-mail address which must synchronize with Outlook is set as the CICAL one

  • Synchronization to Smartphones blackBerry w / Desktop Manager deleted all events iCal

I just updated my Desktop Manager for Mac 1.0.3 (version 16) and on the first synchronization of my Curve 8900 (OS 4.6.1.231) he deleted all calendar events in my ical.  All events are on my BB, but none of them are on my iCal, and they used to synchronize on.  Is it possible to fix this?

    Here is the solution

It's an old fix for the same problem since a previous update, but it worked like a charm!  Use OPTION 1, and when you restart your Office Manager and to synchronize your information make sure you MERGE data from your ical has been allowed to go out!

  • Problems of Smartphones from blackBerry using Desktop Manager

Thanks to all those of you who are trying to help us with problems. I just spent 2-3 hours reading through different positions, work on my list of questions, etc. I'm not a fast reader, unfortunately. And even glancing to the area of my specific questions, I learned some things. Unfortunately, I have so many questions, it is difficult to imagine how I can find the time to follow along. I have one of those jobs that usually takes much of my time, so sometimes, I may not able to check my personal email for several days.

But this message because he talks to set up the Office Manager, which I had trouble with. But I can't figure out how to get the answers I need. A major problem that I find irritating, it's when I start the DM he always tries to set up the e-mail... I've set up 3 emails that are sent to my BBy, and I am happy with that. One of them is MS Outlook since one of my jobs. But I can't seem to set up something that works to prevent this return each time I start up. I don't know what I'm doing when I'm trying to configure... all the choices that I don't understand, I'm afraid I'll mess up something that works well.

I was interrupted now, so cannot continue my investigation.
    Thanks for your help.

I don't know what version of the desktop software you have installed, but here's a manual reading on how

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Dont' use Desktop Manager

I rarely use the destop manager on my PC.  Is it a bad thing?

If you use the calendar or contacts on your device at all, I would like to use DTM atleast once a month and do a backup or any time you make changes to your contacts or calendar.

If your device falls down for a reason, you will lose everything, at least have a backup to restore.

I have been using Desktop Manager v 4.7 with my Pearl 8130. Now I move to a Curve 8330 and want to know if I can use 4.7 DM to restore my Pearl settings and applications, etc. on the curve. If not, how is the best way to do it? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Yes DTM 4.7 works with all BB ball

Create the backup of the Pearl, if you have not already

Plug the curve and go for save/restore-configuration advanced

    upper-left click FILE - OPEN

    Select your backup of pearls

now on the left will be the backup, on the right is the curve

don't push the databases that you are interested in (contacts, calendar, etc) from left to right

I have an older iPod Classic, 80 GB, and there most of my top music. I used to manage with an old PC laptop. Since then, I tossed that laptop and bought an iMac. When I try to sync my iPod to my iMac, it tells me that the iPod is already associated with another iTunes account and clear all my music from my iPod if I sync it. The only place where I have my music is on the older iPod. Am I sentenced to lose all my music on my iPod?

Used to synchronize with Outlook 2003 calendar. Tasks, notes and contacts will be however. As part of the services by default, it lists Facebook as my calendar (CICAL). What should I do to change this so that my calendar syncs correctly?

  • Confused BlackBerry Smartphones with Blackberry Storm Desktop Manager

The Roxio program platform is really confusing me. I'm used to a Palm application and can't quite get the hang of this thing.

My biggest problem is that I can't find a way to use my computer to add contacts instead of on the phone. This program is an application where you can use the laptop to add information and new contacts and then synchronize with the phone?

I figured out how to add video (although its easier by using the mass media and simply drag / drop), add pictures and Itunes sync but contacts seem to be non-existent.

    As always, thanks in advance!

the Palm is 'Connector PC' + 'PIM' (personal information manager)
the RIM is just "PC connector.

In addition to the Desktop Manager, you must use a PIM on your desktop. Best solutions are Microsoft Outlook or IBM Lotus Notes. Both allow you to edit your contacts on your PC and then synchronize with your BlackBerry smartphone.

or you can use GoogleMail contacts, with real-time wireless synchronization. This solution does not require a PC.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new update S/W for 8900 blocks Desktop manager with Lotus Notes Calendar

I am using Notes 8.0.2 and using the Desktop Manager to synchronize contacts and calendar.

After the upgrade of your handheld S/W, released last week, the Desktop Manager synchronization crashes when it tries to read the lotus notes calendar. For this, the address book with no problems, but when it starts to read the calendar notes, it crashes.

I have used other sync software that accesses the calendar notes just to check my notes calendar was not inaccessible for any reason whatsoever and that worked well.

If it's a version management issues with Notes 8.0.2 is there a way I can go back to the previous version of the portable software that works well so far? Otherwise, any suggestions to solve this problem?

I'm done deleted my calendar on the device by following the instructions on this thread http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=8900&thread.id=403

After that, my two-way synchronization now works with Lotus Notes Calendar.
