Problems on Qosmio G40 - 12U on Driver genius use of

Hello!!

This is my first post here. So Hello everyone!

I recently purchased a Qosmio G40-12 U. It's a great laptop!

But I'm having a problem that I installed the Software Driver Genius to update the drivers and so forth and once updated packages Intel that I can't start the laptop without connecting it to the wall outlet. I can unplough the laptop and still work until the empty battery, but if I turn it off it I cannot turn back unless I plug to the power outlet.

Could someone help me?

Kind regards

Hello

As much as I know this software is not supported by Toshiba and I believe that no one can explain with certainty what the problem is here. The fact is that all compatible drivers are tested and they will not work correctly.

So my opinion is that you should return to the Toshiba factory settings.

    Memory PCI controller... failed

Is this a problem with my laptop or software that has been loaded. Now on Windows 7 32 bit Vista

    Hi spudcam,

This means that for the memory controller PCI is no driver installed?

Well, it is difficult to say which driver you need exactly and Windows 7's official is not compatible with the Qosmio G40.

AFAIK memory PCI controller is Intel Turbo Memory module, so you would need Robson package driver of the official website of Toshiba.
Now, I looked on the page of Toshiba and guess what, it s is available for G40 and Windows 7. :)

  • Qosmio G40 - 11 d - Driver GPU

    Hi all

For some time I experienced problems with my GPU which are normal when using out-of-date drivers. The most annoying is freeze dry 2-3, after which everything turns back to normal and the system informs that "display driver difficulties blah blah blah". In fact, some people here suggested that this problem can be related to Vista-WorldOfWarcraft relationship, while in fact - it is not.

Also, I would use CUDA. My GPU is CUDA compatible and I would use its potential for my daily routines (for example: using Badaboom to decode AVCHD movies in addition to the format).

All this brings me to a point where I * update my GPU driver *. As we know, Toshiba is as nvidia updates disk do not exist, cuda does not exist and refer to the manual. So, here I ask you guys: the GPU update will turn my laptop into a portable heater?

What I have in bind - based on the experience of P100-324 (http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=103951) I am worried if the GPU fans are controlled by a non-standard features, Toshiba-custom-built Toshiba drivers. If so, after GPU, Quosmio driver installation will not be able to turn its GPU fans, that will be very sad :-(

Then the bottom is - just as someone of you successfully updated the driver of your GPU to a non-Toshiba-blessed (and have your laptop still works)?

    Hello world.

I decided to go a step further and upgraded to Vista 64. I was very happy to discover that the Toshiba Nvidia drivers and work well with my GPU, including the fans spinning ;-) In addition, a big PLUS for Toshiba to provide a pack 64-bit driver.

There is another problem, however: an HDMI output.

If I use the Toshiba drivers, for a full-hd (1920 x 1080) resolution I can only pick 23-30 Hz refresh rate (60 Hz available for everything under 1280 x 800 there). If I use the Nvidia, connection to a HDMI results BSOD device drivers :-(

Any ideas how to 'inject' mode 1920 x 1080 / 60 Hz in the drivers of Toshiba? Do I need to manipulate the GPU drivers or display drivers? Or maybe both?

  • Qosmio G40 - 10Z: Question on the use of energy in sleepmode

When I turn my new Qosmio G40 - 10Z in sleep mode, with a full battery (and AC power off), I can't start the next computer. I can only start it up after connecting to power alternative. I get a windows message that Vista has not been closed properly and I wonder to start in safe mode or normal mode.

After starting the battery shows only 2% of the power. So, what is using power in sleep mode? Why is it not the way "sleep" not transferred into the State of hibernation when the battery is almost empty?
(New workbook, only vista and installed office and TV antenna is connected)

    > Ok, energy consumption in sleep mode is a problem: it takes about 20 hours before the battery is empty: is it a normal use of power in sleep mode?

Well, it s nothing unusual that the battery loses power while the laptop is in hibernation or standby.
If the WOL option (wake up on LAN) is enabled in the BIOS the LAN card use battery power all the time long.

Regarding the sleep mode to crash: trying to upgrade Vista to the last State.
Go to the Microsoft page and download all the patches and fixes!
In addition, check if the BIOS update is available.
If so, try to update the BIOS, but be careful. The bad BIOS or bad update may damage the jury!

  • Qosmio G40 - windows 7 - driver tv tuner problem

I have a _problem with TV tuner driver after installing Windows 7 64-bit Professional (new installation) on Qosmio G40_ (G40-111, part Nr: PQG40E-01E007N5)

All the drivers I downloaded from www.toshiba-europe.com and installed manually one by one.

The system recognizes a tv tuner (TOSHIBA PCI TV DVB-T/Analog hybrid Tuner (x 64)) and the proposed... driver is installed but the device does not work correctly:
    -There is a small triangle of sign with "!" in Manager devices agaist this device;
    -Properties in General: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) « ;
    -Properties in Driver: driver version 2.1.1.0, driver date: 28/03/2007;
-Properties in resources: this device uses no resources because it has a problem.
-Windows Media Center doesn't have a tv tuner.

I used Vista 32 bit Ultimate so far and a tv tuner works very well.

In order to solve the problem, I tried everything, I could think for two nights:
-new new installation of Windows 7 (no result)
    -installation of the driver on WIn7 tv tuner freshly installed BEFORE any other driver and chip set drivers... the '! ' appears immediately on the installation of Manager and subsequest of other drivers doesn't help;
-driver download for Vista and Win7 (no result), American and European sites
-Uninstall and reinstall, manual search for a device and an *.inf file affectante special to be installed (no result)

    * I believe, that the driver is not fully functional with Win7 64 bit and TOSHIBA has GOT TO RELEASE A WORK ONE... instead of trying to offer a driver 03/28/2007! *

    * SOMEONE AT TV-TUNER AND ONDER WORKING WIN7-64 OR VISTA 64? *

    Please share your experience!

Thanks for any advice or help! Most appreciated!

I'm not 100% sure but I think that all of the stuff available on Toshiba download page is for Win7 update only.
I can see TV pilot is not available at all, and I think it's proof of my theory.
So what you need to do is to upgrade pre-installed Vista (Toshiba recovery image) to Win7 using the upgrade kit Toshiba.

I did it with my Qosmio x 300 and there is no problem at all.
What you can do is to contact the hotline of Toshiba or the nearest Toshiba service. They should have access to important information and they can help you with this.

  • Qosmio G40 - not more healthy with the last driver audio Realtek

    Hi all!

Whenever I have install the latest audio driver Realtek 6.1.0.53.97 on my Qosmio G40 (Vista), the sound not work more (not at all) so I don't have to return to the previous version.

Has anyone noticed this problem or has an explanation?

    Thank you.

    Louglitou.

    Hello

It's not easy to say why you n t get the noise after the update of the audio driver, but in my view, this problem may appear if a problem occurs during the installation/update procedure.
    But I have two questions;
Why do you want to update the audio driver? You have sound problems?
I think that if your sound is ok so an update is not necessary, I noticed that the Realtek audio drivers are updated from time to time. My audio driver is about 3 years old and I didn't update because it works very well.

    Best regards

  • Qosmio G40-10 s: graphics card problem

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G40 laptop 10s with a Nvidea 8600 M GT grafixs card. I was playing a game when it locked up and pasted what I would describe as flashing red/green 'Matrixy' search screen.

He then a blue screen and trys to reeboot.
He tries to start windows, but once again the top matrix. If it loads to the top, it is in 16 bit color with red dots all over the screen.

I am sure that the GPU is fried... and I was wondering what I can do? It's been 5 months out of warranty now.

I read on some forums that there have been a lot of problems with this Nvidea card... Is there anything I can do outside my warranty period with what there is a possibly faulty card in it from the beginning.

It will cost a lot of money to get it repaired, but its too good a laptop to let go to waste.

    Any help is very appreciated.

    J

    Hello

You also have these lines on an external monitor?
If so, there seems to be a graphics card problem and it must be replaced.

These overheating problems also occur if you use the nVidia display drivers directly. Toshiba drivers are pre-tested and don't overheat your system.

But I think you need professional help. You should contact an authorized service provider and talk to the technicians. They will help you! :)

  • Problem with BRIGHT. EXE in QOSMIO G40

    Hello and Hello,

I'm a new user here at the forum, and I hope I'm posting in the right place :).

I just purchased a Qosmio G40 well in March and I'm very happy with it, but 3 days ago, I noticed a problem with it, the BRIGHT program. EXE, that controls the brightness of the flat screen does not work (well, it stoped working), when I press the button in the Panel frontal operational, or use the FN + F6 or F7 combination, this does not work, windows indicates that the BRIGHT program. EXE gave an error but does not specify what error.

Does anyone have an idea why this happens and how to solve?

    Best,
    Ricardo

That's the problem! If you want to use the system restore then all settings (settings of operating system, installed programs, registry changes, etc.) will be defined at the point of time at the beginning!

This means that you lose the programs that were installed after the restore point created!

But it should solve your BRIGHT. Number of the EXE!

  • Driver SATA required for installing XP on Qosmio G40

    Hello

I have Toshiba Qosmio and I want to install windows XP Professional.
But as you know XP does not have the driver for SATA hard drive and it can't see the disk.

I have a good program to install the hard disk drivers in Win xp cd, but I don't have the driver.
So I need the driver disc Qosmio G40 hard to ride with the XP CD.

If there is no link available to download or any body done before.

    Thank you

The key is; Intel Matrix Storage Manager. This Storage Manager contains the necessary SATA drivers.
You can download it from the page of the driver Toshiba (check the other series where the XP driver are available) or from the Intel page.

I also recommend the use of the program nLite. You can create a clean XP CD using this software and might include the SATA driver (also, service packs, etc.) for the new CD of XP.

I did it too and it works like a charm.

    At soon buddy

  • Qosmio G40: Problem burning DVD-R HD

    Hello

I have a problem with my G40 equipped with a reader of SD-L902a. In simple words: I can't burn HD DVD-R discs.

The disks I use are PHILIPS HD DVD-R (single side, 15 GB). The guy at the shop of media said there should be no problems with compatibility, because this SD-L902a is the ONLY hd - dvd burner on the market right now. It would be illogical for Philips sell records which are not compatible with anything, wouldn't it? ;-)

Anyway, I tried to use both Disc Creator of Toshiba and the new Nero 8.

Toshiba sweet, when I load the HD DVD-R in the drive, I see an icon with a sign saying: this disc can not be written. In the 'disc info' box in Nero it says it's an HD DVD-R, but the available size is 0 and I can not burn (it says "insert writable media").

I have 4 HD DVD-r and they all have the same... What plan you could be the problem?

    Hello Tom

I think you are the first person with this problem and I'm really curious to know if anyone can offer any explanation. The fact is that this CURIOUS is the first designed for HD-DVD-R virgins.

Maybe the laser cannot be placed in the right position. You have problems, watch HD-DVD movies?

  • Need driver VGA Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit for Qosmio G40 - 11 d

Please, I want to know how to get the driver for Windows Vista 64 - bit for my Qosmio G40 - 11 d because I can not find in Toshiba driver downloads or N-vidia.

  • Should Qosmio G40 - 10F - we support a 12mm hard drive?

I searched the internet for this, and I found a few sites say that it supports a hard drive of 12mm in its Bay, and others have said not that at all.

"I just want confirmation that a 12mm of the 2.5 HDD", we can insert in the laptop, I want to upgrade to the new WD 1 TB 2.5 "HDD, but it is not the standard size of 9.5 mm and 12mm instead.

    Thank you

According to the specifications of the laptop FUJITSU G8BC0003K251 HARD drive for use with your laptop and the height of this disc is 12.5 mm HARD so I think that's not a problem to use the other HARD drive with the same height.

  • Qosmio G40: Problem with BT DUN connection

    Hello

I recently bought the new G40 and I try to use my iPaq HW6515 (with Windows Mobile 2003 SE) as a Bluetooth modem for her.

The problem is that the express installation detects only the PAN profile. When I use the custom installer, he sees the profile of dial-up, but when I try to put the modem (by default at COM40, but he tried it on another one), it is said that there is no modem installed.

After a few seconds, he set up the so-called Toshiba Software Modem (COM3), but after clicking on the button finish, he said still there is no modem installed on COM40. When I change the software Modem of Toshiba to COM40 he finished, but then when you try to dial the number is a message saying there is no signal dial.

Now, I did this sort of thing for a while now with lots of batteries Bluetooth and it has always worked well. iPaq itself installed as a Bluetooth Modem Standard and number without any problems...

The "Custom" Mode is set much lower. See the following Web site:
    http://APS.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/redirect.php?page=pages/HOWTO.html
to learn in detail how to set up.
In your case, you should look at the following document:
