problems to access web links in windows 7

Hello

I have a problem at the time where if I get an email and there is a web link I get this message "file has a program associated with it for performing this action, please install a program or is it already create an association in the default Panel.

Someone at - it an idea how I can solve this problem

Thank you very much, Paul

When you click on a link, Windows Live Mail will ask Windows to open a browser to display the page. If Windows doesn't know how to do this, the process will fail, usually with an error message. Often, this means that you have installed a third-party (for example Google Chrome) browser that has messed up of your file associations. To fix this,

  1. The default type in the start search box, and select default programs results.
  2. Select set your default programs.
  3. In the left pane, select Internet Explorer.
  4. At the foot of the page, click set this program as default.
  5. Click on OK.
  6. Select to set the default settings for the access and the computer program.
  7. Select custom , and then click the chevrons pointing to extend the selection.
  8. Under choose a default browser, select Internet Explorer.
  9. For other browsers you use, select enable access to this program .
  10. Click OK.

Now try to click a link in an e-mail. If it still does not work, please describe in detail what is happening, including the full text of the error message.

Several months ago, I started to have problems of access to some web sites, namely OpinionWorld and your voice. I would get an email from them with a link, like http://dkr1.ssisurveys.com/projects/start?psid=s_LXqAJmxx3JVOk_yTSTvgBEHjCAUQLr>, and when I went to access I got error:

so that I could access these sites from my mother did investigations using his computer and Windows 10 machine. I had the same problems in Safari or if I pasted the links in Chrome. After some time I also started having problems with other websites such as Amnesty International. I would like to click on a link such as al http://www.amnesty.org.au/action/action/41035/?utm_source=FBPAGE&utm_medium=soci & utm_content = 20151220043000 & utm_campai... > and he'd make the same error 400 Bad request. On the other machine, it seemed that someone else had bought the areas OpinionWorld and your voice and I forgot what happened account of my mom, but it wasn't a 400 error. Also, it didn't explain why I was able to access it on a Windows 10 using Chrome for Windows machine. Also, it was just the links OpinionWorld and your voice, not links to Amnesty International etc.

Sometimes, I would have similar problems with other sites. Sometimes I could open in Chrome but not Safari, or if I clicked on the link it won't work but if I pasted the link and press return it would work. He doesn't know what is the problem but "Sophos" is capable of anything beneficial and his presence will only complicate troubleshooting. Remove it. Back up your Mac before making changes to its file system.

Use the Remove Sophos Anti-virus program. It will be installed in the Applications folder on your Mac, unless you have moved or deleted. In this case, follow the instructions in uninstalling here: https://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/122710.aspx. Ensure that its eradication is complete and irrevocable from your system. Do not reinstall, or something like that. Only then will you be able to solve the problems you are having.

One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

When I go to some web sites, I can't some of their links or buttons to work. For example, I can't "vote" and see the results on the MSN home page or go to my account on the homepage of Ancestry.com. Some links work, but others do not. They do not work in Internet Explorer either. I tried all suggestions for plug-ins and extensions that gives Support of Mozilla. I have run Windows 8.1, have Java as well as JavaScript. I tried to understand what is happening. Any help would be appreciated!

Ronmissy2008, it's immediate. I'm sorry to hear about you, not being able to access some links, or use the buttons to vote on issues or read articles. " First, I call your Internet service provider and have them check your router '. There is a possibility that it may need an update of the firmware, because you have upgraded to Windows 8.1. Firmware is integrated software that implements network protocols and security for this specific model of hardware device. More Wi-wired routers and are designed to perform a firmware upgrade process. The manufacturer will be able to make improvements to your router. When I arrived AT & T U-verse, my router updated its firmware that took a few minutes to perform. Click on the link for more information on firmware updates:

If your service provider is done with the update of the firmware on the router, then try to update your Windows 8.1 software.

1.) Open Windows Update by sliding into the right edge of the screen (or, if you are using a mouse, pointing to the corner bottom right of the screen, move the mouse upward), touching or clicking on settings, tapping or clicking on PC, change settings and then typing or clicking on update and recovery.

TAP 2.) or click on choose how to install the updates.

3.) under important updates, choose the option you want.

4.) under recommended updates, select the Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates check box, and then click on apply.

That's all I could think of at this moment. No doubt call your Internet service provider and let them know you have upgraded to Windows 8.1 and your router needs to be checked. In addition, ask them to update the firmware, if necessary. Then run Windows update. I'll do more research on this issue. Let me know what results you receive after completing the firmware update and windows update.

My guess is that you have a damaged or invalid certificate entry OS X KeyChain, but to directly answer this question, I would say that consider you something like HTTPS Everywhere. Note, it is not available for Safari. It is available directly through the Google Chrome browser extensions.
