Problems upgrading to Windows 10 Iconia Tab 8 W

Finally my free upgrade of Windows 10 was available - but there was not enough room on my drive c even after that I put my 16GB microSD-basket as D-drive!

In my wisdow, I deleted the recovery partition and expanded the Windows partition to get enough space.

And now my Tablet won't start - because restoring is impossible!

What can I do, please?

BjarneJoost,

If I understand the hidden partition had Windows files on it, deleting it, you deleted these files. I hope that you have created you recovery media so you can use it to charge. If this isn't the case, I would say that you contact technical support in your area to see what options are available to you.

The portable computer is currently running Windows 7 Professional, and I ran the upgrade of Windows 10.  It goes through the first installation and re - start and then on the second phase, when it is installing the drivers, it gets to 71% and restarts with a blue screen, I think that showing as TENT RUN OF No. EXECUTE MEMORY, but it is not very long, so I do not know and rolls to Windows 7.  I tried to disconnect external devices, try a clean boot, tried to update all the drivers, disable wifi and leaving on a single connection to the local network without success.  I managed to last updated desktop for Windows 10 with only a little difficulty even if Windows has decided the display driver is not compatible, so it is a real headache.

Thank you. No, Kaspersky has not been installed, and I never installed it. Is used by McAfee, as sometimes it comes with Acrobat Reader? I installed once in an update and it removed immediately. Anyway, I found this file registered twice in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers and in a subfolder, it was not related to any existing process so I removed it, tried the upgrade again and he completed this time. If for any other person having this problem find the name of the file after ATTEMPTED RUN OF No. EXECUTE the MEMORY when the blue screen appears, which is very short and then delete this file. In my case it was kl1.sys. It was not however reflected in the report which appeared after system restored to Windows 7. Problem solved.

  • Difficult problem upgrading Vista/Windows 7 for anyone who dares to try to help me to solve it. PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND THIS!

My computer is a few years old, but has always been a good thing. I have a Gateway P6831FX laptop. It came with Vista pre-installed, but also many devices hardware upgrade card high quality graphics, monitor, sound system, etc. because it was built for the high-quality games.  Unfortunately, my OS system crashed and the computer did not come with recovery discs (gateway said that I should order the discs on their part and that I had to pay for them. Which shocked me because when I bought the computer I paid for a license to the BONE so you would think they would send the recovery discs I free).  However, I recently bought a disc to upgrade to windows 7 because I was planning on upgrading my system before it crashed.  So with a computer, I couldn't use, I thought that I had nothing to lose and I decided to try to load my system windows 7 on the computer.  I put the disc in the drive and load windows 7 with no problems at all.  I don't know if I've checked all the right boxes when he asked all sorts of questions, but my big computer worked when I was tired.  I had to go online and download the driver for the webcam to webcam would work once again and I lost all programs preloaded but other than that everything seems to work fine.  But then all of a sudden the sound no longer works.  I turned off the computer and turn it back on and the sound was back on.  But a few hours later, the noise stopped working again and it keeps going.  It is when I reboot it, but it is becoming a chore.  I decided that I would try to fix it and I went into the Device Manager and I discovered something to worry about. All original equipment upgraded in the computer is no longer registered.  All that was there was listed as generic devices Microsoft and number of manufacturer information and model said: not available. The monitor, for example, is listed as 'No generic PnP Monitor'.  Everything updated, so that I paid extra watch now simply known as generic peripheral windows (with a date of installation date that I loaded windows 7).

Is there anyway to retrieve the updated materials and programs without having to order and pay for the vista recovery discs?  If I have to, I'll have to erase windows 7 then reload vista with recovery disks and then reload again the upgrade to windows 7?  However, one thing that baffles me is that when I pull my hard drive it shows that I have 2 here.  It shows 1 Partition (C) and (D) recovery so I think that my original vista system with the hardware upgraded and programs is still in my computer somewhere in the recovery disc (D) but I can not understand how to access and I tried.  And if for some reason any I can never access or recover, I would like at least to remove it because it takes up a ton of space on my hard drive.  If anyone can understand what I'm trying to say here, that's where somehow you can help me understand cela stuff?  Thank you for your time.

    Hello

Gateway put a recovery Partition on your hard disk to reinstall Vista from rather than providing records.

It's the way it's done now and you are also supposed to make recovery disc from it, that you can not do until you reinstall Vista now.

If the recovery Partition: D still works, we do not know as you have installation, etc. on this laptop.

    You need to try.

Reinstall Vista > and then upgrade to Windows 7.

    .

Here is the information on the bridge for learn you more about reinstalling Vista.

Full factory for the gateway restore, which you will always be able to use...

    https://support.gateway.com/s/software/Microsof/Vista/7515418/7515418su531.shtml

And once you reinstall Vista you go to the site of the bridge or from the hardware manufacturer (that you upgraded material initially) Support Web site > download drivers and software Section > equip your laptop model number or the hardware and operating system > and download the latest drivers for the notebook hardware.

    http://support.gateway.com/product/?cmpid=supportnav

And also when Windows 7 is installed then you will need to go to this same site gateway or the hardware manufacturer (that you upgraded material initially) and download the latest Windows 7 drivers for it also.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

If the recovery partition is damaged ask gateway if they provide the disc of recovery for you.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

    See you soon.

p.s. That's what you should have done before you start the upgrade to Windows 7.

Go to your laptop manufacturer's website and check if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

During the upgrade to Windows 10 Windows 7 form, I came to "what needs your attention", it asked me to uninstall McAfee, which I've tried to do through programs and features, I'm stuck at:

Can someone help me to manually uninstall this annoying software?

Have you actually run McAfee on your PC or it was only preinstalled never activated?

Anyway just the fact that it has been installed, windows is probably ruined, so I wouldn't pass the disorder in the upgrade.  This is the perfect case, needing an clean install Windows 10 Upgrade which is a much better facility anyway.  Subsequently, you can activate directly with your old OS product key as it is explained in the Wiki.

  • Problems upgrading to Windows 7

I am trying to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7. My laptop is running the 64-bit version of Vista Home premium, which I am having trouble with the upgrade to the same version of Home premium 64-bit version of Windows 7. It is during installation I receive two mistakes, "impossible to move from 64-bit to a 32-bit version" as well as the opposite, 'impossible to move from a 32-bit version to a 64-bit version." I use a single disc containing both versions and installing, I select the 64-bit version when you are prompted to choose what version cause that is the version of Vista that my laptop came preinstalled. Any help will be much appreciated.

There is no legitimate installation media of Windows 7 that contains 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. Where did you get your support of?

If you have a genuine Windows 7 Home Premium product key, download the 64-bit at the following site, by following the instructions provided. Burn a TI on a blank DVD and start the installation:

Step 1: Download a copy of Windows 7:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

  • Problems upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate - needs disk drivers

We have two HP TouchSmart PC.  One is a TouchSmart IQ505a originally shipped with Vista installed and running Windows 7 Ultimate for years.  The other is a 320-1135 was originally shipped with Windows 7 Home Premium TouchSmart.  We have a DVD of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, burned an ISO image downloaded as part of a Microsoft Partner subscription.  (We are software publishers).

When I tried to install the 320-1135a TouchSmart, installation got as far as saying that «the installation program starts...» ».  He then asked me to insert a driver disk.  I downloaded all the Softpacs driver for the 320-1135a TouchSmart, copied all the files .exe on a CD and inserted into the 320-1135a TouchSmart.  Then I navigated to the folder that contains the drivers, but the Installer did not see them.

Over the years I've installed older TouchSmart IQ505a several times during the same installation disc, but I could neither recall never asked for drivers to the installation of Windows 7 was complete.  Then I reinstalled the TouchSmart IQ505a, just to double check my memory.  NONE of the pilots did NOT the same Windows Installer.  He completed the Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit install.  I then installed the drivers of IQ505a TouchSmart as usual.

I guess what is happening here is that the 320-1135a TouchSmart requires latest drivers, or something that is not on our Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit DVD.  So I called HP Support, only to be told that they were not familiar with the Windows 7 installation procedures and since we got the DVD from Microsoft, we have to communicate with them.  I protested "but it's YOUR drivers that's not reading.  I expect Microsoft will just to send back me to you. "- only to be told"contact Microsoft ".  Which is where we are currently at.

Can someone help me with my dilemma.  What I have to do something with Softpac .exe files before they can be seen as drivers my Windows install, if so what?  And if that's the case why couldn't HP tell me?

If the TouchSmart is running Windows 7 Home Premium, why don't you just try the upgrade by using Windows Anytime Upgrade and the ultimate product key?

If the license for Windows 7 Ultimate, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Ultimate edition at the request, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify its update of the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate files the stored settings and programs.

I looked at many Microsoft websites, which try to direct me to get Win8, I don't want to right now. I got a lot of 'system issues' and if an upgrade to Win7 Ultimate can help. • Solution for Webcam sleep & back problems after the upgrade to Windows 7

Just thought I'd share the solution I recently found a problem I've had since a Satellite Pro A200 GE 26 Q of the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.

I installed the software webcam for windows 7 on the toshiba site and built-in Chicony camera would work very well after a reboot, but if the computer is in sleep for a long enough period, the unit would stay asleep when the computer woke up and wouldn't work at all, unless the computer has fully restarted.

The solution lies in a change in the registry to force the computer to update the webcam USB controller is attached, after the release of sleep. It was apparently the default for Vista when it was released, but was changed in Vista SP1 and Windows 7. Designed for Vista original material which did not have its drivers/registry updated entries could therefore be subject to a failure because of changes to the default settings through the updates of windows. Toshiba, it seems, do not think that this issue then of the extinction of the registry fix for Win7 upgrades for the satellite Pro A200. Therefore fix manually.

The article where the solution is here: [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928631]

You do NOT have the file of the fix, you must only make the change to the registry described later.

You need turn on the camera while you do the following to make sure that it appears in Device Manager correctly.

Step 1: Determine the specific USB host controller

    # Click on * early *, enter devmgmt.msc #the * search * box, then click on * devmgmt.msc* in the * list of programs.
    # The * view * menu, click on * devices of * connection *.
    # Expand the processor node. For example, expand * ACPI * Multiprocessor PC *. (In my case, * ACPI x 86 based PC) *.
    # Extend * system compatible ACPI Microsoft *.
    # Extend * PCI Bus *. Several USB host controllers will be listed.
    # Expand each USB host controller node, and then expand successive subnodes until you find the name of the device that is failing. For example, the device entry might look like the following: ACPI Multiprocessor PC\Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System\PCI Bus\Intel (R) \ICH8 family USB Universal Host Controller - drive root Hub\fingerprint 2830\USB * (Note: for me, I found the webcam to ACPI x 86 PC\Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System\PCI Bus\Intel (R) \ICH8 family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283A\USB Root Hub + USB Composite Device\Chicony USB 2.0 Camera-based) *.
    # When you have located the device, right click on the associated and then USB host controller click on * properties *. In the example that is listed in step 6 you would right-click * Intel(r) ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller-* 2830, then click on * properties *. (* Again, for me it was different - ICH8 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283 a *).
    # Click on the * details * tab.
    # Select * pilot key * in the list. The driver key will look like the following. Note the last four digits of this driver key. {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000} \0002 * (on my system it's: (36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000) \0005*).

Step 2: Add the ForceHCResetOnResume registry value for the USB host controller

    # Click on * early *, type regedit #in the * search * box, then click on * regedit.exe* in the * list of programs.
    # Find and then click the registry subkeys that are similar to the following: * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Class{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}\Four-digit_number.* in this step, the numero_a_quatre_chiffres is a placeholder for the USB devices in the system.
    # You must search the registry subkey by using the value that you noted in step 9 above. For example, if the key of the pilot to step 9 is * {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000} \0002*, then you need to get * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Class {36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000} \0002. (For me, as mentioned above, this was \0005 (36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000)). *

    # On the * Edit * menu, point on * New * and then click on * DWORD value *.
    # Type# * ForceHCResetOnResume * to the name of the DWORD and then press ENTER.
    # Right click * ForceHCResetOnResume * and then click on * edit *.
    # In the * boite box the value data, type# 1 and then click on * OK *.
    # Exit the registry editor.
    # Restart the computer.

This fixed the problem for a long time for me. I'm writing this in case it helps someone else who has the same problem. If anyone from Toshiba never reads this, you might consider adding the registry fixes for upgrades of windows 7 on the download page for this & all other models affected.

Big Hey what s announced and detailed, thank you! :)
I m wondering how you discovered it.

But I want to add something: before you make or change something in the Windows registry, make a backup of it. In the worst cases, restore you the old Windows registry. Just to be sure ;)

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 a A910a: problem formatting of printer after upgrade to Windows 10

After the upgrade to Windows 7 to 10, some printed documents very well while others print in close columsns of 15 letters causing a document 1 page run 6 to 8 pages long and useless.

I downloaded the latest driver from HP and used their diagnostic tests.  I used Windows Diagnostics.  They suggest no action.  I contacted Microsoft 3 times and technicians turned out to be unnecessary; It was suggested that finally back to Windows 7.  The printer works just great.  This printer is no longer under warranty.  I have a same printer which works well on another computer running Windows 10.

I would like to know how to solve this problem caused by the upgrade to Windows 10.

    Hi Wingtip,

Please follow these steps to try to resolve the problem:

    1. open outlook

    2. double-click on the email address that you want to print (the email must open in a separate window)

    3. click on file and then print

    4. in the print window, select your printer and click Print below options.

    5. in the window options printing, make sure that the print style is set to memo, and then click Page layout

    6. click the paper tab, and set the margins to 0.50 '' on all sides. Also make sure the paper type and size is set to letter.

    7. click OK and then try to print.

Please let me know if this helped.
