Hi all, it's my first walk in this forum and I am hoping to get the solution from here. I have Thinkpad x 61 and this is the first problem with it. It's not exactly the problem, but for me it is very annoing. Hotkey on the screen does not appear. I installed all the drivers required manually and keyboard shortcuts work fine-it change in brightness, volume keys work, BUT where is no on screen meter to show how is my screen or how strong or mute is the noise. I'm trying to get the solution for a couple of days, but without success. Any ideas?
PS before I was using win 7 x 86 and 2 GB of ram. Everything was perfect, and it shows correctly. I decided to upgrade my x 61 and installed 4 GB of ram and SSD. To this end, I installed the bios Middleton to use full sata II speed and installed win7 x 64 to use all my 4 GB of ram. I downloaded all the drivers required manually by ID and installed in the order: support for chipsets, display, audio, trackpoint, power, Manager supply management pilot, features of keyboard shortcut, experience of devices, wireless, dial-up connection. I read all the treads to simular problem, but they don't work for me

  • Problem Win7: Device driver (* .inf) within the distribution is not installed in setup.exe. Why?

    Hi people,

We have a device driver (* .inf) to our application that is added to our distribution , we create in CVI. In the past we did copy the *.inf in the /dossier inf directly (using the distribution Installer "files"-Tab "").

Recently, we have followed the guidelines described in "Using LabWindows/CVI to install your device .inf files.

So we have now chosen a significant subdirectory of our application as the destination folder for the file *.inf instead of directly copy in the system directory.

Everything works well (besides the fact that our driver has no signature and needs user interaction), while using Windows XP.

DIFxApp (run MsiProcessDrivers) recognizes the *.inf file and installs the device driver.

After completing successfully the setup.exe, the specified *.inf has been duplicated as oem*.inf/pnf under /INF.

But under Windows 7 the *.inf is not installed. I ran "setup.exe/l * v" for the information of the installation log file.

    And I found this article:

MSI (s) (8:9 C) [13:56:41:043]: jumping action: MsiProcessDrivers (the condition is false)
Of course the step of installing the drivers is ignored.

Choose the /INF in the folder target to the *.inf (which does not work on Windows XP) everything works fine.

Does anyone know why MsiProcessDrives is ignored in Windows 7? It is always ignored or I do something wrong?

    Help is appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Philipp

PS. : The device driver *.inf was written for several OS (XP, Vista, Win7) target according to Microsoft guidelines for this. So it of a universal *.inf file and can be used in each operating system from XP to Win7.

    Good,

    I solved the problem myself.

The problem is related to the DIFxApp.dll , which is available as 32-bit and 64-bit version.

In my case, I created the distribution as the 32-bit version. That's why 32-Bit DIFxApp.dll is merged into the MSI file that is not compatible with Windows 7 (64-bit).

This is why NOR added to this CustomAction Condition (NOT VersionNT64) for MsiProcessDrivers, which is perfectly adapted to the species but of by not having is not the *.inf file

installed in Win7. I guess the distribution building like Release64 it will use the 64-bit Version of DIFxApp.dll. I'm not able to verify that (still works on XP).

But then it will probably crash on XP.

But anyway. We have a distribution for the two BONES.

Quick & dirty solution I figured out:

-Edit-> files distribution: Add the *.inf file to C:\window\inf

-Manually add VersionNt64 condition in the resulting MSI file under component -> (you can use the ORCA editor for this)

So now, in the case of XP, the *.inf file gets installed by DIFxApp.dll.

Windows 7 using the *.inf is copied directly in the windows/inf folder and installs automatically the first time that the device is connected.

I guess you can merge DIFxApp.dll (32 bit) and DIFxApp.dll (64-bit) to the MSI and manage things together, create conditions. But it is not quickly implemented. At least for me is not...

  • problem with DMA2200 Media Center

    Hello

Since a few days, I have a DMA2200. The installation is very easy and the connection with the network actually works.

But if I want to run the Media Center on my TV DMA connects with my Vista Home Premium laptop and the sound of the starting Media Center comes to the TV set, but he then there is an error message "(dmhkcore) FAILED: Please check the Audio driver" jut for a second, and after that comes the message "Extender" disconnected Sometimes everything works for a minute and I can see all the options of the Media Center, but then the error message comes again.

The sound works on my laptop. And I reinstalled the audio driver, too. I don't understand that, but I hope that someone knows this problem and can help me.

    Thank you...

When you connected to your desktop computer with the new user account, did you get any error messages? If you get an error message when you connect with a different user, you know that the problem is not really a problem of Media Center - it's something goes wrong, when a new user profile is created.

A Google search suggests that DMHKCore is a display driver, it is so easy to understand why it could get confused about the execution in a profile Extender - display of an Extender account is on the Extender, not on your PC.

See if you can rename the file DMHKCore.exe in C:\Programs Files\Samsung\Display Manager\. If you can not rename, trying to kill the process in the Manager of tasks first, and then rename it. Then try to start your Extender.

  • Folder offline problem WIn7 and Lenovo support here?

    Hello

I have Lenovo's WIN7 on my T61. It works very well, I'm just having trouble with folders offline.

With or without docking station, I have only 30 MB datatransfer rates even it's a Gigabit LAN. Even if it is slow it's fine for me.

But when using offline foders I often get the Messenger "Ausstehend conduct" (meaning "waiting for synchronization").

In the configuration of offline folders, there are selections "with connections to slow work automatically in offline mode", but it is grayed out. I changed it once via gpedit.msc and it seemed to improve the situation, but now it's the same thing again.

In addition the netowork disks are not re-connected once they are disconnected. So put the laptop out of the docking station and back again means that the folders are available only in offline mode, even the network is reconnected.

Other that a re-boot, I haven't found any solution to re - login again!

Does anyone have an idea what I can change it?

I wanted to ask you Lenovo about this. As the win7 is a Lenovo Microsoft's OEM version does no support but said that the PC manufacturer where I had the operating system is responsible for any support it.

But the normal support knows nothing about software issues and if Lenovo has no support...

Does anyone know if I have the chance to ask fo someone of Lenovo?

    Thanks and greetings

    Hermann

    HI Warder.

    I love you!!!

I was looking for the solution for months and how to overcome this problem is not found.

Now, I added the rights to 'Network' in the record albums that I need... and it reconnects immediately after plugging in the Lan cable again!

    Thank you very much!!!

  • Connection problems: Win7, Skype 6.14

    Hello

I had connection problems since just after I did a windows update last night. (no idea if it's just a coincidence?)

I read through several other posts here, tried reinstalling Skype several times (also re-installed an older version), checked the compatibility mode and still no joy. Oh, I restarted a few times too.

I'm trying to connect using my Skype username and password (I don't have an account of ms) but the screen is just stuck there, it says signing in and the whirly thing (term techy lol) is just Dervishes round and round.

I luuuurv my Skype, absolutely essential for me because I work from home, so I hope someone can help. PLEEEEASE :-)

    Thank you

Try to uninstall the currently installed version and install the older version of Skype 6.9.0.106 using this msi installer:

  • Edge 13 sleep problem win7 (intel)

    Hello

I think I have a sleep problem with my edge. If I close the lid, I can still hear the hard drive by clicking on current time to time and CPU fan. I checked all the power settings and it should go to sleep and nothing should stop going to sleep. Case may be where the cover he never sleeps, but if I choose sleep from the start menu, it will sleep. And I checked all the places it should go sleep by closing the lid.

Thing worries me a bit, it is that if I run in prompt command "powercfg - a" he reports this computer only supports the S3 (hybrid sleep) and S1 and S2 modes are not supported.

    Mystery solved:

    HW problem!

A magnet located in the lower right corner of the cover of the computer, under the screen rectangle shaped box is too low!

I tried one of my magnets "fridge" on the top of my power button and computer went to sleep state and _stayed_ in mode standby.

    * Sigh * I wonder what I should do to fix this problem? Magnetic tape to improve the weak magnet on my computer?

  • Standard user account & installation problem (Win7)

    Hello

Unfortunately, I came across a problem which I think is due to administrative privleges, or lack thereof.

Currently I am able to connect and print to my printer a HP Officejet 6600, but I am unable to use the scan function.

On the printer after selection "Scan" and then "computer" it displays "No registered computer" and on my laptop after start-> all programs-> HP-> HP Officejet 6600-> HP Scan I get the error message "HP Officejet 6600." not found

I ran the "HP print and scan" utility of diagnosis and he told me that I needed to install the software package full of features to use the scan function.

My problem is the standard user account that I can't install the software.

I am however able to solve this problem in the administrator account. Can I install the full package of features or even using the Installation Wizard of the software to install & to add/install a new printer (wireless).

    So, here's my question:
Does anyone know what local security policy or group policy I have to modify to allow users Standard fix this in their account?

I tried this solution and it doesn't work:

Thank you for your time and help,

    Alek

Is Q: there anyway to give some sort of administrative rights with regard to the installation of printers on standard user accounts?

A: your only choices are the two that I mentioned above.  Disable the standard/UAC user account or run as administrator installation files.  If those who do not work, then check with MS to see what you need to do to get these working wrapper running as it should.

Q: but to my knowledge, this command deletes all the benefits of the daily duties with a standard account of operation?

R: you got it.  This is the world of the Administration Windows for you.

Q: How can I get a standard user account to perform the installation from the CD from HP?

    A: same as mentioned above.

To my knowledge, anytthing would also require a 3rd party application to serve as a local application broker.  The broker assented request to install and can be configured to evevate some applications/processes to run as administrator by providing credentials of the administrator to the BONE.  For example, we are currently investigating a product called Power Broker to accomplish this task for us on the Win 8 + OS.

Theres no doubt, the accounts of users of STDS are a pain in the thigh for admins.  Everyone needs to find a way to manage the rights that they give to their users.  HP cannot help you until find you the part of MS. user rights

  • Problem Win7 HPE-150ff recovery with recovery disks

Hi - I have a desktop HP HPE-150ff under Windows & Home Premium computer which had the HARD drive go bad.  Original is a 1 to Seagate - I bought a 2 TB Seagate ST2000101, 6 Gb/s, 7200 RPM HARD drive to replace it.  I removed the old drive and connected the new drive and started the recovery using recovery disks that I made when the PC was new.  Like others here, things seemed to be going well until he completed the download and tried to restart.  Next, I get the dreaded "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer hardware.

After doing some checking, I have changed the setting to the Bios SATA to AHCI and also tried IDE.  just returned to the same installation point and is suspended.

I saw the reference to download updated Intel drivers, but I don't see a place in recovery to install.

What is the latest thinking on the best way to get this to recover?  I was thinking of doing a new 1 TB drive, but what I've read, the 2 TB should work correctly.

Any help is appreciated.  Thank you!

    Hello:

BIOS AHCI and just for fun, let's see if you make your own regular install of W7 disc works.

Use the product key on the PC to enter and do not activate.  Just to see if you do not get this error.

Here's what you need to do.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/14709-Windows-7-Digital-River-direct-links-multiple-languag...

If it works, I live just with that because I have no idea why do not have the recovery disks.

You have only the mouse, the keyboard and the monitor connected to the PC during the recovery, correct?

You are right, because a 2 TB HDD in your relatively modern PC should work very probably.

  • Can someone help me with the problem of Vista Home Wireless (unidentified network)

I recently replaced my wireless router and now I get "Unidentified network - Local access" when you try to connect to my network.

This problem occurs only with this computer Vista Home.  (All other wireless devices have any problems (Win7 netbook, iPad, PS3, etc).)
ipconfig/all shows me a valid ip address, subnet mask and gateway also seems to have a Mac address of zero.
Norton Internet Security was installed, but I have removed and still have the same problem.

    Hello

Position of your router would be suspicious here. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.

Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.

  • Novatel HSDPA Modem for protégé M700 and Windows 7 RC

    Hi all
After a lot of research on the web, I'm stuck.
I found the current Mobilink (v2_02_37) software that installs successfully and the new Toshiba (1.1.7) Utils.

Now I'm looking a Novatel driver or the real 3G modem. One of Toshiba (ToshibaDriver_V2.01.12) does not install. It restores at the end of the installation.

In Device Manager, I find 4 unknown devices 'data interface' with the missing pilot.

The Toshiba utility can't find 3G modem, when I try to turn it on using FN + F8.

Where can I get an installable version of the Novatel software?

Thank you so much suspicion, except this problem Win7 RC works perfectly on the M700.

Toshiba support replied that Win7 is not supported :-(

As far as I know that Windows 7 is not on the market and what you can use is test version only. Toshiba and other laptop manufacturer will start Windows 7 support when Microsoft it offers on the market and when Toshiba starts to offer equipped laptops to Windows 7.

Until then, you can just play a bit and test the basic without specific stuff from Toshiba features.
    I do the same.

Sorry, buddy, but we have to wait for the official global launch of Windows 7.
