Problems with editing in Windows Movie Maker

I have Vista and I am trying to publish my finished video, but it won't work. He stops and closes completely after about 5 seconds. I went to the event viewer to see the problem and it is said that the failed module is msvcr80.dll. I did this for every thing I try to publish, long or short videos, and I used only .bmp, .wmv and .wav files. Help, please! This video is a final for the school. Thank you.

Can you check and disable all third-party filters and see if it helps any:

    Thank you

Last reply first... No, are the Movie Maker project files
not compatible with other video editing software.

You are running Windows or Vista Movie Maker 6
    Live Movie Maker?

It is possible that your project is too complex for
your system resources but it is more than likely
some of your files source (Photos, video Clips,
Audio clips) are not fully compatible with Windows
    Movie Maker.

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
    Video - wmv
    Audio - wav, wma, wmv

Conversion to formats compatible before importing
in Movie Maker may be the solution.

There are many converters available on the net... some
    free... some detail.

The following freeware converter is just one example:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory (freeware)
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
(the 'direct link' is faster download)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup290.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the final screens)
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
    Drag > FFSetup290.exe< out="" of="" the="">
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck...

  • Problem of publication of Windows Movie Maker.

    Hello!

When I publish a video in Windows Movie Maker 6.0, he still reverse or change the colors somehow. I use all the effects. I tried to activate and deactivate all filters, one after the other. It does not help. Colors are always changed, opposite, negative, etc. after the publication. Lila, green, etc. Please tell me how I can solve this problem, to be able to publish the video with the original colors.

Video is not a format... I was talking to... AVI, MPG, WMV, FLV, ect... ect.

If the videos are not the. WMV format... it may be worth trying to convert them.

At first, I thought, there might be something wrong with the clip so I imported another copy of the clip, but he kept repeating the same problem with all versions of the clip that I imported. It is not the first time, it does, Windows Movie Maker has done this before with other video clips of mine.

This is usually due to incompatible source files.

Might be worth trying to convert your videos to

  • Problem importing mpeg in windows movie maker 6

    Hello
I know that this seems to be a repetitive theme but this is: my windows Movie Maker 6 in my laptop computer won't import mpeg (I use vista)... my WMM on my machine from office at will (I use XP)

Here's the story; I have a canon vixia HF11 which gives me "m2ts" files that used import into WMM... so I found a cheat... I just change the file ext 'MPEG' and that it is important to the former WMM (XP). These "MPEG" do change well in the WMM so I convert them to wmv for editing as I want.

When I do the same thing on the laptop (vista) the 'new' mpeg file will not import to the WMM as it does on the XP machine. (However, it will play in windows media player)

the bottom line: is there a way to make the most recent WMM do the same thing as the old?

If not, is there a simple free converter that will convert my files "m2ts" to something that will work in the most recent WMM?... I already spent a lot of money on this machine and I just want something simple.

any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you

Thanks for the help that is going

Now, I know the problem is the movie maker (version 6) itself. After doing a little more looking around, I discovered that if I install wmm 2.6 (which was made for vista machines that could not handle wmm 6. I did it and everything works fine now. apparently the wmm 6 (vista) does not have certain things the same as the older 2.1 (XP).)

I'm in place and Rollin' now! Thanks again!

  • Convert vob to wmv to edit in Windows Movie Maker

I am trying to edit a dvd. I know that I have to convert the vob to a wmv file but it keeps shortening the length of the video. I downloaded at least 6 converter programs and none doesn't seem to help. I would like to edit this video in Windows Movie Maker. Help, please!

It may be interesting to try to rename the. VOB file to
. MPG or. AVI. If it is important without convert you
could drag the timeline and immediately

  • Stop editing in windows movie maker

I made a video, it is long 20 min, but I don't see how this is a problem, anyway since I can't "save under" anything but a movie maker project file, I tried to publish and publish on any folder or some setting I put it, it stops at 43% and then the estimated time it will take increases indeffinitly (got up to 266 times)

someone help me publish it or find a way to convert it to wmv because this video is awesome and I don't want to lose him or not be able to share with people.

    Hello Lord of the gingers,

Thanks for posting.  It seems you may have one of two problems.  Either you don't have enough disk space hard for the conversion process and final converted video or your power saving options disable your hard drives.  We will try to check both of those to see if you have enough disk space hard for the conversion process & final video and changing options you energy savings.  I have included a link to guide you on how to change your power settings here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935799 or by following the guidelines below.

    To change an existing plan

    1. Click to open the Power Options.

    2. On the select a power plan page, click on change settings for the plan under the plan that you want to change.

    3. Settings change for the plan page, choose the display settings and the sleep that you want to use when your computer is running on battery and when it is plugged.

    4. If you don't want to change the settings, more, click on save changes.

      -or-

To change additional power settings, click on change advanced power settings and then perform steps 5 and 6.

    5. On the Advanced Settings tab, expand the category that you want to customize, expand each setting that you want to change and choose the values you want to use when your computer is running on battery and when it is plugged.

Click OK and then click on save changes.

I use the same device which was used to make movies in the past with no problems. The error message is sorry, unable to save your movie. Find missing files or delete the unusable items in your project and then try again. Error: 0 x 87160129

I've never had any problems with this before and made more than 100 movies using WLMM or WMM. Thanks for any help. Would that my camera settings? I use a Lumix.

I just found out what the problem is freakin ' and the solution. If the inserted videos have different "video codec" then it will not work!

Before adding videos to Movie Maker, throw in a video converter and convert them all. (Even if the original format is WMV, convert again to WMV) that will ensure the output videos have the same codec!
This solved the problem for me, hope, it does for you too...

  • Windows Movie Maker will not show the video

    Hi laura234646,

Did you check if the problem occurs with another drive?

This problem may be caused by audio\video filters present on the computer.

Step 1: I suggest that disable you video filters and driver, to do this, follow these steps:

    Director of open windows,

    1. click on Toolsand then click Options.

    2. click on the compatibility tab.

    3. to turn off a filter, clear the check box next to the name of the video filter.

Now, check if the problem is resolved.

    If the problem persists,

Step 2: Reduce hardware acceleration to check

    1. open display settings by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, on appearance and customization, personalization, and then clicking display settings.

    2. click on display settings, and then click Advanced settings.
