I am at a loss someone running into that? The drive is completely useless unless I can understand that. Also, I tried to format the drive. Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can give.

  If you want to turn outside your library in a referenced library, with the originals on the external hard drive, you can not do it by duplicating the library if your original library is managed.   However, if I move the folders containing images of problem on my desktop (iMAC 27 2015) in Lightroom external editor command change... works very well.   Looks like I solved my problem with Lightroom. I disassembled my external backup drive, but upheld the disk external drive containing the photos up and then restarted my mac. After the reboot, I open Lightroom and chose the image on an external drive for mounting in affinity Photo and Collection of Nik. Both image successfully opened in editors. I reassembled the backup drive and rebooted time machine and repeated the same opening picture in external editors. Once again, works great. Have no idea where the original problem. Looks like a bad path was stored in a config somewhere file.

• With the help of 2 external hard drives

  I want to connect 2 external hard drives (OWC Mercury Elite Pro) to my iMac.  I use one for the pictures and the other for the safeguarding of the iMac.  The two hard drives come with FireWire, USB 3 cable also.  Is it possible to connect the two leads one to the other with fireware, or do I need to connect one with firewire and other separately with USB? I would like to get the speed of firewire to both if possible.

  Yes, you can connect in series up to 70 FireWire devices. Plug a drive in firewire on Mac port and the second in unoccupied left FW of the first drive.

I have parallels desktop and I can run windows 10 (located hard ext on my drive) but it is impossible to play with a virtual machine. So, I wonder if I can start and run windows 10 of my drive hard ext? I have only 128GB one my Mac using windows and OS X on it is impossible. Thanks for your help! (just to be clear: If you the solution works, if I disconnect my HDD ext all windows will be bug (or something like that)).

  -Parallels Desktop (PD) is an application that manages a VirtualMachine (VM): this is a large file. PD can run at the same time as the OSX.

  -Bootcamp is another partition on your hard drive where your Windows is running: it may not work with OSX, you start on the Windows partition or in the partition oSX; you do this partition and install Windows in there with the BootcampAssistant application. The BootcampAssitant can't do a Bootcamp Partition on an external drive as far as I know.

  Recently bought a Toshiba Satellite A350 - still under warranty.

  My problem started with gel/delay of Windows whenever I transferred specific files.
  I found that a lot of my files are the same; It's then that I transfer or open these files - this can take 10 minutes to load crash, then displays a corruption error
  During this phase:

  The laptop hangs for an average of 10 minutes before returning to a usable state - I found more than 15 files and suspect many more that are corrupt.

  Reset password utility in the recovery Partition:

  3. Open a Terminal from the Utilities menu. Type in resetpassword and select your user (NOT administrator system/root) account in the menu drop-down.
  4. Click on the Reset button at the bottom of the window ACL section and Reset the folder permissions.
  5. Exit the utility password and return to the main recovery menu.
  6. On your keyboard, press ⌘ + Q and restart your computer. It is very important that you don't hold down the power button to exit the recovery session, or the ACL Reset to occur.

  last week I updated my OS to El Capitan 10.11.4.
  After that, I have problems, make a backup on my external drive (Wester Digital MY Passport Ultra).
  After reset total of my iMac, the backup runs once, but the hourly automated backup stops.
  A manual start is not successful.
