Problems with FP 10.3.183.7 upgrade - did not work and now does not download

Information on the current system:

Windows 7 (64-bit)

Internet Explorer 9 (using 32 bits to download FP)

I upgraded to 10.3.183.7 and immediately noticed my laptop cannot display/use of the Flash features (facebook, prospectus online, video games, etc.)

I uninstalled and installed several times using Control Panel both the program uninstaller provided on the Adobe support page. I restarted my laptop after each installation and after each uninstall. I made sure to use 32-bit IE every time.

The first programs (and control panel) showed the PS as installed but now it records not installed at all - other than the installer telling me it is installed.

After the installation, on the Adobe page 'test' instead of spinning F I see a box with an 'x' in the upper left corner (as a picture/graphic that doesn't load).

I tried the version FP 11 beta but same problem. He showed at least on my list of programs. I uninstalled and am back to 10.3 FP

I've been on the help page try everything I can find to get it to work, but no luck so far. Any advice for this problem?

Flash Player does not appear in the program files, because it is not a (standalone) executable file player; just a browser add-on.

    I loaded Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance on my laptop. I have Vista Home Premium, 32-bit system. The game installs fine, and it will start well so. The question is when I hit the Start button to start the game. The loading screen appears for a split second, and then the program quits and I get the following error message:

    OK, I did some research and found that this can be caused by several different things.  Here will be a list of questions to information that can help us diagnose your problem.  Then, I will list some things to try.

    This game has never run on this PC?
    What are the specifications of your system (brand, model, CPU, RAM, etc...)?
    What kind of mouse you use (wireless, wired, touchpad integrated, etc...)?
    Have you updated any drivers lately?

    Things to try:
    Update your driver to map his and your video card driver.
    If you are able to access the game options, turn off any hardware acceleration for the sound.
    If you use a wireless mouse or you have any type of attached block, then unplug it and test it with a wired mouse.

    Tell us the requested information and the results of these steps.

    They all install properly but switches back to windows update to install. It's some kind of loop.

    If you are using Internet Explorer 8, it gives you the option to automatically remove your browsing history each time you quit the browser. The type of data that is deleted is dependent on of which options are checked in the delete browsing history.

    one) to set up IE to delete browsing history on exit first click on the Tools menu, located to the far right of the tab of your browser bar.

    (b) when the drop down menu appears, select Internet Options.

    (c) click the menu Security , located to the far right of the tab of your browser bar. When the drop down menu appears, select the option delete browsing history... .

    If you use the Vista licence as part of the upgrade to Windows 7 you cannot use the license of Vista anywhere elsewhere

    If Windows was preinstalled on your computer, Dell, HP, etc., or you bought an OEM/license disk, they are both classified as an OEM license and are not transferable.

    The Windows OEM license is linked to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
    You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

    If a retail Windows license, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
    But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

    A single license is a single Installation.

    The most likely explanation is NetFlix changed something in their routine of authentication (i.e. SOAP structure or just a URL string, whatever) and who broke the Vista NetFlix WMC client. It did not affect the web interface of NetFlix because operated a NetFlix service, they were obviously aware of the change pending and adjusted their web client to use the new method.

    Customer WMC NetFlix in Windows 7 (which is a new product), was probably already coded to use the new method. The client in Vista has continued to work with the old method, until NetFlix finally stop this method. Microsoft, slow to react and to assign developers to fix the Vista NetFlix WMC client missed the deadline and Vista users have been in the dark for a while.

    That's pretty standard for web services that cross corporate barriers. Particularly involving slow mega-body like Microsoft. A company change a routine and the other has to play catch-up. Communication is often difficult between the divisions within a company, between companies, it is often non-existent.

    The level of prissy whining in this thread was good for a laugh however. Those threatening to cancel NetFlix: rolleyes: your access was still working on their Web site. You were not without service, just, without the convenience of WMC. People grumble at Microsoft... anyone know if Microsoft was still knowledgeable of * when * NetFlix was going to turn off the old authentication? If they were told the night before (or any) "Hey let's turn off the old authentication routine" what kind of response do you expect? How long is it since the problem began, 28 days? It's actually a pretty fast for an element relatively low priority. Or it could just be that NetFlix reactivated their old methods of authentication as a temporary solution to this problem (they share a part in creation) until Microsoft can respond formally with an update.

    Now if Microsoft was duly informed advanced evolution of the service, still dragged feet (quite possible) I don't give them no slack. But at the end of the day, it is always a matter of low priority. It's fixed now, be happy until the next time that Netflix change their authentication routine.
