Problems with multitasking on Satellite Pro P200

I am the owner of a new Satellite Pro P200.
I use this laptop to use software such as photoshop, indesign, etc.

* Now I have problems with multitasking! *
It is not possible to run 3 programs at the same time.
That I have to restart my laptop again and again.

Does anyone know what is the problem?
Can someone help me with this problem?

For two weeks I have P200D. I use it for work and use different applications at the same time. So far, everything is OK and I am very satisfied. Maybe you should try to optimize the operating system:
-remove all software, you do not need
-disable the startup of unnecessary software of automatic startup (MSCONFIG)
-customize the appearance
-information on the open performance and Control Panel tools and use tasks on the left side to improve the performance of computer s

P200 is powerful enough and must be able to manage with a few applications running at the same time.

  • No software DVD player with my new Satellite Pro P200

Just bought a new Satellite Pro P200 and, to my surprise and dismay, it has software player DVD No. inside? I downloaded the DVD drive on the official download here, but Vista abandoned the facility saying that I can not install the application. Have you tried to configure it as a Admin, but the same message is given running.

Suggestions as to how I can get the software to run movies DVD on the new laptop computer would be most appreciated.

The laptop is model is PSPB7E, it has Vista Business installed and has a HD-DVD drive installed.

Would apprecate a response early to what I already plan to return this item, demanding a full refund since it seems that it does NOT use a software which SHOULD run (IE. Compatible versions of some software XP will simply not installed because Vista blocks!).

Kamshot - discouraged by the new culture of 'Vista '!

    Hi Kam

As far as I know every Toshiba laptop comes with pre-installed software allows you to watch DVD movies. It is a part of the standard installation and the application is called WinDVD.

According to the specifications of the laptop, your laptop has no HD DVD player, just DVD-Super Multi (+ r DL). Because of this there is no HD DVD player.

  • Strange problem with RAM on Satellite Pro A100

I have a Satellite Pro A100 (not sure which...)
It came with 2x256mb RAM, which are mounted. I noticed my laptop slow, so I checked what he says on the properties of the workstation - who said RAM 192Mo...

    Any idea what's going on?
I had a peek inside, both are mounted securely, while the right push entirely? There is a small gap (about 1 / 2mm) so that is the little nick and real editing. -What is the cause? Or it's maybe faulty?

    Please help me!
    Thanks in advance,

    Diana

According to the description of your problem, I guess one of the memory modules is not recognized by the system and the specified result 192 MB of Ram only tell me that your laptop has shared graphics memory card.

Satellite Pro A100 is fairly new to laptop and, in my opinion, you should contact service. The guarantee must be valid and if everything is defective it will be replaced free of charge.

If possible, tell us what Satellite Pro, you have exactly. This info you can find on the lower side of your laptop.

I'll try to fix this. I hope ;)

Well, navigate to drive properties and select the Hardware tab.
Then choose the CD/DVD drive and properties.
    Then select the Properties tab.

Here you must activate the audio CD digital option for this CD-rom device

  • Two problems with my laptop Satellite Pro

    Hello

First of all, my DVD drive refuses to read DVD - he spits just them out after a while.

Second, my internet connection is de-energized regularly - only goes 'local'. I have to unplug the connection and then reconnect to make it work.

    Hello

It will be interesting to know what model of laptop you have.

Anyway, after reading this description of problem a single sentence, it is not easy to tell a lot about the issue of the DVD.
Have you noticed the same problem using several original DVD movies?
Have you tried to clean the lens of STRANGE?

Connection? You write about WLAN connection, right?

  • Satellite Pro P200: Cannot play Age of Empires, because DirectDraw

    I just replaced my old laptop (a ps210e) with a 15th Satellite Pro P200.

I can't my old age of Empires II game to run--the error message is "cannot initialize the graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw. »

Google told me that there is utility to run to test this called dxdiag and I ran it and it says allowed to DirectDraw acceleration (as well as many other things).

So, what should I do to get the Age of Empires to run?

Moreover, is this an official forum of Toshiba to get technical support, or simply a community of user group? I couldn't find anything on the Web of Toshiba UK site actually contact the Toshiba direct technical support.

    Thank you

Stand by. Have you Vista preinstalled Satellite Pro P200? Did you check the minimum system requirements for Age of Empires?

  • Problems after updating the BIOS on Satellite Pro P200

I recently buy a Satellite Pro P200 running Windows Vista Business. Yesterday, I updated the BIOS to the version 1.50 supplied with the machine to 1.80 available on the Toshiba site. I double checked that I was using BIOS correct update for the Pro P200 Satellitel running Vista.

After updating the BIOS, I have now two problems:

    1. whenever I start and join the office, I get an error message "record of Vista has stopped working". This problem has been identified as toshibavistaregistration.exe here: [link: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=99805]

2 Control Panel > system now shows the processor and the memory (RAM) as "not available". Execution of the diagnostic PC Toshoba tool and looking at basic information show also no information on the memory (RAM) Although the processor information here. There may be pieces others missing too under the eyes of list shorter than before the update of the BIOS.

Basically, I want to get everything working again as it should, but cannot find any information on these issues.

After further review, it appears that the update of the BIOS is not the cause of the problems.

Immediately after updating the BIOS, I had a major system crash. It turns out that this is what has caused problems.

After a system restore to a point before the update of the BIOS and the major system crash, now everything is working again with BIOS version 1.8 in place.

  • No sound in Satellite Pro P200 with XP

    Hi all.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro P200 with Windows Vista preinstalled. I removed Vista and installed Windows XP with Service Pack 2, due to the incompabilités with some software I need. Almost all of the necessary drivers for XP (even a downgrade to BIOS) was downloaded and installed from Support from Toshiba web page. But there are still two devices that I can not install. At the start of my laptop it always detect "* Microsoft UAA bus driver for high definition audio *" and "* controller memory PCI - Chip for logical Cache Flash in Intel (r) *" as new hardware and they appear marked in yellow in the Device Manager list.

I installed the last bus Microsoft UAA for high definition audio driver for XP from Toshiba and Realtek too... a lot of time and in different ways... Previously I installed the High Definition Audio Driver Package - KB888111 from Microsoft. But I still have no sound.

PCI memory controller - Intel(r) Flash Cache Logic Chip: the same... tried the drivers the most recent Toshiba one Intel too. Toshiba technical support told me that this unit is ready to run on Vista and have suggested me to try with Robson drivers for Vista Support from Toshiba's web page, but that didn't work either.

I googled a lot, searched this forum and called technical support, as I said, but I've not found a way to solve these problems. Really, I can't believe I bought a laptop that only works with Windows Vista, I resist assume this idea, so I continue to try and try to make it work properly with the operating system that I need and I have chosen freely.

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance.

You're on right way boyfriend, you must also install another patch MS; KB835221
So finally the KB888111 and KB835221 must be installed before you will follow with the audio driver installation.

    Check this thread:

The problem is that this unit only works in Vista.
The controller memory PCI is that intel Turbo Memory, also called Intel Flash cache logic chip also called device Robson.
It's quite new technology designed to support the new features of Vista.
There is not driver for it for Windows XP because XP doesn t supports the function of cache, it is supported by Vista.

  • Satellite Pro P200-HD: how to use it with Win XP

Recently, I received the new Satellite Pro P200 HD of Getech. I asked Getech to change the XP operating system because my University will not support Vista. I was told that some features are lost with XP, such as the hot key utility and I agreed to go ahead.

However, I was not informed that the sound is scratchy and the video will behave as if I play a scratched CD.
It is true with windows sounds as well. I was not able to enjoy the music or video. I have all the drivers updated and the new Bios XP released recently has been updated.

Please does anyone know someone using this model with XP as an operating system with the sound and video works properly?
This would mean that I was sold a laptop with a defective sound equipment and should get a replacement because I had this problem from day one.

Thanks for the help in advance.

    * @ Vivien *.

    How about this:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-> support download &-> download drivers

There, you might choose the satellite Pro P200 to download XP drivers

  • Satellite Pro P200 - 1KE Vista loses contact with the second internal HARD drive

Vista Business SP2. I have a Satellite Pro P200-1KE, with two 160 GB drives: a Hitachi configured as C: (operating system, programs, etc.) and E: (data, other programs). The second is a Toshiba MK1637GSX. This little about it and nothing of any importance and is normally configured as d. Unfortunately this hard drive has now become invisible to Vista, although it is still recognized by BIOS and Device Manager. In managing computer does not appear in the list in the upper pane, it comes without a letter from reader below. I have tried everything I know to get recognized, including the following:
    (In no particular order):

    * Remove computer - managed, reset as a single Volume: it always fails
    * Reformat to NTFS using Linux GParted or utility disk Linux (via a USB stick with Linux ice Peppermint on that nerd), sometimes combined with the restoration of the system - it works, but only for a single session. She always disappears again when you restart
    * Remove the driver from Device Manager and pointing plug-and-play with Windows System 32 and Windows Update - which seems to return the driver - but does not recognized disk, unfortunately
    * Meanwhile, throughout all this, Vista insists on finding a driver for "unknown device" that she sometimes found and (allegedly) installs and sometimes find one fails to install.

    Bah!

Anyone know anything else I can try - preferably without having to reinstall the entire operating system, or run the risk of using Toshiba Hardware Setup that does not seem to come with all the instructions and enigmatic, who wonder if I want to delete stuff 'selected', without showing me what kind of things I am alleged to have selected for removal!

    Best
    David

If this second HDD is not so important to try to start the original installation disk Microsoft (Vista or Win7) to see if the second HDD will be recognized for the installation procedure.
You can also try to install Win7 on this second HDD to see if the installation is correctly finalized. Later, you can check if you can start the second HARD drive preinstalled OS.

Test just to see if this problem is related to Vista only.

  • Satellite PRO P200 (PSPB7E): LAN PCI network resources - conflict problem

    Hey,.

I have a Satellite PRO P200 and I have some problems with the local network. (not a wireless).

When I plug in the network cable, the system want start at all. The blue power let towers and it is all tha comes.
If I turn off the laptop, unplug the cable and turn it on, it starts, but the network card is more installed.
I already downloaded the driver from Realtek for Vista 32 bits from the website, but no difference.

In fact, the driver is not recognized as being a good driver for the device. I select the driver manually in a list (using have disk etc..) to get installed it. After the re-setup all the parameters of the network card in Vista or disappeared, always on dhcp.

I already had a blue screen (vista dump), during the installation of the device.
    And a mistake:
Conflict of resources - controller Netword PCI in the location 08
    Bus: 04, device: 00, function: 00
Press to return to for Setup.

I also tried to turn the peripheral as the third lan of start-up, but it automaticaly turns on again.

I tried to update the bios to the latest version, she too successful (not), but it did not solve my problem.

    Any ideas?
    hardware failure?
I guess that's not possible the device lan switch?

    Hello

I read a lot of stories here, but yours is really amazing. I don't know what the problem is here, but try to enter the BIOS settings and set it to the default value. After doing this install OS using recovery media.

Now that you must clean preinstalled OS and your laptop will have factory settings. Please retest the functionality of network card. If the problem persists, you need professional help.

  • Satellite Pro P200 with WXP - two components without driver

I installed XP Pro on my Satellite Pro P200 15W and I installed all the drivers on the driver download page, but I have still two components without driver: these devices, I don't know what types of devices are, because it seems that this medication works very well. The features are:

Memory (Controladora de Memoria PCI) PCI controller
    Unknown device (unknown device)

I aso installed upgrading Bios WIN5.00, but both devices still does not.

    Any idea?

    Thank you everyone

The * PCI controller memory * Intel Turbo Memory is called a chip Flash cache logic Intel (Robson device).
It s a new technology designed to support the new features of Vista.

There is not driver for it for Windows XP because XP doesn t supports the function of cache, it is supported by Vista.

The other unknown device could be everything; You may need to verify that the devices do not work. LAN, WLan, etc...

  • Satellite Pro P200: Cannot install Server 2003 - parity memory error

I have a Satellite Pro P200 and to the work required to install Windows 2003 server on it, but all I get is an error message:

    -Hardware malfunction

Call your provider of support material

NMI: Parity check / memory parity error

    -The system is shut down

I checked the memory and everything seems OK. Vista runs very well on it, and all memory is recognized. I tried different flavors of Server 2003, although all I need is standard edition. Anyone who has met this problem, or someone has any suspicion as to how I can get it operational.

So, how tested the RAM? With Memtest? Or Prime95?

I read in many forums that people work servers (no laptop...) SERVERS) that correctly work 1 year with ECC memory, then windows 2003 server gives the same error message you have.

I mean if Vista works flawlessly and you checked as you say the RAM while there could be a mismatch which must not be for lack of toshibas.
Maybe you should try a linux ubuntu server edition, which works great on almost * ALL * systems, even on systems with faulty CPU/memory (Ok, ok, not 100%, but it works, I got this case :))

So, maybe you can try to exchange the RAM, but if you're still the same error then ask microsoft or try another P200, if they are available.

Sorry dude, but I Don t have a lot of ideas in your situation :/

    Welcome them

  • SSD upgrade for Satellite Pro P200 (PSPB7A-01000J) - possible?

    Hello world

I had a Satellite Pro P200 for 3 years and more. It came with Vista Business pre-installed, but I have successfully installed Windows 7 a few months ago.

A few months ago, I replaced the C drive in my office with a Solid State Drive and now he sings - program start and loading of the system is much faster than before.

Now I'm wondering if the SSD upgrade even could be done to my trusty P200 and if yes, what brand/model of SSD could be better. It should be 128 GB or 256 GB maybe.

Anyone else been in this way? The results? Pitfalls?

    All responses appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Greg.

    Hello

I think that it should be possible.
You must use a SATA SSD drive since the laptop supports the SATA controller.
To be honest, I never tried to upgrade the laptop with a SSD but SSD is not very different from the HARD drive and normally should not be a problem.
In some cases, an update of the firmware of SSD may be necessary but usually these firmware updates should be available on the SSD drive manufacturer support page.

  • Satellite Pro P200 won't start

I have an old 1 week per Satellite Pro P200, it turns off when I was just in the start menu, so I was not doing something out of the norm (power cable is plugged). Since then it just won't turn.

With the connected power cable I have an electric blue, power battery and light (although attempts to restart about 2 the battery light was red, but now blue). The drive light flashes for about 3 seconds each time I try to start and I can hear something happening inside the machine, but after only 3 seconds... nothing, completely dead.

I tried to remove the battery, wait 20 minutes or more and none of it worked. Anyone have any ideas?

Seems to be definitely a hardware problem... very bad :(
Why you visit your dealer for new laptop and ask for Exchange.
Maybe the dealer will exchange the laptop with a new.

If this isn't the case, then you must contact the service provider authorized in your country for assistance.
If you have purchased an extra service on the spot then the technician you will visit at home and will try to solve this problem.

    Good luck
