Problems with the VMware vSphere Client

Hallo

I have problems with the new Client VMware vSphere.

Until I installed the new client on my system, I had the old VMware inferstructure 2.5 client to manage my esxi.

I was then going to test esx 4 box of the anther and then installed the vsphere client.

But!

When I try to connect my old esxi 3.5 or the new esx 4 I get the following error from the vsphere client:

"Analysis of the server"192.168.2.2"" clients.xml"file error.

Logon will continue, contact your system administrator.

I then clik Ok and get this message:

The initializer for type for 'VirtualInfrastructure.Utils.HttpWebRequestProxy' threw an exception.

I tried to delete the old client and the new and then install the new, but still it dosent work.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit.

It will not work on windows 7, period.  You must run the VIC from a supported operating system

    Hello

We use Vsphere client 4.0.0 build 208111 with Virtual Center Server version and same build.

    I have 2 problems:

    1. I have a virtual machine with only one disc that is shown on 2 different data stores. If I look through the models and virtual computers, I see only 1 vm. If I look through the data warehouse screen, I see it in the store data-002 and 003-store data. If I go to the settings of the virtual machine on the datastore-002 and check the disk, I see the path in the store of data-003.

    How can I fix?

    2. I turned on a windows 2003 vm. I couldn't close it via customer vpshere because the status of VM Tools showed not running. When I logged in the system, he showed OK and then I could close by the customer.

Do I always login for virtual machine tools to perform?

    Thank you

    Haim defending

This virtual machine has a CD / ISO mounted?  What happens if you click edit setting on the virtual machine, that says the file of the disk?

Also, go to the service console and watching a .vmx file, it should say something like

    scsi0:1.fileName = "servername.vmdk"

Then look at the hard, it should point to something like

     VMFS "servername-flat.vmdk"

Can anyone help me please with this problem? There could be a bunch of superfluous things here, and if you could show me, too, I'd be very happy. If you need more information on the config, I'll be happy to provide.

    Hello Kenneth,

Based on the appliance's routing table, I can see the following

    C 10.21.9.0 255.255.255.0 is directly connected, DeviceManagement

    C 10.21.3.0 255.255.255.0 is directly connected, servers

C 192.168.210.0 255.255.255.0 is directly connected to the inside

And you try to connect to the 3 of them.

Politics of Split tunnel is very good, the VPN configuration is fine

    The problem is here

NO_NAT list of allowed ip extended access all 172.31.255.0 255.255.255.0

NAT (inside) 0-list of access NO_NAT

Dude, you point to just inside interface and 2 other subnets are on the device management interface and the interface of servers... That is the question

    Now how to solve

    NO_NAT ip 192.168.210.0 access list allow 255.255.255.0 172.31.255.0 255.255.255.0

    NAT (deviceManagment) 0-no.-NAT_DEVICEMANAGMENT access list

Any other questions... Sure... Be sure to note all my answers.

  • Solution of problems with the vmware window

Using VMWare Workstation 7.0.1 and windows xp SP3 professional home, the resolution of the screen always changes to adapt to the vmware window. I especially run it in full-screen, exclusive mode, but sometimes I have to go to restored state. When I do, the vmware window must shrink to fit on my screen (which it doesn't) and the resolution of the virtual machine running is currently expected to remain the same for he puts just scroll bars on the edges. What is happening is that the resolution always goes down to 800 x 600 bottom of 1440 x 900 and its really annoying. Mostly because all the desktop icons move upward in the upper left corner when I change the resolution back to the larger size.

I'm sure it's a problem in vmware itself because I tried to uninstall vmware tools of virtual pc and with that was the graphics card driver. Surprisingly, when I rebooted the virtual pc, it installed most of the pilots who were going with vmware tools except for the screen and it goes not smaller when I'm out of the mode full-screen. After that, I reinstalled tools and he did the same thing again. I'm pretty sure I should keep vmware tools, so I don't want to leave just UN-installed.

Are there specific parameters associated with the change in resolution to fit the window? Ive looked around and ive seen settings do not really match what I want.

AutoFit window resizes the window to match the guest.

AutoFit Guest resizes the guest to match the window.

(This is explained in the preferences > display page.)

If both are true, we will resize the window when the customer changes his resolution internally, but we will resize the comments when you explicitly resize the window of VMware Workstation.

  • Strange problem with the VMware Remote Console Plug-in

    Hello

I'm on Win7 64 Bit as a host with VMware ServerVersion 203138 2.0.2Build. The VMware Remote Console Plug-ins wants always be installed even I already installed it. It happens with all the browsers I tried.

When I click on install the plugin, it is deleted, the next time, it is installed, removed..., installed the message remains... :-(

    Any help?

Try to run the browser as administrator. Maybe that will resolve the situation.

  • Problem with the start of VMware ESXi 5.0

I just installed VMware ESXi 5.0 on a new Cisco UCS B200 series blade with two 300 GB hard drives configured in a RAID 1 mirror.  I went through and completed the installation of VMware ESXi 5.0 on this server.  When the installation is complete and the server restarted, he did not initiate the ESXi where I can change the IP address and VLAN.  Instead, I get this text string after the initial boot sequence that is shown in the attachment.  I have a guest who said Shell > do not know why I can not start correctly in ESXi 5.0.  Thank you!  Paul

    Hi Paul,.

Looks like you boot to the EFI shell. What is the startup policy that you have configured on this server service profile? It should look like the one below.  If there is a problem with the boot order, you should be able to type "EXIT", then enter on the EFI shell to exit the prompt. If your startup is similar to the one below and you still experience this issue, try to downgrade and re - ack the blade.

Let me know if it helps.

  • Problem with the Cisco VPN and Vista client

    Hello

I have an easy VPN server configured on a c2811 and users use the Cisco VPN client. Lately, I have users running Windows Vista 64 bit and I need to know what is the correct version of the vpn client, I have to use and the compatibility problems with the server, I configured.

    Thank you and best regards.

Cisco VPN Client doesn't have any version that is compatible with Vista 64 bit OS. The only customer that Cisco has released that supports the 64 bit OS's AnyConnect, but it is only supported on the CISCO ASA Appliance

When I created my forms, I need to leave out the line, one email because my client does not want the message line and two because those who have tried to fill the online form cannot submit because the 'email' box keep rejecting their email address valid. Currently, there is no way around the field email forms of the Muse. Another option is to have a look at Jotforms or another third-party provider of shape that Muse has widgets for.

  • Can we start VMware vSphere Client with uid and pwd together?

It is possible to pass the UserID and pwd in VMware vSphere client application using program options?

The program did not show anything re. Start arguments or settings for the program

I think it's a little embarrassing that I always need to manually enter credentials and would define me a shortcut that contains the credentials.

    Something like "C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\Infrastructure\Virtual Infrastructure Client\Launcher\VpxClient.exe - uid < UID > - < PWD > pwd..."

Is this possible? Or via a config file?

    M.

Please take a look at for example http://www.johnoriordan.ie/index.php/2011/02/21/vsphere-client-command-line-options/ for the way in which this can be done.

  • Need help to update to work with the new vSphere environment 6

I have a great powershell script some time ago, I created to clone our production servers in a development environment and configure them for use in isolated vShield development networks.

We have recently updated our environment vSphere vSphere 6 and changed architecture autour 5.

Previously with vSphere 5 we had a unique vCenter server that managed our two datacenters by itself.

With the new design of vSphere 6, we have a PSC and VCSA server to each data center in one area of SSO.

The first thing I did with my script of cloning is up-to-date reference vcenter for a table of two servers, so I connect to two VCs at the same time.

This allows me to see and manage the two vCenters virtual computer guests, so get - vm strives to see the comments of the source.

However, the problem is that when I try to clone a virtual machine from one data center to another, the command fails because it can't find the virtual machine to clone.

    # Virtual Centre server or VM host to connect to
    $aryVIServer = @("vc01.domain.com", "vc02.domain.com")

    # Load VMware environment
    Set-PowerCLIConfiguration -DefaultVIServerMode Multiple -InvalidCertificateAction Ignore -Confirm:$false | Out-Null
    $VIServer = Connect-VIServer $aryVIServer

    # Server cluster group to deploy to
    $strVMCluster = "Bubbles"

    # Define name of new server including environment prefix
    $vmName = "$($envPrefix)-$($CloneServer)"

    # Select Host with least memory consumption
    $selectedHostObj = Get-VMHost -Location $strVMCluster | Sort-Object -Property MemoryUsageGB | Select-Object -First 1

    # Select folder to place VM guest into
    $folderObj = Get-Datacenter -Cluster $strVMCluster | Get-Folder $selectedBubble

    # Select datastore with most available space
    $selectedDatastoreObj = Get-DataStore -VMHost $selectedHostObj | Sort-Object -Property FreeSpaceGB -descending | Select-Object -First 1

    # Clone new VM from running Server
    $newVM = New-VM -Name $vmName -VM $CloneServer -VMHost $selectedHostObj -Datastore $selectedDatastoreObj -DiskStorageFormat "Thin" -Location $folderObj -Confirm:$false

He used to work very well when there was a single VC but of course does not now with two.

So far, the only difference is the change in VCs. We always use the same exact 5.0 running ESXi hosts to the same place in separate data centers.

    Oh and I'm now using powercli 6.3 R1 instead of 5.5 R1.

I look forward to this type of procedure should work fine, and I just need a different command for virtual machine cloning now?

Well, I have solved the first problem according to them here:

Re: Impossible to deploy VM model on different vCenter Server (in the same domain of SINGLE sign-on)

However, now I can't run Invoke VMScript without getting an error that the proxy authentication is required.

If I remove all my proxy settings in Internet Explorer, then it connects fine but this script must be run by a number of engineers without being dependent on their proxy settings are disabled.

I can programmatically change the settings of proxy at the beginning of the script, but nothing not preventing to change those back if they use their browser and break execution of the halfway of script.

Never had any problems with the Proxy settings before and I didn't know any other messages that have directly relevant air.

Anyone know of a way to avoid this?

  • Fact the VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [4.0] class eligible for VCP5 prereq?

    Hi all

Doing some research, but has not been able to confirm.  Also left message with our VMware training rep areas last week, but never heard back, so thought I would try here.

In 2011, I finished the VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [4.0] courses.  I never did get my VCP4, but now want to try for my VCP5.  This class would qualify as a prereq so that I can just take the VMware vSphere: What's New (version 5.0) courses?  The web site called specifically need to VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [V4.1] class so I think not, but I wanted to check.  I would take the shorter, which is the new class rather than a class 4 or 5 days on vSphere 5.0 so I can.

    Can anyone confirm?

    Thank you

    Bob

No problem, this path has always been available for VCP5.

And Bob, the counties of 4.0 class, as well as class 4.1 - is only the class 4.1, which is referred to as the class 4.0 retired some time ago and has been removed from the page VCP5 when he retired.
