Problems with Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable

I need to install Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable on Windows 7 (32 bit) so that I can run Autodesk Maya.

I get as far as a "Collection of information" progress bar when a dialog box appears to show:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network unavailable resource.

Click OK to try again or enter a different path to the folder containing the installation package 'vcredist.msi' in the box below. »

Then, I have a box to enter a new path and a browse button to search for a.

Curiously, the control panel shows that Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable is already installed with "Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - X 86 9.0.30729.17" and "Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - X 86 9.0.30729.4148.

Uninstalling 2005 Redistributable only bring to the top of the same dialog as detailed above.

Any help would be welcome as I need Maya for the work of the University.

Have you seen these similar problems mentioned in the following links of Google?  Maybe they can offer some clues?

When you install anything either AutoDesk or C++ 2005 Redistributable use these suggestions to increase your access privileges.

Have you tried right clicking on the shortcut to the program or the .exe and select "Run As Administrator"?  Perform, even if your user name is an administrator.

Try right click on the actual Setup.exe and choosing the option "Run As Administrator"?  Perform, even if your user name is an administrator.

It may be necessary to show both hidden and system files and also uncheck 'Hide known file types' in Control Panel / folder Options / view to navigate to the mentioned location of Temp.

  • Impossible to uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (v 8.0.6100) on Windows 7 (32 bit)

    I am running Windows 7 (32 bit).

I believe that the source of my problem was the following: I tried to install an old TV tuner (MyGica HDTV Thriller X8000A) on my computer. I found the installation CD and ran it.

Installation has failed, but the attempt has left behind Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (v 8.0.6100). I think that maybe this is the version XP from Visual C++ 2005, because he's screwing things upward. Now many programs and devices do not work on my computer.

I tried to uninstall, but I get the error:

    Windows install
The feature you are trying to use is on a network unavailable resource.
Click OK to try again or enter a different path to the folder containing the installation package 'vcredist.msi' in the box below.
    Use source:
    C:\Windows\TEMP\IXP000. TMP\

(Indeed, there no such file in C:\Windows\Temp\.) It is followed by:

The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access.

I also tried the system restore, which fails with an "unspecified" error (0x80070005).

I'm really stuck. My computer does not work right and I would hate to have to go through a system/software full reinstall to fix this.

How can I get rid of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (v 8.0.6100)?

The MS Visual C 8.0.6100 is installed via windows updates important update and is a win7 default install.

This can be long and winded, but I spent 5 hours trying to solve this problem.

It all started when I tried to uninstall a program, but I kept getting the message that wanted me vcredit.msi (or something like that) I downloaded a copy of it and pointed out the program of this file, but it has always found a problem and wouldn't uninstall. So, I moved to the installation of a new program. He repeats to me '\Temp\IXP1. TMP\ is not a valid package for the product Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005

I also have trouble downloading updates Microsoft for Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005 Redistributable & at the same time in updates it shows Microsoft Visual C ++ 2008 Redistributable.

I tried to uninstall Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005 Redistributable via Add/Remove Programs, but it won't let me say it does not find some programs.

This thing is annoys the heck out of me.

I need to set the Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005 Redistributable problem (looks like I need the new version 2008 or 2010?) and be able to install and uninstall programs. Which is somehow related.

Original title: Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005 disorders (installing and uninstalling of programs)

    Hello Angelz,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

The error you get can be caused by components from Visual C++ Runtime libraries that are missing or get conflicted, perhaps due to a third party software or badly configured registry settings.

So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists:

    Method 1:

    a. click Start, right-click computerand then click Properties.

    b. in the name computer, domain, and workgroup settings , click change settings.

(If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.)

    c. click change settings , and then select the Advanced tab click the environment variables button.

    d. the user variables area, click on TEMPand then click change.

    e. in the Variable value box, type C:\Temp, and then click OK twice.

    f. click applyand then click OK.

    g. follow steps 4 to 6 for the variable of environment TMP as well.

    h. confirm this folder C:\Temp exist, otherwise create a.

    i. restart the computer.

    j. attempt to install the application again.

If the steps do not help, try the next method.

    Method 2:

If you are comfortable in changing some registry settings, then follow the steps provided below.

    1. Click Start and type run in start search box, and then press enter.
    2. Type regedit and click OK.

  • Close the registry editor.
  • Restart the computer.
  • Check if you are able to install the application.
  • If the method does not resolve the problem, continue to the next method.

    Method 3:

You can also reinstall Visual C++ Library Runtime components to solve the problem.

You can uninstall all existing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package and check if it helps.

    3. Right-click on it and select Uninstall.
    4. Restart the computer.

Step 2: Download and install the latest package and see if it helps.

Download the relevant package depending on your system's architecture.

  • Strange problem with Visual Studio

    Hello.

I hope to be in the right section.
For some time (I can't say precisely how much, maybe since I've upgraded to Windows 10) I have a problem with Visual Studio 2013.
In practice, after a few minutes, what is open (without doing special things, even just type code) goes down. comes the message "Not responding" and I have to restart to continue working (say that work this way, it becomes impossible).
I tried to reinstall but I have not solved, I have also the same problem even with Visual Studio 2015.
The strange thing is that this problem is only with my user account, and with the remote desktop, sessions instead works without problem.
    What is the problem?

    Thanks a lot to all

I use Windows 7 Professional. I tried to install Guitar Pro 6 on my PC. This software needs Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable to run. But this facility gives following error.

After this error, Windows update is also not working.

    Hi sgtbluebunny,
given that every piece of software that you install using a version of this dll or package c ++, it is it corrupted or missing or maybe messed up in the registry.
Save yourself time... format and reinstall. It will cost a few hours, but save the headaches in the long run.
However, you can always go on the Technet forums and post there.
