Problems with Windows mail and sending attachments

I use Windows Mail and my computer is running on Vista Home Premium.  If I try to send an email with attachment (any size, sometimes with very small files, but also of large files), it seems that the message has been sent.  It appears in the sent items, but it never really happens to recipients.  I even tried from sending me messages with attachments, and they never appear in my Inbox.  If I go to sent items and then click on it and will communicate the message reached the recipient with the attachment.  So strange.  What is going on.  It seems to be sent, but just diappears in space somewhere, acting as if they were sent, but who never reach the recipient

My first guess is that its your antivirus software.  Look at www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 there are a number of anti-virus just don't work well in WinMail, so see if that helps at all.  For example, if you have active scanning emails (or even if not) outgoing messages could have been blocked, but why are they OK transmission is kind of weird.  I suppose it could have to do with the database, then you can try compacting and repairing the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/), but I doubt, it's going to do a lot.

When you try to use a Windows Live e-mail account or a different Web-based e-mail account in Windows Mail, you cannot send e-mail messages?

Windows Mail supports more HTTP servers that are used by Hotmail and other e-mail providers such as AOL mail, Google mail, Yahoo! mail Web.

To resolve your problem, use Windows Live Mail instead of Windows Mail.

Windows Live Mail works with popular Web-based e-mail services such as Hotmail, AOL mail, Google mail, and Yahoo! mail. Windows Live Mail is designed to configure automatically many popular e-mail services.

Windows Mail also supports the types of Server Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) and Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP).

Establishment of a L350-145, I met a problem to start Windows Mail.
At first, I thought that the problem could have been due to a large Import OE, or an interaction with my AV (Kaspersky) or software firewall (Comodo).

However, having disabled from this other software, then by removing existing user Windows Mail files and finally have restored the system to the box start in HARD drive recovery files, I'm still having the problem, it's...

If I do a deed of record (for example, creating or deleting a folder), the list of records not updated until I exit and restart the Windows Mail application. Similarly, if I empty the deleted items folder that contains a folder deleted the content of deleted items not updated until I exit and restart the application.

Because this behavior is allowing me to perform actions on files that have already been made, I fear this could eventually lead to a corruption of file / data mean. And since I can reproduce this problem on a freshly recovered system * before * any operation others actions and installs, I'd be surprised to see that no one he met.

A screen will appear that says I need to download the Service Pack 1 for Vista. He also says that it is more optimal to download the much smaller file, through Windows Update, rather than on the site. But when I check the Windows Update, it did not for me to download. Should I download the version + 400 MB of site or there at - it another way to download smaller files for my PC only? Any help appreciated. Thank you! How will I know if my system type is 32-bit or 64-bit?

Under system, you can view the system type.

Regarding mass storage disks that appear, you have housing of memory card reader on your PC?  Usually they will appear like this.  I have a HP at home that has a Bay of 5 card reader to the front and I see the same type of items that you see. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Problems with Windows Update and load XP SP3

I had a problem with my system and had to replace my HARD drive and reload XP and all my applications and data.  Now, I installed SP2 and try to install SP3. Windows Update does not work (get the 080244019 error code x) and when I try to install the SP3 files from the Microsoft site, it'll run about halfway through and then stop and hang, displaying the message "Finish Installation" with bar at halfway of the progression.  I tried the MSRT and FixIt nothing helps.  I checked services.msc to see all the required services are enabled or started.  I read that some malware will be stop some services without notice.

After a few attempts to load the file SP3 failed, check Add/Remove programs in Control Panel Windows XP Service Pack lists 3 but no file size or to update the date information as with other programs.  My browser is IE8 and I was doing some Hot fix for Windows XP downloads, this adventure started about 3 weeks ago, but no other automatic update downloads.  I use the following McAfee provided by my ISP for protection AV and firewall with regular full scans.  Scan today revealed there is apparently a single trojan file that cannot be deleted, but there were no further details.  My system is also fully functional; I seem to get the updates for McAfee and other applications OK but not SP3.  I received or otherwise installed following updates or Hot Fix for XP downloads in the past 3 weeks:

    KB954550-v5

    KB932823-v3

    KB915800 v4

    KB884020

    KB926239

    KB2618444 (Windows IE8 security update)

I found an answer on another forum on editing the registry for the "/ Edit EDWARD CSDVersion value ' but have not yet tried waiting for any response to this request.  I'd like some useful suggestions.  Thank you and happy new year!

Thanks for the quick response.  I did some checking on my system, I have XP Home Edition ships with the system bought in July 2007.  Add/Remove Programs shows that the aborted install XP SP3 and IE8 installation; I tried to load the SP2 file but it doesn't show here as an addition, so it may have been part of the original XP CD and I just crush.  Even for IE7 so I am not able to drop back to all recommend you.  I will try your solution later today and post my results. I saved SP2, SP3 and IE8 in my office and a flash player to reload later according to your instructions.  Stay tuned.

It would be unusual for a CD of Windows XP (official) to have integrated Internet Explorer 7.

  • I have a problem with Windows Mail

Since my computer crashed a while back I have a folder in my Windows Mail under the name of 'retrieved Messages '. I want to get rid of this folder because it multiplies all the time and is a real nuisance for me. However, the option 'remove' normal does not work. Is there another way to remove this folder except to uninstall "Windows mail" and reinstall again? The ideas so please send me an email directly. My email address is * address email is removed from the privacy *.

There are a few things you can try.  One is to compact and repair the database by using my Windows Mail utility (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Alternatively, you can try to remove your e-mail account and then close and reopen WinMail and see if you can get rid if these records then.  Then add your account to e-mail back again.   And then restart the computer.  If this does not help, then post back as otherwise you will have to reset the message store to fix it.

  • Problem with Windows Mail - "you have a different flavor of Windows Mail installed. Installation cannot be completed. »

My OS is Windows Vista. Whenever I get an update for Windows mail, going through the installation process it stops and gives me a message, "you have a different flavor of Windows Mail installed. Installation cannot be completed. "Should I uninstall Windows Mail and re - install (if so, how?) or do something else?

Which tells you that this error is that you already have an improved version, but you can use uninstall a program from your control panel or by cheque in programs and features.

I think that you will search the windows live essentials 2011.

You may still need to change the way you receive updates recommended by microsoft,

They install allocate optional updates of windows in this setting.

But at this point, I'm not sure if your use of webmail or live messaging software essentials 2011 updated?

You indicate that you want to upgrade? TO?

One thing you should know Messenger sees some problems so the upgrade is not a good idea right now, and if you are using ie 9 it's really going to be more trouble that it's worth.
