In * most * folders that I see in the Finder when a file is moved to the directory it shows in the Finder correspondent discovered, but in * some * of them, the Finder does not update when a new file is moved to the underlying directory, is renamed or deleted entirely.  For example, I see there are 28 video files to be converted into a directory named FLOOR TRANSCODE using ls - ls in the terminal, but only 6 looking at the same folder in the Finder.

  These scripts have been working for several years on this material under El Capitan and Yosemite.

  Records I've noticed so far are all in the root of the drive HD server, not under no/Users. Finder appears to display all files when displaying the files moved to USB external drives for storage after transcoding. Another element that might be relevant, is that my normal view of the mac is via RDP (Remote Desktop "headless", no physical monitor in use).
