  You will need to purchase a license/disk/upgrade Windows 7 product key.

  Microsoft sells more Windows 7 and you would have to buy from Amazon, etc.

  There was a free upgrade offer, but it expired a long time ago:

  Purchased office home and Student 2007 program separately or did it come pre-installed on your computer?
  If it was preinstalled, it was an OEM version and you need to contact the manufacturer of the computer for help.
  You can consult for recovery provided with your computer disks and diskettes for installation of software support.
  If you bought it separately, then did buy you it online or in a retail store?
  If online, check your email to see if you printed or saved information from your product key.

  If you are referring to a product key sticker that is located on your computer, this is the product key for the operating system and
  not for specific products.

  Hello RForgiven, normally when HP or any OEM Microsoft Office load on a system, and you want to use this Office Suite, you are required to buy the product key for installation.

  If you have purchased the Microsoft Office Suite when you purchased the system, you would have shipped a product key in the transmission of your new system.

  Usually, manufacturers never put a product key on the system case as they would the product key for the operating system.

  Just some thoughts.

  For the original version of OS that you got with your laptop, you don't need key product for activation. Whenever you install original recovery image Windows is automatically activated.

  In the past product key label was placed on the bottom of the laptop. New model do not have it.
  Unfortunately you can not do more. Valid product key is part of the original image recovery only and cannot be used for any other activation.
