Product name: HP ENVY 15 Noteb: recovery after upgrade to 10 section

Upgrade to Windows 10 and I was wondering about my recovery disk section. He is also upgraded to 10 or if I used it, it is up to the plant win 8? Should I remove if it is always 8 and free up more space on the C: drive? I don't plan to return to 8 at this time. Appreciate any insite on this matter and thank you

I up graded my HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC windows 8.1 for windows 10. When I restarted the system windows 10 has worked well but I found a software had been deleated. specifically all the cyberlink software had disappeared. How can I get it back? I would like suggestions.

Here is the link which is 8.1 windows updates and download of hp, but I believe it can work and you can try it

Maybe it's not the right pc but you can go to hp and go to support and let it automatically detect your device and once you get to where there are updates and it will be noticed that it is window 10 and check and select windows 8.1 and go from there

    Hello

Standard Portable SSD will perfectly fit the standard of the computer laptop HARD drive. Many SDS are now thinner, but sellers will provide a piece of plastic to make them thicker.

Yes, you can move on to larger capacity. 500 GB is a sweet spot. Now, they are much cheaper. Many vendors autour but only use popular suppliers. I have no luck with few suppliers, their products work by some reasons. I know that Samsung, Sandisk, SSD Crucial work on my machines.

  • Product name: HP ENVY 15 x 360: Mute LED does not work

My mute led (F6) no longer works. The mute real works but not the LED is orange. I have read other forums about this, but they were out of date and do not fix my problem. Help, please.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download Realtek HD Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp66001-66500/sp66250.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers. Right click on the Realtek audio device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box to enable this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp66001-66500/sp66227.exe

After reinstalling Chipset, stop the laptop - for this by holding down the left SHIFT key you click Shutdown to temporarily prevent a boot hybrid.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu. Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER. Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

When windows has reloaded, open your download folder, right click on the installer of Realtek and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation. When it finished, restart the computer before checking if the 'secret' led works now.

    Kind regards

  • Product name: HP ENVY 15 No. TS: docking station for my laptop HP ENVY 15 TS

I just bought this laptop and I need to buy a station of dociking to it.

With my previous laptop was a connector on the bottom which would align with the docking station and to operate.

The HP ENVY 15 TS laptop does not seem to have special connections. What dociking it uses station?

    Thank you

Consumer laptops no longer have an option for a dock "bring down" which is a shame but the standard in the industry today. HP Business models have this option. The only thing that you can use with the consumption patterns is a USB 3.0 'docking station' which is a misnomer because they are really 'port replicator. However, USB 3.0 has a bandwidth sufficient to reproduce all the ports on the laptop so that they can have gigabit ethernet, sound and video quality even multi-monitor which works very well.

    Something like this:

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-Replicator-docking-H1L08AA-ABA/DP/B008KMDVME

See, this one has 2 x usb x 2 2 3 usb, audio, ethernet, hdmi and displayport. It has its own power when you connect laptop connect two cables from the laptop... of its own power cord and then plug into a usb 3.0 port on the laptop. Almost as fast as "align to the bottom."

  • Panic of recovery after upgrade

I have a MBP end 2011 running El Capitan and I just upgraded using 16 GB memory OWC and a 1 TB SSD.  Yes, I know that Apple only supports up to 8 MB, but OWC sells what it is tested by them at work, like several other providers.

I transferred my system and the files for the SSD using a Super Duper Clone of my old internal drive and installed a recovery partition using this utility http://musings.silvertooth.us/2014/07/recovery-partition-creator-3-8/ (Version 4.1 for El Capitan) and setup of El Capitan.

All tested fine running as an external drive with 4 GB memory existing...  The recovery partition started on CMD - R and CMD-Option deductions.  I then installed the internal SSD, as well as memory. I need CMD - R to retrieve my Time Machine backup.  Given that the MBP has only 2 USB that I could be a SATA drive, I made a cut on Super Duper Clone and intended to load data faster from my backup drive.

Everything seemed fine until I tried CMD - R.  I have the following errors, running on the Apple Boot logo:

Any idea what's going on here? The only difference I can see test is the new memory and executes the SSD internally, not external.

Sorry - some typos, not surprising in a post early in the morning...

Yes, I know that Apple only supports up to 8 MB...

    It's obviously GB not MB.

    (Version 4.1 for El Capitan)

.. is actually the 4.0.3 version in the menu downloads at the link given.

The only difference I can see...

I also had, as perhaps was obvious from the footer, created a Bootcamp partition using the disk, but not actually installed the Bootcamp with Winclone clone again, as they advise for your OS X in the first order.  In any case, with El Capitan I need to disable SIP before I have recover my Winclone clone, and requiring a CMD - R https://twocanoes.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204838719-Winclone-and-OS-X-10-1 1-El-Capitan.

I guess my next step is to reinstall the old 4 GB of memory and see if the panic stops.

  • HP Envy CL 4-1043 - after restoring backup USB 32 GB SSD unused image

Product name: HP Envy CL 4-1043 Ultrabook.

    Product number: B5T09UA #ABA

Installed OS: Windows 7 Home Pemium 64-bit installed.

    History of the issues:

1 32 GB SSD failed after 3 months. Sent to the HP service center to get it replaced.

2 HP replaced my 500 GB HDD too. I have a set of previously created on my USB recovery image.

3 restored my Ultrabook OS & Software mode factory default using my USB recovery image.

    4. the Ultrabook was recovered in factory default mode, that is to say all OS and software factory is now in the "C:" partition

5 everything seems to work fine, except that my 32 GB SSD now appears as "D:" without files inside the drive.

    Now the complaint:

    1. the 32 GB SSD was initially supposed to act as a cache device, allowing to the "moment - we ', caching bed and written to speed up my HARD drive performance. It was not visible to the user before.

    2. now, the 32 GB appears as a normal drive "D:". There seems to be no activity of caching at all.

    3. performance of the disk operations is now much slower than before.

    4. power of loan is now 1 minute 15 seconds. (It has been dry 9 only)

I suspect that the caching software does not work after the recovery of the image. How can I reactivate the feature caching using the SSD of 32 GB?

It turns out that when I retrieve the ultrabook by using the backup image stored on the USB drive, the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver is disabled by default. When the HP service centre replaced the SSD, they reformatted to an NTFS partition. So with disabled fast pilot Intel Storage Technology, the DSS appeared to be another drive.

I solved the problem by reactivating the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver manually. The SSD data has been deleted and hidden from view. Everything is working as it was originally intended to be now.

Execution of xoq_validate_verbose points to the problem if libstdc ++. so.5 cannot be found, perhaps, he does not exist or is not able to access because of file permissions. This file is installed with compat-libstdc ++-33.

  • Recovery after disaster - new host names, locations of different files. -noob

    Hello

I am a "junior dba' best, pardon the beginner questions.

I'm learning works recovery after disaster before that I never do. My scenario is that I'm assuming the worse where I actually take backups RMAN backupsets and auto, copy them to a new computer, and all rise again.

In the documentation, I read that it says that you should copy tnsnames.ora and listener.ora. My first question is my hostname dead.franklyn.bignose.ca machine "works, but pretending is dead" and the NEW machine has live.franklyn.bignose.ca. tnsnames and listener.ora both of course refers to old.franklyn.bignose.ca, so I do not know how to approach this problem.

Second, the new machine is that a new installation of 11.2.0.3 and the db home in/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/ old one was an update of 11.2.0.1 11.2.0.3 so he lives at u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.3/dbhome_1/. I don't know how cranky that will make Oracle.

    Any comments or advice?

My first question is my hostname dead.franklyn.bignose.ca machine "works, but pretending is dead" and the NEW machine has live.franklyn.bignose.ca. tnsnames and listener.ora both of course refers to old.franklyn.bignose.ca, so I do not know how to approach this problem.

You must set your file listener.ora accordingly with respective host names. Say about the live host name, the listener.ora should have the hostname as living and dead server, the listener.ora must have the hostname as dead

It wouldn't matter. Only thing is, you must make the appropriate changes in the required files (say listener.ora).

  • Cannot install recovery image on my Equium after upgrade HARD drive

    Hello

I just installed a new hard drive for my Toshiba laptop Equium I contacted Toshiba who informed me that I could mount up to 1 TB, I opted for with a 500 GB at halfway.
After installing the drive I inserted the disc of recovery after a while, it was loaded with the operation completed successfully message. Next message put in place windows could not configure windows to run on this computer hardware. Then windows could not complete the installation to install windows on installation, this restart of the computer...

At the end of the restore process a message tells me to remove the recovery disc and output as soon as I get the laptop stops and doesn t re boot automatically. During the next restart windows message Vista starts for the first time then the cycle starts again. I tried to reload several times recovery according to the instructions, but not good.

    Any help much appreciated

I put t know which model of laptop you have, but if the recovery image is Vista, it must be quite old model, maybe Equium A200.
To be honest I didn't experiment with the upgrade of the HARD drive on older models, but I can imagine the image recovery are a problems with hard drives with huge capacities.

Display please model name and which HDD you inside now.
By the way: if possible, try to install Win7 using Microsoft installation disc. I m it will be safe works without any problem.

For some reason, it seems that the update of the BIOS wiped out relevant info in your BIOS. It will require repairs at HP to restore the info.

Windows7 Home was broken, but the hardware is OK. I have no disk with Windows 7 Home.

My request is: how to install Windows 7?

    Hello

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a very respected source (Digital River).

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

You may need, additional drivers and software are here.
