Product sheet - number of disk in a PC

I looked at the data sheet of the product on the HP website for my computer, an HP Pavilion, model No. p6516f. I wanted to know if there was room for a second internal hard drive. I did find the answer there. So how/where is this a know how many slots drive hard internal (extension bays) is available on his PC (without having to open it)?

There is a cage of hard drive at the front of the merits of the case that contains two HARD drives. Please refer to the operating instructions on "adding or replacing a hard drive" for more information on opening the case and access to the cage.

  • IQ524: find product key number

I have an IQ524 all-in-one computer, I received the computer with Vista and a few months later I received a package of HP discs for windows 7, in which I installed quickly. I want to install windows 10. I just found out that I can go to Cnet, who sends me to the download site. At first, I couldn't find my product key, the key that I have on my computer is only 20 letters and numbers for a long time. I found the product key number 25 on the back of my computer, but I guess is for the Vista operating system.

The package of disks for windows 7 OS have no numbers on it what so ever, so I have no idea what product key number and I don't think I've ever had that number. Where can I find or is it possible to get another number product key for windows 7, so I can install Windows 10 on my computer? Now that I think about it, do I need a product key number (for windows 7) I got the number for Vista?

    Thanks in advance...

    Fred

From what I understand, the upgrade to Windows 10 does not require that you know the product key for Windows 7.  Until Windows 7 is functional and active, then you are good to upgrade to Windows 10 using the update function M$.

When you bought the computer, he had the pre-installed Windows 7?
If so, this is a version of OEM license.
Not worth trying all of 3rd party product key finders. They do not work on the OEM version.

You call the computer manufacturer and ask what follows...

    1. a set of recovery disks. Its cost is minimal and money well spent. The game will save your computer if it crashes.
    2. talking to a technician and ask for instructions access your recovery as well as partition to use it to restore your computer.

The 2 methods above does not need to enter the product key.

Note: The methods above will restore your computer to factory State. You will lose all your personal files and programs you had installed. If you still have ways to support those up to a flash drive or an external hard drive, do so now.

  • Product identification number

Trying to get Microsoft support, I get a screen that asks you the product identification number.  It offers two choices: type the number or leave Microsoft to find the number on my computer.  I typed the number on the instructions, but I get a message that there is a problem with the number, and I am asked to leave Microsoft to find the number.  When I do that, I get a message that Microsoft cannot locate the number and I should type, which of course, I tried everything.  There are no other options.  How should I proceed?

If your Vista operating system is preinstalled, it is classified as an OEM license and all the support that it comes from the manufacturer of your computer, not Microsoft.

If you have purchased an OEM/license disk yourself, the same conditions shall apply relating to support; as you become a system integrator.

  • How can I find my product ID number?

My computer crashed and cannot be repaired with recovery disk.  I reinstalled Vista.  I had lost my product ID number and not able to get it back.  Does anyone have a solution to find?  I called Microsoft and my main computer company and they don't have a copy of it.  Thank you.

If you had your system if running active Vista Operatng still underway, we could have given you a link of program to retrieve.
But this option does not apply to you.

The figure of 25 (to 5 groups of 5 digits) product key is normally:

Desktop: on the side or back
    Laptop: on the underside.

If you can't find it here, we can not help you.

    See you soon.

You cannot use a Windows 7 Professional anytime upgrade product key with reinstall media, it can be used only to upgrade license of qualification basis where you bought the upgrade in the first place (Starter, Home Premium).

The first thing you need to do is to get your key to Windows 7 Professional upgrade Express:

An e-mail containing your product key will be sent to the e-mail address associated with your Windows Live ID account or e-mail address you provided if you ignored the account configuration. Note: If you use an email tool or spam blocker spam filter, be sure that you can receive e-mail messages from microsoft.com.

What happens if I lose my product key?

If you lose your product key, you can return to

www.Windows7.com/GetKey and sign in using the "Sign In" link in the upper right of the page. This will allow to recover your product key if you have established your account with your Windows Live ID. If you do not configure a Windows Live ID account initially there is no record of your online product key. Check your e-mail since it is the only trace of your product key.

If your computer is pre-installed with Windows 7:

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.
    ------------------------------------
This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...
For Dell, press F8 on the keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...
For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

As I said I did system restore and things work well for the moment. But how the ati catlyst, more I tried to apply to get to speak with a technician but you must put the product identification number and I have the right one but it does not accept so I can't get to talk to a tech cause there are other drivers too that need updates and I do not know the name of their , and I assume that they would be able to find them. So, how can I get with a tech where this crazy to do application does not accept my product ID number

There dell and got the product number id is dell optiplex 745 and I have the serial number and express service code, product id number is what the application to get him talking about technology, it's what's not in ecxepted I get the error message indicating that it is the wrong code when I know very well that it is the right code

"System Restore" - do you mean the one built into Windows or a Dell may have placed on the system to restore the computer to its factory settings?

Just go to the Dell Support web page, drivers and downloads section and choose the OptiPlex 745 in general and the correct operating system and architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) to display the list of drivers for your operating system Dell approved.

  • How to decode my product SKU number? SKU is related to the product KEY?

So, I would like to know what means 66R-02595 SKU. I know it's abd Stock Keeping Unit that all the numbers refer to the different versions of Windows.

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

A storage unit or SKU is a unique identifier for each distinct product and service that can be purchased. Use of the SKU system is rooted in data management, allowing the company systematically follow their availability in stock or product, as in the warehouses and points of sale. They are often assigned and merchant level. Each Reference is attached to an item, variant, product range, bundle, services, fees, or an attachment. Unfortunately, we are unable to decode the product SKU number.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.
