Profile of Photoshop Black and white for printing

I'm a black and white photographer, this issue is so important for me to solve. I've been looking online and I still have to find the answer, so I hope someone can help.

I need to know how to set up the profiles of black and white in Photoshop for printing. The printer I have is a canon Pixma Pro 9000 mark II

I need real black and white. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion. If you need me to provide more information let me know.

I often print black & white work on an Epson, using advanced black & white in the print driver.

A quick Internet search found that there is something similar for Canon - Canon: PIXMA Manual: Guide to Digital Photo printing: printing black and white

I print files scanned in grayscale and have the profile to grayscale in PS 2.2 Gamma value.

If you print digital photos, they will be RGB, but which will probably make no difference. But you have to read the documentation for the Canon if it will be. IOW - if the image must be in grayscale or RGB levels.

Something very important when printing as this is to set the printer to manage colors (not PS) in the dialog box print of PS.

  • Cannot print just black and white - cannot print all black when a low cartridge

I had this 6700 Officejet just long enough the warranty has expired. Go figure. I have 2 problems.

    1. from my PC, it will print not just black and white, even if I chose "printing black and white only. I have to go through the whole syetem of dialogue ect ect, which is delayed. It prints perfectly just black and white of my portable Macbok.

    2. it won't let me print a document all in black and white, because I have a low color cartridge. Whey do I have to have color cartridges to print just a black and white document. Very annoying and frustrating. I'm almost ready to use as target.

    Hi fpsolutionsllc,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I understand your frustration and want to enlighten us and also bring some answers to your questions about the ink on your HP OfficeJet 6700 systems.

    1. you are able to go to your printer properties and change your settings for printing in black and white only, without having to change it whenever you want to print something. See the steps listed below:

    * Go to your devices and printers

    * Right-click on your 6700 and select Print Options

    * Select your desired default and press Ok

    2. you cannot print without all cartridges installed because even if printing black and white printer will still use the ink contained in the cartridges of color for maintenance tasks. It takes little ink from all cartridges in the service of the print head and avoid any clogging. To get a better understanding of take a look here: use of inkjet printers ink.

I've found this useful information here: a 'ink alert' or "Low on ink" Message appears on the computer or the printer control panel

    Thank you

Is it possible to set the default color setting black and white driver and not in color?

I know how to change the setting for each document that I want to print, but I print almost all black and you want to set the driver up to always default to black so I did not change the setting in the properties of each time.

  • Help: VISTA is only in BLACK and WHITE for the admin user

I went to another user in a game that worked well, but when I logged in this user and back in my usual admin user account, every day the screen is black and white while charging. Everything still functions very well except there is no color - all settings in the control panel and NVIDIA Control Panel suggests that it is the color display. If I connect to another account the color returns. Unfortunately system restore has been disabled for some reason any so that I can't restore to an earlier time. I downloaded and re-installed the latest driver for my graphics (NVIDIA 260 M GTX), but this does not solve the problem.

Google search suggests some people have had this same problem, but still there are no solutions. Any help much appreciated.

  • HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 1515: The printer does not print in black and white

Whenever I have print using my "Hp Deskjet Ink Advantage 1515' black ink never gets printed.

Color ink seems to work very well. The cartridge ink levels are really low. It is a problem since I use black and white for documents without photos. When I print something in black, I get everything just a blank page

I ran hp print and scan the doctor but it did not solve my problem, instead, she updated driver for the printer that was not really helpful.

    Hello, abdulmajid13,

If printing works very well in the beginning, black print cartridge installed, you screenshot, now the black ink is about 20%. But is that the ink level "estimated".

I recommend you replace the black cartridge. If the problem is still there with a new cartridge installed, you may need to contact customer service, they will help on troubleshooting below.

    Hope this helps your question.

  • How to select the pieces of my image in black and white?

How to select the pieces of my image in black and white? FOW example letter J or the circle or the two together?

    jaguar_growler_blur best8.png

It's actually pretty easy, but I have to assume that you know a few basics in Photoshop

    (1) open your existing image

    (2) double click on the layer and the 'layer style' appears. In the mix if area set the sliders so the whites in the image disappears

You will be left with just the black elements in design

    (3) duplicate layers

    and merge them together

    to give a standard layer

    (4) ctrl or cmd click on the layer to select and create a layer mask

    (5) you now have a mask of the image. Duplicate the layer, click alt or option, click on the layer mask to call

    (6) the blacks and the whites are not completely black and white for the use of levels to adapt to the absolutes

    (7) now you have to decide what you want to select. In this case, I chose the lettering and simply covered everything else to the top with black. You do this by lasso selection and fill and items when it's delicate brush just the details with a black brush "hard." .

    (8) at this stage, you can do what you want you have a layer mask. So you can color the text for example

or place in a background color and apply a layer as Beveling effect

Hope that makes some sense. It is much easier to do than to describe.

  • Photoshop CS5 print color in black and white graphics

I have Photoshop CS5 12.1 x 64 on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.10.5 with a Canon Pixma MP560 printer. Until a few minutes ago, has been printing very good Photoshop, but now it prints all graphics in black and white color. Before posting this request, I tried the printer on several other applications, including Word, Firefox and Adobe Acrobat, and all are printed correctly. Apparently, I clicked inadvertently something in Photoshop which has not extinguished color printing. I've attached a screenshot of a dialog box print in Photoshop with a simple image two-tone. I hope someone here can help you.

Thanks for the screenshots, they are a great help

In the first screen, uncheck grayscale printing. It is another name for black & white.

    2. go in the file menu > hover your mouse over Print > press and hold the space key

    3 try printing

This would reset the printing preferences for Photoshop.

  • Black and white printing only problem for Mac at HP6480 all-in-one printer

Does anyone know how to get the printer to print in black and white only?  As others have mentioned, the printer wants to use the cartridge printing black and white color.  When I explore each print option, drop down menu, question mark, it has no option to reset the printer b & w printing only, even if the summary section lists this option in one of windows printing.

Have you tried cmd - p of any application, paper Type/quality and in grayscale, choose this menu?

  • How to Setup printing black and white only in my Windows 10 for my new HP ENVY 4500 priter?

I do not always want to use color hologram.  I want to save money. And if the black ink has not been used for a long time, it will be dry and waste.   But I did find this setting in the property of the printer. There is no such setting in Windows 10? If anyone can help? Thank you!

    Hello

Setup may vary a bit from the printer to the printer but at the bottom (for Windows):

    (a) double-click the desktop printer icon.
    (b) click on set preferences.
    (c) click on advanced.
d select "black ink only" for printing in Grayscale
    (e) click Ok/apply.

Note: Printer must always and uses a very small aomount of color during the heating of the process inks.

    Kind regards.

  • Why my PRO - 100 black-and-white prints have a color tint?

I print out on the printer PIXMA Pro-100 and sometimes, for no apparent reason (?), my black and white prints have a color tint (generally a "reddish brown"), then when printing to new... same settings print, same... the same impression will be fine, neutral with no tint at all.

    No idea why?

Also (perhaps related?) I do not understand why Photo-Cyan and Magenta cartridges are exhausted when I'm NOT print color, but only black and white.  Am I missing something?  When you set up for printing, I always make sure that the 'Black and white photography' feature is selected in settings dialog "Quick Installation".  This ensures not only the black and gray inks are used as long as I'm not "toning"?  In other words... ONLY black and gray inks are used, if not the impression that is supposed to be a black and white printing neutral? Yet once... I missed something?

    FOR INFO:

I print on Canon Pro radiance papers and more glossy.

Under 'Options - color management', I selected:

(color management) Photoshop Elements handles colors

    (image area) Adobe RGB (1998)

(the printer profile) Canon PRO-100 1/2 Luster Photo Paper Pro

    (rendering mode) Perceptual

The most important thing is the paper you choose to print on.  Find this first release. Any Epson printer which uses UltraChrome K3 inks will do a better job with B & W as a Pro-(anything).  But Epson suffers from obstruction more far do, Canon Pro-100 problems.

If you print a lot is not too big of a problem, but if you print once a week or once a month to forget it.  Go with Canon that clogged very rarely, if ever.

Try to find the right paper.  It will make everything better.  Call the Red River or Canson and ask them to recommend a book.  Red River will work with you and they know the Pro - 100 inside and outside.

  • InDesign displays black and white unlike photoshop

9.2 inDesign displays the images in black and white diffently than photoshop. Both have the same ICC profiles for color and black and white settings are the same.

How can I get InDesign to display the same photoshop?

In fact, I suspect that we can talk about levels of grey here and ID are no profiles in grayscale. All values of K are treated in the same way as on the plate K of the document CMYK profile, which means grayscale can display and output lighter or darker than expected. Overview of overprinting will give you a more accurate indication of the production.

To get the output to match levels of grayscale in Photoshop and print from ID, you can use the K channel of the CMYK profile like gray profile in Photoshop.
