Program cannot start because wlidcli.dll is missing. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I'm trying to set up parental controls for my son.  I get this error at all times and must go to the process in the Task Manager to get the message to stop appearing.  I installed twice things of all Live essentials - all of them even if I don't want or need all - and still get this error message.

When I go to the website of parental controls and select WLFS in the box for additional controls and then click user account from my son a pop-up message appears and disappears so fast, that I do not see what is the error message.

How can I fix it?

Thank you

Original title: program cannot start because wlidcli.dll is missing.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Hello

It is possible that you setup parental controls are corrupt. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Uninstall Essentials by using the CMD line parameter. Please follow the steps in this link:

How to uninstall Windows Essentials through the CMD line parameter

2 remove the Windows Live folders on the following directories:

C:\Program Files\Windows Live
C:\Program Files\Windows Live Files\Fichiers

Note: If there is more than one Program Files folder when you open the C drive, and then double-click Program Files x 86 instead.

3 reinstall Windows Essentials. Please refer to this article for the download link:

Windows Essentials 2012

Thank you!

David Y has the correct syntax to decompress the file.  You have already the program 'develop' on your system.

The files that you see in i386 with underscore as the last character are compressed files (to save space). This type of compression is not the same when you say XP to compress a file.

Sometimes it is useful to understand that you can unzip these files there is you need if you come across one that is missing or suspect some time later.   Browse this folder and you will see a large number of files compressed, where the last character is an underscore character.

Remember - sfc/scannow will not replace the missing files and it won't replace not a file may have been overwritten by another program, but you can always develop a new copy if you need to.

Just make sure to type the commands to make it work.

I have my XP Service Pack 3 copied my E drive installation CD in a folder called E:\xp_source, and when I expanded my mfc42u.dl_ file I got a result like this:

    e:\xp_source\i386\mfc42u.dl_: bytes 378327 extended to 981760 bytes, 159% increase.

The new expanded file will not have the time now to this topic, so don't expect to see that - just check that the missing file is present.

There should be some unnatural effort to actually remove one of 3498 XP as your protected files.  If you rename or delete just one of these files, Windows File Protection will be quickly and quietly replace it unless the Windows File Protection is also broken, so you can figure out how your file became missing in the first place.

If manually, you delete or rename a file monitored system, you will see an event like this in the Event Viewer system log when the Windows File Protection replaces:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Windows File Protection
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 64002
    Description:
File replacement was attempted on the protected system file c:\windows\system32\mfc42u.dll. This file was restored to the original version to maintain system stability. The file version of the system file is 4.1.0.6151.

I would suspect some quarantied app antivirus or anti-malware (actually deleted) your file for you and that would be a problem.

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

What you use, you can follow up with these:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/

    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, then to solve any problems.

    Hi Roykarnataka,

MSVCP90.dll errors might indicate a problem of registry, a virus or malware problem, or even a hardware failure.

Scan the checker (SFC) system files on your computer and check if it helps fix the problem.

SFC analyzes and verifies the versions of all protected system files after you restart your computer.

  • Program cannot start because MSVCR71.dll is missing

I have Windows Office home and Student 2007 and a 64-bit system.  When you try to open a pdf file in Windows Live Mail, I received this message: the file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.  Install a program or, if such is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel.  The program cannot start because MSVCR71.dll is missing on your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.  In addition, after trying to update Adobe Reader, the update has failed because of lack MSVCR71.dll.  Where and how can I get this file missing?

You may need to resave MSVCR71. DLL or scanner and update/replace it.

    1. First Explorer to make sure that there is a copy of MSVCR71. DLL in the folder c:\Windows\System32. Alternatively, click Start and typemsvcr71.dll. It should be the only thing listed above. Right click, Properties should check its location in c:\Windows\System32.
    2. Click on the Start button and type cmd. Make a right-click cmd , inscription at the top of the list and run it as an administrator. Provide the credentials if necessary.
    3. Re-register the. DLL, type regsvr32 msvcr71.dll . If that solves the problem, you are finished.
    4. If the problem is still there, run a System File Check in the same window CMD. Typesfc/scannow

This will take a few minutes. A clean update system should bring back something that looks like this:

    C:\>sfc/scannow
Start scanning system.  This process will take time.
Start of the phase of verification of the scanning system.
    Full check of 100%.
Windows resource protection did not find any breach of integrity.

Could you try it and report the results?

Original title: I am a computer newbie, could someone explain/direct me?  Many thanks, Mark

Recently, I received an Apple update normal I-tunes.  Have done a little before, never with a problem.  This time, it seemed that everything was fine, then at the end (when expects a message "successfully installed", I received an error box with this: APS Daemon.exe - error system, the program cannot start because MSVCR80.dll is missing on your computer.)  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. "Well, since nothing else seems to work (or helping) and my music files have been backed up, I uninstalled I-Tunes successfully, then attempted to re - install.  I had to download the installation of Apple, which was very good. Once again, everything seemed to go smoothly, installation, etc. until it got to the point when he said "Marketing Services".  Then, as before - everything stopped and jumped up to the exact same APS Daemon.exe - error box system (with the same message) referencing MSVCR80.dll once again, saying that it is missing and try to reinstall the program.  From now on, I don't know exactly what that means (I know, I know) or if it's something someone like I could fix (or even try), or if I should just run down to my local computer store?   Never had any problems with the Apple or Windows updates before this one.
