Progress bar on every reboot.

Greetings,

I recently did a clean install of El Capitan on a drive in my Mac Pro 8-core (early 2008). First, I installed Snow Leopard (10.6.3) DVD, then I installed the 10.6.8 update, then El Capitan on the App Store. Everything seems to work fine, but every time I leave the Mac of this player, I get a progress under the gray apple icon bar. The bar gets to half way through, and then I get desktop, icons, etc. (i.e. a normal startup). This is something that I expected to see after I installed an update and rebooted, but not every time thereafter. I'm not 100% positive, but I do not think that this was happening until I installed Recovery Update 1.0 and iTunes 12.3.2 on the App Store. Or was there from the beginning, and I just did not notice it? What is the new normal for the home screen in OS X?

Thank you

DM

It is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. It has become the norm with Yosemite and continues with El Capitan.

  • Update the progress bar

    Hello

    When the records are saved in the database SQLite in my application I want to show the progress, because it may take a few seconds, if the amount of data to be backed up is large. So I defined a variable of the ProgressBar:

    private var _pbSaveContent:ProgressBar = new ProgressBar();

    Initializing the user interface I define the attributes and add it to the scene, but still manage not visible (I do that only when the feature there is place to save records is requested):

    with (_pbSaveContent)
    {
        width = 624;
        x = 200;
        y = 250;
        height = 10;
        visible = false;
    }

    addChild(_pbSaveContent);

    Now, when the function is executed to save records in the database I first make visible progress (among others) bar:

    _pbSaveContent.visible = true;

    then count the number of records to be created and then use this number to update the progress bar after every saved recording:

    _pbSaveContent.progress += _numProgressStep;

    I was expecting to the progress bar would be updated every time with the above statement, but the progress bar (filled to 100%) is displayed after all records have been created.

    How can I solve this?

    Unless there is a way to force the Flash to operate on a synchronous cycle frame, you cannot get this to work without changing your stuff of SQLite to use asynchronous support.  I never heard speak in a kind of routine "updateNow()" who would be able to do this, but I'm not a Flash developer for a long time so I could easily just have heard of him yet.

    Search the openAsync() call in the SQLConnection documentation to learn more about the switch to asynchronous SQLite stuff, where the database work is done in another thread and does not prevent your UI to update normally.

  • Stuck on Start Up Apple screen logo with 50% progress bar, tried everything. Help, please!

    Hello world. I'd appreciate it really all the advice that you can offer me to help me fix my laptop. I have a mid-2010 Pro 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo Macbook running OS X Yosemite. A year ago, he started trolling a lot, so replaced the HDD with a Samsung 850 EVO 120 GB SSD internal 2.5 inch SATA III. He works much better since.

    A few days ago, I bought a Google Chromecast and had set up with my MBP. Subsequently, he began trolling and I noticed there are apps in the Launchpad, that I had never downloaded (reader of Google, Gmail, Youtube, etc.). I could not remove these applications or drag them to the trash. Concerned, I decided to back up my files on a USB key and re - install the OS X.

    However, during the priming of the MBP, it is stuck on the Apple logo screen, with the bar never go beyond 50%. (Photo: http://postimg.org/image/66qh6x633/)

    What I tried:

    PHASE 1 (Before reformatting)

    -Safe Mode: Button power button and shift held down. Hit or miss, worked 1-2 times, but when I reboot, is again stuck at the Apple logo.

    -Reinstall OS X: CMD + R; After 15-20 minutes get to OS X utility screen; Reinstalled OS X Yosemite; 7 hours to reinstall - but when the mbp restarts to complete the installation, it is stuck at the Apple logo again.

    -Reformatting: CMD + R; 15-20 minutes get to OS X utility screen (several reboots to work); Select repair for all discs/drives (Samsung SSD, HD Recovery). Exit said that both are very good; Select clear to HD recovery. When this was done, I tried to reinstall OS X Yosemite, but the MBP shuts down suddenly. When I turned on it again, it is returned to be stuck on the loading screen Apple logo. Attempt to restart after 15 +, but same result every time.

    PHASE 2 (After reformatting).

    -Power-> CMD + R = blocked screen Apple logo with 50% progress bar

    -Power-> Option = shows 2 player and free Wi - Fi area (Pic: http://postimg.org/image/58qi2j1vl/); Have you tried all the combinations, but regardless, always gets stuck at the screen of the Apple logo to 50% complete, after an hour, I suddenly hear ' to use English as the main language... ". ", but the screen is still stuck. I left it on 36 hours once and nothing has changed

    -Power-> Shift = error (Pic: http://postimg.org/image/tahklsvy1/); Keep restarting or shows some other error (Pic: http://postimg.org/image/thstc6b59/) and restart. Never crosses.

    Tried other things:

    -Reset PRAM: When restarting MBP, is stuck at the Apple logo screen, 50% progress bar

    -Reset SMC: Stuck on the Apple logo screen for a long time and then the screen turns off, but the laptop is still on. When I press Caps Lock, the indicator light lights up. Also, after some time, I again hear "to use English as...". "even if the screen is off. No matter what I press, it does not wake up to the screen.

    Note:

    -The bottom of the laptop feels hot (maybe), but I do not hear the drive in motion.

    I am trying to save my mbp because I can't get a new one for a few months. Any advice/help is greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!!!

    P.S.: I only am not too computer savvy, please use everyday words words/non-tech, when possible, thank you!

    Remove the SSD and install it in a closed Chamber.  Connect it to the MBP via USB.  It will start?

    Ciao.

  • YouTube progress bar keeps flashing

    I don't think it's a problem of FF because it also happens when I use IE 10, but I always get better help than Youtube or IE.

    When I watch a video on Youtube the guard progress bar appearing and disappearing every few seconds if you move the mouse. I tried to move the mouse in an area off the screen and turn it off (the mouse, it's a Microsoft 3500 wireless) but that made no difference, it just guard appearing and disappearing every few seconds.

    It does exactly the same thing if I use IE10, so I don't think it's an add-on to FF or app. I never use IE10 so I don't have a bunch of applications loaded on it.

    Other sites video don't do this then I think it's a problem of Yotube. He just started to arrive two days ago. Does anyone else have this problem? Or a solution?

    Well I don't know if it will work or not. When I'm went on Youtube to try your suggestion the problem had resolved itself!

    Your good suggestion sounds and quick response is appreciated so I'll mark your message as useful/solved.

  • Progress bar on start-up

    I feel completely stupid to ask these questions, but I'll ask rather those of you who know what you are doing rather than mess up something. When I boot my iMac (late 2013 27 "iMac - 32 GB of memory OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 v) I get a black screen with the apple logo and a progress bar every time like it is reload the operating system.

    Is this normal? It really slows the startup.

    Yes, it's normal.  Your computer starts.

    I have a problem with my blackberry bold 9700. When I reboot, the next screen that comes after the progress bar screen is my network name of phone, and nothing happens. I get a screen of "vodafone" with their logo.  nothing happens after and I am not able to access blackberry. What's wrong. any help on how to run again

    Hello and welcome to the community!

    I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

    It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

    If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

    But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

    Good luck and let us know!

  • Progress bar not updated on Windows

    Hello

    I have a script that creates a mask on each frame of a video. In the user interface, I have a progress bar (with the maximum value of the number of my video image) that increments every time that the work on the framework. I also have a counter of the completed framework.

    The progress bar and the meter work well my mac (CS6), but on my windows (also CS6) the progress bar and the meter will not refresh. Instead, a rotation beach ball appears. The script itself works on both systems, but I don't have the updated progress bar and counter Windows.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Hello.

    Can you post your code?

    You can also try this:

    1. var PBWin is new window ('palette', 'Progress', [0,0,300,70]);.
    2. var ProgressText = PBWin.add ("statictext", 12,10, 190 (30) and "Progress");
    3. var ProgressBar is PBWin.add ("progressbar", [10,40,290,60], 0, 50);.
    4. this.windowRef = PBWin;
    5. PBWin.show ();
    6. PBWin.center ();
    7. for (i = 0; i<50;>
    8. ProgressBar.value = i;
    9. ProgressText.text = "treatment of things" (ProgressBar.value + 1) + "of" + 50; ' "
    10. PBWin.update ();
    11. $.sleep (200);
    12. }
    13. Alert ("Done");
  • Progress bar get about 60% and stuck

    Hello

    I had difficulties with the last update of El Capitan - my imac will not re-start and could get stuck on the spinning wheel. I could turn it off with the power switch and turn it back on w/out the update and it works great except for chrome.

    Today I was asked to restart the update and I thought I'd give it a try. This time, he stops normally and looked like it will re-start! While she has been reset the progress bar froze on the gray apple screen and then the screen started to Flash. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Use the Combo Update 10.11.6:

    Apple - Support - downloads

    The Combo update is a complete installation, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update, so you have to overwrite all files are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have previously applied. All your data and settings must be kept, but that said, you should always have a backup.

  • Where the dialogue progress bar copy

    Hello

    I tried to copy something big (about 6 GB) from one folder to another folder to an external HARD drive. How is he had no copy automatically appeared in the Yosemite progress bar to display the status of the copy.

    How can I get the dcopy progress bar dialog to appear (as he did in Yosemite)?

    Thank you

    Not sure I understand the question. If you move a file from one folder to another folder on the same drive, there is no need of a progress bar. It would be just to change the path of the file.

  • With the help of the CocoDialog in AppleScript progress bar

    Script editor 2.7 (176)

    2.4 AppleScript

    I'm trying to use CocoaDialog with AppleScript to view and update a progress bar. However, I can't know exactly how to invoke a progress in AppleScript bar. I could not even open a window for future progress bar, and still less of the update.

    Please could someone advise me as to what AppleScript code should I put in the simple loop example below to create a progress bar CocoaDialog and running.

    Thank you very much

    Andrew.

    ----------------------------------------------------------

    cocoaDialogFilePath the value "/ Applications/CocoaDialog.app/Contents/MacOS/CocoaDialog".

    the value of myText to form quotes "is a progress bar.

    -Bar settings first progress

    shell script cocoaDialogFilePath & "progressbar - text" & myText & "‑‑percent" & 0 & '‑‑float' & '‑‑stoppable '.

    -Create a loop and update the progress bar

    Repeat with 1 to 5 myCounter

    < What code put here for display and update the bar using the value of the progression CocoaDialog myCounter? >

    delay 1

    end repeat

    ----------------------------------------------------------

    There is an short and progress bar example here macosautomation. Or an example of an AppleScript/CocoaDialog Progress bar here. The native OS X 10.10 or later AppleScript approach to a progress bar displayed in the Script Editor status bar and a progression for applications and compiled scripts dialog box.

  • There was formerly a progress bar for when the e-mails were being downloaded. It has now disappeared. What happened to him?

    My e-mail provider does not always play nice. There has always been a progress bar in the status bar to indicate that the emails were download correctly. If I don't see the progress bar, I knew to check with the provider. Recently, the progress bar went, and I have no way of knowing whether or not the emails are downloading. They appear any kind of surprise. In addition, I used to send a message that there is no new messages availalble to download (if there is no message to download) on the status bar even. He went as well. I have so no way of knowing if I get no messages because there is no, or if I don't receive messages because the provider did something. So my question is: is this an error with Thunderbird or was there an update which resulted in a loss of function that I relied on? If it's an error, what should I do about it?

    Good to know. It has been long since this problem was asked about. I thought Ad Blocker had fixed their add on.

    You mark this as resolved if it is satisfied? Thanks for the update of the question in order to help the next user of Thunderbird.

  • When the connection progress bar

    I have a MacBook 11 "(mi-2013) I've upgraded to El Captain 10.11.5"
    Since the upgrade, I see a bar when I enter my password when connecting to progress.
    Before the upgrade, there was a progress bar when I switched to Mac.

    Why is there a progress bar now? I was under the impression that Mac is not that!

    PS. I'm new to Mac.

    Hi itAftab,

    It's not bad! Happens to me as well on my Macbook Air. Don't worry - it's just a way for you to see the progress of starting.
