PROJECTOR in El Capitan?

Anyone know how to get this thing to actually FIND something? to stay on the screen to perform research?  for the list at the bottom of the pop-up window where the file point, etc. can be recovered.  If it is an improvement while I'm amonkey uncle.  It's HORRIBLE!  Reindexing does nothing, neither nor out of different items to find in the preferences system ticking.  -I don't want a bulky iPhone: I want a tool for writing and do my job, not bloody of the candy wrappers!

Also, I find the new spot a little mind-boggling.

If you scroll to the bottom of the left column, you will have an option to display the search results in a normal finder window:

that I find to be a great help.

My projector is not recognized by El Capitan.  I have tried on 3 laptops running El Capitan and it either blocks the laptop, or it does not recognize it.  I tried to reset the SMC, and I tried now the Option key pressed to get the option detect screens in the settings.  I finally plugged the projector to an MBA Yosemite running and it works fine.  Any ideas?

I can not yet use a projector with El Capitan.  I have reset the SMC, and who did nothing.  I tried 3 cables all work with Yosemite.  Nothing.  That is what it is?

  • AppleScript for recover data from Spotlight

Here's a challenge for you all...

Projector in El Capitan can provide much more information, i.e. weather, sports scores and so on. Now, I already have an AppleScript script that allows the user to enter something, and then it will call Spotlight and stick to what they entered. I want to be able to do is read the data Spotlight returned. For example, if the user types in "weather" and Spotlight said she's currently 61 °, I want to be able to transmit the data back in the script. How this could be achieved? If there is no conventional way you know, perhaps via some GUI scripts?

    Thank you.

Yosemite... no time.  I tried 3 + 2 and saw 5 in the input area.  The following code did not the addition.  We can assume that Apple has some type of skimming preprocessor outside the soluble substance before transmitting the data to the mdfind.

How do you pass the data to highlight?

"Things that do not work. (tm) »

Well, running a unix since applescript command returns data to a variable if you code.

  • Projector shows only popular pdf

    Dear supporters!

xI recently fell on a focus problem. Since the update to El Capitan, I have problems when it comes to search PDF files. I have a lot of them, but Spotlight somehow shows me more or less the same files when I enter a search term. It is as if some PDF is identified as "hyperrelevant" and is always displayed and I Don t find the ones I really wanted. Before the update, I remember, that projector showed a higher "variance" in the results. Now, half of the list indicates the same 5 PDF files, enter any keyword.

Do you have an idea how to solve this problem? Thanks for helping!

    Hey there Jensbo!

Thank you for bringing This issue to Apple Support communities! I find spotlight to the resource the most valuable on a Mac. I can only imagine how eager are you to fill more relevant research. Although this resource contains the basics, make sure that Spotlight preferences are adjusted and configured properly:

The basics of the Mac: Spotlight helps you find what you are looking for

The ultimate resource, we will work through today, is the following:

OS X El Capitan: If your Mac to the search does not return the expected results

It will be a very good start to adjust your settings and make sure that Spotlight is pulling from the appropriate locations.

    Have a phenomenal day.

  • What is the best solution of virtual machine to run El Capitan in Mountain Lion?

Looking for the best solution run El Capitan in a mac Mountain Lion. I just need to use El Capitan to run xcode.

There are 3 main reasons that I improve my main system at El Capitan:

1 apps that I always trust that are only optimized to work up until the 10,8

    2. I want the convenience of not having to restart my computer to use 1 program.

    3. don't like projector or the interface of the user interface in general of 10.11

Knowing that, what solution recommend you so I can use El Capitan in the environment of mountain lion.

I know only vmware and parallels. Other options I'm missing? What would you recommend?

    Thank you

I would recommend "don't bother." You don't like El Capitan then why do you want what it? If you know how to partition a disk, then install El Capitan on a new disk partition.

  • El Capitan sparse disk image

Help my sparse disk image disappeared after upgrade to El Capitan, no matter who any idea how to get it back. Can't find it with the new utility disk or elsewhere for that matter! :-(

A disk sparsebundle image behaves like a hard drive, but it is simulated in a file.

Even if the new version of disk utility does not list it in the sidebar, you should be able to find it by name with the projector.

Subsequently the NAS works my finder crashed once. I think on the use of my time capsule to return to the previous week, but:

Any other solution for these problems?

Please launch the Console application in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

The title of the Console window should be all Messages. If it isn't, select

  • El capitan extremely slow on end of 2013 iMac, especially at the start (5 minutes)

    Hello

Recently, I went from an iMac end 2006 (installed 10.7.5) to a new end 2013 iMac (with el capitan) using the migration wizard.

My new iMac literally crawls at the start: before being "usable", it takes all five minutes to present the elements of office and start (I only dropbox, 1Password, Alfred littlesnitch enabled and I cleaned all the startup and user logon items old and systemic); After this the iMac works very well, even if it's not lightning fast I must say (looks like a little lag is present for each new task: opening applications, files and so on).

As soon as the iMac starts a time machine backup is started automatically.

I used etrecheck and nothing significant has shown and also one of the @linc scripts used to test the system (unfortunately, I'm not really able to fully understand the results, but perhaps that something is 'locked'...).

Console is spammed with messages, especially at startup but projector not only in regard to, mds, xpc...

I will post any other relevant information as requested, if anyone is willing to help.

    Thanks in advance

    Ciao

Without posting actual results Etrecheck and/or Linc-script, nobody will be able to guess what is happening.

  • Spotlight closes after typing a few characters (El Capitan, Mac)

I have updated to ElCapitan 10.11.3 version last week.

Projector worked fine the first few days. But now the spotlight window closes just after typing a few characters. Normally after 2,3,4 characters. I tried to index all the files again, but that he has not solved. Reset did not help either.

    Does anyone have an idea?

    Thank you very much!

You don't see the folder in the Trash because it is invisible. The next time you empty the trash, it should be deleted.

  • External screen does not work after update of El Capitan

    Hi all

I hope someone can help out me with this. I have a MBP 2011 (i7, 4 GB ram, 330 M) and since I've updated to El Capitan (now 10.11.2) my external screen no longer works. I use a HDMI Cable MiniPort who worked before the upgrade. I am trying to connect to a 720 p TV and tried to connect it to my 28 '' ASUS monitor 1080 p that I normally use for my Windows desktop. None worked. My MacBook display blinks for a while when I connect it and then nothing. I was not able to connect it to my projector via VGA USB adapter until I've found the last update on the Web site of the adapter, then at least the display has been resolved. I tried the 'View to detect' button in the preferences system, no luck.

I had the same problems. I installed El Capitan in MacBook Air early 2015. My external monitor is Dell P2314H. After installation, the MacBook Air is no longer detected the monitor, and the monitor does not save any video input to the computer.

I chatted with Apple Support, but they don't give me satisfactory answers.

Then I came across this answer on another thread of discussion the similar question:

Re: El Capitan does not detect my external display

And the solution that works for me is proving to be as simple as changing the cable. So I stopped using official mini Apple displayport to HDMI/DisplayPort/DVI connector. Instead now I use a cable (mini displayport to displayport in my Dell of MacBook Air) I bought locally (I live in Jakarta, Indonesia). It works like magic.

    I hope this helps you.

  • connect a projector to a macbook pro

I recently bought a macbook pro, the death of my old macbook. I can not get my projector to the computer via a USB connection. When I plug in the USB the USB display Installer appears. I followed the instructions but nothing happens. I spent in the display setting in system preferences and held that the option pressed toward the low key and double clicked, but once again, nothing.

I connect the projector with a different cable?

Without knowing the specific or this projector that the USB connection is used to you must go the projector support site and see if there are updated disks that support El Capitan. For some devices manufacturers are reluctant to, and some are not yet of drivers for El Capitan

  • No service after upgrade the server to 5.2 on El Capitan

I have a web server that was doing very well until I left the 5.2 update suggested to install OS X Server. I can't get to broadcast web pages. Screen sharing works always and nothing has changed on the routers, etc.

I restarted the server after the update and restarted the server itself several times but keep getting connection via a browser failures.

I did the upgrade even on other servers as well as the upgrade of Sierra. This server is running El Capitan, and is the only one that gave me problems. 5.2 server is not compatible with El Capitan?

    Some additional info:

I can connect to the server through ftp and other services; just no web service.

Port tests show that port 80 is not blocked

Using the IP address I can get to the window of the home server.

    Accessibility means no services available

Websites is on and I can't find anything that is not defined in law or is different than before the update.

  • Freezes and restarts on 2015 5K running El Capitan iMac and am ready to freak me out

    Hi guys,.

If I posted my check and reports being panic, could someone tell me what caused random freezes and restarts on my iMac 5 K - ish, El Capitan running? I am a designer/Retoucher and I am in the middle of a big job, of course.

He went on and off for a few months. I have cleared my startup disk and played fresh OS installs (didn't even use Migration Assistant just to be safe), three times. I installed apps one at a time try to refine what is the cause but could not.

At first I thought it was my mouse Logitech G502 because when I went to an old mouse for a few weeks the problem has disappeared. But yesterday, listening to iTunes via Airplay and working in InDesign, the system froze again.

I wonder if she might be SoftRAID(4) and/or my two RAIDs of 4 external ThunderBay?

    Thanks in advance!

    Steve

We can take a stab, please publish a report full of EtreCheck, and if we do not see everything that you can post your last report KP.

  • I tried to download macOS Sierra for the last hours on my Mac, but it is still holding still to download. Should I download the El Capitan instead? All sites tell me that I should update my Safari.

I tried to download macOS Sierra on my macbook pro iOS 10 for a few hours and it still has several hours to go. Should I just download the Capitan instead? All sites tell me that I should update my Safari or I wouldn't even through this disorder.

You must complete the download of Sierra. It is a very large file and will take some time, especially on a slow Internet connection.
