ProLiant DL380p Gen8 drivers

I am trying to download the network card drivers for the proliant 380p gen8 from this link:

http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/support-search.HTML?tab=1#/qryterm=DL380p&SearchType=s-002

No matter what I try, it says that the site is not available.  Please notify.  Thank you

Hello:

The problem must be on your side.

I use W8.1 Pro x 64 with IE11 on a HP 8200 Elite CMT and have not changed the default settings to access this page.

I just clicked again to make sure it works and it is.

I was looking in the VMware compatibility guide and didn't find it.

In any case, is there any Posibility to run any version of esxi vmware on this machine?

    Thank you

    Kind regards

    Matias

Yes. I can see everywhere the internet is flooded with info it works with vmware.

And like its Gen8 so I should say vmware is normally supported by him.

Here are some links that you ensure that it will work.

    http://Seiler.it/VMware-ESXi-5-5-installation-HP-ProLiant-MicroServer-gen8/

HP integrates the enterprise features the new Gen8 MicroServer

It will support up to the latest version as you can see that all custom esxi image is available for this type of material. so no question you can go forward with the same model.

I use the K4000 GPU NVIDIA card on a HP DL380p Gen8 vDGA passthru server.

Since I've upgraded to ESX 5.5U1, I get the following error message when you try to start the virtual machine:

'Impossible to save the pciPassthru0 device for 04:0.0 because of unavailable hardware or software support'

    And in th vmkernel.log:

"04:00.0 device cannot Ωtre utilisΘ for passthrough due to a region of memory in conflict with the virtual computer's memory"

Firmware BIOS of the server is the last.

Already tried to deal with the pciHole.start parameter and no go.

Tried to change the size of memory VM at different levels and still no go.

Virtual machines worked very well with 5.1U1.

    Any ideas?

Try changing the possible PCI slot.

Are there no other setting in the BIOS that apply here, the designation is different from each supplier and is located in different places so take a look in all possible places in the BIOS.

Also make 100% sure you have the latest version of the bios available at HP.

    Hello

I'm trying to install esx 6 on the dl320e machine. The software is custom iso HP (VMware-ESXi-6.0.0-2494585-HP-600.9.3.20-Jun2015.iso). The target disks are 2 ssd's in RAID1, the controller is B120i. The installation program starts normally and I can choose the table. After a few minutes the installer quit with "error: can't have partition outside the disk.

Do you have anyone encountered similar problem?

When you start the HP Media Server if you press ALT + F1 as you an user root and the password empty. Here, you can use the partedUtil to delete a partition on the logical drive or simply send the command to the disk (substituting the name of your drive) as described below previously mention it VMware KB:

    partedUtil setptbl /vmfs/devices/disks/naa.5000c50023397a33 msdos

And try again to see if it solves the problem.

I set everything on high preformance. Night GROUP again, ares yesterda GROUP setting and this night.  All spoke of "no heartbeat".

I also notice when I connect to the server in the morning, it takes like 30 sec to get connect. After the first connection takes like 5 seconds, much faster. What I'm noticing from the beginning until today. Which is perhaps related to something.

Ive had never no success with activated power management.

    Power management means GROUP...

In the bios, you must set to high performance power management, disable all States 'C' and the maximum cooling.

We have suffered before CMTF due to power management and now ALWAYS disable it.

These two cards are however in the HCL and should be good.

  • Second FT VM cannot be created problem

    Hello everyone

I am running two ESXI 6.0 U1 on both

    current configuration:

    ESXI 1:

    RAM: 48 GB

    Storage: 2 TB

    ESXI 2:

    HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8

    Intel Xeon CPU E5-2609 0 @ 2.40 GHz

    RAM: 48 GB

    Storage: 2 TB

I created a cluster, active HA and I have a 16 GB of ram virtual machine

created fixed disks fully provisioned for C: E: 500 GB f GB 135: 600 GB

If the virtual computer runs on ESXI 2 and currently uses 1.21 to

so my problem is during activation of the FT on this virtual computer it stops with a message of: No. Compatible host for the VM side of fault tolerance

and when I stopped the virtual machine and activate the FT it works but when I start the VM, it cannot start also

can someone help me to view or to debug on why newspapers Faul tolerance cannot be enabled

    and thank you

    Hello again

After several days of test, that my friend came up with a good idea that is to test each separate vmdk on the different data store with enough free space to ensure that it will allow the creation of minimum double the size of the original primary vm, vmdk after several hours to activate the FT, it worked.

the solution is to choose a data store that has a space at least the size of the vmdk.

I think FT on Version 6.0 requires double space to create the secondary vmdk and after that the creation is completed and activated FT, it will remain in the original format.

    to be confirmed...

Thanks to this article to work around this problem, or for the solution.

Secondary VM cannot start if more than 4 x 2 TB VMDK are connected

  • Only one virtual host can reach the door at the same time?

I installed ESXi 6 on a HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8 and got an operational virtual host. But it seems that no matter what I do, one host can reach the door at one point. All other grandis hosts can ping other virtual hosts and ESXi hardware, but can not get any further than that. And the same is true of outside: I can reach ESXi and a host of outside this subnet, but others are inaccessible.

I checked that each host is configured correctly and in the same way, and they have different MAC addresses and is even went up to clone a virtual machine that has access to the network, without success.

The upstream network hardware is not under my control, but they swear everything that should be the cause of this behavior. The ProLiant server has a Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5719, 1Gbps full-duplex. The guests are CentOS 7 x 64, with adapters vmxnet3 (but Intel E1000 adapters exhibit the same behavior). All hosts are on the same port group.

    Any ideas?

    Welcome to the community,

It sounds as if the physical switch port is secure port, which generally limits the number of MAC addresses that are allowed to 2. Depending on the switch model, this may be named "desktop" mode. Change mode of the configuration of the port to access (or trunk) should solve the problem.

  • VSphere/ESXi can run on different processor architecture?

We want to implement VMware infrastructure and research in the vSphere purchase Ess. 'More'. We are not implement shared storage. We will have 3 ESXi host total.

I want to save money as much as possible. I have a HP Proliant DL380p Gen8 and a DL385 G7 servers. By HP, both are compatible with ESXi 6.0. I would use these two servers and have to buy a server.

The DL380p is the DL385 AMD and Intel. If this configuration can work or this server must be Intel?

    Thank you

    Alex

We absolutely want to use vMotion. Can be used without storage shared, correct?

Yes, it is possible since the 5.1, but there are a few things to keep in mind. It's basically a combination of storage vMotion, transferring the VM disks from one storage to another and a regular vMotion device, transfer a live VM running from the memory of one host to another.

As such it is nowhere as dynamic as a normal vMotion alone, since the copy of VM disk data can take some time. There is also no support DRS.

You can read about some more here: http://wahlnetwork.com/2012/11/21/leveraging-vmwares-enhanced-shared-nothing-vmotion/

Must the CPU be the same model? For example, should all have Intel Xeon E5 2609 v2 CPU?

No, the basic requirement for transfer a live OS running, it's that both source and destination host supports the same CPU instruction sets. Exact model, clock speed Mhz cache, dimensions, etc. are not relevant as long as the CPU instruction sets are identical. So no, they do not have to be the exact same model.

In addition, you can enable Enhanced vMotion compatibility (EVC) on a cluster of servers with the same CPU provider, which allows you to establish the lowest common denominator of a generation of CPU between different hosts. For example, the Xeon E5 2609 v2 you mentioned is a generation Ivy Bridge CPU. If you add a generation Sandy Bridge Xeon you define the EVC to Sandy Bridge mode, as it is the older generation in your cluster and containing all common instructions sets that are also found in the home of Ivy Bridge of latest generation. If you add a

host with Haswell generation CPU, you would set the EVC at Ivy Bridge mode respectively.

VCA will hide the new instructions to virtual machines to ensure that they can be migrated directly to all guests.

You have to keep AMD out of your cluster host, but that's not really make a difference in your case since vMotion work never between AMD and Intel, and that you can not use VMware HA because you are devoid of shared storage. Just be aware that VM on the host AMD will never be able to migrate to other hosts without interruption of service through enhanced vMotion.

See these articles for more details on the VCA:
