Proud owner of an EM326g... what?

Yesterday (August 6) I bought a Motorola EM326g with Net10.  Unfortunately I found no reference to this on the web site of Motorola phone.  My instructions tell me to download the drivers from PC charge from the web site of Motorola, but my phone is not listed.  In fact, it is not listed anywhere.  Anyone has any info on this phone?  I made a bad purchase?  So far, I like the features... f they would work only!  Thank you...

He is listed as a motorcycle EM 326.  I have the same phone.  Now if only I could make him talk correctly on a Windows XP-based computer

How can I change the name of the device (MacBook Air) to a new owner?

You change the name of the computer in the sharing preferences, if that's what you ask the subject. If this isn't the case, then be clearer on what you need to know.

If it is a computer newly purchased but used, then wipe you the drive and reinstall the original version of OS X that comes with it. So let the new owner set it up: what to do before you sell or give away your Mac - Apple Support.

  • X 220 new owner: Trackpoint, how to make it productive?

I am the proud owner of a 220 X and an owner of first Thinkpad. Only one problem: the Trackpoint. Everything takes more time, scroll, click, point, everything! You Loyalists, gets more easy? Help me please. Y at - it a learning curve? You're actually faster with the Red Tracpoint? I mean, everybody wears a USB mouse in their case? I configured mine so the trackpad is out. The Trackpoint is set to scroll, normal mode. (Smooth roller is weird and awkward). Is precisely the Trackpoint productive once you learn not to exceed and how to hit the spots? Thank you!!!

    Yes, it's just convenient.

The technique that worked for me was to go in the mouse settings and compose all sensitivities down as low as they could go-'the pointer speed' completely low, click "enhance pointer precision," then go to the Ultranav tab, click on settings for the Trackpoint and put the slider all the way to the "closed" button

With the parameters like this will give you the most latitude to learn the trackpoint. As you learn, need you more time to move the mouse pointer it would have with the touch pad or mouse. But you'll get to keep your hands just the keys home even when you're mousing. (This is why the trackpoint seems to go hand in hand with the typing, I think.) Over time, you're going to get better and more quickly on trackpoint and you can mount the sensibilities back little by little.

Eventually, you will move the cursor more quickly than you could with a mouse or keyboard.

I have not plugged a USB mouse on my 220 X never, I think, and I prefer the Trackpoint to other forms of control mice, including large keys to multipoint touch touch.

  • You are looking for a simple auto-upload / sync solution

    Hello!

Our House is the proud owner of several Apple devices, together, we have 2 MacBooks, 2 iPhone and an iPad. Devices are distributed over more than 2 Apple ID, we want to keep it this way.

But, as we both take a lot of pictures it is always a hassle to keep track of the best of them so that we are looking for an easy solution. I searched a bit already online but seem to be asking the wrong question, in any case, I can't find what I'm looking for so I'll try here now.

What we would like to have:

-Pictures of fact on two iPhones are automatically downloaded / synchronized to one place, wherever we are.

-This place should ideally be in our House (so preferably not cloud)

-This place should also be easily accessible from a computer at home so that we can see both the photo when we want and send us some grandmother for example.

Does anyone have or know a Setup program as described? We are willing to invest and have considered purchasing a Synology appliance for our backups etc already. One of the iPhone is an iPhone 4 which is still ok, so if possible, we would like to keep for a while, the other is an SE. The two MacBook are completely up to date.

    Thanks in advance!

Maybe you should try Airport Extreme: http://www.apple.com/airport-extreme/

You can use it to share photos and documents in your home network.

  • HH5 BT + Time Capsule from Apple

Really hoping someone can help with what it drives me crazy!

First of all of background... I got broadband to Plusnet inheriting from their router "technicolor" with my TC attached via a fiber cable. Home network proceeded without the TC wire, sky + worked perfectly (wired and wireless) to transport CANADA, the Mac Mini worked perfectly (wired and wireless) of transport CANADA and the MacBook Air, iPhones and iPads everything has worked perfectly to TC. TC has saved Mac Mini and MacBook Air via Time Machine. This worked perfectly for years, since the establishment. Then...

Seduced by a lot of BT and Plusnet (rare) indifference I changed to BT infinity earlier this year and became the proud owner (?) of their "state of the art" HomeHub 5. Think about what I had to do was swap HH5 and router Technicolor more naïve in the extreme! I searched online and found many people with similar questions and have tried all of the solutions proposed, but I still can't get everything working properly. BT don't/can't help that HH5 works and TC has "nowt don't we! So where am I at?

Using only HH5, everything works perfectly. Once I introduce TC everything can work perfectly for about 15 minutes then I lose the internet connection. All being wired to the Mini, the TC "is unavailable" for Time Machine. I've tried honestly each piece of advice there re order of connections, resets, mode bridge etc but I'm so frustrated by all this. What I want to return to East TC providing the wireless network for home and backups of TM TC the Mini (cable) and Air (wireless). If I can't then I'll reluctantly settle for HH5 providing wi - fi and TC offering only backup functions.

On the Mini and Air, I'm under 10.11.6 and I updated the firmware of TC.

Can someone please help me with this? Thank you.

Think about what I had to do was swap HH5 and router Technicolor more naïve in the extreme! I searched online and found many people with similar questions and have tried all of the solutions proposed, but I still can't get everything working properly.

Unfortunately, if you have tried all the suggested solutions, as you well note... (we do not know what were these)... it is unlikely that we will be able to offer something new.

But just in case... because we do not want to ask you to repeat things you already have... could you provide a list of the things you have already tried?

Sometimes... even though the HH5. is a good modem/router and the TC is a good router so... products do not work well together. This could be the case here.

After all, when things work well and you make a change on your network, and then things don't work correctly... ask yourself ' what has changed?  I think you know the answer.

  • Why transfer doesn't work?

Hey, guys! Hoping someone here can help me. I am the proud owner of a Macbook (early 2015) of the retina, and I love it. I want to say that it was no problem, but I Can not - transfer does not work!

I logged in iCloud by using the same Apple ID on my iPhone (iPhone 6 s, iOS 9.3.3) and when I log in Messages on my Mac, I keep seeing in the left panel under 'Preferences' that my account is inactive. Whenever I try to send a message to someone, the name comes in red and I'm invited to sign it - except when I hit the sign in button, I'm actually still signed in and the account is activated! I take a glance settings iMessage on my iPhone and noticed that there is no option for transmission of Message text, so it was not possible to activate this feature.

I called Apple Support and they also found it strange that he did not work, they find more strange was that "I had all the ingredients, but it does not work" - which means, I am connected with the same ID, my number appears in the preferences of Message on my Mac, I signed with my identifier Apple to use iMessage on my iPhone... it's weird. The next day, I noticed that some aspects of the transfer procedure worked.

Every time I open Safari on my iPhone, it appears in the Dock on my Mac and vice versa. It goes the same for mail. I also noticed under "phone settings" on my iPhone, I had the opportunity to receive calls on my devices to iCloud, which listed my Macbook. I thought: 'very well! an improvement! "Later, I invited to enter a PIN code of my Mac on my iPhone and voila! Transfer text messages was there, I entered the code and then prayed. Back to the start box, Messages on my Mac refused to work. I kept getting the same problem as above. I must point out that Safari, Mail and phone were still working through transfer.

Today, I noticed nothing work - no mail, no phone and no Safari by transfer. The option to respond to calls on other iCloud devices have also disappeared.

When I contacted Apple, I was put with a counselor... but I have not heard yet return. He was also puzzled over there (but very useful). The impression I get from Apple, this is a problem at the level of the device. I'm not so convinced, I'm thinking it was to do with my account on the end of Apple (perhaps the Server/service level?). To my knowledge, Apple Support and specialist have not looked into this.

    Here is what I tried:

    1. Turning iMessage/Facetime on my iPhone on and outside.
    2. Signature on my Apple ID for iMessage and Facetime and then signing back in.
    3. Disconnection and signature in Messages and Facetime on my mac.
    4. Signing in and out of the iCloud on my iPhone and Mac.
    5. Restart both devices when they are disconnected from the internet.
    6. Tried the signature using the App password. (did not work)
    7. Off the two-step verification. (that is, one more time)
    8. Signature on all of my Apple ID account by using only my email domain iCloud.
    9. IPhone restored like new.
    10. Recovery of the Internet on Macbook.
    11. Checked my iPhone automatically sets the time zone.
    12. To ensure that the region iMessage/Facetime and iPhone/Mac were the same (United States)
      1. I must emphasize that the region of my ID Apple is set to Barbados (where I'm from) so that I can use my local iTunes/App Store purchases credit card but I don't see how or even why it would affect the transfer procedure
    13. At the request of the Senior Adviser, I called my provider wireless (flow Barbados) to understand if they support the text Message Forwarding (they didn't know what I was talking about, first, that they said no encryption, it wasn't like call forwarding, and then when I explained to them, they said they were not sure and contact Apple even once).
    14. I don't know if this has nothing to do with it, but I find my iPhone refuses to connect to my MacBook via bluetooth after mating, my MacBook would say connected and my iPhone say not connected, and finally he would be dismissed. But sometimes it does not work when I use the Handoff... weird apps. Also, I can't seem to get AirDrop works, does not detect my devices between them. Just said that I would mention this in case it helps.

Honestly, this has me has raged for a few days now and I'm really at a loss as to what I should do.

Any ideas or suggestions? Whatever that either would be appreciated.

UPDATE: transfer of telephone, Mail and Safari doesn't work again... still no luck with Messages.

I have a few updates with screenshots, hope they help.

So, I get this message when I connect using the same Apple ID on iMessage on my iPhone and iCloud/Messages on my Mac.

When I signed, what happened. I was able to sign properly.

As you can see here, my ID Apple is connected and my number is recognized. Note, it continues to tell me that iMessage inactive (red underlined).

When I try to send a message to myself (even with other known users iMessage), this is what is happening.

For some reason, the recipient turns into this red box, where is my Apple ID is the box and I am being asked to activate my account of iMessage. When I click the activate option, I see that I am connected and the ID is activated.

    This continues to baffle me.

  • Tips for Windows users who have chosen Macintosh

    Hello!

If you read this discussion, so I'm assuming that you are now the proud owner of an iMac. Congratulations for your choice and welcome in the Macintosh community! The purpose of this discussion is to create a reference guide for users who have recently acquired a Mac and learn how to do many basic tasks as we used to do in Windows, but on a Macintosh instead. I will do my best to add content to this guide based on the feedback of the community, but for now, here is a list of topics that I find very useful for the first time that Mac users.

    Q: "that Mac has a right-click?

A: right-click functionality is present on your Mac. If you use a third party with two buttons separate, then mouse right click is available in the same way that you're used to. If you opted to use the mouse Magic Mouse, you can activate "secondary click" by opening system preferences (the silver gear on your dock icon), by selecting 'Mouse' and check 'secondary click. " Now, the right side of your mouse Magic Mouse will provide right click functionality. Alternatively, you can press the control key on your keyboard while you press the button on your Magic Mouse to have access to the same functions. If you use the Magic Trackpad, you can enable secondary click in the same way you would with the Magic Mouse, but you will be rather type the Magic Trackpad with two fingers in order to access, click on functions.

Q: "is there a keyboard shortcut that works like Alt + F4 to close the Mac?"

A: there are indeed shortcut that allows you to stop your Mac from your keyboard. Press command + Eject and you will see a menu that says "restart, sleep, cancel, Shut Down. By default, 'Shut Down' is already highlighted, which means that all you have to do is press the Enter key. Just like that, you closed your Macintosh.

Q: "what is the keyboard shortcut to close an application?

A: for closing of an application you are using, press command + Q. Note that by tapping on the red circle (or red x, depending on which version of Mac OS X you are running) in the upper left corner of your application window does not close the application. By pressing the red circle only will leave the current application window, but keep the app running in the background.

Q: "is there is start menu? How can I find my installed applications? »

R: OS X, the advanced operating system that powers your Macintosh, manages the launch of applications and the user interface of Windows separately. First of all, installed applications can be read of Launchpad. To access Launchpad, you can click on the rocket icon silver on your dock (the dock is the place where a row of icons for application on the bottom of your screen). Alternatively, you can press the Launchpad shortcut key on the keyboard that came with your iMac. The shortcut key for Launchpad is F4. Second, you can use the Finder to display each application, the document or the file that is currently on your computer. Finder is the blue smiling icon on your dock, also known as the "Happy Mac" icon Open Finder, and listed on the sidebar will be the Applications folder, which will be an alphabetical list of all your applications.

Q: "How do we install an application?

R: If you use the Mac App Store to buy your software, everything you have to do is click on 'Install' once you have bought the application. If you use an application that sits on a DVD - ROM, or that you have downloaded from the Internet, then there are two methods that you will encounter. The first method is via an installation wizard, similar to Windows. Just follow the instructions given by the installation wizard, and the installer will do the rest. The second and the most common method is to mount the .dmg file (.dmg is an extension of a disk image file) by double-clicking it, and then dragging the icon of the application in your Applications folder. You can access your Applications folder in the Finder.

    Q: "how to ". uninstall applications? »

A: the process of uninstalling applications on a Macintosh computer is fairly simple and often does not require the user to face a "Uninstall Wizard. Open the Finder, blue, smiling face icon located on your dock. Select 'Applications' in the sidebar. Locate the icon of the application that you want to install, and then you click-and - drag the icon to the trash icon on your dock. Once the application of the Recycle Bin icon, you can open the trash and choose "Empty" in the upper right. Just like that, your application is removed from your Macintosh.

Q: "How do I find my Mac for files and applications.

R: OS X and its antecedent, Mac OS, introduced the innovation, fully integrated desktop search, first with Sherlock and now with the projector. To access Spotlight, you can click on the magnifying glass icon in the upper right of the bar at the top of your screen. Once you click this icon, you will need to type in a search field. Start typing the name of the folder, file, document or application you are looking for, and Spotlight will provide a list by category that matches the query expression, you typed.

Q: "How do I defragment my hard drive?

A: Unlike Windows, OS X uses the HFS + file system. By default, HFS + automatically defragments the files on your hard drive. In other words, you have nothing to do at all, that OS X is "smart" enough to handle this task on its own. Please note that there are some third-party defragmentation tools that are available online. Avoid these tools, not only because they are unnecessary, but also because they run the risk of harming your Macintosh, rather than help them.

Q: "How do I clean the registry?

R: OS X does not make use of a registry to store application settings. Applications running in OS X are, for the most part, autonomous. So there is no registry for your management.

Q: "what is the equivalent of Mac Control Panel?

R: on the Macintosh, the 'System Preferences' is the tool that allows users to manage things like wallpaper, devices, user accounts, network settings and much more. "System preferences" can be found by clicking the gear icon money on your dock, or using the dashboard to choose "System Preferences" icon or by opening Finder, select 'Applications' in the sidebar and clicking on the icon "System Preferences."

Q: "what is the equivalent of Mac of MS Paint?"

A: Macintosh is a great computer to create media rich content and Apple offers several solutions for the production of such content. However, Apple does not provide equivalent software workaround for MS Paint. There are however a number of fantastic offers from third parties that provide a comparable and in many ways, superior functionality. I recommend an app called GIMP, acronym for "GNU Image Manipulation Program". GIMP has no monetary cost and may be acquired from the GIMP project site. Alternatively, you can use the Mac App Store and download a tool such as supreme paint, which is a tool of low-cost ($4.99 at the time of this writing) which also offers features similar to MS Paint and GIMP. Here are links to each

    GIMP: https://www.gimp.org/downloads/

    Supreme paint: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/supremepaint-fully-functional/id993977111?mt=12

Q: "what is the equivalent of Mac of Windows Movie Maker"

A: every new Mac comes with the suite iLife software, including Garageband and iMovie. iMovie is a robust application that offers edition advanced functions and effects not found in Windows Movie Maker. If you are interested in a more powerful tool, Apple also offers Final Cut Pro, which offers a studio quality editing solution, with an interface that is familiar to users of iMovie.

Q: "what is equivalent to Mac from Windows Media Player?"

A: every Mac is QuickTime Player, a media player that supports a number of media formats, including AIFF, MP3, MP4, WAV, JPEG, MPEG files and many others still. If you play a DVD, you will need to use the DVD player, which is a separate application that is preinstalled on your Mac. Alternatively, you can use iTunes to watch and listen to all the same formats of files supported by QuickTime Player. You can also buy movies on the iTunes store and watch them in the iTunes application.

I highly recommend that you are reading switch Basics: on Windows, I used to... - Apple Support and also https://www.apple.com/support/macbasics/pctomac/

The use of a Mac is extremely simple, millions of PC users are passed successfully (including myself 10 + years), it takes very little time to become proficient.

Moreover, drefragging a HD is not necessary on a PC and not a Mac. It is the thought of the early 1990s and was not necessary for many years. If you start playback as the two links provided, you will find all your answers, more I HIGHLY recommend that you look at the site of Apple OS X, located at http://www.apple.com/osx/

Good luck and welcome to the light side.

  • 101 Kira - cooling performance messages fan speed

I am the proud owner of a 101 Kira may 2014, but in the course of 3-4 months, I have known problems more and more with the cooling fan on the ultrabook operating at very high speed and being very noisy, even when there is no processor intensive applications that run on the device.

I have received several messages saying that cooling perfomance of information system is available - but when I run the cooling tests tells me that is no problem?

The device itself does not seem to be running hot or give any other indication that the fan must operate at such a rate to cool down the unit

If anyone has experienced this problem with this model of ultrabook or have any tips on what I can do to stop what is happening? Is very distracting in a meeting when my laptop otherwise silent suddenly starts sounding like a rocket is ready to take off!

    Kind regards
    Graham.

You could start the the Task Manager and in the process tab, you will find all background applications that would appeal to the CPU.
Click the CPU column to display all the processes of loading the CPU.

However, you can also try to change the option of cooling method that is available in Windows Advanced Power options.
Go to control panel → power options.
Click here on the power plan that is currently in use.
Then click on advanced power options and access the cooling method.

Here you can change it from active to passive.

In addition, you can decrease the status of CPU max at 90-95%

  • Update graphics card on the Satellite X 200

    Hello members,

I m a proud owner of the Satellite X 200 with a map single chart (NV8700GT-256). But like most of these screen-no video... Black NV cards. I know, this card can be changed-it s not soldered, but it seems to be a specialized map only made by Toshiba.

Many sellers (most of them in CN) have these cards and I have googled a lot: NV8700GT with 256 MB or 512 MB. This should be fine without any problem LS - 3443P. But there are other cards sill: LS - 3442P with a chip ATI and 256 or 512 MB of ram. They are used in a note of P200. Some dealers say they are useabe in a 200 X too. The connector seems to be the same as the dimensions of the Board of directors a the place chips. Some say that ATI would be better, cooler and there is no "burn-out". I have no answer until what chip is used-i think it's a series of radeo 2600. Assessment tests provide the same speed as the NV8700GT. But none of them give a real answer - so my question is: has anyone of you experience with this card? Can I choose ATI or upgrade to an NV with 512 MB of ram. Will be my laptop boot up or should I change the bios first? These graphics problems are boring!
    Thank you, Tom

I have senn there are many questions about the maximum amount of ram... I have a DV9000 HP with the same chipset intel PM965M for office. HP says the maximum is 4G (2x2G) as toshi too. (For HP), but this true isn´t! My HP has two modules of 4G with the 2Rx8 specification; 8 tokens, 6400S / 800M, order 8 x 512. With windows vista64 oder w7-64 with no problems. I m going to test it with my toshi after solving the video problem...

  • Qosmio G20 156: clean install?

    Hello

I am new to the arena for laptop and am the proud owner of the Qosmio G20 156 fantastic.

I was wondering what people recommend doing the first thing when you receive... in what respect the sofware & operating system; Is it a good idea to perform a clean installation of Windows and the format of the HARD drive? I'm asking this is because some laptops come with a lot of junkware? If so, it's a very simple process using the recovery discs or I just would open the Pandora's box of possible complications?

I'm quite proficient with installing the drivers etc.

    Any advice much appreciated!

    Hello

Well, it s beautiful that you're proficient with installing the driver, but is not everything you need to know.
This device uses a RAID technology and you will need to also install the RAID drivers, etc.
I don t recommend to format anything or install the new OS. Toshiba programs and applications are installed on the new Qosmio because it s a laptop top of range with many features. The latest features need these applications.

But of course it s your device and you decided what and how is running on your laptop.
I have this case you can use the image of Toshiba and you can remove some programs from the laptop computer in Add and remove programs

    It is a simpler way.
