  Scan to PDF is not available when you use the built in Windows drivers. Since there is no software of full functionality for the PSC 1215 in Windows 7, you will need to find software of third parties to scan in PDF format.

  I heard good things about VueScan, but I also suggest you do a web search of your favorite for scan software PDF search engine.

  I have Vista 32-bit with SP2 and a printer all-in-one hp psc 1215.  There is no driver to download, the printer works under Vista.  I understand that I may use just mspaint or windows photo gallery to scan to the computer.  Is there a way to scan multiple pages in a doc for sending e and recording on the computer?

  The only formats I can see painting and Win Photo Gallery are bitmap, jpeg, gif, tif and png.

  The Director HP scanning option let me scan to Word on my psc 1215 all-in-in-one using Windows XP.  Wonderful.

  How can I continue to have this option now I use the same printer/scanner but Windows 8 Please?  I can scan images and xps, but not enter text into Word 2013.

  The software for this model is no longer included as a separate download.  The driver for your printer in Windows 8 has not the ability to scan OCR.

  There are several programs you can get who will perform OCR on your printer can still make analyses.

• Jobs stuck in the queue on hp psc 1215.

  After crossing solutions 1 to 10 in "impossible to print. Jobs stuck in the queue", I have now lost my printer.  Tried shutting down, unplug all the cables for laptop & printer & re connected every 12 hours later. But no sign of the laptop to find the printer.

  Copier & scanning work ok & pressing the "Cancel and color" keys on the printer, I have a very good test print.

  Open Control Panel-> audio & -> printers-> add a printer-> add a local printer *-> use an existing Port-> select the manufacturer & model-> name of the printer of Type-> Views-> Refresh.  (This shows the icon of the printer).

  N/B:-* ignored this "use this option only if do not have a USB printer" & have chosen this option.

  I came across your post about needing help to install your PSC 1215 turn it on for your Mac running 10.10. As there are has no comprehensive software features or drivers available for this printer on 10.10, you'll need to install the printer by an update from Apple.

  I had my PSC 1215 works fine until I got a new laptop with Vista. He acknowledged the printer I use OK but although he tells me scanner etc is installed and I can't bring up the HP Director Image on the screen of work, nor do the PSC appear on the list of installed programs. How can I get the Director seem so I can use the scanner?

  Looks like there is no HP Print software currently installed on the PC. Go ahead and install the latest driver from the first link, I've provided you to reinstall the software for the PSC 1215. HP recommends always reinstall drivers Support HP's official website to ensure you have the most up-to-date software for your printer.

  As OEM HP is responsible for the proper functioning of the printer/scanner and their drivers.
  Check with HP Support, their drivers and documentation online and ask in their forums.

  Good luck, you need to update or reinstall the latest driver.

• HP PSC 1512: HP PSC 1512 scans is over after the update of Firefox on Mac

  Have a HP PSC 1512, just over a year.  It has worked perfectly for printing, copying and scanning functions.   I rarely scan so ignorant, that he had ceased to work until I tried to use it today.  Nothing complex, just old school I scan a document on the desk and not wireless.  A message pop up says that the scanner is busy or not connected.  I restored once the scan feature on my old HP 1510 model with a simple reinstallation.  So I tried on the 1512, but nothing helped.  I ran a utility of cleaning, power on the printer to the top, then tried the installation disc.  A pop-up message advised that I don't have a printer connected at all or it just could not be recognized.  Then, I downloaded the driver from the HP site software but the end result was again '' series unrecognized. ''  At this time, I noticed verbiage on the page of software that says this document is for computers Apple, who uses Firefox 33 for web browsing.   Firefox has implemented many improvements and now we are up to v.45.0.1 could this be why the scan function does not work and the unrecognized device?  Print and copy features continue to work well and the HP utility reflects all the relevant details that I'm used to seeing.   Loss of scanning is not a deal breaker but y at - it software available for the latest Firefox or parameters that can be changed?  Or am I just spinning my wheels?    Thank you.

  I came across your post on digitization issues you are facing in your Mac running 10.6 and HP printer. I am unable to find the "PSC 1512" model, would you possibly the Deskjet 1512? If so, the following steps are all offered to you! Let me know if you happen to have another model.

  Troubleshoot the hardware to start and try a power reset. Also make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet.

  With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
  Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  Wait at least 15 seconds.
  Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
  If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

  Try scanning using the HP software.

  If the scanner still does not work, try the following steps in order:

  1. Reset the printing system
  2. Repair disk permissions
  3. Restart the Mac.
  4. Click on this link to download and install the full functionality of driver and software: HP Deskjet 1510 all-in-One Printer series full feature software and drivers
  5. Click on this link and try scanning using different methods of scanning: How to scan (OS X 10.6)

• PSC 2210, scanning, and Mavericks

  I am baffled by a problem with my HP PSC 2210 all-in-one device and the latest system of Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks).  I was able to print since the upgrade, but I am not able to scan. I have checked the software updates, reinstalled my printer through the system preferences/printers & drivers, but no analysis. The 2210 presents itself as a printer, but there is no available scanning function.

  I was just PM'ed by a colleague at HP who informed me that scanning from this printer is not supported by the Mavericks.  I'm sorry.

  You can try the VueScan software or a new printer.

  With Win XP the scanner control was with interface s/w HP which had the Save as PDF option.

  With Win 7 PSC 1200 auto-installé ok. Control scan is via Microsoft Scanner interface

  gives possibility to scan Documents, but save as a .jpg, and .tiff etc but no .pdf option.

  For documents, pdf files are standard. A to convert .tiff .pdf using Zamzar separately.

  How can I control the scanner using the interface of the HP software or add save as PDF to Microsoft Scanner

  You can try to download and install the software HP for Windows XP in Windows 7 via the compatibility mode.  In addition, the problem is the scanner stopped being taken in charge by HP at the level of Windows XP.  Do you have a generic "included" with Windows Vista/7 driver after that, and that's all.

  There are a lot of alternatives and even free third-party applications that you can use with your scanner and HP generic driver provided to scan directly to or convert to PDF format.  I don't have particularly in mind - but you should be able to find something that fits your needs.

  I recently upgraded to windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, I connected my PSC 2210 all-in-one via USB and it found and the driver installed correctly, I can print and copy, but I can't scan for some reason any.

  When I try, it says "turn connect computer or install the hp software" I don't have the original CD that came with it, so I can't seem to find a solution.

  I tried all forums and downloads of software available, but does not, as I can't seem to find the right software to download the HP Imaging and photo gallery.

  Help!

  I have UST sorted, simple enough, it seems that even though sometimes some buttons do not work when the upgrade of your operating system, I didn't was start it manually from windows rather than the printer itself

• HP PSC 1315 scanning painfully slow with HP 13.1 on Windows 7 Solution Center

  I just upgraded to Windows 7 Premium 32 bit XP and installed the HP Solution Center 13.1 software.  I created my preferences of scanning for documents at 200 dpi with shades of gray and when I scan a document, the scanner is extremely slow and it looks like it would if I were scanning at 1200 dpi.  He never used to do this with the older XP HP Solution Center.  Y at - it a fix for this problem.

  Well, the client replied by a PM to confirm the following information:

  Previous analyses is produced in 5-7 seconds, current scans take longer than 50 seconds in PDF format. Copies to print during the normal 5-7 seconds.

  You can acess Windows Fax and Scan and try to make an analysis of this program or MS Paint to let me know what the time is for a WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) scan?

  Get back to me after that and I'll repson with as much information and assistance I can!
