PSC1410: PSC1410 incident affecting an ink cartridge

Repetitive message "wrong cartridge installed print. I checked all the available help texts and for example door is well closed, reinstalled ink cartridges, no insured no tape cartridges, cleaned print heads, etc. None of this makes a difference - even with the two new cartridges, properly installed. If I leave the printer off for at least a week, and then after having demanded that the alignment of the cartridges - who apparently works - I am able to print a single document, before you get the error again.

Thank you for your help - I arrived at the end of the process of yesterday and installed a new black ink cartridge. Now I am able to print once again without any problem

It happened for a while now.  I continue to click Black only and it prints, as everthing I was need to print is strictly black.  However, now I am trying to print photos and I need color. I need to erase this message... but have no idea how.  The computer shows the levels correct as being complete... but still, I get this message ink and only on this computer.  On the macbook, it is not pop up and prints fine.

Someone knows how to fix this?

I have a HP all in one Photosmart C7280 running on Windows 7.

    Thank you.

    Hi gvchick03,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see you amirouche get a print in black ink only error or to replace the Cyan and Magenta cartridges, but the ink cartridges are filled according to the ink levels. Have you ever set printing preferences to use black ink only or print in grayscale? Even if you select only one scale or gray black it still requires all the colors and all ink cartridges pull.

Please take a look here and make sure that the preference is not affected in black ink only or grayscale. Refer to step 1:

Impressions of color in black and white images

Now, I would like that you remove all the cartridges and do a hard reset on your HP Photosmart C7280, see here: reset of the printer

Once the printer is full initialized, please replace each cartridge one by one. Now, check the ink levels are they accuse even more complete? Try printing a test page, you still see the error message come?

Now go ahead and run HP print and Scan Doctor- it has been designed to provide users with HP and features troubleshooting fix needed to solve many common problems experienced with HP print and scan the products related to Windows computers.

  • without the Photosmart 5510 ink cartridges Control Panel cannot be accessed

I have a Photosmart 5510 which has no ink cartridge. My intention is to use it to scan only, and I would like to be able to set up wireless. When I turn on the printer, the control panel displays this: "problem of ink cartridges.  One or more cartridges appear to be missing or damaged. Install or replace the affected cartridges. »

The wireless button or the ePrint button cause anything to appear on the control panel and there is no other options, such as cancel or continue.

Is there a way to go beyond this message of ink cartridges without installing cartridges?

    Hello

In general, I'm afraid the answer is no, as a multifunction device, it requires the ink required to operate the device but there are of the workarounds you can try.

That there is a problem with one or more of the ink cartridges should be sorted first, the control panel will not answer while the device is in an error state.

You try to use the computer temporarily plugging in a USB port on the printer.

If the printer is recognized by the PC in such a State, let it finish its configuration and open the software HP Photosmart 5510.

Open the utilities tab and click on Setup & software printer, then click on convert USB to wireless and follow the steps on your PC.

If this success then run a scan of your PC use.

If it is not detected, which is likely to be affected by the error status of the device, such you will solve the problem first.

You can follow these steps to solve a problem of cartridge if necessary:

  • Pre sale question: Officejet Pro X476dw - ink cartridges

    Hello

I have a couple of pre sale question on the Officejet Pro X476dw - I hope you can help me with.

I live in Denmark (EU) and in the book loads, it says that it comes with startup ink cartridges (translated from Danish). What these specifications of starter ink contains less ink than normal cartridges don't - if so - no idea how many pages they can produce before they empty?

As to the number of products: it says CN461A - but to some websites, it is called CN461A #A80 - is this the same printer? And what does the #A80?

The ink cartridges have an expiration date. What happens after that date: the printer will require new cartridges before it will print anything if it can damage the printer to use ink after the expiry date - or what the print quality is affected?

Q: it comes with startup ink (translated from Danish). These start ink specifications contains less ink than normal cartridges only

A: Yes.  It's half in full by a quarter from a new normal cartridge.  Pagecounts are all depends on a lot and what you print.

Q: it says CN461A - but to some websites, it is called CN461A #A80

A: the extra #A80 is probably a regional identifier.  Its basically the same printer but built with some regulation is necessary for your region as energy consumption.

Q: the ink cartridges have an expiration date. What happens after that date

A: the ink are deteriorating and are more likely to plug in your print heads and contacts.

Q: the printer will require new cartridges before it will print anything

A: not necessarily, but it is advisable to listen to your printers of warning messages

Q: can the printer to be used after the expiry date of the ink

R: damage, maybe not the best term.  It would cause clogs in the ink system that will require additional support.  When the hooves can not be erased then the printer may need to be replaced.

Q: or what the quality of the print is affected?

R: technically Yes, but the quality will be not noticeable in most cases with an outdated cartridge.  The ink won't be able to apply paper and take a nice full round, resulting in a glance more stained on a microsopic level.  Your concern should be on the maintenance of the equipment.

  • How can I make my ink cartridges last longer?

We have a Photosmart Premium printer.  We do not a lot of printing, less than once a week.  In a very short period of time, although we've printed little, the cartridge reports as dry.

What can we do to extend the life of a cartridge?  More moisture in the House?  Remove whenever we fill a print job and wrap them tightly?  We have a machine which empty things, really empty, not just suck some air.  That would help?

Also, should I expect if I specify black and white, or print project, if only the color cartridge is dry to the printer?

    Thank you

    Peggy

@ PeggyJane - to add to what banhien provided, to answer your last question about the color of inks and settings; It depends on the printer. Some printers take individual ink cartridges, which means a cartridge cyan, magenta and yellow. These printers print when one of the cartridges may work to dry that can damage the printhead to the inside of the printer. There are other printers that take a black and then a tricolor cartridge where yellow, cyan and magenta all come in a cartridge and print head is integrated in the 2 cartridges that you buy for this ink delivery system. Some of these printers have the ability to print reserve mode. This is where you can remove the empty cartridge and continue printing. It is noted also that the ink is used in the printer by other means beyond just printing. The printer will also ink for maintenance purposes. Here a link to another document which explains the use of ink and the release of other factors that can affect a printer. I hope this helps.

  • HP ENVY 4500: Ink cartridges HP Instant

I just bought a map of the HP Instank ink. I'm about to use the first black cartridge, but I still have another cartridge new color I need to use. I start support fully if I use only one cartridge?

    Hey @EMJ-00.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have some questions about the instant the ink program. I can help you with that.

When you print, the system determines if an instant ink page is printed according to it there a moment cartridge in the printer. If you insert the black cartridge, your only color pages into account. My suggestion is to insert two instant ink cartridges and save the color cartridge for emergencies.

Please let me know if that solves your problems. If so, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • Black ink cartridge will not print

Putting in a new black ink cartridge the printer says it's there and full of new ink but when printing it don't use it. It happened the last time that I put in the black cartridge and I managed to do it finally work but don't remember what I did. Why is this happening?

With printing black ink is not like that, there are only a few things you can try, and it looks like you did most of them. If the steps described in the following paper the link did not help, then you might make a physical print head cleaning. Bob_Headrick gave the steps to do this in the post below. If none of this does not work, you can either replace the printhead by contacting the support of HP, or you will need to replace the printer. If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

  • Problem - has ink cartridge but no printing appears on the paper

I have a printer of HP Deskjet 4200 all-in-one with a relatively new ink cartridge.  The printer prints white - nothing appears on my paper.  The last time I used the printer (with the same cartridges) was four months ago, and he was fine.  To my knowledge, nothing has changed (parameters, etc.).  I can't figure out how to get the printer to print anything.  I could go out and buy new cartridges, but ones I have is barely used, although only around the age of 6 months.  And the problem seems to be both color and black print (printer has two cartridges) - so I made me think that it would not be a cartridge problem.  Any suggestions on what I might try?  Thank you.

It is possible that the print heads have become clogged due to sitting for so long unused.  Try to run the three cycles of cleaning of the Toolbox.  If it does not recover the printhead, then place 1 "of very hot water in a cup and watch the nozzles of cartridge in hot water for about five minutes.  When it comes gently dry the printhead on a wet cloth dry contacts of the cartridge, then reinstall the cartridges in the printer, and try another cleaning cycle.

The printer will not print anything (including black and white which is my default setting), at least that I have installed a new yellow ink cartridge.  He says that the cartridge is exhausted and must be replaced before printing.    I have black and white printing color cartridges? Is there a solution? Thank you very much.

    DavidDavid salvation,

Yes, you will need to replace the yellow cartridge to continue printing. Here's a good explanation of the design of the print mechanism, and what is needed to keep them in good working condition. Your printer is user replaceable print head. With this printer's ink lines that need to be filled in ink in this way that the print head should not be clogged jets in turn cause poor print quality problems.

HP, as other printer manufacturers, offers you with permanent print heads printers requiring ink for all colors, avoid the print heads.  HP, like some other manufacturers, also offers printers with user replaceable print heads.  These may of may not require ink in all colors in print, even though damage may occur if the print from the cartridge empty.  Finally, HP as some other manufacturers also offers printers with the printhead into the ink supply.  He is replaced at each change of cartridge.  These printers will happily print with a diet low, empty or many deleted completely same models.

When you buy your next printer (from HP or from another manufacturer) be sure that you understand what is the type of printer and choose one that fits your needs.

  • 7520 new stuck in the installation phase. Print head move load ink cartridges

I'm stuck in the new phase of printer configuration. After running through the commissioning of questions and I opened the cover to charge the ink cartridges and the print head did not move. I ran across several reset process... Unplug the printer. Wait 60 seconds and plug it in again. Browse the configuration... Unplug the printer... more.

This printer does not seem to be any cartriages.

    Hey JohnTT,

Sometimes, these printers come with packaging that holds the printhead completely to the right at the gas station.  This avoids damage to the product during shipping.  You see all plastic parts orange that it may contain in place or Blue Ribbon?

So, have you tried the carriage to the right hand?  Can it be moved or is it blocked?

If the printer still will not release the print carriage after the power cycles and move it by hand, then I suggest you return the product and return to the retailer of purchase or by calling the HP Technical Support to see about a replacement.  The phone number for the USA / Canada residents is 1-800-474-6836.  If you are not in this region, click here.

    I hope this helps.

No error messages but trying to align or check colors - black doesn't print at all

No change - knew ink was low so I tried to install a new black ink cartridge - then one day later tried an another new black ink cartridge

I tried all the techniques of "Troubleshooting" listed on the page Web - align, clean the print heads, install the new cartridges, looking for trouble with the vents, etc.  I have only used HP ink cartridges.

    Hi abruce,.

Usually, it is a result of dried/clogged ink nozzles in the printer or the print head.

According to some other users on the forums, you can remove the print head (use this guide if you are unsure how: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01944580)

Make sure the cartridges are removed from the print head

Dive head in hot water, nozzles downwards. (about 1 in. of water) and leave any residue of ink to flow. This process should take about 15 minutes. Ensure that the print head is completely dried out and there is no moisture in the electrical contacts or the rest of the part.

    I hope this helps!
