  Thanks Anubha Goel, final I got it to work... The serial number in the physical box that you buy in the store wasn't the number for the software.  It was the serial number in the cloud, very difficult to know when you see a serial number in the box with the Cd online.  But thanks for the reply to my post. Since I got someone to help who realized that I went to the wrong place to download - I was downloading a trial copy who would not accept the serial number - sent me a link that took me to my customer account - he started https://licensing2.adobe.com - when I downloaded from there, it was fine.

• This morning update of Firefox has been downloaded but does not restart the laptop. He's trying to start and the lights on the keyboard. He continually tries to restart. The screen is blank. It was working fine until I clicked on restart.
