  It will restart your computer so back up your data before doing the below

  As usual it's always a good idea to create a restore point & or back up your data.

  My Satellite A200 - 1 GB is very slow to start, so I went to msconfig and disabled some of the 'not required' in the list but still most of them not knowing the significance of each.

  Check the site of laptop manufacturers with regard to the specifications of the machine you.  Look at what graphic chipset provider is.   I have a very irritating problem when I (try) to open Captivate 5. At the present time, it takes more than 10 minutes before you see the screen of welcome and again a few minutes before I can open or start a project. 1 out of 3 times he opens not at all.   It seems to me that you need to store your Captivate projects on a network somewhere and not on your local drive of the PC. Is this correct?

• Portege M400-103 starts very slowly

  My new M400-103 seems slow. I have another unit & even though it was a solo processor it still compares favourably in speed for example starting up my new machine.
  I saw that part of the problem may lie with all programs util that Toshiba load in standard at the start, but surely with the mobile dual-core processor is still faster.

  I put the power to FULL POWER management, etc., but does not have a big difference. I see some comments posted to talk about withdrawal of Toshiba OS & re-installign Windows XP, but I'd rather not do & rather settle the existing operating system if possible.

  Has anyone else had a similar experience. The touchpad on the M400 seems also more finicky about others using touch, maybe that I still need to get used to it?

  As you have already mentioned with computers laptop Toshiba uses a lot of specific applications to control all the features on the phone.
  If you want to use all the features of the laptop if you need applications. It's done.

  To my knowledge the Portege supports a large number of new generation, applications such as the Toshiba tablet software utility of rotation protect suite, protection of HARD disk and so on

  Of course if you do not use this feature, you can remove it. I think then the laptop would boot much faster.
  In addition, on many laptops the Norton Anti virus is activated and this utility slows down the startup procedure. This problem appears also on my laptop. The anti-virus application loading take about 45 sec.

  OK, you laptop uses a Dual Core CPU, but this is not really a reason to start much faster.

  PS: Do you know an application called bootvis or something like that? This application monitors the initialization procedure and is able to make it faster.

• My Portege M200 starts very slowly

  A week ago, my computer decided to go slow on me, it took five minutes to load upwards from when I walk, I thought that I could easily solve this problem using windows restore and go before that this was the case. (it happened after I defragmented my hard drive which was strange)

  Restore did not work and now some of the programs do not work as tablet pc Input Panel.
  Some drivers have gone haywire, my external floppy drive and CD - RW will not work now, (the cd is an ide to usb in an external case)

  Well, if you want to retrieve the device you so you need a supported and compatible Toshiba external drive. Not all external drives are supported and work correctly.
  The Portege M200 supports the recovery through the BIOS (by pressing 'C') with the USB 2.0 card and PCMCIA (16-bit and Cardbus).
  As far as I know the discs, you can use:
  Toshiba PA3352E-SCD2, CD-RW/DVD-Rom USB 2.0 drive
  Toshiba PA3402E-1DV2, Rev.501, USB 2.0 DVD Super Multi Drive,
  Toshiba PX1055E-1NST (16-bit) PC Card Reader, cable II, PCMCIA

  Well, if you have n t not one so you can contact Toshiba. It should be possible to install the OS.

  Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  You may need to activate the quick start upward with 10 Windows.  Your laptop may not be happy with the new operating system to 100%, so you may need to make some adjustments.

  Quick start - turn on or off in Windows 10

  Another thing to try is the Windows Update 10 troubleshooting tool.

  Windows Update Troubleshooter

  If that fails to solve the problem, you can restore the earlier version of the operating system until the new updates will be available from Microsoft and make sure there is a complete list of drivers for Windows 10 for your system.

  I have a Toshiba Equium L10 (496 MB RAM, 1.5 Ghz celeron M Processor, 37.2 GB HARD drive)

  He did run very slowly for a while now and am really get annoyed with it. It takes like 8 minis for the Office to load more than a few minutes more for programs to load up. I'm pretty ok with computers and things like registry editing to a certain extent etc.

  Please could you help me because I can't afford to upgrade my laptop at the moment?

  I tried to uninstall as many unwanted programs on the computer and find myself with a 23.7 GB free on the hard drive.

  To be honest I n don't know what you want at the moment.
  You want to upgrade your laptop or you want to make Windows faster?

  I put t know what programs you have installed, but after you remove all the programs you need t n you should clean your system using CCleaner.
  Also disable any startup programs you start n t need in msconfig and start menu folder. Don t forget to defragment your HARD drive.
  In the worst cases, you need to reinstall Windows. Not all Windows problems can be solved without complete new installation.

  Last but not least the Equium L10 can be upgraded to 1 GB of RAM. This can also help you to make Windows faster.
