My HP OfficeJet Pro 8625 newly purchased printer was printing fine until I downloaded an update online. Now when I try to print I get the "Send Fax - HP OfficeJet Pro 8620" window. • LaserJet Pro M177 MFP: HP LaserJet MFP M177fw Pro no widget Scan on the printer

My newly purchased printer HP LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw don't have a widget to Scan on the printer screen. So, I can't scan and send it to email directly, without having to turn on a computer.

Can you please help me, thanks.

    Hi @Herza,

I see by your post that you would like to know how to scan from the control panel of the printer to send. I would like to help you today. Please select "Acceptable Solution", if these measures help to solve this problem. Thank you.

This model is not the function of scan from the control panel. You must use the HP scanner on a computer to scan software.

This document provides the steps for scanning on Windows 7. HP LaserJet multifunction printers - how to scan (Windows 7). You can use the HP scanning software to scan a document and then send it to the email.

But you can install an APP on the printer itself called "Scan to Email".

Once you register with www.hpconnect.com, you can add the APP.

Click on add a device under the devices tab.

Put in the claim code you printed to register and add the printer.

Click the Services tab, then click on the sign - on the right side.

Select your printer from the drop-down list.

Then scroll to the application called "Scan to Email".

Click on add to my printable cards.

Now you should have an icon on the screen of the printer under APPS, called "Scan to Email".

I hope this helps. If you appreciate my efforts, please click on the "Thumbs up" button below. Thank you.

  • Printer Officejet4630: fax Autoreceive

Recently purchased printer officejet 4630, implemented in accordance with the instructions, may send and receive faxes, BUT autoreceive works not well put!

In the Fax menu go to settings and check 'Auto response' is defined as on.

Go to "Advanced settings" in the fax settings, select the ring settings and make sure "Distinctive ring" is defined as all the rings, then check to see if the fax receive incoming faxes.

If the same persist also make sure that the phone cable is connected to port 1LINE and not 2EXT fax port.

If there is still no difference try to reduce the rings to answer to the lowest value (2) option, to ensure there is no conflict with other telephone equipment or services (such as voice mail).

Rings before answer lie under Fax > settings > tone settings > rings before answer.

Please let me know if any of the above steps may help.

  • Officejet4630: Newly purchased - when and where can I select paper size

I just bought this printer and I am in the middle of the whole upward and don't know how far I can progress, cartridges are installed here my problem, I am currently in France, my IP address shows that, but I chose English my language UK or US, some U.S., the question is should I I selected UK - the printer will fix automatically by his IP address for paper A4 or because I selected American English will be Expected 8 1/2 x 11 for overall upward? I've been using 8 1/2 x 11 that I brought an American purchased printer with me, but he stopped working last week and had to be replaced, and the other bought at office Depot. I need to know before you load the paper tray, and there is NO phone number or even a live chat to contact.

Hello @SHCand welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you have problems paper selection.  I will try to help!

I recommend you to perform a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

    I also suggest this document:

Printer is configured to use the wrong paper size

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • HP Envy 5530: HP Envy 5530 truncates (chops) image of Snip and Snipping Tool Windows 10, Word 2007

Hello. My HP Envy 5530 newly purchased printer truncates images captured from Snip, Snipping Tool and screen printing. Image appears perfectly when placed in MS Word, PowerPoint, MS-Paint, etc., however, when printing on the 5530 want appears the image enlarged, as well as 30% or more of the image gets truncated or cut off.  I have tried other "resolutions" posted, but they do not work. I wasn't able to find a driver for the HP 9800, as suggested in another post (HP says it is not available). Everything worked before installing this HP 5530 (I used Lexmark printer). I am on Windows (to date) 10 MS Office 2007 and reinstalled Snip & Snipping Tool. I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP 5530 and I ran the Scan Doctor utility that will return no error found. Does anyone have a similar problem and especially a solution?

With no idea what you have tried (other "resolutions"), I offer the following to your attention:

    • Ensure your PDF viewer / reader software is on the latest version available for your operating system.  This is not negligible.  Create a Restore Point before the update / modify the software system yiour.
    • Never use copy - paste when you add images to your document (Word) > use Insert
    • Control image format when you change the size of the inserted picture
    • Consider "line spacing" when you insert a picture into the document using "tight" / options "Wrap Text".
    • Keep the image within the borders of the minimum margin - if all else fails, change the margins in "Close" to give more images of space
    • Consider that Office Word 2007 cannot respond to Windows 10 as expected
    • Make sure that you allow updates include patches Office 2007 available (assuming these are available)

This newly purchased printer. which is supposed to come with ROC to enable analysis of editable text (Word), is not that.  Online and CD resources are proved to be unnecessary.  How can I activate the editable text (Word) scan?

The software provided for your device does not include OCR functionality
You can find referred to in the specifications of analysis below:

Scan to text: Integrated OCR software automatically converts scanned text to editable text
note: Integrated OCR software is available only with Officejet 5740 and 8040 models.

In the commercial specifications below for the series, who also applies to the 7645 thus:

Scan file format: pdf, bmp, jpg, gif, tif, tif, png

You can use a solution of OCR 3rd party to analyze as editable text.

Recently received new router from Verizon (FIOS), model FQG1100 BHR4 router

    Purchase printer in 2012.

Printer has worked with the old router; It will not communicate with the new router.

For four days I deleted the printer from the laptop several times and tried to reinstall using the wifi. Installation instructions say to run the CD, select wifi, connect the USB cable when prompted, configure, remove the cable when prompted.

When I attach the USB cable, Setup starts, but it expires ("taking too long") or fails with the vague message about not finding the product. I'm never invited to an SSID.

Failure of network name (SSID found).

DO NOT RUN for: printer settings consistent with the settings of the wireless router, no filtering, connected, the signal strength, other networks detected.

    Wireless netwrorks detected: 9

I note the router label does not say "SSID", but said "ESSID".

I have ideas for what to try.

Please post here or send message to [personal information deleted]

Last night I finally got to work.  I removed the printer entirely from the PC and rebooted. I turned off the printer. I ran a cable to the router (cable modem). I have reset the router, which then assigned an IP address to the printer. I changed the security settings on the router to use WEP instead of WPA. I ran the HP printer, Setup - and he finally presented me with the screen to "provide the SSID.  The program is run properly. I printed a test page. I changed the router security to WPA2. I printed a test page.     I tried to restart it and reprinted.  I also tried to remove the cable and then print again - printing failed.

In short, I needed to do two things: connect a cable and change the router temporarily WEP for installation.

In my case, my printer is close enough to the router with the cable.  A bit disappointing that the true wireless will not work, but I can print wireless from my laptop.

I saw how many people have had the same problem, I had, and how much of HP is of any help to solve this problem.  I am convinced that the printer has a defect.  I hope that my posts will be useful to a few people having the same problem.
