Purge old definitions of employment

I have a problem in our development environment.  There are literally 4 x the number of definitions due to some copy and pasting of the working groups all over with hundreds of jobs in their.  I have now tons and tons of duplicates that are not active definitions.  Along the lines of like 40 k definitions developing for 10 k production I jobs care really all.

I meet some performance issues and support is telling me that even inactive tasks have an important impact on performance.  Point of saying "well with the 40 k definitions, you are a great implementation and need more hearts, RAM, etc." by the SP2 performance tuning guide.  We are running 6.2.1.315

In this logic, it seems that it would be more prudent to permanently purge definitions the 30 k that I don't need.  Does anyone has experiences in this sense?

Jobs are already inactive, and I really I'm looking to do is purge them completely so that I'm back to a number of definitions (active and inactive handsets) that my hardware is scaled for already.  I am struggling already with the assertion that inactive jobs give me as much a performance hit as active jobs regarding the definition of the size of the implementation.

Thank you!

There is a new feature in the works that will allow to import and export the job definitions in XML files.

Once they release that you will be able to export jobs unwanted for what is effectively a offline store and remove them from your active instances. Unlike now, you will have a useful recovery method if you still want to restore these defs job.

Except that on the best thing to think about is that you capture instant database to keep a record of what's there and start pruning what whether you don't want or need. A copy of everything that you might want to keep your instance of Prod to DEV/UAT before starting to drop transportation stuff.

Then, once you have identified Production repeat the exercise on DEV/UAT.

I also recommend that you perhaps to reduce the retention for task time run story at least you can stand.

See you soon

  • Purge old events of databases "historical".

    Hello

We look at some events in our historical databases see purge.  We've got floating pools that refresh on logoff user for the databases become big enough (> 30 GB).  I saw KB 1025914, but which refers the vCenter tasks and events.  Does anyone have experience with databases event_data_historical (and event_historical)?

    Thank you

    Troy

I am posting this because I hade the same question. My database of the event proved to be HUGE. Since we decided that we didn't need the old data, I decided to find a way to purge some data.

The sql query, I used is gross, but it worked. I'm not anything close to a person of sql query.

delete from [View-Event].[dbo].[v_event_data_historical] where EventID in (select EventID from [View-Event].[dbo].[v_event_historical] where Time < DATEADD(day,-30,getdate()))
    delete from [View-Event].[dbo].[v_event_historical] where Time < DATEADD(day,-30,getdate())

Our database is called event so our table prefixes are v_ and you will need to change your settings.

    the

    Time < DATEADD(day,-30,getdate()

is what I use to get specify anything older then 30 days. You want to change it to match your desires of retention.

I created a sql job to run this monthly to keep my size of database failure.

I'm sure there are better ways to do it, but it's the best I could come up with in the 20 minutes of time I had to work on it.

  • With the Tweak now I choose Compact database of Mozilla Firefox's files, now I can't open tabs, images etc. on Web sites. I can't get the old definition of back, not even to bring the system back to another date or install new Firefox. What should do? Tha

That's what I think, it happened because I'm still able to do these things in Internet Explorer.
For example to open a Web site, I see not all images, can not use all of the tabs.
I also deleted the hidden extra. (I use Windows XP). I tried to restore the things in twist now.
So, how can I make more space in the Mozilla database files.
Please keep your simple answer, I'm not so smart that...

Not a good idea to use external programs like this to mess with files of Firefox, these programs somehow managed to break more that they never have trouble. Done Windows sound system restore ' fair share of Firefox messing around, too. And reinstall Firefox does not correct a b0rked profile, unless you remove when you uninstall Firefox.

  • I want to save an IMAP via POP3 account in Thunderbird, but it will not download old emails that are still on the server. How can I do this?

I start using Thunderbird to save and purge old e-mails from an account via POP3. This account is accessible by other users using IMAP on their computers and mobile phones.

I want to archive and purge old messages from the server using Thunderbird. But it will not download messages that apparently are marked as read on the server via IMAP.

POP mail accounts must be configured to "leave messages on server".
    Check this box before use.

    • Tools > account settings > server for the e-mail account settings

    or

    • menu icon > Options > account settings > server for the e-mail account settings

Select: 'leave messages on the server.

Optional: select: "during the more than xx days" this will remove something more that select the specified number of days "until I have delete" when you delete an email it will be deleted from the server.

Click Ok to save the settings.

POP mail accounts are only looking at the Inbox and download everything that has not been previously downloaded regardless of whether it has been read or not. They cannot access or download from any other folder on the server.

If you want to download the e-mail messages in other directories, you must move the emails in the Inbox to upload and it's may not be practical in your situation.

What you can do is to synchronize your IMAP folders to a copy downloaded to your IMAP e-mail account.
Then switch mode 'offline' to stop any additional synchronization synchronized files update.
MozBackup tool could now be used to save the profile synchronization created mbox files that contain emails.

You can also do the following to get a copy outside the IMAP e-mail account:
Create the same folders in the "local folders".
Then right click on the email and "copy to" and select local folders and the folder you need.
Put a copy in the local files means these e-mails are also on your computer and they are not influenced by what you do in the IMAP folder.
You need backup emails in these folders.

  • Same question "how to limit the story" old with FF 27.0.1

Windows 7 Pro, FF 27.0.1, Adobe and Flash modules (and it's auxiliary)... just the basics. My box is a server as well as used for most ordinary tasks... mail, browsers, editors of documents, etc., is always 'on' and never 'idle '. It's the Add-ons that make these things why don't do anything on my box.

It is, I know, is an old question, but outstanding, in my opinion. I revive this post:
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/799503?FPA=1

First of all, let me say that I consider that the best time of the Firefox browser. I love the essential philosophy of Mozilla and Firefox customization by the user and the control, while respecting their need to ensure security and stability.

OK, the issue is evident in the title, how can I limit history with Firefox? More recently, I observed when the activation and the deactivation of JavaScript in the preferences options has been removed. I have read the reasons of Bugzilla and Firefox and it was not difficult for me to open a topic: config tab next to a label containing a page I was working so I could see how the page without JavaScript. Once you know how, it was only a little more difficult that using the preferences options... which doesn't bother me really.

The history limit is implicit in the browser itself, where, if you open the history window, you can see your history and (for me) see an option 'longer than six months' who, if you mouse over and right click will get an option 'remove '. I think that everyone who tries this blocking their browser and if something is deleted when you finally get to the top, it will be your cache.

I know that the amount of history is set: config in the "places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages" as an integer parameter. Read many articles here in 'support' and personal judgment, I find that although the number can be increased, it cannot be decreased. If we do, it is up to the old definition as soon as Firefox is reopened.

I read the blog referenced in the first link above: http://blog.bonardo.net/2010/01/20/places-got-async-expiration and it even seems outdated, containing references to places.history.expiration.max_pages, which is not the file in topic: config in 27.0.1

In https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=643254 , I read the debate on these changes where Marco Bonardo held firmly at his post while I find the comment of al_9x, discuss the issue with him. "You have removed features that people use and love, that been in Fx since its inception. It is you who need to justify deletion. "And your justification of" nobody really wants expire history "is a lie, people do and I explained why", to represent my feelings completely. I have no need or desire for the history of more than 3 months. It is tyrannical to limit the ability of Firefox users to limit their history. And no.... I have not create yet another account of Mozilla and 'vote '.

There must be a way I and other users can limit (or increase) their history. So I ask "how?" This is, by design, to do this then I find a very disturbing trend, away from the philosophy of the user control and customization.

If I'm missing something, please let know me. Please * don't * send me a bunch of standard items 'aid', because I read all. That is my question.

    Kind regards
    Axis

You must create a new pref to around places.history.expiration.max_pages if you want to change the default behavior.

You can watch the extension that I posted at the bottom of my answer above.

  • Is there a way to keep iCal all events no matter how old they are?

It seems that iCal keeps only the events for a year.  I don't want them removed unless I do it myself.  If this is not possible, I would like a calendar app that did this and has an iPhone and Apple Watch app and synchronize via iCloud.  If anyone as any suggestions about this, I'd love to hear it.  I really like iCal, however.  That's what I've always used.  Thank you!

For many years, I used an iCloud calendar on my Mac, the iPhone and the iPad.  I always update Apple software the day updates are published.

Your post brought me to review my calendar on the Mac.  I found (surprise) an event in August, 2010 that I forgot to delete.  This event does not appear on my iPhone or iPad, because in both cases I have settings > Mail, Contacts, calendar > events Sync game to a few weeks.

This Mac calendar program (iCal has not existed for several years) does not in itself the purge old events.

  • Purge of the records of the Table and the size of the data file

    11.2.0.4/Oracle Linux 6.4

We want to reduce the size of the DB (file size of data), so that our RMAN backup size will be reduced. So, let's create stored procedures that will purge old data in huge tables.

After you remove records, we will decrease the tables using the:

    change the movement line of table ITEM_MASTER enable;

    change the waterfall table retractable ITEM_MASTER space;

    ALTER table ITEM_MASTER deallocate unused;

The commands above will reduce the file size of data (see dba_Data_files.bytes) or it will reduce the size of the segment?

Only the segment formats will be reduced.  Oracle has never reduced the sizes of data file automatically.  You would have to reduce them.  You may not be able to reduce the size of data file if there are extensions to the 'end' (highwatermark) data files.  In this case, you will need to create a new tablespace and move all the objects for the new tablespace OR export, drop, create tablespace and import.

  • Purge perfstat tables

    Hi all

My tablespace perfstat is already 99% full. Can I purge old data table associated with it?

    Thank you

    pK

As mentioned by others, $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/sppurge.sql will allow you to delete data in the tables.  Make sure you read the script to see what he does and what to call it - it has an option which is by default not to remove old SQL information.

Alert - Check the size of your story and serve only a small amount of data at once. the process uses foreign keys 'on delete cascade', can be very slow and can generate a large number of undo and redo.

This release, however, the space of the storage space.  If you dump enough story SQL execution by statspack should re-user the empty space created in perfstat's tables; But if you think that's not good, enough you will begin to move tables and index rebuild to generate a free space in the tablespace.  (If you delete a very large amount of history you can do that anyway to allow snapshots and reports to run more efficiently).

  • Definition of work SAFETY and testing

I defined a working definition of the ESS in Jdeveloper using Using Oracle JDeveloper to build an Application of Oracle - 11 g Release 1 (11.1.1.6.1) Business Planner and other supporting documents.

Attached in access control and already available in the jazn file roles.

I changed the resource group, and then added the details for the new Definition. But unable to choose work the same in the resource key for the Display & Description resource key name.

I create the Ear file and deployed in integrated weblogic server. But I am unable to see the new job the in the list of processes on demand.

Any help will be much appreciated...

    Thank you

Can you describe the problem you are having; This is the question that your resource group is not visible in "select text Resource" user interface in the 'Key resource display name' field in the 'Location' of the definition of employment section?

If yes have you added your package of resources to your project "Application-> project properties-> Resource-> Bundle research Bundle-> Bundle List"? If the beam is visible, but you cannot select a value can you confirm which JDeveloper role that you use and what are the exact steps to reproduce.

If the problem is related to the creation of a group of resources refer to internationalization and localization of Pages for more information, if not please elaborate on the issue...

  • Old data refresh - problem of mapping - OWB has not been removed.

We use OWB 11.1.0.7 on Windows 2003. I created the dimensions and cubes and they are all worked well. The problem is when I tried to update the warehouse using new data, new data have been loaded into the dimension, but some old data were still there.

In the map, I used a materialized view to map to the dimension. I checked the old data was not in the materialized view, but was still in the dimension. The steps I took were:

    -mv re-imported to OWB,
-synchronized to the source and the target in the mapping.
-related table redeployed + dimension and mapping,
    -run the process flow.

And the target schema has update privileges and DBA role.

In mapping out bug mode, I saw some old data + new data has been loaded. In the details on the use of excution process flow, no data has been deleted. The mv database have been inserted, but old data merged too.

Could someone help me on this? Thanks in advance.

    Georges Nicks

    Hi Georges Nicks.

As far as I understand - you complain that some old data stood at dimensions? That is the data existing only no more on the source (view materialized in your case) always tables exist in the target (implementation of the dimension) table. I suppose also that you use ROLAP for cubes Dimensions (are you? Or you use OLAP?).

I also assume you are using the operator of dimension as target in your mapping? How OWB keeps changes in your target size depends on how you have designed your dimension and it's attributes. Is it configured type 1 (overwrite the former record on change), 2 (new record on change) or 3 (keep the old value in a separate change column)?

Anyway - I think that for all types of above dimension, the default behavior is not to delete the old dimension records. In general, it is reasonable since in Datawarehouse you typically add more data (you keep the history). When you say "Refresh" the datawarehouse - usually means adding new recent data (do not purge history).
Something interesting here, that is why you want to purge old dimension records: violent keep consistency in your data model, if it breaks some features? Or you keep more small dimension for query performance reasons?

It is true however that OWB lack such feature to automatically recognize this kind of change as "disappeared from source folder". And that change is sometimes important and must be reflected. In my practice, I used different approaches to deal with this - for example:
    * Add all missing documents on the left side of the mapping with a gauge field EXISTS_IN_SOURCE = 'n' artificially. In this way - OWB processes the records and marks in the target size as «not active more»
    * You can manually (we write some PL/SQL) to process the dimension after loading in OWB (by using step after mapping or some extra in your workflow). It's up to you how you process to remove lines here (you can mark them as EXISTS_IN_SOURCE = 'n', you can update their expiry timestamp, or you can serve them).

Situation with cubes is similar - if you really need a purge of the old data: you must especially take care to implement.

    Kind regards
    JAVOR
