Purpose of sandbox

Can someone tell me please the use of IBC to sand?

You mean sandbox accounts to sand in the BlackBerry World supplier portal? If so, read this page https://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/blackberryworld/testing_apps_with_a_sandbox_user_account.ht...

(Note that this is not the right forum for this question. "I'll ask a mod to move it to the BlackBerry World Development forum for you).

  • Why Firefox 14 will not open a link in an e-mail to open Firefox browser, sandbox?

    I was using Firefox 13 and also of Sandboxie. I kept a sandbox Firefox browser open all the time. If I clicked on a link in an email, the link is opened in the browser Firefox open, sandbox. I've updated for Firefox 14. I could no longer click on a link in an email and open the web page in the Firefox browser sandboxed to sand. Instead, she ignored the browser sandboxed and opens a normal browser. It defeats the purpose of the simple safety measure that I used. Is it possible to make a link clicked in an open e-mail message in a browser Firefox 14 sandbox, rather that ignore him and open the link in a normal Firefox browser, non-sandbox? In the meantime, I uninstalled Firefox 14 and reinstalled Firefox 13 and I can once again open a link in an email directly in a browser of Firefox open, sandbox, v. 13.

  • What is the purpose of VTEncoderXPCService and why should I use so much CPU?

    As you can see in the image as an attachment, it consumes about 300% of the power of my CPU:

    This causes in turn my MacBook Pro CPU to heat and speed up the rotation of the fan.

    What is the purpose of this process? Why is it so CPU intensive even if the Photos app is sitting idle in the background?

    Thank you.

    Why is it so CPU intensive even if the Photos app is sitting idle in the background?

    As you probably know, the conditioned XPCservices which can access the sandbox of a request and securely communicate with him. When you import new media or migrate a photo library, it will create thumbnails and previews of media in the library.  'S done it by background processes began to take photos. These will be run and is same photo is apparently inactive. After the importation of the new media, it is best to keep the pictures running overnight to get background processing as long as you don't need a mac for other tasks.

    VTEncoderXPCService and VTDeoderXPCService convert your videos. If one of them is hogging all processing power, this may mean that you have a lot of videos in your library requiring a conversion or one of your videos is damaged or uses a codec that cannot be treated by pictures. Have you recently to import new videos or migrate a library with videos?

    If a video cannot be treated, remove it from your photo library.  To find the culprit, try to read your videos into pictures.

  • What is the purpose of Livecomm.exe and Skydrive.exe

    What is the purpose of the two of them?

    Is Livecomm required on W8 for synchronization of Skydrive?

    How can I permanently stop Livecomm?

    It sounds like a great answer but is not an answer to the question. Files exe is at the heart of the app for Live services. The suspended state may or may not be defined according to the app. If no activity is required by an application, then it will call to suspend. It can also wake up and not be suspended. Suspended has nothing to do with anything. All EXE can be suspended, but metro apps call to suspend design.

    A metro app is an executable that runs in the sandbox of Metro. Other than that, it is still an executable and still works as a. Consider a process running under the control of the session the subway, but it's still just an app with a new fancy name (aka Apple). If I look at the Task Manager will see all kinds of processes that are suspended. Many have nothing to do with the subway.  What I'll see intermittently, is the "communication Service" is suspended. This is the main task for the mail of active components and contacts. He works intermittently to query for updates. In the meantime, it hangs. When you look at the splash screen or metro you don't see it, but it is always the case.

    I suspect that the suspended status does not appear when we first open Manager tasks because the Task Manager is not completed update. I can force it to switch by flipping back. but it just will not be suspended for a fraction of a second.

  • Error #2048: Security sandbox Violation

    I worked on it for almost 2 days now, solid with no luck.  Depletion of each article and the suggestion that I ran across, then I hope that the community can help!  In my quest for an answer to this, I hope he can serve a dual purpose and become useful information for other developers is going in this direction.  For some, you can see the contents and figure TL; DR, but I'm hoping to answer any question that might otherwise span multiple messages.

    The goal is to use a socket "binary" for communication between a Flash application and a custom socket server I'm working.  I soon discovered that you must have a file "crossdomain.xml" to the Flash Application communicate via sockets.

    I develop on Windows 7 64 bits, using Flash Professional CS6, Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 and hosting under IIS.

    Eventually I plan on hosting the Application Flash crossdomain.xml on a remote server, but in order to develop what I wanted to try and keep everything on a single development computer.

    My political module Socket server receives the request for the Flash Application and returns the correct answer.

    Incoming packets using Debug-> Debug Movie--> in Flash Professional:

    GET HTTP/1.1 crossdomain.xml

    Accept: text/xml, application/xml, application/xhtml + xml, text/html; q = 0.9, text/plain; q = 0.8, text/css, image/png, image/jpeg, image/gif; q = 0.8, application/x-shockwave-flash, video/mp4; q = 0.9, flv-application/octet-stream; q = 0.8, video/x-flv; q = 0.7, audio/mp4, application/futuresplash, * / *; q = 0.5

    x-flash-version: 11,2,202,228

    User-Agent: Shockwave Flash

    Host: 127.0.0.1:843

    Incoming packets by using control-> test movie-> in the browser:

    Bag #1

    < policy-file-request / >

    Bag #2

    GET HTTP/1.1 crossdomain.xml

    Host: localhost:843

    Connection: keep-alive

    User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537,1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/537,1 of Chrome/21.0.1180.89

    Accept: * / *.

    Accept-Language: en-US, en; q = 0.8

    Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1, utf-8; q = 0.7, *; q = 0.3

    The response that is returned:

    <? XML version = "1.0"? >

    <! DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "http://www.adobe.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd" > ""

    < cross-domain-policy >

    < allow-access-from ports = "" * "domain =" * "/ >"

    < / cross-domain-policy >

    At first I wasn't sure if it worked, until I pulled a copy of a violin and looked at the packages being requested and returned.  Initially I had more entries, but as I read more the crossdomain.xml I discovered all the inputs excluded would be lacking at current values so I started to take them off to test crossdomain.xml configurations, that I've run across.

    Return all the XML content through the socket connection did not work, I found out later that I had to create a HTTP header and then add the XML content.

    I was able to confirm the Application Flash Professional CS6 received the crossdomain.xml when I was running the Application in Debug Mode (debug->-> Debug Movie in Flash Professional) and the generated output the following warning:

    Warning: 127.0.0.1 domain does not specify a meta-policy.  'Master only' default meta-policy for the application.  This configuration is deprecated.  See http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files to solve this problem.

    I know that this is easily fixed by simply using a file as crossdomain.xml:

    <? XML version = "1.0"? >

    < ! DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "http://www.adobe.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd" > ""

    < cross-domain-policy >

    < site permitted-cross-domain-policies of control = "master only" / >

    < allow-access-from ports = "" * "domain =" * "/ >"

    < / cross-domain-policy >

    Source ActionScript code:

    private void EstablishConnection(): void {}

    var sock: Socket;

    Security.allowDomain("*");

    Security.loadPolicyFile ("http://127.0.0.1:843 / crossdomain.xml" "");

    socks = new Socket();

    sock.addEventListener (Event.CLOSE, closeHandler);

    sock.addEventListener (Event.CONNECT, connectHandler);

    sock.addEventListener (IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, ioErrorHandler);

    sock.addEventListener (SecurityErrorEvent.SECURITY_ERROR, securityErrorHandler);

    sock.addEventListener (ProgressEvent.SOCKET_DATA, socketDataHandler);

    sock.connect ("http://127.0.0.1", 8080 ");

    }

    private void closeHandler(event:Event):void {}

    trace ("closeHandler:" + event);

    }

    private void connectHandler(event:Event):void {}

    trace ("connectHandler:" + event);

    }

    private void ioErrorHandler(event:IOErrorEvent):void {}

    trace ("ioErrorHandler:" + event);

    }

    private void securityErrorHandler(event:SecurityErrorEvent):void {}

    trace ("securityErrorHandler:" + event);

    }

    private void socketDataHandler(event:ProgressEvent):void {}

    trace ("socketDataHandler:" + event);

    }

    When I run the Flash Application in debug mode, the following content is displayed in the output window:

    ioErrorHandler: [IOErrorEvent type = "ioError" bubbles = false cancelable = false eventPhase = 2 text = "error #2031: error Socket."] ["URL: http://127.0.0.1"]

    Warning: 127.0.0.1 domain does not specify a meta-policy.  'Master only' default meta-policy for the application.  This configuration is deprecated.  See http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files to solve this problem.

    securityErrorHandler: [SecurityErrorEvent type = "securityError" bubbles = false cancelable = false eventPhase = 2 text = "" error #2048: security sandbox violation: file:///C|/Source/FlashCS6/AS101.swf cannot load data from http://127.0.0.1:8080. ""]

    [UnloadSWF] C:\Source\FlashCS6\AS101.swf

    Debug the session is over.

    The "ioErrorHandler" is almost instantaneous on the output, while the "securityErrorHandler" takes maybe 10 to 15 seconds before it takes place.  I understand that this is due to the asynchronous nature of the Flash engine.

    When I'm not in the code in the debugger, I noticed that the request to load the policy file does not run as long as the Application is really trying to connect to the defined URL and port.  I think that might be the cause, but not sure.

    In an effort to make this work, I have:

    • Added the SWF and the project file to the global security settings
    • Publication parameters changed in the 'network access only '.
    • added " " http://127.0.0.1 "for Global security settings "
    • Under publication settings, enabled "permit debugging".
    • Adding the inbound and outbound rules in the firewall of Windows 7 to TCP 8080
    • Tried several configurations of crossdomain.xml
    • Check the rules of the "mms.cfg" to ensure that there is no blockage
    • Characteristics of record created and activated in 'mm.cfg', but the log files generated nothing more than what already appeared in Flash Pro CS6 exit window
    • '127.0.0.1' changed 'localhost', get the same results

    On the note of global security settings, I discovered that there are 2 separate places.

    • If you press 'Ctrl + Enter' and right-click your Flash application, "global security settings" here a dialog box of windows with the options that you can configure
    • There is another which is located at the following ADDRESS

    http://www.Macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.htm l #117502

    Do you need to put them both?  I did, in order to solve this.  I guess one comes into play on your local workstation and the other is based on the web only.

    I ran across some references to the Type of sandbox, which could cause potential problems of this kind.  In the trace, until the socket connections are made, I traced the current Type of the Sandbox and it was "localTrusted".

    Another article talked about using your public IP address from your ISP, instead of localhost or 127.0.0.1, but it defeats the purpose of local development.

    I know that the socket communication works on the workstation local, based on 2 trials.  The first being the LoadPolicyFile is run on a socket request and the second being, I tested the Server Socket with a non - Flash Client App communication.

    I am now at a loss and stuck in the mud.  Any help appreciated, and I hope it sheds some light to others going down this same road.

    Thank you.

    Well, the system is not perfect, but it does not work once you lubricate all moving parts with the right oil. =)

    I started by using a sample of Microsoft for asynchronous Server Socket to create a Client and a server, confirming that the system has worked.

    Link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fx6588te.aspx

    To try to solve this problem, I discovered a policy + socket server written in java.  It's not pretty, but they have a warning on the page saying it is extremely poorly written, but it works.

    Link: http://efreedom.com/Question/1-2951030/AS3-Java-Socket-Connection-Live-Flash-Local-Java

    I had nothing to lose, so I created a restore point, installed the Java SDK and the Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers.  Created a new project and hacked the sample to match the ports I used and hit 'Play', out of the Flash project and he displayed in a browser.  For the first time, I've witnessed events fire off to connect and close.  In shock now. Laughing out loud.

    After some trial and error with my server, I discovered what needed to change.  The first had to do with how being constituted "AddressFamily.  The order of the day was change the IP for IPEndPoint from a source of an AddressList object (see example of Microsoft) to "IPAddress.Any.  The last item was a bit strange, because the server did not seem to pick up all new connections until I set the listener with MaxConnections.

    Here is a screenshot of the final c# code where the changes have been made.

    IPHostEntry ipHostInfo = null;

    IPEndPoint localEndPoint = null;

    Try

    {

    ipHostInfo = Dns.GetHostEntry (Dns.GetHostName ());

    localEndPoint = new IPEndPoint (IPAddress.Any, _Port);

    _SocketListener = new Socket (localEndPoint.Address.AddressFamily, SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp);

    _SocketListener.bind (localEndPoint);

    _SocketListener.listen ((int) SocketOptionName.MaxConnections);

    ...

    It seems relatively simple, but all it takes is 1 config parameter incorrectly and the sails of server at a different level than where the Flash works.

    I founded the NPS server off the coast of the same design.  What I don't understand, is despite the design original not to recognize the connections on the server of a Flash, Flash application policy still caught crossdomain profile that was sent back across port 843.  The content is only available in the engine (a local file does not exist) and I was able to validate this function changes on the crossdomain content sent through and re - compile and restart the server for testing, I did.

    Error #2048 resulted from the Socket server not accepting the connection or to be available for connections.  Once I set the policy server that I was always getting error #2048 until I corrected the Socket server connections.  Initially, I had put a HTTP header to the content of the packet sent with the cross-domain policy, but later I deleted and only send the XML contents now.

    The design I had in mind of all work now.  Multiple connections and communication in real time via sockets.  I have no need for video or audio streaming, data only.  I hope this info helps anyone else who may face the same challenges.

    See you soon!

  • error #2048 - error of security, violation of sandbox

    Hello, I run an application using a Flash front end client and includes the use of Flash Media Server.  The application is a contour multi-user Builder which allows people to comment on a general plan and comment on comments.  It is basically an XML structure that multiple users can access simultaneously.

    Our environment consists of a web server, a database server and a server running FMIS.  All load requests are processed by asking a PHP file on the web server via a URLLoader in the Flash client.  The client and all of the associated PHP files are in the same location on the web server, in the folder root of the web site.

    I don't understand how a 2048 error could occur in this instance.  Clearly my understanding is imperfect, because it occurs, and it prevents some people to be able to use the application.  I've included a crossdomain.xml file in the same folder as the Flash client, since this site and the FMIS server are the only ones, he jumps.  All access to the database is managed via PHP.  Does anyone have any experience with such a configuration running?  I must add that our web server runs Apache, and the locations of physical hard drive of files are assigned to a virtual directory in Apache for the purpose of hosting several sites.  I have no idea if that would make a difference or not, but the domain name for the site is covered in the crossdomain.xml file.

    Ideas, advice and sources pointing to better explanations of security problems that I found here on the Adobe site would be appreciated, because I do not clearly understand the sources that I read.  Thanks in advance for any help.

    HI -.

    The first thing to do is to try to use * for your domain policies and work backwards from there.  If the wildcard character works and allows the data through without the sandbox error, try to put *. yourdomain.com so that it covers yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com www2.yourdomain.com etc...

    Then you should put the crossdomain.xml file in the DocumentRoot directory.

    If all else fails, try to set up a network POLICY server.  http://www.Adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/socket_policy_files.html

    Honestly, you shouldn't need the policy server... put your crossdomain.xml file in the root directory and to play with the wildcard character for your domains should help too.

  • Is it possible to have a common accessible file location for the main application in the sandbox and its extension app plugin

    I'm trying to launch an app on the app store for mac. The bundle of the main application and everything inside it is on sandbox.

    The main application Bundle identifier is com.xxx.core.app . The identifier for the internal Plugin Finder Extension application Bundle is com.xxx.core.app.extensions .

    Now the problem is the extension inner finder is also available in sand and trying to read a file written by the main application.

    The main application writes the file location depending on mac OS X, for example temp/var/folder/jv11743453495593/T/com.xxx.core.app

    But the internal Plugins try to read/var/folder/jv11743453495593/T/com.xxx.core.app/extensions

    Because of the different bundle identifiers, they have different containers.

    Can someone let me know how to limit the same application and its plugins to the same folder location. Does perform a work around for this problem.

    Hello yuktikapahwa,

    See the Sandbox Apple Guide under the ApplicationDirectory group container

    You must create a group that your container can access. I'm not 100% certain that this will work with extensions of Finder, but it seems the most logical place to start.

    Hello PhotoBug3L75,

    It is part of an adware/malware program. Its purpose is to track your behavior, perhaps record keystrokes you enter, who knows. I suggest you remove it with MalwareBytes for Mac: https://www.malwarebytes.com/antimalware/mac/

    Then, download and run EtreCheck to go to http://www.etrecheck.com and see if it reports no adware or unknown files. EtreCheck is perfectly safe to run, don't request your password to install and is signed with my developer Apple ID.

    EtreCheck can delete the adware also, but I'm about to release an update to improve this feature. It will not erase the recent versions of adware. I don't know if MalwareBytes will remove all, but EtreCheck can tell you whether she did it or not.

  • Geolocation API works with sandboxed iframes or provide an error

    The navigator.geolocation.watchPosition function call does not work with sandboxed iframes where allow-same-origin is not specified (so the iframe counts as a unique and anonymous origin). I assumed that in so doing the iframe in sandbox inherits is not permission to use the geolocation API to the site that contains is a smart decision. Personally, I wish I had a way to create sandboxed iframes that can also use the geolocation API, but I don't understand if that is not implemented. However, a sandbox or an iframe also does not receive an authorization error when using the geolocation API that is completely wrong and makes it really difficult to debug.

    After the update to version 26 27 version, Firefox opens not under Sandboxie 4.08. My XP Task Manager indicates that Firefox is running as a process, but not as a running application. I tried everything and then some, and nothing seems to fix this. I don't really like running UN-sandbox. I've also posted this problem on the Sandboxie forum, and other people are having the same problem. I think the problem is with the last update for Firefox and not of Sandboxie since all previous versions of Firefox have worked perfectly under Sandboxie.

    I really appreciate all the comments on this issue. What I finally did to solve the problem, is to return to an earlier version of Firefox, version 25.0.1. Update version 26 removed a feature that I liked and, of course, the problem of sandboxing with version 27. I read in a previous post that someone was successful with the version 27 by downloading the full version of Firefox 27 sandboxed and install on their existing installation of Firefox rather than return help > about Firefox > check updates which is what I did. Still overall, the road I took should not have any problem with Sandboxie since he has never done before. Of course I've always updated outside the sandbox. I closed Firefox completely by clicking file > exit; Open UN - sandbox; updated; then re-open Firefox with the "Web Browser sandbox" desktop icon. In any case, I now have the version of Firefox that I like better, and it is fully protected under Sandboxie. Thanks again, everyone!
