Put the app icon in the custom folder

Hi all

I have a question on where the icon of the application is implemented. I use OS 5.0, BlackBerry JDE Plugin for Eclipse and after deployment of my application, the icon is placed in the download folder and it is not visible in the home screen. If I manually put the icon in the screen of the main menu, 1st place, I see the icon on the screen at the first position. Is there a way to automatically put the icon in this position? I saw the homescreen class, but I have not found any method to do this...

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards

Gianni.

lol the position is controlled by the theme (download folder is the default on most)

  • LabVIEW FPGA. Where should I put the custom controls - or type defs in a project

    Hello

Maybe this is a stupid question - but I'm a little confused on where within a project I should put the controls (or type defs) used in FPGA screws.  If you put in the bit "module FPGA" project, so they come up as "dependencies" - as if they are not in the project within the project when you read/write values in the target FPGA.  Also, it seems that if you copy the project to a different location folder then the FPGA vi can be distributed in a way that she needs to be recompiled - even if you don't change anything - that's not cool if it takes an hour or two to compile.

I had the controls in the external project for awhile - but seems not ideal from the point of view modular programming, and also, it seems that it may also cause the recompilation unnessary - although perhaps less often that put them in the FPGA subproject.

    Any thoughts?

I've seen the same behavior and it is a fact that the code must be recompiled if you move a project even if the FPGA code is unchanged. From my point of view, it's a real BUG. This is independent of any file source or target FPGA.

The other point of your question is not clear relly. Of course, you will get the dependencies if you place the necessary files outside the structure of the target project. But I see no problem to reference them twice because it won't double the source itself. So I suggest to refer to these files several times in the project structure. Actually I'm doing this because I manage a project file LV with different targets CRIO where the complete code for the target FPGA is double referenced under each target.

  • After putting the profile folder in the trash and delete, I reinstall Firefox and get the 'missing or inaccessible profile' and cannot use firefox.

I started having the "it's embarrassing, impossible to find the website of your last" whenever I started Firefox. This happens even my preferences always says go to the home page. I deleted the folder of Firefox and re-installed application part. It did not work. Then, I deleted the folder 'profile' for firefox and then emptied the trash, so I can't get it back.
Now when I try to reinstall Firefox, I can't access the new installation of Firefox because I always 'no profile folder exists or is inaccessible.

If you return to the location of your previous profile folder (I hope that you back up your bookmarks at least?) and navigate to a level to the Firefox folder, you can find a text file called profiles.ini which always points to the folder that is now gone. To help Firefox to forget the old profile, you can try to rename or delete this file and restart Firefox. Does it work?

Also, I read in another thread that the error you received is caused by a bug where you exit Firefox, when there is no more open pages. The solution is to quit smoking at least a page open.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Gmail App not in the Applications folder

Hi, I just got my 8900 yesterday.  To get the full support of the Gmail IMAP, I downloaded the Gmail app from http://m.google.com/mail.  It seems to work perfectly, except for the fact that I don't see anywhere on the app icon in my Applications folder.  The only way I can start using the BlackBerry menu and then select 'Application Switch.'

How can I get it in my folder of Applications so I can put it on my home screen?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

By default, GMail usually goes in the folder downloads rather than in the Applications folder. Once you find it, you should be able to move the icon where you want - just highlight (don't click), then press the BBKey... There should be options 'Move' and 'move to folder '.

  • I look at the TB dashboard seen comes from open TB. On the left, I see folders. The folder "sent", lets say, is higher than the "Outbox" folder I want to

I look at the TB dashboard seen comes from open TB. On the left, I see folders. The folder "sent", lets say, is higher than the "Outbox" folder I want to put the "Outbox" folder above the folder "sent". How do I do this ever?

I know that the addon will allow you to rearrange accounts, so you could put 'Local folders' over another e-mail account.
It will also allow you to use files within an account.

So if you have a Pop email account that uses the Global setting of the "Inbox", then it should allow you to move the position of the Outbox within this special account.

But as the 'Outbox' is a 'Local folder' folder, I'm not sure that you can move it out of "Local folders" and reposition it on another account.

The method for moving files is done via the menu bar.
'Tools' > 'manually sort folders ".
Select the folder and use "move up" or "Down" buttons.
Then click on the button "refresh folderpane' to see the new sort order.

  • Executable cannot find the custom error code file

I'm building a LabVIEW 2013 application on a Windows 7 computer and deploying it to a Windows XP computer. My application has a custom error code file, stored in -- errors.txt, but my executable on the Windows XP machine can't find the custom error file and returns only the string of appeal for all errors that occur.

When you use is not an installer, I tried to copy the error code at all locations listed here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/6077DBEDA4F9FEE3862571F600449501 but the application still does not load the custom errors. I have the box checked to "Error Codes customized Include" in the construction specifications.

When an executable of construction and the development of Windows 7 to XP, where do I put the custom error code file? It is found in Program Files (x 86), but find not because it's XP?

It's been a few months that I posted this question and I do not know if someone cares about this track, but the solution I found was to put the custom in error code file \National Instruments\Shared\Errors\English\

There are other places that the runtime will look for the custom error codes (I tried all the ones listed above), if the same error codes exist in 2 places the error popup will appear two error messages. Error default 1, it looks like:

LabVIEW: An input parameter is not valid. For example if the input is a path, the path can contain a character not allowed by the operating system such as? or @.
    =========================
NOR-488: Command requires GPIB controller charge controller.

So if you have a custom error code file and it is available in 2 places that LabVIEW RTE check error codes, you will get the same message before and after the =.

List the error as "still included" file when building the executable or by checking the box to include files in error did not tour, obviously. Unless you create a Setup program to distribute the application, the error code file must be moved manually. Shared\Errors file works best for me because it's a place that makes sense.

Also, don't worry - it doesn't me taken 5 months to understand this point, I do not update all my loyal followers (ha) with a solution.

Your configuration above doesn't seem to be HP "stock".

The answer to your question is Yes.  You can redirect "MY" folders type for a second hard drive with your own special storage folders. This post is a typical example of how to move 'MY' Windows folder.  That's how I separate "MY" folders of data storage (my videos, my music, my documents, my pictures, my downloads).  I also put the Contacts folder and Favorites on the data reader.

The tree of the inventory shows a global node when the number of objects exceeds 20 in vSphere Web Client 5.5 and 100 in the 6.0. Up to 5 constituent nodes may be listed under a node of aggregation. If a sixth node is grown under a node aggregate, it pushes the oldest node in the list. This behavior is by design.

as they stated, this is the default behavior in web client 5.5 vSphere.

at least in the Web Client of vSphere 6 is 100 items and also varies according to the KB.

  • Custom folder - basic questions

    Hello world

    Hope everything goes well...

I am aware that one can create a
Declaration and to use it to create a custom folder of discoverer.

I was wondering when you tend to go with this approach?

You do this so that you can-
    (1) avoid complex queries of Discoverer - for example, you want to avoid using too many analytical functions
in order to prepare the data using SQL?

    (2) create a NEW query to scout out this custom folder
This technique is so want to do a query on a query

I would like to create a custom for these 2 reasons folder.

What are your opinions? TX, sandra

    Hi Sandra,.

    Let's specify the terms:

Normally, you developed your Select statement that returns the data you need in the discoverer. Now, you have two choices:

    1. send the SQL your administrator to Disco and to allow him to create a custom Discoverer folder, where it uses your SQL directly (copy & paste is discoverer admin)

    2. you can use your Select statement and store it in the database and give it a name. do you it through:
    Create view your_view_name
    as
    Select in...;

You can use this view as any other table to select:
    Select * from your_view_name;

And it returns the same results as your first select statement. The advantage is that this view exists as an object in the comic book, means that anyone can use (for example for testing), while you as developer maintain.

When you have a view, then in the administrator of discoverer rather than create a custom folder you can create a 'normal' folder through "New database folder". Then it will list all your tables and views in the database, if you select your point of view "your_view_name" and it will create a folder for this (each column in the view will get something in the etc folder).

With regard to performance: you usually can't tell that this or that performs better, because the select statement of the view and in the custom folder may be the same. However if it is in the comic book as a point of view, then the DBA can monitor and optimize the performance of better, since it can be seen as an object.

Beside that, there are some limitations for select statements that you can use in a custom folder. You don't have these limits in the views of the DB. However, these are fairly complex statements that you maybe do not miss so far...

    Benefits for testing regarding:
The advantage with a view of DB is: you create a view for your select statement and then you can ask someone else to check if it returns the correct data. They will have to do a:
    Select * from your_view_name where...;

If something is not correct, you change the view, but you don't need to send them the SQL Mail again... SQLs mail is something I try to avoid, because people always copy & paste errors or e-mail program does stupid things with the code or something else... I prefer to keep the 'application' (statement of code / select source) hidden from the person that tests... they can validate based on the results.

But I don't want to focus too much on this one, since normally it should test your users in Discoverer, it is that they will use, so they should test here. And here, it doesn't have a difference for the end user you have views or custom folders.

With regard to the control of Source Code or "Version Control":
We use CVS or Subversion to store the code of our program. Then all the program code is stored in a version control system, so that you can keep track of the evolution over time, see which version is installed when (we 'labels' with the date of the deployment on the version installed) etc.

I assume that you store your program code somewhere in a folder, and you are using different folders for different versions or something. It's pretty nasty, CVS or Subversion or systems like this easier ;)

    Regarding the automatic deployment:
Once we have developed a certain program (statement, package), and it works fine, then store us it as a new version in our CVS (version control). Then we do a UAT (user acceptance testing). IF all goes well and approved for production, so it must be installed on the production server.
For this, we have a so-called deployment & generation system. We use ANTS to it (comes from the Java community I think).

What we do when we want to have something installed: we run a script called 'build.sh' with some parameters:
    Build.sh deploy_production mon_project

This means we want to deploy the program "mon_project" on the production system. the rest is handled by the script:
    1. download the latest version of the program from CVS code
    2. prepare & copy all the files on the production servers
    3. run one or several scripts on the production servers installation install everything (for example it will run our "create view... "script via SQLPlus)."
    4. check if the installation goes very well
    5. put a label/sticker in CVS that this version of the specific program has been installed on the current date on the production system

You can add things more if you want... of course not everything is automated on our site, for example the discoverer files are always born manually. But it is an action of time. If you make a minor change to the view of DB (not), then you must install the new version of the view only, but nothing should be done in discoverer with the folder.

Well, I could go on for a long time explain the concept more... But meanwhile, I forgot already what was the initial problem :-D

    Best regards
    David.

  • Which is better: view or custom folder

    Hi all
    I work in Discoverer 10 g 2 and 10 gr 2 Oracle database.
I developed a few business sectors and handed over to the company and the system works well.
Now business wants a link or a feature that requires to connect 5 existing folders and this link will appear on the screen 7 items these records.
As it is a complex join, I think to provide a custom folder with all elements of reaquired (which exist in those folders) in the tables that connects all these tables in a view.
There are two ways to do:
One, create a view in the database and map a simple folder to it.
Two, create a cutom folder with the same query.
I was wondering if a method is preferable on other maintenace point of view or any other consideration.
There are no restrictions in our society to create new views. If I create a view, I grant all users the right to select on that. In the custom folder I need not to worry about privileges.
I was reading another thread last: migrate folders customized views of the database which, in my view, that view is a better option.

    Please suggest.

    Thank you

    Hello

If you are able to create views this option is always better for complex joins. Dependencies are managed in the database and complex queries are stored in the database to which they belong.

You don't need to select all your users privileges, because you should use database roles. You just need to grant the role of discoverer database selection.

  • Hi, could you tell me how to put the app icon

Hi, could you tell me how to put the app icon. By what your code?

usually, set you the application icon in the properties of your application.

You can also use the HomeScreen class to change the icon or set an icon of overview.

  • How to change the icon of an extra folder in the sidebar?

I just downloaded Sierra, I have a mac mini and I want to change the icon of a folder that I created, I already changed it, but in the sidebar, there is no icon, so I need help to change to the icon I want.

If you had already created a folder named & then hung out in the

Docking station, a change in this file might have to replace one in the Dock; so

If this is the case, do drag the earlier version of Dock, replace with new.

Of course, when you drag the icon of the old dock, it will go "poof!"

    {Are you referring to the dock as a 'side bar' on the desktop?}

Files and web links, etc. can be slid in the side bar (Dock)?

on the side of the bulkhead the nearest trash. Only applications or utilities

can be moved to the other side.

Here is an example of a file with a custom icon to the dock, put in place to

be considered a list, arranged by name; used to launch additional items that

otherwise could not fit well on the dock. There are also the Alias of elements:

The alias or the symbiotic relationship that you create in the Dock is always based on the presence

the original (a custom, etc folder) or on the icon element can become a '? Mark '

or blank if the original is no longer available. I put the original in my user folder.

If you already know how to copy a new icon to a folder (else, etc.)

    or make a new graphic icon and paste it into the folder to replace original;

so if I understand this issue, the rest should be easy.

Unless you try to accomplish something else...!
