put the recovery on USB partion

Is there a way to put my recovery on my USB partition and use it to restore a computer?

I ask this because I bought 2 hp g60 on a year and a half.  I have one with a bad hard drive and have replaced the hd, but when I get to 18% formatting new disk using the HP recovery dvd I created with the other system, I get an error message.  I tried another new another HD, I even tried to

Download and create the bootable CD as described at the link below.

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloa dIndex? softwareitem = pv-80183-1 & cc = us & lc = en & dlc = en

When you created this CD, insert it into the system that fails to start, restart, and wait until you see a window with a green check mark.  Next, remove the CD and insert your first recovery DVDs.  Reboot the PC and go through the process of installing the operating system again.  If all goes well, it should install properly this time.

and

put the new hd system that works very well and got same error at the same time. so I know that it has nothing to do with the discs being created on another system.

I have also restored the factory image via the good hard disk recovery partion and you want to use this partion to make the new work of HD.

Thanks in advance for your help

Here is an article I found. Unfortunately, if you already have your recovery disks or the hard drive is dead if you can't.

  • BIOS password ask after you put the recovery CD

    Hi all

    I have a problem,

I put inside my Satellite A210-17z recovery CD and I reboot the system.

The system to boot to the CD and ask me the recovery, I said yes, an MS-DOS window opens. It seems that the recovery was in progress and completed.
After my phone restarts itself and a BIOS password asked me, but I never put a BIOS password.

You have an idea or know this password?

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Julien

    Hello Julian

BIOS password can be set only and the recovery procedure has nothing to do with the BIOS, BIOS password or the BIOS settings.
Recovery CD has the task to wipe the HARD drive and install recovery image.

I did the installation of recovery many times on different laptops (not only the portable Toshiba) and I never noticed anything like that. So the question is, does anyone else have the BIOS password value and you don't know about it?

BIOS password can be removed by the Toshiba service provider.

  • Hard drive does not start after the use of the recovery on USB Manager

The hard drive on HP G62t - 350 CTO Notebook to my newphew failed. I could create a USB recovery in the Recovery Manager. I installed a new 120 GB SSD. The original hard drive was bigger, do not remember now but 250 or 500 GB. I know that the recover the system after the hard is replaced (Windows 7) said "to avoid problems, install a hard drive as big or bigger than the replaced hard disk", but that's a question for later.

Computer started fine of USB (in fact, is set to boot from USB if present by default). Recovery Manager starts. I choose minimum installation. He goes through the process of partitioning the SSD and copying files. Said so to remove the external media and restart, the computer will restart several times during the process, blah, blah, blah. I get out of USB and restarted, but after POST I get "no bootable media present.

If I try to reboot, leaving the USB in, it starts in USB and that we are at the beginning. I am able to confirm with a rescue disk, the SSD has an NTFS partition that had Windows files copied to it and a large amount of unallocated space. (Something like 60% / 40%).

    So:

    1. How make bootable hard drive for, and if it was bootable, recovery processes complete?
    2. What is happening with the partitions? He creates the partition recovery first, and then after the start, the recovery partition installs the operating system? If so, I might have to give up this process because since I'm moving to smaller storage, I don't want to devote half of the drive to a recovery partition.
    3. Official recovery media help? A technician told me that he would do so, but couldn't explain to my satisfaction why the USB I created with Recovery Manager does not work, so I'm suspicious of the assertion that the media created by HP as opposed to media created by me using the own HP software would be better, and since the computer is under warranty I don't want to spend $30 + to find out.

Most of the people who have installed an SSD that was smaller than the reader of the factory were unable to use any medium recovery HP with the SSD.

  • Make the recovery with USB disks

I have a HP Pavilion older m9300t Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.50 GHz 4 GB 500 GB. HP told me that they no longer have the recovery discs available.  I bought a refurbished with no disk system.  The hard drive eventually crushed and I decided to keep the computer as it is beyond my needs.  I want to recover my software. I read that you can make the recovery disks with a USB key. It will work in safe mode? And we know if it's a system of 64 or 32-bit?

If the disk hard th is crushed, then the recovery partition will be unreliable.

Follow the instructions on the web HP to the address following document to find out how to order a set of recovery disks. Maybe it's a bit difficult because the desktop PC is three generations behind the current operating system.  Is there a certificate of Windows of authenticity with an activatinkey of license of twenty-five characters on the case somewhere?

  • Can I install the OS from the recovery DVD?

    Hello
is what I want to know, if it is possible to install the OS (Vista) of DVD of recovery after formatting the HARD drive and installing XP.

    I have a satellite L30-113.

    Thank you

    Hello

Yes, it should be possible. If you want to clean up the entire HARD drive and simply want Vista on your computer, and you have a recovery with Vista, then it shouldn´t be
    a big problem.

Just put the recovery cd in the player, press "F12" to choose the media that you want to start (in this case, your CD/DVD drive :)) and follow the instructions.)

If you have any additional questions, just ask. :)

  • Satellite P100: No CD Windows Vista but only the recovery CD

Hi, I recently bought a toshiba satellite P100, but it does not seem to have fitted with a disc of Windows Vista, only the preinstalled Vista.

The laptop works fine for now, but I'm a little worried that if something is wrong in the future, I will have no way to reinstall the OS.

The laptop came with a recovery disk, and I don't know if Vista is included on this?

If it isn't in any way I can make a copy of vista installed on my HARD drive?

    Thank you

    Hello

Don t worry, you don t need to make a copy of your HARD disk, since you already have a vista on your recovery media.

If you have problems with your system and you want to re - install, then backup all your data on an external, put the recovery in your CD/DVD drive, boot from it and then just 'recover' or 'reinstall' your system. The recovery process works automatically and you will have an installation "factory-like" after recovering from your machine.

Hope, I could explain it... ;)

  • Satellite M40 - cannot boot from the recovery cd after format HARD drive

    Hello

After my Satellite M40 - 133 being affected by the virus of security internet I had to wipe my hard drive. The virus wouldn't let me do anything, boot without failure or system restore. I wiped the disk and it still wouldn't load up. That's why I had to do a full erase of the disk including the hidden partition.

After doing his now do not let my boot from the CD of restoration as it says invalid partition as his search for files that must be on the hidden partition. What can I do to get it started. I'm not bothered about to recover anything on the disc. If I remove the hard drive and put the recovery cd in, it excludes the disc and begins to start until he fails to see the hard drive.

Outwardly I can link the drive to another pc and he sees it as a storage device so I'm glad that there is nothing wrong with the hard ware - help please

    Hello

Can you see the HARD drive with all the details in the BIOS?
If this isn't the case, then this means that the HARD drive is faulty or not fully compatible.
If you can see the HARD drive in the BIOS, then this means that the HARD drive is compatible.

But this should not affect booting from a bootable CD.
Even if the HD would not be recognized in the BIOS, you should be able to boot from the CD. For example a live Linux CD has not only any disk HARD because the BONE would not be installed on the HARD drive, but it loads into RAM.

The question is; Why you are unable to boot from any CD?
Maybe the discs are scratched or the CD/DVD drive cannot read the disc more because of problems of laser lens
If possible, try to copy/burn the Windows CD using another computer, and then try to start using the copied disc.

  • Equium L40 problems using the recovery disk

    Hello

I wonder if anyone can help me?

I want to restore my computer but when I put the recovery disk in I select the cd/dvd rom drive by pressing f12 at startup.
I also maintained pressed C when I lit. I select the disc I want to start the computer, it goes to a black screen, then it loads just windows up as usual.

I phoned with Toshiba for help and all they could tell me was that as another drive worked on my computer, it isn't a problem with the disk drive, but a problem with the disc and it will cost me 30 quid for a new!

Is anyone able to give me any help

    Thank you

    Hello

If I understand your message, you are not able to recover the laptop using the Toshiba disc. Is this good?

Well, in your case I recommend to start from another original Windows XP CD bootable disc or Vista DVD or a Linux drive to test if the CD/DVD drive can handle this drive.

In this case, you can test if your CD/DVD drive is faulty or if the problem is related to the Toshiba DVD recovery.

  • Windows 8.1 remove with the recovery tool, can I get it back

    Hello

I have HP ENVY 15-j101ex NB

I installed UBUNTU and all hard disk delete, to restore the Windows OS 8.1 and how? The laptop still on warranty

    Thank you

Use the recovery media (usb or recovery disks set) that you must have to preform a factory image reecovery. This will make your PC to the State in which it was delivered to you. The recovery media contains also all hardware required for Windows 8.1 drivers.

If not create you a game, you can buy a HP usb media to $25.00 USD.

Looking for a drive USB recovery or recovery discs?

Do yourself the favor to get the recovery media USB instead of the set of recovery disks.

The USB key is, unlike the recovery set, durable, very fast and reliable disk.
